I Am The Gate

I  Am  The  Gate

Martin Cecil  January 18, 1981

Geoff Tisch read Jehovah,

while twelve men chanted the chorus,

extending the vowels and using them to form a round:

Shout for joy

Sons and daughters of God

We are His artistry on earth

And the power of him

Now unsheathed

Jehovah  Jehovah  Jehovah

Live our truth

Sons and daughters of God

We are his blessing

And water for the thirst of men

Jehovah  Jehovah  Jehovah

Independent, interdependent

Sons and daughters of God

We are the knowing to be known

And the clarion trumpets of His joy

Jehovah  Jehovah  Jehovah

Sound our love

Sons and daughters of God

We are His compatriots in the Kingdom

Grace revealed—radiant

Jehovah  Jehovah  Jehovah

Martin Cecil — The sons and daughters of God are incarnate on earth in human form. There would be no human beings on the face of the earth if it were not so. These angels of the Lord have been hidden and obscured by the antics of human beings who were totally unconscious of the truth. The spirit of God moves upon the face of the waters of human consciousness; the creative word is spoken, “Let there be light.” This movement of the spirit affects human consciousness so that human beings react in various ways, yet unconscious of what it is that really causes them to do what they do. Because the human mind in its state of darkness has developed a considerable state of self-satisfaction as to its own brilliance and capability, the sons and the daughters of God have been denied the opportunity of using this facility which they themselves created.

The sense of self has been a very poor imitation of the truth. Seemingly much has been achieved. We look around and see the kingdoms of this world and the glory of them, falling into a little decay these days but still considered to be a most marvelous civilization. Much has been done in the field of technology. What has been accomplished is claimed by human beings as their own, based presumably in the brilliance of their own minds, but all this has come because the spirit of God moves upon the face of the waters. There is a certain amount of light, which is translated in human consciousness in the old ways to which human beings are accustomed. Developments have ensued presumably to make human experience easier on earth. It hasn't succeeded too well in this, although certainly there are marvelous evidences of the seeming brightness of the human intellect. But the fact of the matter is that the spirit of God moves upon the face of the waters and the creative word is spoken, “Let there be light.” To the extent there is, it is translated according to the usual human ways, all designed to serve human beings.

But the sons and the daughters of God are incarnate, if not in expression, through human form. Human consciousness has been closed to that experience in favor of what is considered now to be the normal state of affairs known by people on earth. But the consciousness of man is designed to permit the consciousness of the son or the daughter of God to be present on earth. There are those who begin to become aware of this, but not through their own efforts—perhaps we may be included among these, together with many more. There is a certain awareness which springs from a different base. Instead of the old self which derives from earthly heredity being so dominant, something new begins to emerge in human consciousness: the son or the daughter of God in the process of coming forth. As this is so, it is found that the sons and the daughters of God recognize each other; at least they do so to the extent that this has emerged in the consciousness of those concerned. We discover friends. Discovering friends, we also discover that together we have purpose. The angels of God are indeed sent forth to gather the elect from the four winds, from one end of the heaven to the other. There may be little understanding of what this might mean, to start with, because human consciousness still remains, and tends to distort the outlook.

There begins to be a new perspective and a new understanding in consequence, because of the changed position. But what is that changed position? It is simply the coming forth of the incarnate son or daughter of God. A human being all on his own, without understanding, in darkness, has little meaning. People tend to realize that they don’t have much meaning. Meaning on earth is absolutely dependent upon the son or the daughter of God. If our human consciousness is willing to yield, to let go of all its fancy ideas and to accept the fact that of itself it is nothing, then there may be space available for the angel of God, the son or the daughter of God, to become conscious on earth, utilizing human consciousness for that purpose. This is the reason that man was created in the first place, as it was put, “in the image and likeness of God.” Of course.

The son or the daughter of God revealed on earth in the flesh bodies of human beings—if that is so, then the character who was there before has simply vanished. Now, it is this character that is most reluctant to bow off the stage. This reluctance may be seen in terms of what is called self-preservation; it is a very strong characteristic in human beings. This character doesn’t want to bow off the stage; it clings on desperately right until the last gasp, but then it is gone. Having seen something of this, what would be so difficult about returning the facility of flesh and consciousness to the creator of it, to the rightful owner, so that the son or the daughter of God might be incarnate and in expression on earth? Obviously when that is so, there is a different world. That is the coming of the Kingdom.

