Birth Out Of The Past Into The Present

I greet all of you who are present here. It is the present moment now—always has been and always will be. That simplifies things considerably. It is a very significant matter, usually overlooked, because human polarity is basically in the past. If one is polarized in the past, one will likely be speculating about the future, because of one's awareness or experience of what one deems to be of the past. It wasn't really of the past though, if it is a personal experience—it was always of the present. However, clearly there is a polarity in the past which is known to all of us.


We have seen this in terms of earthly heredity, human history out of the past; not merely of the things that we may think we know about consciously, but the vast majority of the past is a conditioning element subconsciously. What happened in the past seems to be present with us now in subconscious terms, from memory, from heredity, from history. This burden of the past follows us along and permeates our very flesh. It has seemed always quite difficult for human beings to extricate themselves from the past in order to experience, vividly, what is now present.


The present experience has always been conditioned and colored by what has been carried forward out of the past. We do not see things as they are. We have a blend of past events present with us, and through this fog we observe and experience the present. Yet the present moment is the only reality, when it is unconditioned by anything out of the past. If in our own experience it is conditioned by what has come out of the past and is now present with us subconsciously, our experience of the present moment will be very muted from what it really is—there will be a blanket spread over it. This is the fact, whether we like the idea or not, or whether we try to get rid of it. It is there. But we can become aware that our experience of the present moment is very inadequate because all this paraphernalia out of the past is conditioning what we know of the present. Yet we are all together in the present moment; and we have learned somewhat how to come to point in the present moment in such a setting as this, so that the things of the past do fade somewhat from consciousness, the external world recedes, and the real world begins to come to focus—the real world which is the world of the present moment.


From the human standpoint we have all this hereditary paraphernalia present with us. Whether we appreciate the fact or not, it is there, and it has formed what might be described as a womb. All our living has been from within this womb. We have been surrounded by, and permeated by, the past, as have all human beings. Everyone has been contained in this hereditary womb. It is of such a nature that in fact it hasn't proven to be a womb for the vast majority of people, out of which they might have been born perhaps. It has proven in the end to be a tomb in which they perished. The very genes which are present within us compel toward perishing—a fatal disease, suffered by the whole body of humanity.


So the womb has proven out, in virtually all human experience, to be a tomb in the end. But it can be a womb. I think we ourselves have been discovering this; there is a possibility of being born out of the womb of the past. If you are born out of a womb, the womb has rightly no more significance in the practical sense. You are no longer in it. It may be around somewhere, but you are no longer in it. Being born out of the womb, there is a different state. Presumably it is a more or less comfortable place in the womb; it is a familiar place at least.


There is this womb of the past then, the hereditary, historical past, in which human beings everywhere have been encased. There is certainly the necessity of being born out of this womb. This is the process that is actually in motion insofar as the whole body of mankind is concerned. It is happening now. We ourselves can bear a certain amount of witness to the fact that it is happening, because we have had some experience of factually being born out of the womb of the past into the experience of the present moment. It is not very vivid yet but is something other than what was the past experience, and the usual experience for most people.


The womb only has significance as long as one is in it. It provides the requirements for life in the womb, and human beings are quite familiar with life in this womb. What it would be outside of the womb, having been born from the womb, is quite an unknown quantity, just as unknown as it would be to the babe before it is born. It doesn't know what it is getting into. It knows what it is getting out of, and presumably there is a certain amount of reluctance to that because, after all, it was warm and comfortable and one could exist there. Of course it is not all that comfortable, even in the human sense of a babe in the womb, because for a lot of the time the mother is not comfortable and experiences disturbance of all kinds, which are known in the experience of the babe also, being in the womb.



Out of this womb of the past, humanity is in the process of being born, and if it is a natural birth the head comes first. There is in human experience a good deal of stress at the time of birth—the matter of pain to be delivered. We see a certain amount of stress occurring in the world, everywhere, with all people—more violent in some places than others. But still it is not a very comfortable world, on the whole, and something is happening. There is the process of birth in motion, and we ourselves have emerged sufficiently from the womb of the past to be aware of a different state. That different state may seem to have its problems initially. It is not familiar, and sometimes there is the desire to duck back into the womb again—and there are those who do this of course—but stay in the womb too long and you perish. It is a good idea to come out when the time is right. And for us, we have been aware that the time is right. We may see that it is not perhaps as right for others as yet as it is for us, but then the babe isn't born totally all at once. It comes out by degrees—headfirst as a rule; that is the best way. And so it happens in the body of humanity.


Another way of describing it—we may speak of it as resurrection. It is a rising up from a more limited condition into a more unrestricted condition. One's life has been maintained because of one's connections to the past heretofore, which is true of the babe in the womb. It is connected to the mother and shares the mother's bloodstream and is nourished thereby. So it has been in the human state, in the darkness of the womb. But this can be used to advantage as a place from which to be born. That is one of the alternatives. The other is that one can stay in and realize the state as being not a womb but a tomb. This is what has happened, individually speaking, down the ages. It hasn't quite happened yet insofar as mankind as a whole is concerned. But there is the presence of pain to be delivered, right now; and how long the labor will be remains to be seen.


We ourselves have a certain dawning consciousness of the possibility of life beyond the tomb, or the womb, as the case may be. The body of mankind is wrapped up in the past, nourished by what has come out of the past. Great store is put by the things of the past. But that is not applicable if birth takes place. It may seem to be applicable while one is in the womb, but come out of the womb and you are in a totally new state and condition, in a new place altogether, and the old nourishment and sources of nourishment are valueless. Well there is a break to be made. Eventually the cord has to be severed, so that the newborn babe can begin to live on its own without nourishment out of the past.


