A Focus Point Turned Always To The Father

A  Focus  Point  Turned  Always  To  The  Father

And  Never  To  The  World

Uranda   May 8, 1949

I am confronted with construction problems. I have talked to you before concerning the Machinery of Reality, and we have considered together that process of growth into the Stature of the Living Christ which would allow our Machinery in the earth to begin to function in the larger sense. The Body has recently been doing remarkably well. The spirit of diligence, application and faithfulness of service has been increasingly manifest, but the Body is still immature. The other evening I spoke about that process of growing through which the Master went, by which He had reached a maturity through which the Spirit of the Living Christ could find adequate expression. Growing takes time, and yet when there is plenty of moisture, plenty of the sunshine of Love, when conditions are right, growth can be rapid. The Master said that God seeks those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. The need for balance in this matter is very great. How much time is needed for the Body to mature?

We look at a human being, and we say that physically he will be mature somewhere from eighteen to twenty-one years, and that mentally he should begin to mature somewhere around thirty, and that as a human being he should begin to be reasonably mature in all aspects of life somewhere around forty. If it is going to happen at all—for there are many individuals who never mature—that fullness of maturity should appear by the age of forty. We have no precedent with respect to a Body. If we say that a Body can mature no more rapidly than individuals, then we must say that this Body, being about three years old, cannot be expected to do any better than it is doing; but I trust we do not have thirty-seven years to go before we have a reasonably mature Body! The Master cut the time from forty to thirty years for the maturing of a human being under conditions then. If, as a human being, He could mature by the age of thirty under those conditions, it seems to me that we should be able to mature as human beings at a much earlier age under the conditions now manifest. If human beings can mature by the time they are twenty-five or thirty, it seems to me that the Body, made up of many Members, of reasonably mature human beings, should be able to come to that maturity in a comparatively short time.

The Body the Master undertook to train did not reach maturity in three years, but it would rather appear that He expected His Body then, under those conditions, to mature in about three and one-half years. It did not do it—but it seems to me that the Master was reasonable in expecting that maturity to appear in such a time. If He expected that Body to mature in three and one-half years, what about in these conditions? We have the history of so-called Christianity behind us, the example of His own Life, the Reality of His Teaching, the history with respect to what happened afterward, and the LORD's provision in all of these points, and the presentation of Truth in the Current of His Love which I have been privileged to bring to you in His Name. It seems to me that this Body has had a much better opportunity than was given to the Body the Master worked with. It is true that they had His Presence—and such a Blessing cannot be measured or evaluated—nevertheless, we have the history of His Presence, and the opportunity to share in it Spiritually. We can look back, whereas the disciples had to look ahead without anything in the past to go on. Yes, I think we have a decided advantage over His disciples at that time.

This Body was born, as such, in the summer of 1946. The summer of 1949 is at hand. It is almost three years already. It is not my nature to complain to the LORD about the material He has given me to work with, either with respect to quality or quantity. With what He has given it has been, and is, my intention to get the job done. I have repeatedly emphasized our Master's words with respect to the test of discipleship: “If ye have love one to another ye shall be truly known as my disciples.” It has seemed to me that in the true working of the Law, in a Body of well polarized individuals, so that the Second Commandment might be truly fulfilled, the Body would find within itself a point of fusion.

Here we have a Body of many parts, and in the various parts or departments there are various focalizations which are functioning to varying degrees of excellence; but, as a matter of fact, as yet it is too much this part and that part and the other part. Under my influence those parts come together, are put together on the Altar, as it were, something after the order of a picture puzzle; but when one moves that jigsaw puzzle the parts come apart and it is again this part here and that part there—and there is not that degree of fusion that is necessary to give the strength required to hold in the powerful Current of the Spirit. We cannot arbitrarily put someone at some certain point and say, “You be the center.” We are not playing child's games, so that we may say, “You be IT,” or that we may have the position of IT held, first by one and then another, as if we played a game of tag. In whatever place or department, at whatever point of focus, IT must appear because of the reality of IT’s nature, and attunement in God. There is a point of focus that we may call IT, with respect to the various parts and departments, and in those parts or departments IT may be functioning very well. But if I step back, as it were, and look at the Body, searching in the Body for that focus of Being that provides IT for the Whole, I cannot find it.

I have provided it, and do—and from one standpoint it is properly my responsibility—but how is this Body to find a focus in itself? As a projected point come forth in the Name of the LORD, the Branches or the Members had to revolve around me during the process of formation, but I have been seeking for a long time to establish a condition in the Body which would permit me to stand back, as it were, not to cut my influence or Vibration or Love or Direction away from the Body, but to allow the manifest expression of the reality of a Body in relationship to which I might function as with an individual—a single thing brought to a point—a Body.

Now, it would be futile for those here to begin to strive for place, and to try to be in the position of centering the Body, that the Body might revolve around each Aspiring One. Such foolishness would lead to division. What I am seeking to do tonight is to help you to gain an individual vision of what the full Stature in Christ means, a greater vision of maturity, so that the Body, being a Body, may function effectively in relationship to the Father, Whose Representative I AM.