The Kingdom comes because of people, people who finally have allowed the sons and daughters of God to be incarnate and in expression on earth once again. I think to many people, when they think about the coming of the Kingdom or a new state, a new world, a new heaven and a new earth, it is merely hopeful fantasy. But their view usually tends to include some miasmic state descending somehow from somewhere upon human beings, as though the Kingdom comes regardless of human beings, that it is capable of coming in spite of human beings. But the Kingdom comes because of people. If there are no people to let it come, it doesn’t come. But the coming is based in one’s own individual experience as a son or a daughter of God. There is no need to get anything; all that is required is present.

The Word, the creative Word of the Lord is spoken in living, and the creative results appear. Human beings in their present state of darkness have created a world of darkness. Inherent in their makeup is this creative ability which springs forth from whatever quality of self may be present. That determines the quality of the word that is spoken in living, and according to that word so is the creation round about. The world is the way it is because human beings have made it that way. No malign influence other than that of human beings has been present. Let the sons and the daughters of God bring forth the Kingdom on earth. They can’t bring it forth unless there is the facility for so doing, so in the human sense we are willing to pass away in favor of the experience of the truth: the son or the daughter of God in action on earth—Jehovah.

These twelve men who chanted that word in response to what was offered through the lips of Geoff Tisch permitted some intensification of the currents of life by which spiritual substance is generated through which the sons and the daughters of God may emerge. These things do not happen by chance, just because someone has an idea about it or would like it to be so. All that occurs occurs with exactness, according to the creative principles of life. When human beings stop trying to get their own way, to fulfil themselves in some fashion, and are willing to open the doors of their hearts and their minds and their bodies to the incarnate son or daughter of God, then a creative change occurs. There is the initiation of the creative cycle: the spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters, a process of being born of water and of the spirit, the coming forth of the son or the daughter of God on earth. It might be said that this is happening, not because anyone is trying to make it happen or necessarily because there are those who want it to happen. There is little, if any, awareness of this except on the part of those who have approached the Gate of the Kingdom.

It has been my responsibility over many years to provide, to start with, some sort of leadership that would be acceptable to human consciousness so that a beginning might be made in a movement toward the Gate of the Kingdom—not that leadership of this nature should last forever but that there might be a movement in the right direction so that some sort of birth might take place and there would be a seeing of the kingdom of God, a seeing of that possibility. Many have become aware of this, imagining that that awareness came because I had provided the understanding. I may have had some understanding but if anyone else understood, it was because of something that occurred within themselves. There are those who have tried to keep me in that position of initial leadership, the leadership that would be acceptable to the human consciousness; but the only reason for that leadership, as I say, was to initiate a movement so that there might come an adequate seeing of the Kingdom. Then the awareness might emerge in human consciousness that it was not so much what I was offering as what was being born from within themselves that was allowing for a change in experience.

To come to the door, or the Gate of the Kingdom is to be in the Kingdom. It is the crossover point, the point where the undimensional is experienced in relationship to the dimensional. It is a position from which there may be observation and awareness of the dimensional world for which one is personally responsible. That observation and awareness is based in the position where one is standing. If, as most human beings experience it, one is standing away from the Gate of the Kingdom down amongst the distorted state that is present in human consciousness, that will be the place from which one is acting, from which one is living—if you could call it living. And the results of being there will be brought forth in the world round about: it will be a pretty dark and foggy world, and this is what human beings experience. My concern has been to assist toward the true position those who were willing to be assisted.

When the Master was on earth He said, “I am the door.” He was in the true position. He had a true perspective, a true understanding, a true comprehension of the world for which He was responsible. He saw it the way it really was. He understood it because He was in the right place to do that. Because He did it this certainly does not mean that He should be considered as the only one who could do it. The fact of the matter is that He was providing a true example—in fact—of where everybody belongs, so that each one relative to his own world may say, “I am the door.” Human beings certainly haven’t taken that attitude. They may be willing to say to someone else, “You are the door,” or they may be willing to say of Jesus, “He was the door,” but there is scarcely any willingness at all to reach a point where one might say of oneself, “I am the door.” That would be the Word of a son or a daughter of God—and each individual is the door for his own world, the world which he alone centers. This is true of anyone, as we have noted many times. We all have our own worlds, and no one can get into that point at the center of one’s own world. One is there, one has that responsibility, like it or not; one can’t hand it over to somebody else; one is at the center of one’s own world.