This is all very descriptive of what is occurring, of which we ourselves in fact have some experience because no doubt we have exhibited some willingness to relinquish our grasp upon the past. Mind you, the past seems to reach out and grab us at times, so that we begin to function once again on the basis of the past, or what is present in the womb. But if we are ever to come clear, to be born in fact, then we cannot depend upon nourishment out of the past. It must be relinquished; for if we try to retain or maintain it we will remain in the womb and eventually perish therein. One must be born at the time appointed if one is to survive. This relates to the whole of mankind, and to each part which composes that whole.


We are all a part of this One Body in the process of emergence, and we get a glimpse of the world into which we are emerging first, apparently. Presumably that indicates a part of the head, and this can be a very exciting experience if we will let it be so. Look! here is something new; here is something freeing and wonderful, a coming out of the very restricted and dark place into an expansive place filled with light. That is what is happening. We can close our eyes to it and try to hold onto the past, but that is a dangerous thing to do. The past is passing away; the first heaven and the first earth are in the process of passing away. Those who try to hold on to the past—mostly this is done subconsciously—find themselves involved in a great deal of violence and destruction, because it is passing away. We see the emotional involvement of people in their past, starkly revealed in the events occurring the world around. The media doesn't report everything that is going on on earth, just selected events which, in the eyes of the media are the significant ones. They may not be the significant ones at all.


In any case, wherever this earthly heredity is strong and people are emotionally involved with it, you have violence, increasingly so. It is one way of taking the earthly heredity out. If one is involved in it one will likely go out with it too. But this is a purifying process. It is much more satisfactory to let it be done naturally and easily, to participate in the process of birth as the babe, not as the placenta. That comes out too, but that is rubbish after the birth has taken place, and should be disposed of. The same sort of thing is happening on the worldly scene, and we all have a part to play. But we play it significantly and valuably just to the extent that we are capable of functioning in the present moment, undisturbed, uninfluenced, untroubled by the past, clear of the past, out of the womb.


Obviously there is a process involved here. Different parts of the babe come out in sequence, but eventually the whole babe is out. We wouldn't speculate at all on the time elements involved here—but we do have a responsibility, personally speaking, because we have a certain awareness of these things and what is happening, not just from the standpoint of theory, looking at it as some sort of observers separate from what is going on. We are a part of what is going on and we have a responsibility in the matter, being concerned rather deliberately with relinquishing our polarization in the past.



So much is deemed to be of value out of the past. It was of value in the womb; we acknowledge that fact; but if we are outside the womb it is of no more value. And we emerge out of the womb into the present moment. We emerge out of the past into the present moment. That is the eternal moment. There isn't any other, ever. Eternal life is right there in the present moment.


We have talked about these things, we have looked at them from time to time, but thus far had rather a minimum of experience. Theoretically, “Yes. Yes, that is right.” We will agree that this is so, but then we go on to something else because the past compels us to do it; and we lose our positioning in the present, we lose our experience of reality, and we find ourselves in the fanciful world once again.


We ourselves, together with the whole body of humanity, are in the process of being born out of the womb. We will prove out, as we go along, as to whether we are a part of the babe or a part of the placenta, the afterbirth. This is true of everybody. We prove out that we are part of the babe because we are no longer being governed and nourished by what is coming out of the past, through heredity individually speaking, or heredity collectively speaking. We tend to repeat, don't we, what has happened in the past. We haven't come out of it yet, entirely.


The Word, or the words, can be spoken now by anyone. It is in the actual experience of what happens, not what we think should happen, not what we think is going to happen. We don't know. The experience necessary is what is in the present moment—that is sufficient. The past is not the source for the future; that is only so when we are in the womb. Outside the womb the present moment is experienced as a new state. Just saying that is one thing, but actually to know it, because real significance is seen and understood and begins to be experienced relative to this, is what allows the birth to occur.


We have done quite a bit of talking about this process of birth before, which can be useful because we are more aligned than we would be if we had not talked about it. Many people are in rather a less fortunate position because they have had no basis for understanding as yet. However, if those who do have a basis of understanding let it happen as it should happen, the head comes out, [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2022/11/the-collective-body.html] then the body is going to follow, because it is all connected. So the first fruits of the birth are vitally important. Let the first fruits come on through and the rest will come on through very easily and probably quite quickly.


So we look to the experience, rather than to mere words which describe the experience. I am sure that all of you would say that you are very willing to let it happen, but we will find out how genuine those words are as the actual experience comes. One can be very boastful, can't one, about something that is going to come: “Oh yes. I'll be there, right there, and providing what is necessary.” But when the time comes, what then? Well let's find out, when the time comes.


So we may allow this continuing creative movement to happen in our own experience because we are aware of what the happening is. We described it this morning as birth from the womb of the past, that the womb [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2023/07/from-womb-unto-womb.html] may be proven as being a womb and not, as heretofore, merely a tomb. I am thankful for the opportunity of having greeted all of you here present this morning through these words. And everyone who is present in spirit is so greeted likewise. Whether they are here, or at the other ends of the earth, makes absolutely no difference.