Now, inasmuch as no specific point has appeared from within the Body itself in this matter, it is needful that I undertake to help you individually and collectively, to recognize a point of focus, not merely as if it were focused in some one individual, but a point of focus vibrationally, in which all share but in which no one takes absolute dominance, a point that is constantly open to the influence of the Spirit, a point of focus that is turned always to the Father and that is never turned, in any moment, to the world—that open point of focus, vibrationally speaking, that is something invisible and yet real, in which each one may have a feeling share, a point where all meet, a point from which none turn away.

This Invisible Point of Blending, made up of all your Spiritual qualities, partakes of the maturity in each one, and, properly, any remaining immaturities in anyone should not touch it. This point is to be a focus, not of the immaturities and the unrealities, but a focus of the maturities and the realities in you—and when it is seen as Hallowed Ground, each one will take care not to defile it, not to inject into it that which does not belong there.

A centering of Spirit in the Body, which provides the constant contact point for the Spirit of our Father—such a Point is the Point of Union between Heaven and Earth. Such a Point is a focus of the best in all. Each one realizes that he or she alone could not, under any circumstance, provide that focus of the Whole in the absolute sense; therefore, each gives to that focus that which he or she is, and if this point of blending, vibrationally, is kept holy and pure, undefiled, if it is the Hallowed Meeting Place, then at that Point the various Aspects of the Spirit of reality in you find an invisible Point of Focus which has constant contact with the Father.

So it is that the positive outpouring of the Father's Love through that Point can find expression in and through each Member of the Body to the degree that each Member of the Body provides a part of that which is so focused. It is time for this Body to begin to mature, so that the adequate expression of the Spirit of the Living Christ may appear on earth.

O LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, I thank Thee for these Blessed Ones whom Thou hast given unto me, that they may, in Thy Name, be brought before Thy Throne to receive the Anointing of Thy Love, IN the Christ, that, being One Body IN Christ, they may let the fullness of Thy Spirit find expression on earth, that Thou mayest accomplish Thy Works on earth and cause Thy Kingdom to appear; for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever. Aum-en.

Increasingly, circumstances will require the actuality of Oneness in the Body, so that Oneness between the Father and the Body may be a reality on earth which has meaning in daily life. It is the responsibility of this Body to remain attuned, functioning correctly, so that there may be a true Current of Radiation moving out into the world, to and through all who shall be responding, whosoever, wheresoever they may be. We carry a great responsibility. Each carries a great responsibility, and the Body has opportunity to prove that it is ready to let the Father do the Works, that its reality as a Body may be established on earth, to the Glory of God and to the Blessing of all who will receive.

Accomplishment cannot be of the scope and the power and the reality of the fullness of the Living Christ, except the Body, in maturity, allows the Current of the Living Christ to be made manifest on earth and released through its Members not present in person. I anticipate that it shall prove that the Body is a reality in the Name of the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, so that it may be established that this is not merely a box containing many unrelated and unconnected parts, but that this is a Temple in which the Body of our LORD is made manifest. It is one or the other. It is for us to prove that it is Body.

Archangelic Action—This Is It!

Archangelic  Action — This  Is  It!

Martin Cecil   September 24, 1978

External changes tend to emphasize themselves to us, but gradually there is a greater sense of the un-changingness in heaven. I do not mean that nothing happens in heaven—it is a very active place—but the angels of God abide in heaven; they do not duck out. Regardless of changes that may occur in the earth, there is a stability, a steadfastness, an abiding, in heaven. As angels we are not separate, regardless of what the conditions may be in the external sense. It might be said that we are never alone, from the standpoint of angelic experience.

We do delight in one another’s external company but, regardless of that, we experience no separation even though there may be miles between in the external sense. Miles—these mysterious entities that are supposed to separate human beings and all the different parts of the universe. What we are aware of in the external sense of the universe is in fact a very small fraction of it. Space is usually thought of as being empty, but far from it. Here is one cohesive entity.

It is considered that there are vast distances, relatively speaking, between atoms in physical substance, and yet from our standpoint we don’t notice it much. There is a wholeness. There is a cohesiveness. There is substance present at all levels of which human beings are aware and far beyond, and so we are no longer fooled by external separation, as it seems to be. This is so to the extent that we do abide in heaven as angels. We can’t abide in heaven on any other basis actually—fortunately indeed, because it wouldn’t stay heaven long if human nature could get in there. So we are thankful for the flaming sword which prevents access to the heavenly experience except on the basis of angelic expression.

We are not excluded from that experience if we are willing to accept the responsibility of angelic expression in our daily living. It may be that there is something to discover in this regard but we are not prevented in any way from discovering it. Theory is of little consequence, although it looms very large in the minds of human beings. It doesn’t matter what theories human beings hold; the truth is regardless, and the theories of human beings very seldom indicate what the truth is. They may occasionally, rather rarely, give a hint.

So we are indeed concerned with actual experience, with angelic expression, whatever that may be. We have become aware of the Tone of it to some extent. We begin to understand what it means to keep our integrity in the expression of that Tone so that we do not become subject to humanly engendered reactions to what is going on around us. It is only as there are those who have sufficient integrity to be true to their awareness of the Tone in their own living that there begins to be something brought to bear upon this human condition which permits changes to occur in human experience. Worldly conditions are simply an effect of a cause of some kind. Let the cause be true and the effect will reflect the fact.

