Transformation By Love

I speak to those particularly who have come to know that we have been together from the beginning. The beginning of what? This could be seen in various ways, but I refer to the beginning of that necessity by which the restoration of man might be brought to pass. Probably all the ins and outs of this process are not remembered by human minds; there is no need that all that clutter should be present. But we may, and do, come to know that we have been associated in various configurations down through the ages for the express purpose of which we are now aware: of bringing to fruition the restoration of man to his true state.
That true state requires that minds and hearts so yield that they accommodate angelic expression now. I am sure that there is a longing in most of you here present that this should be the full and free experience. There may still be those minds and hearts which wonder about this, maintaining a certain stance of separation and aloofness, thereby sustaining such human nature as may be present. We have come to realize again on earth, through yielded hearts and minds, that human nature is a liar and a thief. It seeks to acquire to itself all sorts of things in the fulfilment of its desired purposes.
As we have had experience, those desired purposes are almost always seen as being good. There has been an endeavor to acquire knowledge about the way things work in the field where human nature operates. The intent is usually for the betterment of human beings, frequently oneself in particular. And much knowledge has been acquired by human minds, so that they might imagine that they knew how things work and therefore could apply their knowledge, just as though they knew the ordinances of heaven and were setting them in the earth. But that is not so.
It was evident, in the fulfilment of our responsibilities along the way, that there were certain steps that needed to be taken by which the already existing purposes of the human mind and heart could be used to advantage, not for the fulfilment of the purposes of the human mind and heart but in the processes required for the restoration of man, or the coming forth of the angelic host, which is another way of putting it. As we are aware, various opportunities were available, during which, no doubt, many of us were actually on hand. One of those related to the Israelites of old.
Moses gave the Law. Why? So that human nature could then assume the responsibility of applying the Law, and everything would work out fine for human nature? That wasn’t the objective. It was pretty well what human nature tried to do. The result of that was the dissipation of that particular opportunity. It could be said that the Law was given initially as a base for discipline to human nature.
In these days, during the course of the development of this Body as we know it, there were various phases through which everyone needed to pass. Speaking of everyone, I am just speaking of human minds and hearts in particular; all this was quite unnecessary angelically speaking. But there has been the requirement for some sort of discipline to be established in human minds and hearts, so that they were capable of accepting the dominion of the Spirit of God. Along the path, one of the ways of providing the essential discipline could be described as laying down the law: obedience required. There are those who acknowledge that this is the requirement; others rebel and cause themselves a good deal of discomfort.
How wonderful to learn to obey! How few ever learn to obey as children. This essential ingredient of the maturing process was absent, and so there has been all kinds of trouble in seeking to reestablish the requirement of obedience. We have had a certain amount of childishness acting up in our own minds and hearts, and we can begin to look back and see how childish and how foolish it really was. What a waste of time, when we might have learned to obey absolutely everything that was brought to bear upon us.
The Law wasn’t given by Moses to the Israelites in order that they might take hold of it in human nature and apply it, and require everybody else to conform to it. It was given to the Israelites that they might learn to obey—discover what it means to be under control. Until one discovers what it means to be under control it would be impossible to extend dominion into one’s world. One would not know what dominion was. There has been a certain amount of effort in this regard, on the part of human minds and hearts of emissaries, to extend some sort of control without ever discovering the meaning of control because of their own obedience.
There has been all kinds of trouble over the years, at Sunrise Ranch and 100 Mile House and other units, where people were together under training, the principal element of which was to learn obedience. “Oh, not us; we don’t need to learn obedience. We’re angels, after all.” Well angels know what obedience is. What is offered along the way, that one might learn the factors that were going to be required later, have usually not been seen in that light. They have been assumed to be an imposition of some kind. “You shouldn’t be imposing this on me!” A very good emissary principle: no imposition.
Yet there is a period of time when that sort of imposition is absolutely essential. We have learned something of this over the years, and our hearts and minds are somewhat more amenable to the control of Spirit than was possible before. There are those who claimed to long to have the control of Spirit working through them but who have never been willing to experience the required discipline which would make it possible of fulfilment until the first works are done—then mind and heart learn how to yield, how to move easily in the current of the Spirit. The discipline, to start with, is necessarily externally applied because it hasn’t been internally experienced yet. When, by reason of external application—and one can apply it to oneself—one learns the meaning of discipline, the meaning by which one may accept the control of Spirit, then there is no longer need for the application of external control, because the control is then working through oneself.