Mary Janak — I’d like to welcome each one of you.  I’m delighted to be here with Robert. I’ve had a wonderful time creating with him and, in preparing, connecting with different friends; so this has truly been from the beginning a collective effort; and I have the privilege and honor of speaking for all of us, actually, so that in this hour the Tone of Life we sound will bless our worlds; and I recognize and respect the substance that each person brings. Robert, I believe we have a video to play.

What beauty that was, that touched my heart. Maybe it touched yours as well. Water—a symbol of Truth, and the first of the four creative forces—water, air, earth and fire. And the eagle—majestic, noble, powerful, visionary and free. Here’s what Uranda had to say about the flying eagle, in a service titled The “Four Beasts” on June 19, 1953: “The flying eagle—the symbol of the Lord of Truth. When we begin to become acquainted with the reality of Truth, what do we find? There is an ability to move in the air of spirit: the flying eagle, not something that is earthbound, not something that is limited to one little point here or there. And what is the nature of the eagle? The eagle is called the king of birds; the eagle carries a very positive pattern… But the nature of an eagle, the bearing of an eagle, what it suggests in relationship to the positive expression of Being!”


We know what it is to move in the air of Spirit; to express Spirit in the daily moments of our lives; to move with the creative process through all the situations of our lives. And because of this, it occurred to me that our individual lives are celebrations of victory. And our service times like these are also celebrations of victory, because we come together physically as a body in agreement to serve our LORD and KING.


We experience victory because we choose to live the Truth. I know this victory when I choose to be controlled, and to act, to my highest understanding of what is right that I know in my deepest heart, to contribute to the circumstances of my life, just as they are, no matter what I feel about them, and not try to change them. To listen to the Word of guidance from Who I Am about the right time, the right place, the right way. To seek the most creative and uplifting outcome, always. For what else could I do? Nothing. That’s my purpose. And I know the experience of love when I do this. First and foremost, it’s love for the One I Am, and above us all, our LORD and KING, Who focalizes this beautiful earth. And out of that first commandment comes the second, love for others. Every moment of living is an attunement.


Here is something Martin had to say about love and truth, in a service titled “Truth Accepted” on December 12, 1962 [TSS 10:68] “Love and truth are, in fact, inseparable… for love to be creative [that fire force] … it must manifest in the right design, the true design, under God’s control. Then it is creative. The truth, containing within itself the elements of divine design and control, is therefore essential to the manifestation of love at all levels of being.”


The truth of love, as we know it in our own experience, heals us and other people, it uplifts us, and it’s unifying; it’s unifying for everyone, anywhere, who seeks to live their highest integrity. It is all-inclusive. But fight the fire of love through self-will and you will feel the burn. That is the design of how things are.

The creative process transforms us if we are willing to be made whole—if I am willing to be made whole. I and we travel up the Spiral of Life in our process of becoming whole. I suspect it’s a journey without end. Even beyond this physical form, I suspect there is constant creativity, change and growth. In my experience, over the years of my life, I’ve found that moving through the creative process is miraculous, especially when I’ve been in circumstances that have been very challenging, to say the least. I know I speak for all of us in saying that. And what this leaves me with is the deepest gratitude in my heart for the One I Am and for our LORD and KING.


I have found it’s true—the truth is an immovable object. It’s absolute. It’s “yes” or “no”. There’s no in between. It’s a foundation I have lived on since I first became aware of it. It has sustained me and brought me to now, and I know I will stand on it for the rest of my time here on earth. Martin made this important point about truth, in a service from November 1, 1981 titled “Being the Truth”:


“The quality and character of this immovable mass of truth is a constant; it endureth forever; but the Truth causes movement. If we provide in our own experience of living that immovability of truth, then all around us things move. The question then arises as to whether that movement around us is going to dissipate our experience of immovability.


“When we are one with the Truth, we reveal the Reality of being. We are. We are what we are. I am that I am. And nothing can make it otherwise. This indicates something of the real nature and quality of the rock, our own true being. So we are present on earth in the world to make manifest that rock… We remain unmoved in our hearts by the changes…”


And yet at the same time, our hearts are moved and filled with passion to live by the truth of love that we each know. I feel a passion to live my purpose here on earth. So that when my time is complete, I may hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” What could be more meaningful? The key word is to live—to do. Not just talk about what I think is true. But to speak and act in ways that are true. So, in considering this for this morning, I thought of this question:  “What do I know to be true because I have lived it, and I am living it now?”



A few things came to mind that I’d like to share with you. But before I do, I’d like to say: I know you have lived these truths, too, and you could add many more to the few that I’m going to describe. And my purpose in offering them into our field of substance is attunement. To have a specific time of unified radiation beyond us on these points of agreement that are backed up by the substance, the rich substance, of our living, each one of us. So here are a few of the truths that I know in my life:


I go in the direction of my response.


I respond to my Lord, the One I Am. My decision is made. It is absolute. It is irrevocable.


Although the circumstances in my life change, these are my opportunities to apply my absolute decision.

To live the truth of my decision. That I respond to the Lord first and foremost.


I will not let anything stop me from fulfilling my spiritual purpose.


My presence has power. It is the power of the One I Am.


When I become free in my limitations, then I can become free from my limitations.


Whatever is true, cannot be lost.


So in this substance, I would offer a prayer: O Lord, let my heart be pure, so that I may see with Thy vision what the right thing is to do. And not only see, but may I have the strength, the courage, the wisdom, and ability to act on it. To Thy glory, Amen.