We love to do what we do as angels. In fact as angels we couldn’t do anything else, and we never do what we do on the basis of the fact that we are going to receive appreciation or a reward of some kind. On this basis there can be no control exercised upon us out of the world. We do what we do because it is the right thing to do and we begin to determine what the right thing to do is to the extent that our expression is in fact angelic. When it is then it becomes apparent what the right thing is.

There needs to be an expansion of vision which allows us to encompass a larger field than the immediate one. The immediate one is the important field because that is where we are. It is the core or the centering point for our world, but our world is a great deal larger than the immediate thing we are doing. That world extends in all directions and what we do has an effect therefore in all directions. So in order to determine what the right thing to do is there must be a sufficient awareness of the larger scene. This larger scene will always include others. The world all around is simply an extension of whatever it is that is present at the core of it, and you are present at the core of your world. This is true of each one of us, and therefore what we do at the core is what is extended into the world.

On this basis what may appear to be a little thing is not really a little thing at all. The whole of our world hangs on it. The way we behave, the way we handle what is right next to us, will determine what creative or destructive influence is extended into our world. This is true of all human beings everywhere. Most people don’t know it, so they go ahead and handle their affairs in a destructive way and then wonder that the world around them is a destructive world; and out of that world around them comes back onto them the results of their own behavior at the core of it.

In alignment with the true creative power, the angelic power, there is the power to transform the world. How else are you going to do it? This is a very simple principle, too simple for most people. It is a matter of angelic behavior, to summarize it in a nutshell, and who is the one who is going to provide that angelic behavior? If we have integrity as individuals we say, “Me,” and we do not look at our neighbor, we do not look at somebody over there and say, “Let it be by your hand.” We assume responsibility at the core.

Long ago there was one person who did what was necessary because it was forced upon Him to do it that way as one person. Jesus did not come into the world to do what was required merely as one person. He came into the world to include many, but clearly there was an absolute rejection of that. So proving things out narrowed down to the point where it simply had to be an individual thing—one person—not because He wanted it that way but because that way was forced upon Him. He had the choice I suppose of washing His hands of the whole affair or of accepting the responsibility, but being the One who He was He accepted the responsibility. He had absolute integrity. Now that was fine. It proved something out in the individual sense. It opened a door. But what now needs proving out is a collective matter. It relates to the whole of mankind.

For this to happen requires that there be brought to bear within the body of mankind, relative to the consciousness of that body, the creative power of the angelic or Archangelic expression. If we are talking about something of a collective nature we should upgrade the angel a little to the Archangel. The Archangel is properly the one incarnate in the collective Body by which the angelic behavior may be brought to bear in relationship to the body of mankind.

Here is the creative way, which doesn’t make much sense to the human mind, but what makes sense to the human mind is nonsense insofar as the mind of God is concerned. It is a matter of restoring mankind to the true state of man, made in the image and likeness of God so that there may be a right cause present, and when there is a right cause present the world of effects will reflect it. But in order for that right cause to be present, which includes all of mankind, however many people that may prove to be, there is the necessity for the creative expression of the Archangel to be brought to bear. This can’t be done unless the Archangel has a Body. It must be done at the level where human beings are. The One called Jesus brought something in that regard so that it was present at the human level, but it was rejected then. It has been rejected ever since.

Heaven is here. Heaven and earth were created as one. That discovery is what has been rejected, just as the One who came to reveal it was rejected out of hand. He kept His integrity, praise the LORD, so we have a chance now, but it is something which must be proven out not merely on an individual basis but on a collective basis. If there is to be Archangelic action there must be an Archangelic Body to make it possible. So if we keep our integrity we accept the responsibility of providing that Body. It isn’t something to be organized like the churches of the world. Here is a living organism that puts in an appearance on the basis of the Archangelic spirit. As there are those who accept the responsibility of differentiating that spirit in their own experience moment by moment, then there begins to be a Body, not put together by the human mind, but put together by the creative spirit of God.

That Body is rightly governed by the Archangel. That which composes the Body has no proper will of its own. As human beings we have no rights in that regard, no right whatsoever to do as we please. When human nature passes away as the controlling expression of the person then there begins to be something which permits the experience of the creative expression of the spirit of the Archangel, differentiated through all the incarnate angels who form His Body. The only means by which something new can put in an appearance is by reason of the Archangelic state. We are invited to share something in this regard now if we are willing. There is something coming down from God out of heaven in every moment everywhere, with respect to everyone, but virtually no one knows it. What is coming forth in this sense has no meaning to human beings until it begins to be clothed in some sort of form. We all have a part to play in the process. There is something coming down from God out of heaven in this moment to be experienced on earth by those who are present to experience it.

You and I are included in this configuration by which the experience may be known. You have a part to play. What is present in you and is being lifted to God in this moment is essential if anything is to occur. It’s not as though I could stand up here and bring forth intelligible words if there was no one present. What would be the point? It is because you are present, because you have something to offer, that I can provide a point of connection between what you are offering and what is coming down from God out of heaven. Providing that point of connection then something is brought forth which we all can share.

