The Radiant Focus Of Spirit On Earth

The  Radiant  Focus  of  Spirit  on  Earth

We seem to be a little short of seats. It's wonderful to see so many here this morning. And we are joined today by others who are gathered in various locations at the end of the telephone line Green Pastures, Glen Ivy, Still Meadow and 100 Mile House. The point of origination is here in Vancouver. There must be getting on for a thousand sharing this hour, which is a goodly number. There could, of course, be many more around the world! We might question as to how come all these friends are participating directly in what we share in this hour, and also that there might well be others around the world who would delight to be a direct part of what we ourselves now know. How come? Was an advertising program put on? There have been those who have been a little enthusiastic in times past in an endeavor to gather people out of the highways and the byways; but this isn't really the way it works, although no doubt people do come from the highways and byways—all of you, for instance! No. The requirement is that there should be an attractive force, a point of spiritual radiation, so that the substance of the quality of character in people may begin to resonate therewith.

This radiation has been present in a specific way for many years. The force of attraction has been in operation. The substance has been resonating and has been drawn, and brought with it all these people. We are usually rather proud of our independence and that we choose to do this and to do that. But really it isn't a matter of choice. When something genuine puts in an appearance it is no longer a matter of choice. If there is genuine substance of character in a person and there is this focus of spiritual radiation, there will be resonation, there will be attraction. While there are those who resist the attraction and come rather reluctantly, they can't help but come. It just depends on the extent of that quality of character that may be present. For those who do come, they discover that there was really no choice. One might as well admit and acknowledge that right away; otherwise there is a good deal of discomfort. But to be true to oneself as this attraction works, one is compelled to come home.

It is a matter of coming home—coming to a place where we all belong. We have managed, with a great deal of effort, sweat of the brow, to stay away from that place, together with most of the human population. But it takes much effort and much grief. It seems that people are inclined to enjoy their suffering; otherwise why would there be the inclination to keep at it? It is a matter of yielding to a compulsion. This compulsion relates to a focus of spiritual radiation. I'm quite aware of the way it works, because it had to work for me, just as it is available to work for anyone, anywhere, at any time. The spiritual point of radiation insofar as I was concerned turned out to be the one whom many of us knew as Uranda. Oh yes, he had a name like the rest of us—Lloyd Arthur Meeker—but he offered himself on the basis of this name Uranda so as to indicate something which was not merely of human nature.

The requirement is that there should be a point of focus—radiant focus, spiritual focus—in form on earth to provide that attractive force. Obviously we are all very much aware that there must be a point of focus in the invisible sense. Many people on earth believe that. Christians particularly think of it in terms of Jesus, and other characters for other peoples. But the mere fact of an invisible point of focus, which apparently is quite successful in operating the universe, is not enough insofar as human beings are concerned. In spite of claims to the contrary, that point of focus has consistently been ignored in the actual practical experience of living, so that humankind has got way off into left field, separated from any awareness of this coordinating point of invisible focus. That has always been available for everyone, but the state of human nature has been so strong that scarcely anyone has acknowledged that point of focus, except in theory, in an attitude of belief perhaps. But as practical experience of that point of focus in one's own expression of living, it has been absent. It seems helpful for some to believe that there is such a point and to try to conduct their lives according to what they deem would be the requirement of this invisible point, but no one really knows. There are all sorts of ways by which people have attempted to do this; but it has all been very theoretical, and it has all been very conflicting.

There is only one way by which this conflict might be dissolved, and that is if all concerned found their centering in this one, presently invisible, point of spiritual focus. Without that there is no possibility of what human beings think of as peace. Trying to get human beings together to agree, I’m sure all would be inclined to recognize, is an absolutely impossible task. It can’t be done. The Christians say, “Well if everybody would agree to be a Christian then we’d have peace.” Do you think so? Is there peace in the Christian world, or in the Islamic world, or in any of the other worlds that are around? The conflict is everywhere; we are aware of that.

We recognize the necessity for realignment with, repolarization in, the point of invisible spiritual focus. But that is impossible. Everybody has been trying to do that, but people had their own ideas as to what it was, and those ideas differ. The Roman Catholics, in the Christian world, have one idea; Anglicans have another; the United Church has another. People feel comfortable, or less than uncomfortable, associated with these various aspects, and they try to do what is considered to be the proper things in relationship to these various designs of religion, whether Christian or any other. But we still have conflict. There are masses of people now who do not particularly relate to any religion. It doesn’t really make much difference. The state of the affairs on earth has always been conflict. War is not a modern invention, and there is no less of it on earth today than there ever was. Clearly enough, whatever has been done has been of little value, simply because this point of radiant spiritual focus has been ignored. To be acceptable as it really is, such a point must be embodied in human form. Those who call themselves Christians have recognized this, and they have fingered Jesus for the task. Unfortunately He apparently lived a couple of thousand years ago, which isn’t much help now. It could have been then, but it wasn’t.

There is the necessity for the spiritual point of focus to be embodied on earth. This is the one thing that has been lacking. There has been no common point toward whom all could orient. This necessity has been recognized by people in general, that there is this need, and so there are various ones who have presented themselves as usefully providing this point, not only in the world of religion but in the world of politics and everything else. “Follow me, follow me. I'm the great one. I'll lead you into heaven on earth.” And there are all these ways, all these systems, all these various conflicting undertakings, coming to focus in different people, everybody vying with everybody else: “If you would only come my way, then everything would be solved.” Nonsense—I don't care whose way it is.

There is only one way, and that is the way of this heretofore invisible point of focus. That point of focus, of spiritual radiation, must emerge through a person. It doesn't emerge through two dozen people. It emerges through one person. I had the very fortunate opportunity of becoming aware of this in this very city of Vancouver. I have had something of a love affair with Vancouver for a long time. I first visited the city in 1930. In 1940 Uranda came to Vancouver and I met him here in person. I had been in touch with him before and had arranged for his coming here to Vancouver to speak in a room that I obtained in the medical-dental building opposite the Vancouver Hotel. He came, and he spoke seven times there. There was a handful of people who thought it worthwhile to come and listen. I had a house in Vancouver, a rented house, on Blenheim Street almost at Marine Drive, and it was in this house that Michael and I first met Uranda. Michael was only four or five years old, but he remembers. I had only recently had contact with this man. He came to the house. There was something about him that was very familiar. Of course I was busy racking my brains, which is the usual procedure, as to how this could be, because I had never met Uranda before. The mind usually, on such occasions, goes off on its round trips: “He must remind me of somebody.” I suppose in a way that's true. If there is a genuine focus of spirit the reminder is of oneself. But of course I was searching around, looking here and there to see if there wasn't someone who fitted the bill; but I never did find anybody.