We know the victory in our lives, and nothing can take that away because it is true. So let us give thanks to our LORD and KING for this tremendous gift of living here on earth now—that we may be of service now; that we know the confidence and assurance of living in the truth of love. We know the joy of living and of creating together. Let it continue.  Robert has an audio to play of Uranda chanting “The Land of the Living”, and after that Robert will speak.


Robert Kauffman — I want to thank Mary for choosing to have us play that chant. I’m going to read it now since the words are not easily understood. I think they’re very important to the development of the offering this hour:

So when I first saw these words, a question immediately came to mind: where is this land of the living Uranda speaks of? My mind hearkened back to a conversation that I shared with David and some others in which he commented that the Temple of Light service pattern has entered into the Earth phase now that we have begun our third year. That conversation was back in March, and I realize that over the last three months, my heart and mind have been filled with feelings and thoughts of the Earth—this place where I live—and we live. It’s the only place I’ve ever known within the range of physical experience. 


Now, as Mary so beautifully began to describe, we are beginning to understand that “the Land” also refers to another place, a holy place within which we may live together in a shared understanding that “the Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein.” And we are coming to an understanding that the ways in which we have thought about the world may need to change. Oh, we’ve made judgments about all kinds of things in our past. For millennia our forebears have been making judgments and forming beliefs that simply are not true. The earth in which we live actually falls under the pattern of essential truth, as Mary has described.


In the past, we’ve talked about a veil in relation to our understanding of this essential truth, and I’ve thought about what’s meant by this word for years. Now, is this something that God inflicted upon us?—you know, with the cherubim wielding those flaming swords that hold us back from Heaven? And it keeps coming back home to me that that’s not it at all. It’s the judgments we make, it’s the thoughts we hold, and it’s all our unnatural biases.


I want to tell you about a particular book that just really floored me, caught my attention in an unusual way. It’s by Paco Calvo and it’s called “Planta Sapiens”, a book that explores the possibility that plants have intelligence—that they have consciousness. What he presents is actually quite convincing although he admits, in all humility, that he doesn’t have the last word. Scientists still have many experiments to do. But as far as the public is concerned, something else stands in the way.


I’ve just been speaking about the last 150 pages of this book; however, in the first 50 pages, Calvo did something I’ve never seen anybody do before. He takes a full one quarter of the book to inform the reader that there’s no point in even beginning to consider the consciousness of plants unless you, the reader, can find it in yourself to allow your own consciousness to shift. He calls it: “Plant Blindness” and a principle aspect of this is that we’re genetically wired to be interested in watching things that move—like animals. Plants don’t move—well they do, but very slowly. There’s record of researchers, even hundreds of years ago, setting up experiments to chart how vines will grow in circles, step by step, constantly picking away at different objects within their reach to find something to hang on to as they grow.  They give evidence of choices made: a thought process by all appearances. But Paco was saying from the very beginning, “you’re not going to easily believe me.  Plants just stand there; they’re nothing like us.”


The reason why this has attracted me is because it gives indication of many people in this world who are choosing to explore this planet in an entirely different way—particularly regarding living organisms. Life is such a special, unique condition. I think sometimes we’re so imbued with it, we’re just so surrounded by it, that we lose track of what it really is: the design and control that absolutely underscores every aspect of our lives. I’m developing a point here. Last month, in his service, Gary Courtland-Miles spoke about listening, listening for the Word, a discerning of the cycles [templeoflightservices.blogspot.com/2023/06/radiant-listening-and-joyous-service.html] that are moving round about us. I would introduce to you today that it’s important for us to look as well. It’s not just that plants and animals may have capabilities, mental and emotional capabilities, that we have ceased acknowledging—perhaps protecting ourselves through reaction and judgment.  It’s time to start to look once again to begin seeing what we’ve missed.



Last week I was introduced to a service that Martin gave 40 years ago called “Activation of the Seventh Sense” [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2019/01/from-activation-of-seventh-sense-martin.html]. I’ll get to that “seventh sense” a bit later but I want to start with an analogy he developed about walking. With walking you’re actually shifting your balance continuously and you’re moving from a known state to an unknown state, and it gets more interesting—let me read: “With running, it can be rhythmic and care can be taken that the steps go in the right place and the movement therefore can be quicker. I suppose carrying this analogy through a bit, we might reach a point one day when we can leap upon the mountains and skip upon the hills, but it is only because we have developed the facility for doing this on a deliberate and intelligent basis. Whatever the extent of our motion thus far, it is carrying us into the unknown, but we are never far from the known.”


In this service he talked a lot about observation, looking. It’s not so much what nature has to teach us as it is to see the cycles that are working out all around us.  I’ll give you a couple of examples that you might not be particularly aware of. For instance plants and fungi have an incredible relationship. In fact the truth is that most plants cannot live without the fungi. In many cases the fungi create their own system of roots called mycelia which actually live within the root system of the plants—and not just next to them but fully inside them. Any why do they do this? This isn’t just a dog-eat-dog world or survival of the fittest; no, they do it to nourish one another. The trees and other plants need nourishment from the ground, the minerals which the fungi provide. And the fungi don’t photosynthesize; they need the sugars provided by the plants. They work together. And I can give you one other example, this one being much closer to home. Remember the phrase from the Bible: “closer than hands and feet.” Well let me assure you that within your digestive system, you have all kinds of creatures living in there. They’re not you; they don’t share your DNA. And we couldn’t live without what we call our “gut flora”. We have developed and grown together with these creatures over a very long time.