We have all discovered in some measure—certainly not completely yet—what the meaning of discipline really is from the angelic standpoint. The older people say, “Oh, well I'm beyond that now.” You’re not beyond accepting discipline; no one is. So, seeing from the angelic standpoint all the wriggling that has gone on mentally and emotionally—I have watched it for years—we reach a point where it is established.
There are still those who let their hearts and minds dictate to their experience. Virtually everyone has had a troubled past. Most people love their troublous pasts; they hang onto them grimly. Did some trouble occur in your past sometime, perhaps when you were a kid or later? If it’s still a trouble, why? Because one has held onto it and been unwilling in heart and mind to yield and receive the golden substance of love. If one has had some troublous experience of some nature in the past, why is it still dragged along? The individual may say, “Well I need someone to help me relinquish it.” That isn’t the objective, if such an attitude is taken. The objective always is to have an excuse in the background, a justification for the continued existence of human nature controlling one’s own expression of life. There isn’t anyone here, myself included, who hasn’t had troublous experiences in the past. Some people make such a big deal out of it! This is the state of human nature which is to be left behind, not dragged along: “Oh, I can’t leave it behind. I have such a scar in my heart because of this.” And it’s a wonderful thing to maintain, so that one feels justified in not being what one knows very well one should be. There is no excuse in this regard.
It doesn’t require a corps of psychiatrists to dispose of that rubbish. It never is disposed of on that basis. It is disposed of because the heart and the mind yield and receive the golden substance of love. That’s the only way there can be transformation. To bring it all out and look at it so that you can let it go—well, you can do that if you want. Anybody can do it for themselves. Have a look at it: it stinks; let it go! Some seem to get enamored with the stench; they carry it around all the time. A little honesty is needful.
The common practice of human nature, in its dealings with human nature, is to make sure that all the troublous human nature factors are preserved. While people claim they want to get rid of them they, as a rule, wouldn’t let go of them for anything. Why carry all that baggage around? It’s totally unnecessary. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/all-healing-is-healing-of-heart.html] There has been the provision, day in and day out, week in and week out, month in and month out, year in and year out—and we could keep going a little more than that—of what was necessary for the yielding of mind and heart. But human nature is dragged along, particularly the troublous parts of it.
The transformation occurs simply because the truth of the angel comes forth through yielded minds and hearts. That’s the only way it happens. Nobody can argue you out of your troubles. So much effort goes into sustaining those troubles by paying attention to them, thinking of them as being so important: “I was so badly treated back along the way. I’ve kept this all locked up in my heart, and finally I reach a point where I trust someone with this precious jewel.” Isn’t that very revealing of what actually has been going on? It’s so easy to come clear! People look at each other and say, “You didn’t have what I had! You can talk, but if you really heard about my lurid past…” I really don’t want to hear about it. There is no sense to it. It’s a closed book; it’s closed because it’s balanced. So we are not looking for knowledge of some kind, which someone else is supposed to have, which will enable us either to get rid of our troubles or to take hold of what we’re doing and make it work because we know so much now.
There are some who imagine they know what the laws of life are in various fields of agriculture, for instance, and some of these knowledgeable people are utilizing what they think they know about organic methods, for instance. They have knowledge; they’re going to apply it; they’re going to have marvelous response from the earth because of this—and the earth responds. But it is on the way to being betrayed again. This is why there is a certain hesitancy. It’s the fact. Who knows what the earth would bring forth if there was complete trust and yielding by the earth because the angelic host were present and consequently there was a place of trust? Sometimes various things are done. Back along the way chemical fertilizers were used. Tremendous crops came; the earth responded to chemical fertilizers—apparently. But the earth was raped. Now the earth is supposed to respond to the knowledge which has been gained about organic farming, for instance. That’s wonderful. But if that is all there is to it, it will be betrayed again, because all these ways, in this field and every other field, are designed to benefit human beings, the idea being that the mind can get enough knowledge to establish a proper dominion on the earth and then it’s going to produce. Human nature is a liar and a thief.
But the angels who are present know what is needful, and the first thing that is needful is a yielded mind and heart. Without that, if there is arrogance or rebellion or self-satisfaction, or any of these things in mind and heart, there is no place for the angel. There is no place for the Spirit of the Living God, by which beautiful dominion can be reestablished on earth, the dominion which allows the earth to yield and bring forth in beauty and balance all that the earth is designed to bring forth. So, as angels aware of these things, we need no longer be fooled by human nature, working through unyielded minds and hearts, seeking to maintain those things which rightly pass away. We share this awareness as angels, that it may be with us consistently, now and henceforth. Let the tone of life be sustained in all our ways.