I attended all the lectures; and at the time I felt rather desolate, because I could hear what was being said and it seemed, at the time, like an impossible task was being undertaken. I am sure we have all had that sensing at times as there has been an initial movement with the creative focus of spirit. Uranda provided this for me. The reason why such a necessity is there is that one may awaken oneself to one's own responsibility in the matter. It is not that it can all be left for somebody else. For a while this usually is the attitude. It took a while for me to begin to realize that I had a responsibility in the matter and so proceed to assume some of it. Fortunately, somewhere along the way it all fell into my lap, because Uranda was no longer here. That was a most wonderful blessing. Tragedy? That's what it was thought to be at the time, but it opened the door for something which had not occurred up until that point. And I was compelled, very specifically, to assume responsibility. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2015/08/facing-martin-cecil-august-7-1954-do.html]

It is much better to assume responsibility without having to be forced to do so. I can't say that I did it exactly unwillingly, because I knew it had to be done and couldn't do anything else. One needs to recognize that for oneself in whatever field of responsibility one may be, that what is required in your individual world will not be available in that world unless you provide it. It is very specific. I am sure there are many who are now awakening to this fact, so that the focus point of radiation in form on earth may expand, may become more intense. That is what draws resonant substance to itself. It isn't because someone stands up, like I'm doing now, behind a lectern and merely speaks words: “You should do this. You should do that.” It comes because there is somebody present, oneself in particular, who is actually doing it—not merely telling someone else to do it.

Mind you, there may be some sort of inspiration offered perhaps, so that others may be inclined to do it, let it happen, emerge out of the state which is present on earth with respect to all people, the human state. Usually when that is called in question a person will say, “Well there are some good things about that human state.” Maybe. By the same token there are a lot of bad things too. But it is the whole human state that is the revelation of failure. Everything, whether it is judged to be good or bad—it's all failure. It's all failure because the focus point of spirit—the spirit of Love, the spirit of Truth, the spirit of Life, the focus point of that—has been rejected, ignored, in favor of each individual doing what he or she pleases. That is considered to be freedom. “I have the right to do as I please, I have the right to think as I please”—human rights claimed.

But this claim—that one has the right to move in any other way than the way that the focus of spiritual radiation requires—is a wrong, not a right. There are manifold human wrongs which people claim, calling them rights. The truth of the matter is that we either accept the established design of things the way it is or we perish. And because human beings have refused to accept that, every generation has perished. Perishing is taken for granted. What really happens, at the time of what is called death, to that person? The world which human beings have made—I've called it the mind-made world—passes away insofar as that person is concerned; it's gone. They had it in consciousness to the last gasp probably, and then it's gone. That world passes away in every generation, for each individual in that generation. It is an unreal world.

There is a real world, but that has been lost, because everybody has been so busy sustaining their unreal worlds. This is considered necessary. One has to find one's place in this unreal world; one has to make one's mark in this unreal world; one has to prove somehow or other that one is worthwhile when in fact one isn't. It's impossible to prove! There is an endeavor to fool oneself on this score, but everybody has doubts.

The essential element that has been entirely lacking, as far as history goes back, is this focus point of spiritual radiation on earth. It hasn't actually been lacking, because it's always been there, but unknown to human beings, so that one has to have beliefs about it. There are all kinds of beliefs about it, but that achieves utterly nothing. The knowing comes because one accepts the fact of it for oneself. You can't accept the fact of it for anybody else. Many who go out and try to convert other people say, “You should accept the fact of it.” But the individual doesn't accept it for himself. The truth has remained unknown; therefore we have to believe this and believe that and believe the other thing. What an unreal state. What a counterfeit state! Yet it has become so thoroughly ingrained in people that it is taken for granted: this is the state. There isn’t any other state.” That is because one has chosen that. And human beings are inclined to go along with the crowd. Everybody does it, it must be right—majority rule. Does the majority make anything right? Of course not. One may be very, very sure that if there is a massive majority of human beings in favor of something, or against something, it certainly isn't the truth, because the human state has been maintained over all these millennia on the basis of a lie. The lie is that I can do as I please, provided I'm good—whatever that means—and things will be all right; and if you believe in God, God will be in favor of it. How anyone can maintain such a stance, involved in this counterfeit state, is really beyond belief!

We are well aware, because we see it so vividly portrayed in other people, that fear and greed are primary motivations in the human world. “Of course, not me.” But then when we stop to consider the matter, “Oh, I’m a bit fearful at times, and fear does determine the way I act and behave. And greed—well, modified, you know. I don’t aspire to be a billionaire yet.” “Oh, that will solve all problems, you know.” Do you believe that? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want more money. Did you ever meet anyone who didn’t want more money? Why? “Because it’s going to be better if I had more money.” Is it? Somebody has more money—is it better? No, they want more money; it isn’t enough. More, more, more!—which is clear evidence of the fact that the acquisition of the money in the first place wasn’t any answer to anything. It seems to be an answer right at the beginning, “because I need the money; otherwise I’m going to starve, I’ll have no place to lay my head. Therefore I need that money; therefore the government has a responsibility to hand it out to me.”

There is a state of affairs in Canada in general—I don’t know if it’s limited to Canada but it’s very obvious in Canada—where there is a great reluctance for anyone to take any responsibility at all. Someone else has to take the responsibility—hopefully the government, whatever the government is. “They’re responsible for me!” No, I’m responsible for me. It’s done in every field. It’s done in the health field, for instance. “The doctor is responsible for me.” No he isn’t. Who knows your experience better than you? Oh there are plenty of observers round about who will give you good advice—they think they know—but the only one who is in position to really know is oneself, no one else. Who has the backbone, the manhood or the wo- manhood, to say, “I am responsible. The government isn’t responsible. The medical doctor isn’t responsible. No one is responsible but me.”

I was talking about the attitude in Canada of weakness, softness; somebody else is always responsible. Whom can I sue? Of course that’s a popular pastime in the United States, but Canada isn’t exempt. But who is there who is responsible in fact, not in fancy? What finds expression through me determines what my world is, not what finds expression through somebody else but through me. I am responsible for my world. We can each say that easily enough, but it takes something to make it stick. It takes manhood, or womanhood, as the case may be.

The responsibility comes because of the spiritual focus of radiation, which is the base of one's own responsibility in the expression of living, that one may convey into one's world this radiation, which means that one is no longer controlled by everything that is going on round about. That's where fear and greed come in, of course, because all these things round about engender fear or, “ah!—make it possible for me to get something.” Most people are on the get, aren't they? Are we on the get? Is our purpose in life to get something? There are those who have very high aspirations in this regard; they're going to get the truth. Where are they going to get it? From somebody else? The only truth that anyone can experience is the truth that is expressed in his or her own living, not the truth that's gotten from somebody else.