I’m suggesting that the earth can teach us much that is necessary but also it can only teach us just so far. Life on earth reflects the truth, but there’s a ceiling to what can be learned this way. So how do we reach beyond? Martin spoke about the seventh sense [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2019/01/from-seventh-sense-martin-cecil-june-5.html] and I would like to present something else I’ve been thinking a lot about over the past few months. This is what became known as the “Blessing Song”—originally written by Martin Cecil around 1976, and later put to music by John Simituck:


Thankful are we now to be

Filled with praise Lord to Thee

So shall our living bless the earth

You may realize by now that I love science, and to me, these words are an equation. Thankfulness is paramount, whether it’s “I” or “we” and filling every now. With what?—“filled with praise” and how?—“Lord to Thee”. Now that’s the First Great Commandment. But the First Great Commandment is accompanied by the Second Great Commandment: “to love thy neighbor as thyself”, and we are in the process of seeing this prove itself out within our lives. We can see that our working together in union, as if our lives depended on it, parallels the working of our gut flora in our bodies and the roots and mycelia. There is a connection there that we absolutely cannot live without. It’s the truth, the Truth of Life on this planet—the only life we know. And as we open our hearts and our eyes and our ears we begin to understand that thankfulness is not just a lack of resolve and taking control—I remember Martin spoke of the tendency to jump into decision-making and planning in fearful reaction to events. “It’s scary having to speak publicly, or design a building, or even talk to my friends without thinking ahead and making a judgment of what I should say or do next: How’s it all going to work?”


But to be thankful is to take a positive stance. It pops up all around us in our living: thankfulness for the trust, for the assurance, and for the consistency of my living—of the life that meets us in every moment. It’s incredibly effective because thankfulness is the opposite of judgment and fear. And with thankfulness what does this lead to? It leads to “praise”—what I would call the “wow-factor”. As we start to realize that there are some amazing aspects to the trust we place on life and that life puts in us, our hearts leap with praise. I suspect all animals, all creatures, do this. I had one experience of remarkable praise about twenty years ago, while visiting my sister in Thailand. She lived in a forest where somebody let all the chickens run wild to live within the forest. And one morning I happened to wake up about 4:30, just as it was starting to get light, I heard this first little chirp up in the trees and then a couple of cackles among the chickens as they roamed around on the forest floor. And as I sat and listened, the calls grew louder and louder and much more intense. About 5:00 or 5:30 it had become this incredible symphony of sounds. Every once in a while a rooster would crow and in branches way above me, there was a squirrel doing pushups in time to the music! Now if that’s not praise and glory and the fullness of life lived to the greatest, I don’t know what is. And I’m beginning to realize that I have the capacity to feel such deep praise within me—the same with all of you. That kind of lived praise really is a simple but powerful thing.



“So shall our living bless the earth” and the HOLY KING shall once again walk upon the earth in consciousness. I can’t help but wonder at how Martin could put it all together in such a clear and short song; there are so many broad implications. I would like to sing it for you now. This is the only song I know; I can never seem to remember the words to anything else. But when people insist: “Oh, Robert, what sacred song can you share?” I want you to know that it has been warmly received in some wonderful gatherings. Robert sang the “Blessing Song”.


I’ve had some time this morning to share my heart and thoughts and I now would like to offer to all of you to add your own voice. And please don’t refrain from singing if you so feel moved.


Deborah Starrs — Robert and Mary, I so much appreciate what you've shared with us this morning, particularly in terms of essences. Recently I was contracted to paint a mural. It's not so much about the painting of the mural, but that it caused me to scrutinize and observe the desert scene much more carefully, and to really appreciate the beauty that surrounds me here in the desert. I have a saying in doing art, that “If I can't see it, I can't do it”, and I think that's a principle that's true of so much of living. We see with our hearts, and something translates through to our minds and action. In fact, we're dealing with essences all the time, related to 10,000 myriad things in living. It's the art of living, to give thanks and to translate that accurately, with the tone in our moment to moment living. So thank you so much for bringing all this this morning.


Marsha Bogolin — Mary and Robert, I have tears wetting my eyes. I want to start Robert, with your song. You may think, “Well, I didn't sing perfectly”, but actually to me, it was absolutely perfect. As I looked at you (you know, you have a nose rather like Martin's) I felt Martin's heart through you, in him having written that song. With his British background, Martin didn't reveal it quite as vividly as you did, so that was a real gift for me. Also a gift was the experience you described of deeply looking, deeply sensing the LORD's design and control—that is so strong with me these days—the symbiotic relationship of all of nature. And Mary, that video with the eagle! I have seen many pictures of eagles and some videos, but I've never seen one that shows the eyes so vividly, and I could sense what the eagle is seeing as it showed what it was flying through. When you offered your prayer there was a point at which I looked into your eyes and they were the same eyes as that eagle—the purity of heart that you spoke in your prayer: that you might be able to see what to do and have the courage and strength to do it. Your absoluteness, the way you describe that, your absoluteness of love for the truth. It has been a riveting experience for me. Thank you so much.



Millicent Holliday — I too had tears in my eyes because what I sensed you both brought was being naked and unashamed before the LORD. And you bought reverence. It was beautiful. Thank you both so much.