The part for which you are responsible is an angelic part because as an angel you offer your response, your openness, your yielded heart, your willingness to move, to the LORD. The contact point for that offering centers at the moment in me. There must be a point to which it can come, into which it may center. Then, the other side of me, so to speak, there is whatever it is that is coming down from God out of heaven. If your yielding is such that you offer what is necessary, then what is coming down from God out of heaven can be given some sort of form, because you are providing the substance for the form. There is then creative action in this particular configuration of angels; and because you are all in the flesh, you are all incarnate, this action is not separate from what is occurring in the whole of mankind. We are a part of mankind, so what occurs with us provides a centering point for what is to occur in the whole body of mankind. This is so if we function as we were designed to function. There is a reason for human beings on earth and we are beginning to discover what that reason is.

We provide a Body through which the Archangel may incarnate; and it is the action of the Archangel through the whole collective Body that gets the job done. It requires the collective Body and we have no right to behave in a manner which violates that Body. Our behavior must be absolutely in alignment with the spirit that finds expression through that Body. We have spoken of that as the spirit of the Archangel.

The Archangel is the One who comes in the Name of the LORD. In the body of mankind there are those who may say, “Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord”—in other words there may be a yielding and a welcome. If there is, because the individual is saying, “Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord,” he experiences the blessing. There is something to occur in the world, something that is occurring on an irresistible basis. Human beings back along the way over thousands of years have been offered repeated opportunities to let it happen in an easy way, in what one might call a voluntary way. There comes a point when it must happen—there is time no more.

But let us always remember that this does not mean that we are just going to improve what is here on earth now; not at all—re-creation, restoration, salvation. The former things pass away. We find our traditional human nature selves being dissolved. Let this traditional self pass away now so that the angel coming forth may reveal the creative expression that is necessary in conjunction with all the other angels who are coming forth to reveal this. Then there begins to be an irresistible force on earth against which human nature cannot stand. It will be pushed out of the way one way or another; and no doubt that will prove to be a very painful thing to human nature. We see disintegration occurring in so many ways. Praise the LORD for it.

We can be so occupied with expressing the true Tone of life that the disintegration in a personal sense goes almost unnoticed. We don’t care. We don’t put any weight anymore in the earthly treasure, in the human nature state and all the things the human nature state clings to in order to make itself feel secure. The human nature state is not secure! If we manipulate in such a way as to make ourselves feel secure all we have done is to deceive ourselves. The human nature state is not at all secure—it is in the process of passing away right now. It is all falling apart. It must. In that falling apart the material is provided by which the new form may be brought forth. If there is no material for the new form nothing can be brought forth. If it is all held in these structured states of human nature then there is no substance available to reveal the true state. So it must fall apart, even though it is very painful and unpleasant from the human nature standpoint.

But here is something taking form on the basis of what is provided by the Spirit of the Archangel, through the configuration of angels who represent the Archangel on earth; and the Archangel represents the LORD. The coming of the LORD can only be known on the basis of the whole body of mankind, whatever size that may prove to be. I suspect that it might be a considerably smaller size than it is now in the physical sense.

So we share this responsibility, and we recognize that the LORD was incarnate on earth in the form that was called Jesus. Whatever tradition may say, that is the truth of the matter. He came to offer the opportunity way back then but it was rejected, so some other means of letting it happen had to be worked out and this is it. It is happening now and we have the opportunity of sharing in that happening in a creative sense, that we may participate in the integrative process, which doesn’t stand alone as though one could have nothing but integration. There must be something to integrate. There must be some material available to put together, and that material comes because of the disintegrative aspect of the cycle. So we delight to let it work the way it does and we praise the LORD for the opportunity of sharing the responsibility of all the necessary configurations of angels in a specific sense by which what needs to be done may be done.

There is a great deal going on that you don’t know about. I’m always thankful for that. If I just looked at what I saw going on in the external sense I would have been discouraged long ago! When it doesn’t matter, because you are delighted to express what you are regardless of anyone else, you will never be discouraged.

He That Would Be Greatest Among You

He  That  Would  Be  Greatest  Among  You

Let  Him  Be  The  Servant  Of  All

Uranda  November 19, 1950

The gently falling snow this morning has turned the earth white, obliterated the rough places from vision and given the earth a new aspect, a new appearance. With that falling snow there is moisture that penetrates the earth. The illustration, “White as snow,” has been used to illustrate the cleansing Power of the Spirit of the Living Christ. The Life Force of God, that cleansing purification by which we may be white as snow, so that out of the abundance of our hearts the things of God may appear on earth, is and should be the primary concern of each one.

We have considered something of those patterns of outworking by which we have been able to move forward to this point, and there has been some clearing of vision and deepening of realization, some purifying of hearts, so that you may more readily see the things of God. The perversity of human nature which causes human beings to become critical and non-responsive toward those who are leading the Way is something that we will have to contend with as we let the ministry of this Service expand out into the earth, but such things have no place here. Those upon whom the primary stress of holding the line, of maintaining a point of control, has rested have enough to do when conditions are of the best.