In order for an awakening to come in an intelligible way to human beings, there must be an initial point of focus of spiritual radiation which will set the substance of character, if there is that substance present, to resonating. It is that resonation that begins to enable a person to see and understand, so that all the things of the human state cease to be the controlling factors in human existence. And that's what it is—just existence, not life. Human beings exist for a few years and then they're gone. Unless someone erects a statue, they're forgotten. But there is a purpose for mankind. We are all aware that that must be so, or mankind couldn't have lasted as long as it has.

That purpose begins to come within the range of awareness as there is resonant substance in oneself which begins to acquaint us with the fact that there is a focus of spiritual radiation. One sees that, apparently, beyond oneself, to start with. There must be that in fact on earth if there is to be any starting point at all. There is one point of focus, one invisible point of focus. Human beings talk glibly about one God. There is one God, one point of focus. They think of God as being a sort of miasma spread throughout the universe. That's a very human view of things—smoggy! In fact it all comes to point. There is one point, and out of that one point everything is coordinated. Everything fits together. There is a design. Human beings can't have their own way without destroying themselves. Well they've done a pretty good job of that, generation by generation.

We share the responsibility, individually, to allow this focus of radiation to be the expression in one's own living. It is differentiated in various ways, because there are unique people around. It can be differentiated beautifully, and because it is differentiated it is understood. But until it is differentiated it is not understood. It is understood only when one gives expression to this beautiful reality of being in one's daily living because one is no longer controlled by one's heredity, one's culture, all these things that are so worshipped in this world—not only in religion. One's religious beliefs are part of it. You can't have religious beliefs and know the truth at the same time. That should be obvious to anyone who thinks about it, because there are multitudes of religious beliefs, and the fact is that none of them are true. They may have some relatedness to the truth but, if clung to, immediately become non-truth. That sounds like a lie. The truth is only known when it's expressed, not when something is believed in. That doesn't make it true, does it? “Oh I believe this to be true.” Who cares? It doesn't make it true. The truth can't be known until it's expressed, and it's expressed in momentary living because the individual takes responsibility for doing it.

We share this opportunity in this particular setting now; but always it's present with us, so that we cease to be governed by all these human nature states; good states they are, undoubtedly. But we were enjoined not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil—it would bring death. Did anybody notice that there's dying around here? Why? Because of that. There is another way. There is another state, which has been totally excluded from human experience so that they have to believe that there must be something after I'm dead. Why not something while I'm alive? Wouldn't that be more sensible?

So we share the opportunity of revealing the radiant focus of spirit on earth when we are expressing it. If we are expressing it we find that we are put together. Love one another. "Oh I'm going to try to love my neighbor; it's going to be a tough task but I'll try." That's not love. Love doesn't come because of trying. It comes because one totally resonates with the radiant expression of the spirit of Love and of Truth and of Life. That is what finds expression, and there is no longer the control of religious belief, no longer the control of culture, no longer the control of any of these human things which human beings worship—idols, maintaining the hell of conflict. The truth is one, and as one expresses that, one fits with everybody who expresses the truth. And there is love consequently one for another, not because one tries but because that is the experience. We may share this, now and always.

All of us are under the necessity of living in the world the way it is, but there is no necessity to be governed by the world the way it is in our own individual expression of living; no longer to be governed by all the antics of politics, for instance, of religious belief, of culture, of all the hereditary influences which have been present in us. Yes, we’re in the world. But why let these things govern the expression of our living when equally, even more so, the spirit of the one point of focus, the spirit of the King, is freely available?

Giving expression to that, we find ourselves put together in the design of life, not the way we want it but the way it is. And if we are participating in the design of life we live—if we’re not we die. Very simple. Apparently everybody has agreed to die, in other words to reject the way of life. Now we begin to awaken to an understanding of the fact of it. But it isn’t a fancy belief; it’s a practical experience. What is going to control our thinking, our speaking and our acting? What is going to father that? We share the opportunity of letting the fathering be done by the One who heretofore has been an invisible King, an invisible point of focus. Let Him become visible! Christians are always talking about the second coming of Christ, after all. Why not let it happen then? "Well I'm not going to let it happen unless it comes through my church." How rediculous. It comes through one’s own living, and it only comes through one’s own living to the extent that these controls in the man-made, mind-made world cease to govern the way we express, behave and live.

The Halo

The  Halo

Radiance  and  Protection

Martin Cecil   February 21, 1982  am

“The spiritual expression plane should manifest as a Spirit of Gentle Benediction over all,

which is above and beyond those things that tend to produce petty reactions, bickerings and inharmonies.

That spiritual expression plane of our trinity of manifestation should be as a Halo, as a Glow of Heavenly Light,

that rests benignly over and around each member of this Unit, and all that we think and say and do.”

Uranda 1949

Disregarding the arbitrary time differential, which is merely based upon the rotation of the earth, we may find ourselves, to the extent of our openness and willingness, with one accord in one place. The one place is the place of the spirit of God, where accord or agreement is naturally known.

This agreement and accord and unification is made easily possible by reason of what we are sharing now through the sound of my voice and the words which I speak. These words carry authority. There are those who recognize the authority and consequently understand and agree with the words. I trust that you who are present this morning may be counted in this number. Others may recognize the authority but disagree with the words. There are those also who agree with the words but deny the authority, and of course beyond these there are those who neither recognize the authority nor understand the words nor agree with them. So we come back to the first classification: those who are aware of the authority and who consequently understand and agree with the words.

The word agreement perhaps does not define in human consciousness what exactly it is that I have reference to when considering the matter of being with one accord in one place. Most human beings have the experience, as they think, of agreeing with someone from time to time, but this is usually a rather surface thing, and the right to disagree is prominent in consciousness. We are aware that only agreement can be known when there is a sharing of the experience of the One Spirit. The attempt to agree merely upon external forms never succeeds beyond a certain rather limited point, but in spirit there may be absolute agreement, and it is this absolute agreement that is essential to the creative process. By the same token disagreement ensures the destructive process. We are very much aware, in our own experience and in our observation of the world around us, that there is a very great deal of disagreement. There is also, of course, consequently a very great deal of destructiveness. Few have recognized that the destructiveness springs from the disagreement. The common human habit, for the destructive disasters that put in an appearance from time to time, is to try to find someone to blame, a scapegoat; but when we come right down to it the point of origination for the destructiveness always stems from disagreement. We need to clearly see not only that disagreement brings disaster but that true agreement makes sure that what unfolds will be creative. Every time any of us indulge in reactionary disagreement with each other we are, in that moment, denying the spirit and establishing a cause of disaster. The disagreements may seem to be about small things, but it makes very little difference as to what they are about—it is the fact of disagreement that is the destructive cause.