Bill Bahan — I loved flying in the air of the spirit with both of you and appreciating the beauty of your spirits. I loved the symbolism of the eagle flying in the air of the spirit. There is such wonderful freedom as we fly in the air of the spirit, unencumbered by anything around us. That is total freedom, and that is total joy, because wherever there is the actual experience of freedom, there's always joy, always a sense of praise for the fact that we find ourselves in form on earth with this ability to live in the air of the spirit. As we were listening to Uranda's chanting, I heard something of the North American Native Indians in that chant, and we know that they had a certain attunement with the Spirit of God, and that was one of their ways of expressing that, and it's so powerful. And I loved your singing Robert. You and I have spent many hours together, and I've only heard you sing once before, and I knew you had a tremendous resonant voice. So don't hide that voice Robert—keep singing. And thank you Mary, for pointing out the fact that our times together are a celebration of victory, because we're flying together in the air of the spirit. It's always a true celebration to come together with all of you. I was amazed, Robert, that you should quote from Martin's service, “Activation of The Seventh Sense”, because that's one of the services I'm going to send out this Saturday, July 1st. You and I have never spoken about this service, but evidence of the fact that we fly together. So it's good to take this flight with you, all of you. Thank you both, Mary and Robert, for our time together.


Anne Blaney — Robert, I was also intrigued at that hint you dropped about the seventh sense. Maybe you didn't describe it but we began to experience it with you. While you were speaking Robert, to give you a little update from the world of nature, there's been so much activity outside as your voice was sounding in this house that it was almost comical. I've had squirrels run by the door, birds sweeping across the window and I kept thinking, “Do they hear Robert's voice?” I was thinking how Life is the product of Love and Truth, as we spoke about earlier with Mary's portion regarding the Spirit of Truth, and so by looking at essences of life we can see that the product of the union of Love and Truth is Life; and as you so beautifully described life—the plant world, how it senses, how that vine senses what to hold on to—we have this incredible seventh sense, to discern the essences that Deborah was mentioning, and connect essences to this larger Being that we are part of, a Being that comes to focus, as we increasingly listen for and hear and perceive with the seventh sense which, as humans, we have been designed to be capable of doing. So I love the richness and the complexity of life together, with the lovely description of that immovability of truth, and the vibrancy of life that you both brought together in this service. We do have this exceptional opportunity of being and dwelling in the land of the living. Thanks.



Davina Misroch — Robert, Mary, I want to capture an essence that seemed to weave between the two of you. It was articulated in words by Mary, and it struck me so strongly that I wrote it down. And I think that Robert you actually lived it. “I will not let anything stop me from living my spiritual purpose.” That is what came radiating out of this service this evening. From my standpoint, listening to both of you, combining it, that's the essence that came radiating forth. Thank you.


Robert Kauffman — Well, I will make one more comment. Davina, nothing can stop us as we join together in one heart, in one mind, focused on the LORD. I would like to give Mary a chance to respond, if you would like.


Mary Janak — Thank you Robert. Thank you everyone. My heart is full of the rich substance of this time, and sometimes it is difficult for me to find the words when I feel so deeply. But there is joy in living, and joy is natural to us. And we know that joy. It is our Father's good pleasure that we share the Kingdom. The Kingdom is not only at hand, it is in our experience now—nowyes. We let goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our life because we express it, and we are doing now what we came to do. As Robert said, we are doing it together.  So I give thanks, we give thanks. Let us give thanks to our LORD and KING.


David Barnes — Robert and Mary, I appreciate both of you. Early on Mary, you emphasized that it is the Spirit of Truth that causes movement. The power of the Spirit of Love moving through the Patterns of Truth causes a particular kind and quality of movement. This is uncommon in the history of our world, where truth has not been the spirit that has been dominant in the hearts and minds of acquisitive and angry people enveloped in shame and struggling. It certainly has not been the Spirit of Truth in expression. And so the power of love had to move through channels that were not true to the truth. And yes, movement happened, but that kind of movement doesn't get us anywhere really—it is just the same old round. But now something different is happening in the world because the Spirit of Truth is rising. And the Spirit of Love flowing from the Lord of Love, through the Body of Truth that we may provide, brings a different kind of movement into the world, and that which doesn't belong, that isn't true to the truth, gets moved out of the way. The pattern of life begins to appear, in accord with the sweet, beautiful substance and forms of Life in the Garden of Glory. So now, something different is happening. If the seventh sense is opened, I see and know things that are uncommon in the world. I see how the Spirit of Love is moving through the Channels of Truth that are now developing, and the Garden experience is returning—for those with eyes to see it, and ears to hear the beautiful music of the Garden. This is something that is actually happening today, through people who allow a focus of the Spirit of the Truth of Love to be present. There is the release of a current, invisible and vibrational, moving out of the way that which doesn't belong, and allowing to reappear, step-by-step, the beautiful revelation of the Garden of God. I hear it and I see it all around me. We are here to allow these things to continue, so the whole world is restored to the Garden State—and the King and Queen of Love are seen and known to be present in the Garden. And we are of that Royal Garden Nature, here to steward the Garden of God, as we have done so simply this morning. And I thank you both for stirring us in various ways that are uncommon in this world. I am grateful.