I have not been concerned about trying to make people perfect now according to some concept of what ultimate, absolute perfection might be. I have not held any of you up as being perfect, in the absolute sense. When we pause to consider this matter each one might well ask himself or herself the questions: To what degree have I given support to those who are holding the line? To what degree, through reaction and non-response, have I added unnecessarily to the burden?

Those who are leading the Way are expected to hold the line regardless of what takes place, but it seems to me that no personal satisfaction can come from an attitude which, carried to its ultimate extreme, might be expressed something like this: “I am proud of those leaders; see how they have come through. I have done everything I could to make it hard, and see, they have won the victory in spite of all I could do to hinder.” That is not the way to gain personal satisfaction.

I have talked a good deal about self-centeredness and pointed out that all forms of evil and destruction spring from self-centeredness. In the Spirit of the Living Christ we find that which moves toward a spirit of unification, the establishment of harmony and coordination, something that is selfless. “God is the giver of every good and perfect gift.” It is the nature of God to give. Now, if it is the nature of God to give, and if the true expression of service is selfless, the spirit of self-aggrandizement is eliminated, cleansed away, and each one shares a joy in the fulfilment that comes to others. That givingness which allows a true spirit of satisfaction in seeing the progress of others, and in knowing that the spirit and attitude of one's own expression has lent something to that manifestation of progress, establishes that frame of mind, that nature of the heart, which allows the manifestation of greatness of service within oneself.

The Master said, “He that would be greatest among you, let him be the servant of all.” The more we help others, the more our attitude consistently encourages and builds, the more we share in that fundamental nature of God on earth. If each one is trying to get some certain thing, trying to achieve some certain thing, to obtain recognition, to establish a state of consciousness in others wherein one may be somewhat magnified, there is a fundamental condition within the individual which prevents any true expression of the Spirit of the Living Christ.

We cannot look upon any certain individual anywhere at any time and say, “There is the individual who will fill such and such a place,” because to arbitrarily put someone somewhere in the sense of expecting that individual to arbitrarily fill that position would be attempting to build according to the concepts of man, the development of human organizations. We are building according to the patterns of the Cosmic Plan and the way is the Way of God. Place with respect to the individual is established when that which will fill the place finds consistent manifestation through the individual, and not before. That which finds consistent manifestation through the individual determines what placement, if any, there shall be, but we cannot at any time just appoint someone to a place. I did not arbitrarily, from some outer standpoint, appoint Martin Cecil to any place. He is in his place because he allowed a consistent expression of Reality to appear in manifestation on earth which allowed focus in that place where he is.

The only thing that counts, that has any weight, meaning or value in any way, shape or form on earth is what manifests through you now. Nothing else counts. That is all that we can count on; that is all that has any meaning in relationship to the thing that is developing here. What form of manifestation your God Being may have had at some past time means nothing—absolutely nothing. What the identity of your God Being is, is absolutely beside the point, something you do not need to know and it would not matter the snap of your finger if you did know. The only thing that has any value at all is what is here on earth in form—consistent expression that can be depended upon—that is all. Everything else is nothing as far as we are concerned out here. The inner God Being—oh yes, that is all right in the Inner Realms, but the Inner Realms have no meaning out here except as we let them, and the unreality that manifests through the individual is nothing. So, what is there? Only that which consistently manifests from the One Source, that comes into outer form and can be used here on earth—only that.

There have been so many foolish, ridiculous ideas come into manifestation within the range of our own Service about the value or importance of an individual because he or she supposed that his or her God Being was such and such. I do not give a snap of my finger what the identity of your God Being is, or what manifestations that God Being had in the past. It has no weight, meaning or value whatsoever in relationship to that which we are doing. The only thing that has any value is what you let come into manifestation in consistent outer form. That which so comes forth is that which can be used in the development of the Cosmic Plan. That which so comes forth is that which determines what place, if any, you shall have in the Pattern as it now manifests, and the place that you may have does not necessarily guarantee or say that it is the place you will always have, because others will come into the Pattern, and if you are growing there will be an increase, and there will be perhaps some other place that is best for you then and at that time.

Any time the human mind tries to get these things fixed on some arbitrary basis, to know exactly what and where, growth stops; and the outer mind self-activity may be carried on to the point where there is an elimination from the Body—an elimination, not of something worthwhile, but of refuse. Of refuse—why? Because there is no assimilation. That which is actually digested and assimilated becomes a part of the body but that which does not so blend in and with the body sooner or later becomes refuse: instead of giving primary thought to being a servant to all, there is a good deal of concern about being served. That is the way to become the least of all, not the greatest of all.

“He who would be great among you, let him be the servant of all.” The attitude involved in such service conditions one to the Patterns of God and opens one, so that the Currents of God can come forth—and from whence does any greatness spring? It springs from God and not from the human self. The human mind, the human form, the human talents and abilities, in and of themselves are nothing. They have a potential in relationship to the things of God, and that is all. That which we allow to come forth from God is that which gives us value.

How does an individual become a specific focalization in some sphere of our Body? How does one become a leader? By consistently letting something of God come forth, so that the individual can be depended upon to always be spiritually available, at least with respect to some sphere, be it ever so small. There is something that can be depended upon, something that is always there.