We should be delighted to know that the reality of agreement brings forth the wonder and the beauty and the glory of all things made new. Here is the base of the creative process. We have, ourselves, recognized these things, been aware of the truth of the Master’s words when He said, “If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing ... it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” The trick is to agree on earth. There can only be agreement on earth, true agreement, about what should be done, not about what human beings might want to be done, because the agreement is established in the spirit of God and the spirit of God is the source of authority—the authority of words which may be spoken, of thoughts which may be thought, of feelings which may be experienced, of actions which may be brought into form. We are here to exemplify what it means to agree on earth as touching the things of the spirit of God. This is what needs naturally to be done, so that all things may work together to perfection in the creative fulfilment of Divine Purpose.

Spiritual movement is concerned primarily with a process of unification, of agreement consciously known. The authority of the Word which is proclaimed through words and in other ways is made possible by reason of conscious action. The authority remains dim and unfocused, nobody being quite sure of it, until it comes to point consciously and is proclaimed consciously. This relates to the conscious levels of the human mind, which are designed to allow the authority and the direction of God to be brought to focus in action on earth. This is not the conscious mind merely of one individual, or a few individuals, but the conscious mind of the whole body of mankind, for man indeed was made in the image and likeness of God, so that God could be proclaimed on earth and His creative action known on earth in a direct and specific way. The authority of the Son is necessary first if the power of the Holy Ghost is to be a reality in human experience. The power of the Holy Ghost properly relates to the unconscious levels of mind. We have a rather clear awareness that the unconscious levels of the mind of mankind could not be classified as the Holy Ghost—rather, the unholy ghost. Nevertheless here is the facility for the creative movement of the Holy Ghost. Here is the facility in the unconscious levels of mind and here is the realm of power—the power of the Holy Ghost. There is a certain power to the unholy ghost; this is the destructive power based in disagreement.

The fundamental disagreement, initially speaking, is a disagreement with the LORD. This engenders disagreement between people, between groups of people, between nations. The world is filled with violence in consequence; the lack of agreement is very obvious. It is made very obvious by reason of the nature of the reports that come to us of goings-on. What is considered to be news is based in an adversary situation of some kind, a proclamation of disagreement, so that the news media are always filled with the evidences of disagreement. There are evidences of this everywhere—even in our own immediate experience, so we could not deny that the world is filled with disagreement. However the fact of a basic agreement emerging is overlooked on this basis; at least it’s not reported, because it is not considered to be news. If two people agree I think that should be news—it’s a rare occurrence! But there is a tendency to get into habit patterns and constantly reiterate the same things over and over and over again. It gets deadly dull, so the disagreements have to be more and more violent to claim people’s attention, because in effect anyone can say, “Well we know about that without having it reported in the newspapers.” But very few people have much conscious awareness of the extent of agreement that is also present—in other words the extent to which the spirit of God is already in motion.

The spirit of God is in motion relative to the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. It is the same spirit in motion, so there is no disagreement there. And if there is the experience of that movement of spirit consciously and unconsciously, the individual knows the reality of agreement within himself or herself. If there are those who know this agreement within themselves, then they will find the same agreement relative to each other. We can have a very good idea of the extent of our internal agreement as reflected by our external relationships. Of course this is not merely a surface thing, so that we smile at people and say, “Good morning. Isn’t it a nice day.” It goes deeper than that presumably, so that the agreement is known even if we don’t say anything, even if we don’t smile. Yet how people keep judging each other by the looks on their faces. Presumably if there is internal agreement, that will tend to be reflected in the individual’s visage and in the way he behaves.

But it is the authority which rightly centers in the conscious mind that makes possible the generation of the substance of agreement. We have spoken of the substance of agreement before; agreement cannot be known without it, and this includes something occurring also unconsciously. We might say, to define it a little more directly, agreement between heart and mind. But this will emerge into experience, the substance of it will be generated increasingly, as there is a sense, an awareness, of authority, consciously speaking. I think a lot of our experience has been based in an unconscious idea of authority. We say hopefully, “Things will work out. Everything’s under control. It’s all right.” Splendid. I suspect it is: “God is the Ruler yet.” But who really knows it? We begin to know it to the extent that there is this absolute attitude consciously. Various things may put in an appearance from the unconscious levels of mind which would distract. Such things become more subtle as time goes on—if it were possible, capable of deceiving the very elect. Fortunately it isn’t possible and we discover who those are, because it is those who reveal the fact that it is impossible to be deceived, and this stable foundation in actual experience comes because of a choice that has been made consciously, regardless of what the unholy ghost says.

The unholy ghost erupts into the level of the conscious mind on occasion in very subtle ways. What is offered is clothed in robes of light in such case. But what is it that maintains the integrity, consciously speaking? It certainly isn’t all the theories and concepts and ideas that human beings have as to how things might be made better in human experience. If you watch the TV you will be constantly assailed by all these wonderful things that are going to improve the lot of human beings on earth. Do you think that is really what is required? I think if it were possible to satisfy all human beings by reason of an improved lot on earth—and I am sure you would agree with me that that would be very doubtful—then God would be defeated. We can all be healthy, we can all be peaceful; we can all be all these wonderful things by our own brilliance, by our own efforts, by all our wonderful discoveries, so that we make use of things to produce this glorious fulfilment for mankind! Who is speaking, if not that old serpent called the devil and satan? It looks so good—but there is the right choice, consciously speaking, to be made. And what does that choice relate to if not to the spirit of God, which is the authority of God revealed through the Word, and the words which proclaim the Word? [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2018/08/from-culture-and-language-of-kingdom.html] Here is the very simple choice. It’s easy for human beings to be distracted by so many seemingly valid things, good things—if we just knew a little more about this or about that, then we would have it made! But who would have it made? Certainly it would not be made by God.

So there are those who acknowledge the authority of the Word, understand and agree with the words. These are the ones who provide what is necessary for the creative achievement that is to occur in the world. Here is the reality of agreement by which what needs to be done is done spiritually speaking—to weave a Halo around the earth. Halos are usually around the head. They are not around the arm. There may be these fancy auras around the arm, around the body, and seemingly associated with the head; but a Halo relates to the head very specifically, to the conscious mind, to the Son consciousness, those who acknowledge the authority of the Word because they speak the Word themselves and their words are a proclamation to this effect. There are those who are present in our unified gathering today who might come into this classification so that the world may be encircled in this way.