Yujin Pak — Thank you David; that’s so beautiful. I am so appreciative of all that has been shared in this time, through each one. And thank you Robert, for the depth of heart passion you expressed for your song and words. But I want to go back to what you shared Mary, because there's something of a particular essence that came through that is so important for us to mark and amplify. I thought that you took divine action through what you expressed—your positive expression of being. The prayer that you shared let my heart be so pure that I may see with right vision. What you shared was the right vision from your pure heart. And I felt that in what you expressed you did something very particular. It was, to me, you set the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of the Lord of Truth, the Spirit of the Divine Eagle free in our midst, and through us in the world—a world that has a tremendous amount of confusion, including those who once knew Martin. A tremendous amount of confusion. It set something free of the Spirit of the Lord the Truth, the eagle—and when you showed that video of the eagle I felt a noble spirit and the crooked nose of Martin, the noble spirit of Martin—the noble spirit of the Lord of Truth. You said the truth is absolute, the truth is immovable, and yet all around it begins to move when it's present. And if we are not moved by all that moves, then we continue to express the immovable force into the world. The importance of the Spirit of Truth, in some ways more than the Spirit of Love, has been forgotten. What is needed more is not love, it's the Truth of Love—and that is Love. And you brought that sharply to focus today. When that eagle was flying in the video, I felt the reality and spirit of the truth of the LORD's Body—that eagle is the LORD's Body. And may the passion of our being together be that eagle. Marsha mentioned about the seeing the eye of the eagle. I noted that too—the vivid clarity of that eye that sees, and sees through all the confusion and represents the Lord of Truth, serving the Lord of Love. So, thank you for that specific action you took to release the Spirit of the Lord of Truth, and of that eagle in our midst, and into the world.


Mary Janak — Thank you Yujin. And what I'm experiencing now is an indescribable love—for you, for what you have expressed, your unique spirit and purpose. Bringing that to focus as you did is remarkable. And all that we have shared, and all the comments, contribute their own remarkable piece to the experience that we have now, the vision that we have now, the substance that we have now. And I feel in my heart of hearts the LORD's Promise: the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, is always with us. And we continue on with new vision, free in the air of spirit, to discover what the LORD would bring forth through us, because it is the LORD Who is building our house. And we are building that house on the foundation of truth, stable, immoveable, knowing that the glories of Life will appear in their season.


Steve Ventola — Mary and Robert, you've given us a clear choice today, a more articulate choice, that there's only one way to go. And the sensing is, blessed of the pure in heart for we shall see God. Blessed are the pure and heart for we shall see God. Let's continue along these lines, making the choice, of saying “Yes”—and realizing there's a clear choice in the truth. And the sixth sense, if we're only relying on our intuitive sense, we judge, there's judgment to the world. But our seventh sense, through a pure heart, allows for acknowledging the truth in every single moment, whoever we're with, acknowledging life as it is—as Robert, you so clearly expressed. Let’s all continue in the Way. Our next Temple of Light service will be on July 23rd, with Yujin Pak leading our time—and we look forward to that.

This is the hour of evening meditation on July 11, 1954, in the Chapel on Sunrise Ranch. We have been considering together the Principle of Reciprocity, [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2019/10/from-reciprocity-uranda-july-10-1954.html] and through this pattern of meditation we have drawn closer to an understanding of that which is essential if we are to rise above that level of function and accomplishment which is already established and widely known in the world. There has been a beginning, as we all well know, in relationship to accomplishing that which is necessary in the LORD's service in the earth, but we also know that there is a need for greater power, a greater degree of accomplishment, than we have yet known.


We have recognized that increasing power, as such, would not be helpful but would only bring devastating results. We see this in the world as a whole; for man, through his application to the study of the principles in physics, has reached a point where increased power is available to his uses, and now, having that increased power, the world trembles lest it be used without a control which recognizes the dignity of human life, the value of our civilization, the meaning of that which has been attained through centuries of effort and suffering.


The fact that this increased power is present, and increased control is not present in the world as a whole, brings us to the state in which we find ourselves. There are those who would use this increased power for constructive purposes, to further the benefits which may be derived for humanity as a whole; but the control on that basis is absent, and those who do not recognize the sanctity of human life have a high degree of control, which means a lack of control in the sense of the constructive, and the world trembles. Increased power, in and through us, without the development of the control which makes use of that power on a constructive basis would be just as devastating, just as terrible.


To my mind—and if you are not in position to agree with me in this, I don't ask you to do so; I present it as my personal view—to my mind this development with respect to atomic power and what is called the H-bomb became possible in the outer physical field only because a real step had been taken toward the increase of spiritual power through man. If the outworking of God's Plan on earth had not moved forward, if there had not been real steps taken by which the spiritual power might be made manifest on earth, I do not think that man could have reached the point he has with respect to the physical manifestation of power which we might well classify as the counterpart of spiritual power.


Now if you do not accept this view for any reason whatsoever, then you must of necessity separate in your own minds between that which is being accomplished here and that which is being accomplished in the great laboratories of the world where the developments with respect to atomic power are being carried forward. If we fail to see the correlation between that in which we are engaged and that which commands the attention of the world, we make that to which we are called in the name of our KING to be of little or no value. By such an attitude we establish a basis on which our only hope can be defeated. Even here where the Program is centered in relationship to this ministry, where with our lips and with our minds we have recognized a degree of dedication to the LORD's service, there has not yet come a sufficiently vivid realization of the vital importance to the world as a whole, as well as to ourselves, of that in which we are engaged. It is of importance to us, but it tends to be secondary in actual practice to personal issues of various sorts, in various ways. It is difficult for me to approach this subject and deal with it without making some personal reference to myself, which could be misunderstood, and if it is misunderstood it will tend to hinder our Program, at least for the time being, rather than to help. But when I have talked of spiritual power, human minds have tended to have only a very vague concept, which was largely unrelated to my hearers insofar as their consciousness was concerned. There was not a real, personal consciousness of relatedness to the reality of that power. Primary dependence has not been placed in that power in actual fact. Some of you may think that you have, but in a general sense, actually you have not.