If the individual, with his human mind, tries to determine that: “I have such and such talents and abilities; I ought to be recognized because of those talents; I ought to be allowed certain freedoms. I have lived a certain number of years and done a certain number of things”—that does not have any meaning, at least not until it is coupled with something else. The talents an individual has are important, but when the outer mind tries to determine what they are and how they should be used and developed, nothing worthwhile results. In a true process of evolving from the state of the fallen world to the state of the restoration, nothing, at any point along the way, can become fixed in relationship to the outer manifestation of form until it has reached a point where it conforms absolutely with the Inner Pattern.

There is a state of change. The one thing that is fixed is our Love Response to God, so that in the fulfilling of the Law the various phases of Truth may be revealed by the cycles of our daily lives. Every day is different. Every pattern of manifestation is different. Things change, and we praise God that they do—either change and movement toward elimination for that which does not respond, or change and movement toward a higher assimilation for that which does respond.

The process of letting go is something that must be in operation all the time. There are human tendencies to try to pre-determine the nature and extent of one's own value and to try to impose that upon others. It will not work that way. Why have I had the degree of value that I have had to you? Because, regardless of anything, there was something within the scope of my expression which could serve you, could help you move along the Way, and accomplish that for which you are here. It was because there was, and is, an expression of service that is not confined to some narrow sphere but that is able to extend into every situation, into every aspect of our function. That is not a claim on my part. It is something that has been demonstrated, and that you know. That example should inspire you to go and do likewise? How would you go and do likewise? By trying to imitate me? No. There is not room at my point for both of us. One or the other would get pushed out. I do not want to try to fill your point, and I do not think you want to try to fill mine. I have suggested a few times that if any of you wanted to try it I might take a vacation, providing, of course, that you could prove you could do the job.

What is “doing likewise?” What is it for you? It begins with doing all the things that are at hand. We have covered them over and over, but let us see if we can connect them up a little in the sense of a deeper realization. The human being tends to have certain convictions as to what is possible and what is not possible. He tends to govern his concept about and attitude toward the future on the basis of the past. You meet an individual today and his attitude will probably be governed almost entirely by what he has experienced with respect to you in the past. This business of depending on the past to provide the view of the future can be very misleading.

The past reveals some important lessons. That which is out of the past in the sense of reality provides to a high degree that with which we have to work today. But there is, generally speaking, either a pessimism with respect to the future or an unwarranted optimism. If, moving according to the Central Pattern, I undertake to modify the unwarranted optimism, the individual thinks that I am unappreciative of his enthusiasm and reflecting on his vision, and he is inclined to either rebel or become lethargic. On the other hand, if the individual is inclined to the pessimistic view there is, actually, in such a case, a great deal of denial—denying that which is and shall be; there is a holding back; there is not an openness to the free flow of the Spirit of the Living Christ; there is not an effective accomplishment.

Living in this present moment, letting the Current of the Spirit manifest now, not holding back, not running ahead of the Lord, we begin to find certain qualities of the Spirit expressing through ourselves in relationship to all circumstances, and if we keep oriented, open, fulfilling the Law, that Current increases day by day because we are opened more fully, cleansed more fully, allowing the things of God to have greater meaning. Sooner or later there is a consistent manifestation of something that is of God appearing through the individual. The moment that becomes absolute, consistent and dependable it becomes a point in the Creative Field. It cannot be considered as a point in the Creative Field until it has reached that state of consistency in the manifestation of the things of God; but once it is there, whatever it is that is of God manifesting through the individual, so that it stands—no matter who comes or goes, what is said or done by anyone, it is there—then that becomes focalization in the Creative Field with respect to the One Christ Body. The full use of that focus may not immediately appear in the eyes of the individual involved. There may be a lot of waiting, doing meanwhile, but waiting, for the greater fulfilment, while points manifest here, there and everywhere, while the cycles work out, because all of these fulfilments depend upon the degree of response to reality made manifest in those involved. According to thy faith, or response, so be it unto thee. That has been emphasized from the beginning.

Once the current begins to move through the individual he is inclined to become self-active, trying to use it according to his own vision, trying to make something out of it, and trying to set it into a state where it would be recognized. We do not have to try to get God to recognize the things of reality. We do not have to act as if God simply has no perception with respect to that which is of Himself. We do not have to try to get human beings to recognize it, in the sense of self-aggrandizement at least. We have to let our Light shine so that it can be recognized, but when we work with God in the Creative Cycles of Being we let these things work out in their appointed seasons. We do not have to try to get recognition. God gives the recognition.

The Master said, with respect to prayer, something that deals with this subject very directly: “And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.” A good deal of praying among emissaries has been of that type, trying to make something manifest out here, so that it could be seen of men instead of letting something be established in the Creative Field—a positive point of focus that never is controlled by the outer circumstance. What does He say? “And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you. They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

It is this statement of our Master's that provides the central, fundamental key in connection with this whole subject as we have been considering it. When we let that which is of God find expression through us we are not concerned by the fact that it is in secret, that it is not seen and known of men immediately. “Thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Why is it stated thus? So that we may realize that God recognizes those things in human beings that are of Himself. We do not have to convince Him if it is there. If it is there it will be revealed in season. It will be known of God and in season it will be known of men. There is absolutely nothing worthwhile in this world that does not provide a means, a form, through which some aspect of the Living Christ can find manifestation, and its value is only that it does allow the Spirit of the Living Christ to have meaning on earth.