It is interesting to note that for the last while there has been very little variation in the numbers of those who are included on our mailing lists, but from my standpoint there has been a vast increase of emissaries. The mere fact of being on the mailing list of course doesn’t establish anything particularly except that the individual will receive the mailings. But there are those who are making themselves increasingly known, very often directly to me, that they are emissaries of divine light. We’ve had so few of these on earth for a long time, and relative to the population of the world there are very few yet; but I think that’s all right. I recall the story of Gideon and his troop. He had to whittle them down, didn’t he, before he had those who could be trusted. Now this is the point. From whatever base it is that is established—here in a particular sense, but of course the base that is established on this North American continent in a larger way—here should be the immovable mass, so that the irresistible force may go forth to accomplish that whereunto it is sent around the world, all relating primarily at the moment to the conscious mind of the body of mankind. You can’t have a conscious mind without a subconscious mind, so that is included; but the choice can only be made consciously and agreed to unconsciously. So until it is made consciously there is nothing to agree to insofar as the unconscious mind of humanity is concerned.

We have some awareness of the vast numbers of those who might be particularly related to the unconscious levels of the mind of humanity. There has been a longing in these in a very wide sense for the appearance of the authority of the Son. They have been disappointed a number of times already because the one who put in an appearance, in the conqueror role as a rule, hardly could be said to be the Son. But finally, if there is a focus of the conscious mind present, the Son is present, or may be present, by reason of this, and there is something toward which the unconscious mind of humanity may orient. How does it orient? Well unconsciously, if it’s the unconscious mind. However, obviously there is, what shall we call it, a twilight zone between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind, where things of the unconscious are close to the surface of consciousness; and so we find this beginning to occur relative to various aspects of the population of the body of mankind who are just discerning, sensing, the presence of the Son. Presumably there will be a certain amount of skepticism involved because of prior disappointment, but clearly there can only be a fulfilment in the right way to the extent that the Son is present, that there is something absolute, consciously absolute, that cannot be tempted, that cannot be distracted, by all the glorious kingdoms of this world. And those kingdoms, you know, nowadays reach out into space, that strange envelope that seems to enfold the earth and indeed the solar system.

There is a short passage here out of the 3rd chapter of Revelation which may be seen in the context of our own experience: “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

“I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation.” I think probably that might be better translated “keep thee from succumbing to the hour of temptation,” because that comes upon the world and, after all, that’s where we are. Every individual will be tried, in other words, for him- or herself. Let us be careful not to be overly concerned with respect to others in this regard—personally we are tried, and we are responsible for that. We can’t be responsible for the attitudes taken by others. If we get involved with those attitudes we ourselves will fail. It has been said that God is no respecter of persons. If there is an acceptance of the spirit of God in our own living we can be no respecter of persons: each individual will prove him- or herself out. This has been happening all along the way, hasn’t it? Do you think the job has finally been done: everybody is now absolutely tried and true? I don’t think so yet. There’s a bit more burning to be done. Let us not fool ourselves that it is not going to happen. It is happening now.

I don’t say these things to make anyone afraid. It is said that perfect love casts out fear anyway; so there you are, no problem! But if you become involved with something other than love, then look out! But love, how? Love, as this centers in the authority of the Word and the words which proclaim the Word. Here is the vital provision that has been made on earth by the Lord. There have been some words here in the Bible, and other scriptures, which have been available to human beings for a long time. It hasn’t done them all that much good. But there is the reality of the living Word in the present moment now and this is what provides the point of centering, the point of love. If that is absolute there is no problem. If it isn’t, so that there is a little doubt, a little sucking of teeth, whatever people do when they doubt, then you’re not very safe.

There is a level where one may make a conscious choice. Where else but at the level of the conscious mind? And when that choice is absolute—here is the point of centering, here is my loyalty absolutely—then the unconscious mind has something to orient to and the Holy Ghost rises up through the unconscious mind and there is power to achieve whatever it is that is necessary. It’s the only way it works. Human beings in general have been trying to get around that for a long time. It becomes more and more obvious in these days, very largely because there begins to be the reality of a focus of authority of the conscious mind, not limited to one or two people but including increasing numbers.

I am concerned particularly with this as it relates to people, that all may have the opportunity to make a deliberate conscious choice, in a clear awareness that there are those things which rise up, sometimes quite powerfully seemingly, out of the unconscious levels, seeking to sow the seeds of fear and doubt and uncertainty and to generate reactions of various sorts. From the human standpoint it might be said that it would be easy to succumb. We have such a beautiful example of absoluteness in the story of the Master in His experience with what are called the temptations in the wilderness—no equivocation, no: “Well perhaps we might make a little bread out of stones, I suppose. Or if I don’t go too high up on the pinnacle of the temple maybe I can safely cast myself down. Or if I don’t aspire with too much ambition to the glories of this world it will be all right.” Do you think so, really?

You will note in the story as it has come down to us, for a reason presumably, there was something absolute each time. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God … Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Get thee hence, Satan ... Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve”—a conscious choice, but there is an available focus point, so that it may be held absolutely steady. It has never been done on earth, even in whatever measure it may have been done in the past, without a manifest focus point; otherwise everybody has the idea that they can go their own way, being true to their own conscience, as they might put it. But then consciences are not very reliable, because they are very largely based in human heredity of various sorts. No, it is the spirit of God, something that has been very largely foreign to human experience.

So a focus is provided and we see ourselves as being associated with that focus, giving it form on earth so that it may be available to the children of men. That’s the only chance they have. That has seemed like too big a thing for many. It has been the producer of doubts: “How? It couldn’t be me!” Well who is the “me” that it is then? As long as everybody says that, there isn’t any; there isn’t any way. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” So we share in providing now the immovable mass of absolute substance from which the irresistible force may proceed to go forth, to weave, to accomplish, what is essential in the fulfilment of the purposes of the Lord. And let no one imagine that he understands fully what those purposes are. Just let’s move with the spirit and let it be done. The mind certainly doesn’t have to know everything; it couldn’t know everything anyhow. So we share in providing this rock, and then from this rock springs the irresistible force by which all things are made new, by which the Holy Ghost may be released in the experience of human beings the world around, rising up in response to what at the moment is not seen consciously but sensed nevertheless. There is a level of those who represent the unconscious mind of humanity, where there begins to be a little awareness, the level of the unconscious that is closest to the conscious; something is seen there. As the union begins to occur the power is released and the greater fulfilment comes, something that no human being can in fact prevent.