When in true position the Word will be, “I am the door.” The door may be seen as the means by which what is true of God, what is true of the undimensional, may be brought into the dimensional world, specifically into the world which is centered by oneself. One has that responsibility. And in any case, seeing that one centers a world, even though one’s consciousness may be characterized by human nature, one is always creating what is present in that world, because the fact of creativeness has not been taken away from man. He has it whether he likes it or not, and he is constantly producing what is present in his own world and then blaming somebody else for it. The evidence of that maturity which will allow the expression of the son or the daughter of God to appear is that one has taken responsibility for one’s own world—this the son or daughter of God does. The human nature state of consciousness doesn’t do that; it looks at the world round about and sees all the things that it thinks are wrong, and then looks around to find someone to blame for it, refusing to accept personal responsibility for it. The acceptance of personal responsibility is the dawning evidence of true spiritual maturity, in other words the emergence of a son or a daughter of God into expression through human consciousness. So responsibility is taken, and on this basis the creative Word of God may be spoken. It is spoken by the son or the daughter of God. Nothing else but that expression will emerge through human consciousness, and consequently through words and actions and thoughts, when the son or the daughter of God is in expression. That is a mature person, a person capable of handling what needs to be handled in his or her world.

Our worlds obviously overlap. Because of this we discover that when the son or the daughter of God is present in creative action this has an effect on the world around. This is increasingly true as there are those whose human consciousness begins to accommodate the expression of the son or the daughter of God in many places on the face of the earth. The world begins to be encompassed. It begins to be centered by God, who now has a facility for creative action. That creative action comes in ways that are not human ways. As it was truly written somewhere, “My thoughts are not your thoughts… saith the Lord.” My ways are not your ways; that is, the ways of human nature, the ways of darkened human consciousness. But these are the effective ways, the ways of God, the only truly practical ways, bringing the re-creation of the world, which is the coming of the Kingdom. And the Kingdom comes because of people who are providing the facility for the action of the sons and the daughters of God on earth through human form and consciousness.

So, coming into position, there is the dissolution of that old human usurper, that sleazy character who has been occupying most of the space in human consciousness. There always was some space which was not so occupied; otherwise continuing life would have been impossible. But now the son or the daughter of God begins to emerge, and he or she finds others, recognizes others, who are also sons and daughters of God emerging in human consciousness: friends. But not on the basis of, “Isn’t it nice to have friends?” We have been so richly blessed in this regard, so many friends; at least many when we consider how few friends, real friends, most people have. Friendship, as we are well aware, is based in the Kingdom. The sons and the daughters of God are friends already; we don't have to make friends; they are there. And we find they are there in experience on earth when the son or the daughter of God is incarnate and in expression on earth. Then there are his friends, or her friends; and the task for which the sons and the daughters of God are responsible may begin to be undertaken.

There are special things to be done, which partake of an understanding beyond what is usually considered. This can only be done when there are those who are in right position, so that they are there and they stay there. Then in that position there is a consciousness of what is present round about. The coming of the Kingdom doesn’t happen because one comes to the Gate of the Kingdom and looks through it and sees all the marvels of the Kingdom somewhere; where that would be I am not quite sure. It comes because one is in position and one looks toward what has heretofore been thought of as the world. One looks toward the marvels that are present in the dimensional universe. We have a closer-in responsibility in this regard, so we don’t need to delve into the far reaches of the universe. But the scope of the Kingdom is the scope of the universe; it is not a little thing. Obviously it is something tremendous, and we begin to become aware of what marvels are present, which before we could not see or understand because we were in the dark. But now the son or the daughter of God comes forth and there, behold, is the fulness of all that would ever be required—not all manifest in a moment—there is time to let all that fulness appear. But we do not look upon the world, particularly our little personal worlds, as though they were little minute places, fraught with suffering and misery and conflict, destructiveness. We don’t see it that way.

There is a marvelous world out there, filled with sunshine. Be in the true position and you have the true perspective. How about choosing to be at the point where we belong, so that we may have the marvelous perspective of what is called creation? Here is the expanse of which we need to be aware, the expanse which reveals the Kingdom. It reveals the Kingdom to one who is standing in the right position. If one is not in that right position it may reveal something else. Coming back into position, the position where the son or the daughter of God is, the human consciousness is filled with the son or the daughter of God. That is me! I am the Gate. This is my world. I am responsible for this world. And each one needs to be in position to say that and to act accordingly from that position. Immediately the world begins to be restored.

How blessed we have been to have shared the opportunity of coming again to the Gate of the Kingdom. Coming to that Gate, each individual may say, “I am the Gate.” You don’t come to that Gate and look at me and say, “You are the Gate.” I am the Gate for my world, but individually speaking each individual who is here present, and anywhere else on earth, is the Gate for his or her world. This is so, known to be so, when there is a coming again to that true position. “Be still, and know that I am God," specifically a son or a daughter of God, but not separate from God. The Word which finds expression in our living springs from God. “All things were made by the Word.” All things are made by the Word, and without the Word is not anything made that is made. Let us let it be so because we know it to be so. I am the Gate. We may each unequivocally state, “I am the Gate.”