I think you begin to realize more fully the vast array of aspects which are contained within the Spirit of the Living Christ. These Spirits that are of God are all contained in the One Spirit, and if we are to accept the Pattern as given in Revelation as giving any indication in this matter, it will take at least 144,000 people to give adequate focus—not complete meaning, but adequate focus—to the various aspects of the Spirit of the Living Christ. Is there any opportunity for you? If we had 144,000 people functioning correctly in relationship to the Plan and Pattern of God we could feel that the focus of that which is the Spirit of the Living Christ is established on earth, but not the fulness of its meaning and expression, because that would take all the people living on earth.

We have the opportunity of providing a Focus Point in the Creative Field by which God can do the works on earth. The consistency of manifestation of that point of focus determines its value. If it is there for one minute and not the next, it has only potential value. No one individual has to be the whole thing. You do not have to be, in the sense of the absolute or ultimate, perfect in all respects. I have known some of you who have carried special responsibilities in working with me, to be criticized because someone found this or that wrong with you—someone could find something to criticize in you. Oh yes, I know. But those who have carried those special responsibilities with me have all had one thing in common. There was at least one point where I could depend upon them absolutely at all times, under all circumstances, to be that, without regard to anything else. Maybe they do have their faults, maybe they are not the perfect expression of the Spirit of the Living Christ in all things, maybe they have a lot of room to grow. That is all right. That growing will work out in season if there is that one thing I can depend upon, one thing that is always there, one thing that is never denied by attitude or expression. Those who have been providing that one thing, dependable all the time, are the ones who have been providing what Focus I have had in this Creative Field, that might be used.

So, I trust that there is further cleansing this morning, and that all vain imaginings about what one's own God Being is, or was, or is going to be, have been set aside and cast out, that each one my realize that that which is of God that finds expression through you in outer form here on earth is that which makes you worthwhile. Nothing else counts, not in this moment. There may be other things that have a potentiality for the future but all that counts now is that which is now in form, in manifest expression on earth, from God through you. Your capacity to let the things of God manifest will surely increase as you let the cycles work, but that potential has no immediate value. It will have value when the form of its expression appears from God.

Let us not hinder the development and expression of the things of God through one another. Let us not make it harder for one another. Let us seek in all things to serve one another, so that we can make it as easy as possible to allow that which is of the Spirit of the Living Christ to find manifestation, and in so serving, we ourselves will be getting into that position, attitude and condition which will allow the increase of the working of the Spirit of God through us. I thank God for this hour and for your response therein. “Eye hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love and serve Him.”

This Is That Day!

This  Is  That  Day!

Uranda   November 19, 1949

Our Gracious and Loving Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for the privilege of gathering in Thy Name tonight. We thank Thee for the multitude of Thy Blessings which are past numbering, even as the stars of the sky are beyond number. We thank Thee for Thy Infinite Love, and for the realization of Thy Infinite Greatness that comes as we look into the beauty of the sky this night. We thank Thee for the wonders of the day and the glories of the night, whereby we are privileged in Thy Name to move onward and upward, that as One Body we may be lifted up unto Thee, allowing the expression of the fullness of Thy Will on Earth, that Thy Kingdom may come in Blessing to all who will receive; for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever, Aum-en.

This afternoon, New York time, the remains of one of our dearly beloved sisters was returned to the earth, even as her Spirit had before, on last Wednesday, returned to God. We remember with delight the short visit that Lily McCann was privileged to have with us here on Sunrise Ranch. She has gone Home to the Inner Planes of Being, and we rejoice to know the reality of Life that transcends that which is called death. In memory of the blessings made manifest because she lived, we thank God for the privilege of having had her with us in this Ministry for so many years.

Sometimes human beings, growing weary of the necessities of life in this world, are inclined to want to go Home to the Inner Planes of Being. I am not suggesting that this was true in the case of our sister who has passed on, but it seems to me that we might wisely consider for a few moments tonight the fact that while we live we must never forget that it is here on Earth that God has need of those who love and serve Him. The Heavens of the Inner Planes are filled with those who, in beauty and in Love, do adore and serve Him, and His Will is done, so that all things are perfect in expression and Being. It is not there, but here, that the great need is, and, when God sees fit to take Home one of His children, we who remain must not be selfish in any attitude which we may have, either to envy, or to be filled with regret.

We would not question the wisdom and goodness of God in having Ordained that we should live here to let His Will be done; neither would we find fault with His wisdom and goodness in having taken unto Himself one whom we have loved on earth. It is needful, therefore, that we should rejoice with a deep and solemn joy, in recognition of the beauty and the wonder of God's Way, and of the Holy privilege we have of walking therein. We can rest assured that those who dwell in the Inner Planes of Being are doing their part. They do not have to be persuaded to let  God's Will be done. They do not have to be impelled to do their part toward helping bring forth the fulfillment of that for which we labor.