I delight to have shared this morning hour with you. It’s good to establish the basis for conscious agreement in this way relative to what it is that is now happening and which shall be in the days to come. How delightful to be with one accord in one place in this hour, but what a continuing delight it is to be with one accord in one place in every hour which is yet to come. Here is the immovable mass once this is so. As there is an immovable mass in this sense there can be the irresistible force, and if that force is in fact irresistible certainly the job gets done, a job which we are here to do together in agreement. Glory to God in the highest of our understanding, based in the authority of the spirit of the living God.

The Shadow of the Almighty is properly the Spiritual Expression Plane of Being,

which overshadows all and permeates with the Spirit all things of mind and body —

and of the whole material realm which respond thereto.

There are various ways by which a specific focalization of Identity might be established in this regard,

but for the purposes of the Sanctuary and this cycle we shall recognize Grace in this focalization

as being the Spirit of Benediction — Blessing.

The Benediction is a Blessing and properly contains within it all Blessing.

So the Spirit of Benediction is seen as the Spirit of Blessing manifesting in all things —

for Blessing must be the actuality of the Spirit of the Living Christ made manifest in form.

So, having recognized the Spirit of Benediction,

we come next within the scope of the Nucleus to the focalization of the Second Plane —

Therefore, with respect to this focalization within the Nucleus,

we recognize and acknowledge the Spirit of the Single Eye.

The Coming Forth Of The Angel

The  Coming  Forth  Of  The  Angel

Martin Cecil   August 29, 1976

Many of you know Emily Marks of 100 Mile House. She completed her time of ministry on earth earlier this evening. I, of course, have known Emily for many, many years, and I have counted her a close friend. And she has been a friend to many others, besides carrying a very vital responsibility in the ministry of the Lord on earth. She has done this faithfully over the years in various fields, providing a point of stability, particularly in the core of our program at the “100.” Her husband, Gordon, left this sphere of things a number of years ago, having played his part. Of course, Ross is their son, and Carolyn Valcourt their daughter. They have a number of grandchildren. And so, the time came for this blessed one to leave her particular responsibilities here. Insofar as she was concerned, she was ready to depart. This was simply another circumstance to be handled in spiritual expression. There were those on hand, particularly Lloyd Meeker these last number of days, to provide enfoldment. Such assistance is necessary in the vibratory sense, so that such an outworking can come easily and naturally in the circumstances as they now are in the world.

We have come to understand these things, and while there may be a certain sadness that a particular person is not present anymore to participate in what we are doing, we are quite willing that what is right and proper should occur when it is right and proper to occur. It is not such a big deal in our awareness as it is with human beings in earthly orientation. In earthly orientation, when such an event occurs, it seems to be such a very final thing. It may be said to be a final thing insofar as the remaining physical substance is concerned—at least in that particular form—but in heavenly orientation we are associated with the angel of the Lord who was incarnating in that form; and we delight in the reality of the Hosts of Heaven who include far more who are not incarnate on earth than are. We should have a very keen consciousness of what really is back of us. Sometimes God is thought of as being just a very big man. If the idea does come to focus in this way, then it would be difficult for this big man to be aware of everything that was going on, everything that is going on at the same time. The awareness of God in this regard is based in the fact of the Hosts of Heaven, the focalizations, the angelic focalizations of deity, who are quite adequate to cover the whole range—there are enough to go around, in other words. And it is not a big man trying to rush hither and yon, but there are focalizations of consciousness everywhere, encompassing everything.

For those who are earthly-oriented, the loss of someone close is a rather hard experience. I was reading an article somewhere recently, endeavoring to outline how a person might more easily handle grief. One suggestion was that, contrary to the tendency to try to keep a stiff upper lip and not show anything very much, it would be advisable to give expression to the grief. And for those who are trapped in earthly orientation this may be a wise suggestion. There is more to it, actually, than getting something out of one’s system, because many cords of connection are woven between human beings. We all have a network of these connections going out to different people—they are pneumaplasmic cords—and if someone leaves this manifest state, then those cords of connection which were externally woven need to be dissolved; otherwise one may find oneself dragging a ghost around.

One of the ways of dissolving these vibrational cords is through the expression of grief. In some cultures people can be hired to express grief at funerals. This may seem to be rather a primitive, or at best peculiar, habit, but of course there was a reason for it. These people had no personal involvement with the departed, so that they could stand in for those who did by accepting their grief into themselves and making a display of it. If this was done actually, and it wasn’t just an act, then this also is a way of clearing the vibrational pattern, so that those who remain might be free to continue to live their own lives. Now, all this sort of thing is worked out by human beings trapped in earthly orientation.

We ourselves may see that there are these vibrational connections we have with people. I just mentioned my personal friendship with Emily, which obviously wove cords of connection between us. I am not the only one in this regard. There is a need to let these things dissolve, because they are of no more purpose in what we are doing on earth. As people grow older there is rather an inclination to hold on to these vibrational connections, and pretty soon a person will get trussed up like a mummy, in these vibrational cords which reach out to nothing. I say nothing because there is no entity to which they are attached. But if a person maintains connections in this sense, his own life force is released over these connections and the ghosts are kept alive. An older person can have quite an accumulation of ghosts after a while, to weigh him down, to sap his life force. In such case there is attunement to the dead. There are memory elements involved here, but it isn’t attunement with the real person, because the real person was the person of heavenly heredity; and that real person is no longer present in form on earth. But the vibratory connections were with the form through pneumaplasm. The form is disintegrating, the pneumaplasm is disintegrating—rightly, if one allows it to do so, but some are unwise enough to live on their memories; in other words, to let their own life force sustain life in the ghosts. In such a situation a person becomes useless.

So, as we move along in our fields of ministry on earth, we will find ourselves with these vibrational attachments to those who are no longer here. Now, sometimes there is a sense on the part of some that if they forgot they would somehow be being disloyal to the person involved. That may seem to be so from the standpoint of earthly orientation. From the standpoint of heavenly orientation we can forget the earthly manifestation, because the fact of the matter is we remember, as may be necessary, the reality of the angel through the spirit which we knew. We don’t have to feel any sadness in that regard. The angel is fit and well. If we do maintain earthly attachments it will be because of our own self-centeredness. So, we see the wisdom of allowing vibrational attachments to those who have left this sphere of things to be as rapidly dissolved as possible. And there’s no disloyalty involved in this.

In earthly orientation we think of this person as being my father, and someone else my uncle, and whatever, aunt, mother, sister, brother, relative, cousin; but from the divine standpoint it’s not that at all. That was merely a role that was played along the way by someone; and from the standpoint of our own angelic nature, we know that someone as he or she really is and not on the basis of the particular role that was played. Forget the role; it is the person who played it that is important. And the person who played it is around yet. Usually when someone dies they say, “Oh, he passed away.” Who passed away? Well, the physical form is in the process of passing away.

