I  AM   THAT   I  AM

As Identity comes into I AM THAT I AM, there is a transparency as far as the outer point of entry into the world is concerned. The transparency allows the Presence of I AM THAT I AM — and that is Life itself, and all the Heavenly Hosts acting in this moment. Isolated individuality — even divine individuality disappears, in one sense. There’s no effort to achieve anything because I know that as I let a current move, and clothe it, I also know that the correlating work is being done everywhere else by the One Spirit. I don’t have to sweat or struggle to achieve anything. What would I struggle to do all on my little own here at this point of entrance? What a futile perspective. We can relax and actually enjoy being present — and it’ll involve just a little action. There’s room to enjoy, instead of ferreting around to achieve something. It’s the Presence that achieves, because it’s not just the presence of the outer individual.

“There shall be no more death.” If we look back at history in the Bible, there is obviously a focus of spiritual consideration there. But once we know I AM THAT I AM, spiritual consideration can be considering anything in any period of history. If we look back, we see that a certain quality of Character or Spirit was present when our Master was alive. Those qualities of Being that were there two thousand years ago are here now. So obviously, there’s been no death of life. Cells get sloughed off, and then that Spirit picks up other forms to clothe itself.

We know that I am this Character — I am this Spirit. So we begin to have a sense of the eternal nature of Being. It was back there thousands of years ago, last year, and here we are! No one will ever experience death. Nobody ever will. Human beings think they’re going to experience nothing, but they can’t. Being is the only thing that can experience anything, and as long as Being is present it will experience something. So although we all may need to wait to prove out the truth of these words, we’ll find that this is the Truth. I realize it won’t fundamentally dispel the fear that pervades the human psyche at the moment, but part of our presence in human form is to restore the full experience of Life, which is eternal.

One way to begin to eliminate the fear of death that pervades our consciousness, to some extent, is to participate enthusiastically in the death of the human ego. We’ve all heard the statement: People who are afraid of dying are those who never lived. Someone who has lived to the full has conditioned their consciousness, and the fear of death has dissolved.

If we consciously let the human ego be eliminated, we find ourselves becoming increasingly identified with what clings to nothing externally. I am the Current itself. A lot of people feel the Current of Life and say, “I’m feeling the Current of Life. What I need is this form to clothe it.” No, that’s not the real experience. The real experience is just knowing the Presence — there is a Current of Life, and inherent in that Current is fulfillment. The trouble is, we’ve been conditioned to look for certain forms to complement the Current of Being that we feel in the moment, and get frustrated because they aren’t there. It is experiencing the Current itself that is the source of fulfillment, not the forms. Contentment can be known just being the Current. You will find that inherent in your environment there is a complement for the Current, but not in some imagined form. “Where’s the person that can complement this? Where’s the job? Where’s the this? Where’s the that?” No, in the Current itself is the fulfillment, and clothing that in the moment with what is actually present.

In the whole Design, everything is here. Believe it or not, the kingdom of heaven is here completely — now. It’s not as glorious in form as it may evolve to be through the eons of eternity, but it is describable by the word heaven exactly as it is now, and part of our job is to bring that experience here — now.

Each of us, being a Focus of Life relative to the human world, is a focus of authority in every aspect of living. In the human-nature world, people are recognized as experts in certain areas and tend to be content with that—“I’m a carpenter; I’m a lawyer; I’m a mother.” But an Angel, being an aspect of Life itself, is able to provide government in all aspects of living. Spiritual expression is, in fact, the true level of authority in every field of human expression and experience. That doesn’t mean to say that we have to be experts at the mental or physical level in every field, but experts at the spiritual level, which is the level of government. We should be in position and present to say, “This is the creative attitude to have in this field.” We can do this in every field!

Let’s be specific. I know virtually nothing about automobile mechanics. How could I possibly provide focus and authority for the world in auto mechanics? Well, I can! I can have an attitude of care and love towards my car. In that attitude I presume there’s some kind of maintenance program required, so although I couldn’t do it myself, I can take steps to find somebody who would do it. In just that act, I have provided spiritual authority relative to that piece of machinery. That can apply to every single field of activity, and I AM THAT I AM is that authority. That is the emergence of the spiritual Archangelic Identity — and it’s the Angelic Identity too.

I’m raising this to point out that I am, in reality, the King on Earth. I do not have to do everything; there are other parts of the Design to do things, and all that is enfolded, loved and encouraged by Me. We each are an aspect of the King — I AM THAT I AM. The Spirit is the King. It is what governs, and there has to be a focus of this Identity in and through human consciousness. This is our responsibility now, and that’s not arrogant. We assume that responsibility — to provide a focus of right Spirit in whatever we are doing or thinking about. Then that Presence is present in human consciousness in the body of mankind, and in all the mechanisms in the Divine Design of which the human intellect knows nothing. The mechanisms inherent in the organism of this planet are then coordinated with this One Spirit. Not that the mind follows out all the mechanisms and decides to do this and that, but these subconscious patterns of automatic function are then consciously connected with Universal Spirit.

Man is the connecting link between the Cosmic Whole and this planet and the details working out in it. Where is the connection? The connection is the benevolent consciousness of man, the benevolent Spirit, and then everything that the mind looks at is bathed and included in the influence of the Spirit.

The purpose of life is very clear to us. It is no longer to get into heaven, certainly not after we’re dead! And it isn’t to live in such a way that we will reincarnate a little higher up next time around. We are present to express the wonder and the beauty of who we are — Being — to express the Truth of Love now. Everything else can recede — the goals and achievements, such as getting married, having children, having a job, buying a house or car — all those are subsidiary to the one absolute purpose that is always the same in every moment: to give expression to the Truth of Love. That was the purpose in eons past, it is the purpose in this moment, and it will be the purpose in whatever form we find ourselves in — in one, two, three million, or a billion years into the future.

So we can forget the past and the future, and come to focus in the moment, play our part here and now and have a unique experience of heaven, of Being, which is delightful. In one sense, this moment will never come again. On the other hand, the fundamental quality of it will always be present — the joy, the excitement and the wonder of Being in any form. This is a unique and miraculous experience of Being. Let’s enjoy the gift of being here now!