Here on Earth it has pleased God to give us the responsibility of carrying on His Work in a realm where there are all too many who give no thought or heed to His Will. It has pleased Him to give us the privilege and responsibility of having a share in that fulfillment toward which the Prophets of past ages have looked with longing. How many there have been in ages past who, attuned to the Spirit of God, could look forward to the day when these things should be made manifest, and how they longed for the privilege of living on Earth at the appointed time. If all those who had had such a hope were gathered here, I think our number would be far increased. So, out of those who have lived in time past, out of those who live today, we here on Sunrise Ranch, and scattered throughout the field wherever true emissaries may be found, are the privileged ones to live on Earth today, and to have a share in that fulfillment toward which the Prophets have looked so long. This day is often referred to in the Holy Scriptures as that day. In “that day” so and so shall be true—in that day—and that day is here. We are living in it; we are sharing it.

I have wondered sometimes, as I have watched you living through the days and going about your tasks, what difference would it make if you could actually have continuously a vivid realization of what it means to live now, and have a share in that which is being done here in this time and place. We read in the history of God's activities in the affairs of men, as recorded in the Bible, of many wonderful things—many things that have been accomplished down through the centuries since the time of the fall. All of that has been moving to this time. This is the time, this is the day that brings all history to focus, and all that has ever been can have true meaning only as we let that meaning appear in that which is accomplished in this day and in this place.

As you were gathering for the Service tonight from your various places of abode, if you paused to look at the sky and to see the glories unfurled there, you must have touched something of the infinite greatness of the Cosmos, and of the greatness that is still greater—the greatness of the God Who brought it forth. That greatness has been emphasized down through the ages, as God has provided the various steps by which man might come at last to salvation. And all of those cycles of time, all of those lives that have been lived, all of the things that have been done, all of the things that have been suffered, all of the hopes, all of the longings, all of these centuries, find focus in this present moment of eternity, and we, a handful of people from among the tens of millions who dwell upon the face of the Earth, have the Holy and Sacred privilege of giving a focus of meaning to all of that. If we have any true realization of our responsibilities, and of our privilege, in this, we must surely recognize that we are indeed walking on Holy Ground, and that we are blessed of God beyond any blessings heretofore known to the children of men, that this should be our lot, our privilege, the Will of God for us.

Realizing such things, any feelings of self-pride or arrogance must surely vanish away in the depths of humility; and, realizing such things, we must surely recognize more fully than ever before the opportunity of being diligently about our Father's business, that we may live, and in living, be a blessing to all who will receive.

In the world, human beings try to attain to satisfaction by being self-centered, by trying to produce a focus of a little sphere of things engendered by their own efforts. Here, whether we look into the star-strewn sky, or whether we look into the ages past, we see something of that Infinity which we are privileged to bring to focus, not an uncertain little circle of human achievement, but a share in the Working of God on Earth, for here it is that His Kingdom needs to come; here it is that the Works of the Master and of those who have turned to God in ages past must be allowed to have meaning; here it is that the great step forward must be taken in order to allow the New Heaven and the New Earth to be a reality to the children of men.

Do we live in a tight little sphere of finite consciousness, running about like ants, having a world no larger than a few square feet, completely preoccupied with that which we can detect with the five senses? Or do we live in a magnificent sphere of infinite proportion, where the Cosmic Consciousness of God is allowed to have meaning, and we are privileged to let the meanings of God appear on Earth?

Where do we live? In a tiny prison of our own making, or in that vast domain of the Kingdom that is granted to those who enter into the glorious Liberty of the Children of God? Why do we live? To please ourselves in some cubby hole of our own making, like monkeys in a cage, or to please God in the infinite greatness of His Kingdom that is here, and not limited to some far away place?

If the Kingdom of our God is anywhere in all the Cosmos, if the Kingdom of our God has meaning in relationship to that star-strewn sky that stretches above us tonight, it has meaning here, for how could we separate this from that, and say they are not parts of the same thing? You look toward the sky this night and see the Milky Way, and then remember that this world, this Solar System, is a part of that. If God's Kingdom is there, it is also here—and we cannot separate ourselves from His Kingdom, though we may not live in the Kingdom. Yes, that is true. We cannot get away from the Kingdom of God, although we may not live in it. It is here, no matter what human beings do, no matter how blind they may be, no matter how stubborn and self-centered, the Kingdom is still here, waiting for those who will enter in and abide in it.

Yes, it is good to live in this world now. It is good to have the privilege of being one of the few from among the millions Called by our LORD and KING to share in the work of giving manifest focalization to all that has been done by all the Prophets and Faithful Ones of all ages past, that, coming down to this present point, we may truly let God's Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Where do we live? In the darkness of the world of misery that man has made, or in the Kingdom that God has made? In a prison cell, or in the limitless sphere that is Divinely Ordained? Let us, one and all, be ever about our Father's Business, letting His Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

O LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, we thank Thee that it is so, for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever. Aum-en.

The Peace, Purity and Perfection of the Living Christ be unto you, as you let yourselves be lifted up into that perfect state of Being that God has ordained for His children on Earth.

Peace Be Unto You