Actually, what happened was the angel came forth, the true person came forth. The physical form would no longer accommodate the coming forth, so it fell away. Having no physical form, the rest of us are inclined to think that something went away, when in actual fact something came forth. And if you have been allowing some measure of spiritual expression to be your experience, and you have been present at the point where spirit is separated from form in someone, you will be very keenly aware of the coming forth. There will be a sense of glory at that point, an awareness of something which had been restricted in one’s experience released, no longer hemmed in. Obviously, something needs to be done with the physical form that remains, and that should be handled decently and in order—but it’s not the person; the person is the life. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2019/08/from-martin-cecil-august-30-1976-class.html]

The angel came forth. When the physical form can no longer accommodate that coming forth it falls away. In the true state the coming forth of the angel is at the same time the transmutation of the physical form. Now, there is a transmutation occurring. Something had to be worked out over a period of time insofar as this blessed one whom I have just mentioned was concerned. What should rightly ascend needed to ascend. In the proper outworking of things in these days, that is worked out; and there are those on hand providing what we would call attunements, in a certain way, to let it happen easily. Something is being worked out decently and in order. And what can ascend should ascend, and does so, over the period of time that it is being worked out. Then, when the point of separation between spirit and form occurs, the form, the flesh, the dust that is left, constitutes what couldn’t ascend. That’s all that’s left—the ash, the ash of the fires of transmutation. And so, the angel comes forth, encompassing all that could ascend, and the ash is left.

As we begin to see and know these things because of our own spiritual expression, what is there really to be sad about? Has anything been lost? Is the real person any less than before the event? So, we see things as they really are, and such vibrational connections as may have been woven between us and the other person, we are quite willing to let dissolve; we don’t dwell on memory. That is living in an imaginary realm, in a realm that doesn’t exist, and pretty soon, if we do that, we don’t exist either. Let us be true to the truth of the person who came forth, and let us be true to the truth of ourselves. We are fellow angels, or fellow servants, whether incarnate or not. Being incarnate, as we are now, we have a challenge before us, and that challenge includes the handling of all circumstances which may arise, wisely in spiritual expression.

I have spoken of this particular circumstance, which is constantly arising for people everywhere, because there is a need to handle it correctly, whether we are the principal in the circumstance or whether we are one of those who is providing the proper enfoldment. In both cases it is a circumstance to be handled in spiritual expression. And we do not necessarily look upon it as such an exceedingly exceptional circumstance; it’s one of many. It is an ultimate circumstance for each one, as things now are, but it is one of many other circumstances which we are required to handle before that one. And if we handle our momentary circumstances as we should, in spiritual expression, we will be able to handle that one when it comes.

We are concerned in this matter of spiritual expression, providing positive radiation in our respective fields of responsibility; and because we do that, we share unified radiation in the larger field relating to the world as a whole. We are to be fruitful in this regard, so that we may replenish the earth. What with? We may say spirit; but let’s be a little more specific—the spirit of life, the spirit of life which is characterized by love and truth. It is characterized by control. “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.” Let the control of life be extended.

The immediate form in which that control of life may be extended is provided by our own individual physical bodies. The evidence of life is present and is the core for the expression of life in our total creative field, the further environment which is around us. The environment that is around us, and which includes our physical forms, is distorted in various ways. It has long been subject to human manipulation in earthly orientation. And yet, there is life present in the Core of your world. Each individual has responsibility for his own world. You are conscious of many things that are present in your world—people, circumstances. You are conscious of things that are close to you, you are also conscious of some things that are further afield, but you recognize, I am sure, that there is vastly more in your field of responsibility than you are presently conscious of. And yet, we have the responsibility for this world. Even now, with the few in number who are beginning to experience a greater release of spiritual expression, the world around us is fairly well covered, isn’t it? If we knew all that was present in the consciousness of all concerned, at all levels, we would find that there were not many people on earth who were excluded, and there would not be many living creatures, living forms, who were not also included.

“Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it.” Let the life which is evident in your physical form permeate increasingly the creative field around you. It does so to some extent anyway. These vibrational cords of which I have been speaking connect you up with the world around you in various ways. They are based in the generation of pneumaplasm, but for the most part heretofore there has been a sharing of earthly orientation with others, and so life as it really is hasn’t been shared by reason of these vibrational cords. Human beings in earthly orientation tend to be parasites; they feed on each other. It’s not a very wholesome sight, but that’s the way it is. We are advised to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. Don’t feed off the earth, don’t feed off other people, but let the true expression of life in you as an individual begin to move out beyond your physical body. Most people try to trap it in their own physical bodies; they think it’s running out on them, they want to get it back.

When we experience heavenly orientation we stand at the point from which life proceeds, to be born in this physical form, but also to be born in what is around us—because we are fruitful, we bear the fruit of life as it really is, characterized by love and truth. This may permeate our environment, because, as we are true to ourselves in spiritual expression, there will be the generation of increasing pneumaplasm, increasing connections of such a consistency that life as it really is may be released to influence whatever it is that is present in one’s field of responsibility. I spoke of this Chapel this morning as being a beautiful structure. Its form and dimensions have a special significance—not a significance figured out by the human mind and incorporated into the plans, but a significance that is there nevertheless. This Chapel, insofar as those who are gathered here for a service this evening, should be an extension of those who are here present. If you are alive the Chapel should be alive, because the very substance of it is permeated by your spirit, and then the shape and dimension have an opportunity to become meaningful in the release of creative radiation.

This extension of ourselves must eventually include the whole world, but we don’t try leaping out into the world to get it corralled somehow. It isn’t a matter of trying to get hold of anyone or anything. It’s a matter of allowing spirit, which is finding actual and accurate expression through us, to extend beyond us, so that we’re not constantly thinking of our own physical bodies as being the end and aim of any life there may be around. The life of the physical body is a very small thing actually, because our real body extends much further. And that life needs to permeate whatever is contained in our total body. We may make note of how this can work in more or less mundane experience.

A person who is really capable of operating a typewriter finds that the particular typewriter which is their own becomes an extension of themselves. If you merely think of a typewriter as a machine, and that you can pound away at it, it’ll probably let you down. The same situation is true with respect to those who drive cars—a car should be an extension of the person who is driving it, so that the life of the person who drives it permeates that mechanism and enfolds that mechanism. All too many people think of cars as chunks of machinery. They’re not mechanically inclined, they don’t understand how it works, and they don’t care, really, just so long as it gets them from here to there. But they find pretty soon that it doesn’t get them from here to there. If you’re driving it, in that moment it’s your car. You’re responsible for it. You’re responsible for its total operation, whether you understand anything about mechanics or not, because it is an extension of your own life; it is enfolded, it’s permeated, by what you are. If everyone who drove cars had this attitude and were capable in this regard, I suspect that many cars would last a lot longer than they do.

Never think of anything that you use just as a chunk of substance. Insofar as you are concerned it is an extension of yourself. People are a little inclined to treat the things they use in the same way that they treat their own bodies, with a good deal of disrespect. Let us love ourselves—all that is around us in the field of our responsibility is a part of what we are in an external sense. We accept it as our responsibility—not only the things, but the people too. There are some who are quite good at handling things but not so good in handling people. There is a tendency, perhaps, to want people to behave the way one thinks they should be behaving, to do what one thinks they should be doing, the way one thinks they should be doing it. Maybe, if we are responsible to someone else in what we are doing, we should consider what their attitude is, their idea, their view as to how it should be done; that would be very correct. But we’re not here to manipulate people or to impose things on people; we’re simply here to be fruitful in spiritual expression, to handle the situation exactly the way it is.

If you come into a situation and you say, “Oh, there’s a person there who’s not behaving just the way I think he should, and there’s someone else there not doing his job,” and all the rest of it, and you begin to throw your weight around and try to get it to work, you’ll probably be in trouble. The point is that these people are doing whatever they’re doing; that’s the state of affairs, whether you like it or not, whether you think it’s right or not, or anything else. It’s the way it is. And we are concerned to function in relationship to things as they are; not with respect to things as we think they ought to be, or as we’d like them to be, or as we’re going to get them to be in a minute, but with things as they are. How do we handle this situation in our own expression of spirit in this moment? What is it that we are multiplying? What sort of fruit are we bearing into this situation? Because it is this spiritual expression, the positive action of it, which does what is necessary. We learn to trust that, so that we’re right in the situation. And we’re not condemning anyone or criticizing anyone or thinking that someone should behave some other way.

What is your behavior in spiritual expression, released through the role that you are playing in that situation? That’s the only question. And when there is spiritual expression, that will be inspiration. It will be inspiration to some to let go of their structured states, and they will bob up to the surface and take a lovely breath of fresh air. It’s so good when one does that, isn’t it? Others will cling doggedly to their structures—until they can’t hold their breath anymore. Some people, of course, insist on drowning, but it’s their own choice in the matter. So, we begin to pour life into all that is around us.

I stand here before this lectern. I don’t think too much particularly about the lectern, but I’m very conscious of the fact that it is an extension of me in this particular situation. It is enfolded and permeated by my spirit in this moment, and so is everything else that is present here: the whole structure and beyond. When as individuals we begin to see everything in our environment in this way, then we may begin to participate in letting things be brought to life. The original responsibility of man was to allow this to happen, so that all that surrounded him revealed the true design of being and was under control and alive. Now, what human beings construct in earthly orientation is condemned to death. That’s right, isn’t it? From the moment it is constructed it’s condemned to disintegrate. Everything man makes he condemns to death. Is that being fruitful, and multiplying, and replenishing the earth? The earth has become a great graveyard. Well, this is the way it is. We are under the necessity of living in this graveyard. We’re not going to pout, taking the attitude we’re not going to do a thing until it changes into the Garden of Eden. We’re not going to say, “I can’t be expected to put up with all this nonsense here.” Well, what else are you going to do? You can complain about it, but that won’t help. And it isn’t just a matter of putting up with it anyway; it’s a matter of welcoming what is present and imbuing it with our life, that the world may rise up.

We will find that, in actual fact, immanent in everything is all that is necessary to allow the manifestation of the Garden of God on earth. We need not think of it solely in terms of animals and vegetation. Everything! The very substance of this structure in which we now are is ready to sing before the Lord; not simply because we sing inside it, but because the composition, the material composition of things, is of a vibratory nature, and when it manifests in the true design, it brings forth something beautiful. Even in the realm of the arts, where human beings have some idea that they are somehow exalted, there is an endeavor to make music, for instance; you have to make music. Well, presumably the artist has a little different attitude in that regard, but he does require a particular kind of an implement to do it, whether a violin or a trumpet or whatever, which is an endeavor to make that substance do what the human being wants it to do. Well, perhaps at the moment, the way things are, it is the best we can do; but we ourselves need to see that the true expression of artistry, whether through music or any other level of art, is rightly a living experience.

In the Psalms, the psalmist talks about the trees clapping their hands. That’s right. There is the release of a vibrancy which occurs when man comes back into his place. It has remained unknown and unknowable as long as he’s been out of it. And he has long forgotten what went before, although there may be some sort of a feeling memory at times. But when there is the true expression of life through human beings, individually and together, that brings things together. It was the true expression of life through each one of you sitting here that brought your physical body together. Magic, isn’t it? But it does it just the same. Let that be extended beyond the physical body. And we may know that it is useless to try to somehow perfect our physical bodies when we ignore all the rest of our body. The wholeness of the individual physical body is impossible without the wholeness of the whole, because it’s a part of the whole; it can’t be whole all on its own. We should be very much concerned with all the rest of our body, allowing what we are to be true, right and perfect in expression, in the way we think, in what moves through our minds, and in the way we feel. We’re no longer subject to feeling. Feeling is allowed to flow as it should, as it will in heavenly orientation—right in our words and right in our actions.

And behold, what is around us begins to be filled with life. Anything you touch, anything that you use, is touched and used in the fulfilment of your spiritual purpose on earth. Whether you pick up a comb to comb your hair or a razor to shave your face, or whatever, you do nothing that is outside of spiritual expression. And when this is so, everything begins to be imbued with your life. Then what miracles can occur that eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, when we are willing to let it work the way it does! But we couldn’t let it work that way except there be heavenly orientation, with consequent spiritual expression, totally so in our living—no time out from living! Then the angel comes forth, accommodated by the living facility that is available for that accommodation. And that coming forth is no longer correlated, as it now is, with what is called death. It is correlated with life, the increase of life, the intensification of life, the Glory of Life.

I said there is a sense of glory, even when the physical form is no longer of use, in the coming forth of the angel. But how much more glory there is when there is a facility which is capable of accommodating what is to come forth. Let us let that facility be present and usable because we let it be used in our daily living, moment by moment, in relationship to everything. Glory to God in the highest. The effect of that is peace on earth.

We’ve been privileged to share some coming forth this evening, the coming forth of life, the outpouring of the spirit, that that spirit may fill this Holy Place and all the substance of it and shine round about—not only in this little valley here but throughout the whole earth, which, after all, is connected to this little valley. In these few moments of silence is there not the sensing of something vast and powerful?—sensing of the spirit of the living God?