Now if I came into the world with a Divine Commission—and there is the point of possible divergence of viewpoint and opinion, and that is the reason I put it this way, not because there is any doubt in my own mind but because I recognize that there has been, and can be, doubt in other people's minds—but if I came into the world with a Divine Commission, which has been the motivating factor in building this ministry to this point, it is obvious that the development of the Program in the overall sense would not be left strictly to that which was directly involved in the sense of this ministry as such. This that we are doing here is of utmost importance, yes; but that which I came into the world to accomplish is not in any sense limited to that which is being done here.



Many cycles were established and opened up in the world to be carried forward more or less simultaneously in many fields, not just that which was immediately in front of me in a visible sense, which has come to the point which we share in this hour. Now, to whatever degree any human mind has the idea that that in which I am engaged, and that for which I am responsible, is pictured here, that person has not yet caught the vision. From the standpoint of those who do not have a basis for that vision a statement with respect to anything else seems to be arrogant, seems to be egotistical, seems to be utterly fantastic, and I know that. And you recognize, having heard me a number of times, that it is very seldom that I make any definite, direct reference to myself in relationship to this development here or the world program.


My business is the presenting of the truth. But as we have continued to this point where we can begin to glimpse, at least, the actual working of the Principle of Reciprocity, it has carried forward to a point where I cannot refrain—and be true to that Commission which brought me here—I cannot refrain from bringing to your attention certain facts, whether they seem to you to be fantastic or not. But if you imagine that that in which I am engaged is limited to that which is here known and here formed, you are very wrong.


There are many fields where individuals have permitted themselves to be the means by which cycles have been initiated, where those involved have absolutely no awareness of any idea that I, as a person or a being, have anything whatsoever to do with that which they are doing. They do not know anything about it, and to those who do not have the true vision it would seem fantastic and ridiculous for me to suggest that I do have something to do about it, because in the external sense, shall we say, I am not in position—nor am I interested, in fact—I am not in position to offer what would be classified as conclusive proof. But on the face of the evidence of that which is taking place in the world, to those who have any vision here, it will not seem so fantastic to realize that the cycles initiated were not limited to that which was directly and personally under my hand in an outer sense.


This is that which is moving toward the fulfilment of the Law in human beings, so that spiritual power might manifest under control. Concurrently, other cycles were initiated through individuals who had no awareness of a personal relationship with me and the Program, who had no idea that they were doing anything in relationship to a Cosmic Plan, generally speaking anyway, and who had no idea of any endeavor such as this. And if tonight we suggested to them that what they are doing is related to this, probably every one of them would laugh at the idea. They would conceive it to be fantastic and ridiculous.


Now I am not in the slightest degree interested in convincing them that there is any correlation, and if you find it fantastic within yourself, I am not interested in convincing you. But if we are to understand the significance and importance of what we are doing we need to begin to see it, we need to begin to know, not just from the standpoint of what I know but from the standpoint of what we all know, because if this is not seen and accepted and realized, we are never going to reach the point where we can exert the essential control to prevent the other cycles, which have been opened up concurrently, from going clear out of control. And if they go out of control, whose fault will it be? Will we say, “Oh, that was the fault of the Soviet dictatorship”? Well, they perhaps played a part, or will play a part, in helping to make things go out from under control, or at least seem to, but whose fault will it be? Yours and mine.


I will share the fault because I share with you the responsibility of this Program you share with me, and I have accepted you in that capacity. When it comes right down to it, what you do, as long as you accept, even on the surface, a part with me in this Program, what you do is my responsibility. If you do something wrong, I have to share the results of that wrong action. If I did not I could not protect you from the results of your wrong action. And have I ever done so? Do any of you here know that I have protected you from the results of your wrong action in the past? If I had not accepted you, and accepted the possibility of having to suffer from the results of your wrong action, I would not have been in position to protect you one iota. That is the basic fact, whether it is understood or not, whether it is accepted or not. So, what you do is my responsibility, and if you do something wrong I have to share the results of that wrong action as if I myself had done it, as if I had spoken the word or done the deed, whatever it may be. I have to share it too. So on this basis I do quite a number of wrong things every day, and I have to share the consequences, and I don't think you have ever heard me complaining about it, have you? No. I am not complaining about it now.


I am merely pointing to the fact—whether you are capable as yet of seeing it and knowing it or not—that I share the consequences. Unless you see that and know it, and recognize that if these things get out from under control in the world it is going to be our fault, yours and mine, you will never come to an adequate realization of our responsibility for what we can do about it if we will. That is the reason that I have been so urgently seeking to find a way of lifting you to a level of consciousness where you could see it if I spoke of it, because not too far in the past, if I tried to say something about it, it would not have meant anything, it would not have accomplished anything. We shall see whether it does now.



The point is that these cycles that were opened in various fields, the cycle that developed and came to a head in relationship to atomic power, that was shaped into atomic bombs and the H-bomb, etc—all of these things. They are the result of cycles opened on earth for which I am responsible. Whether anyone else on the face of the earth knows it or acknowledges it or not, I am. And for goodness' sake, don't go out and try to convince somebody else of that, because they will say, “Your leader is a crackpot.” And they will have a right to believe it, too, because they have no basis of understanding what I am talking about, none at all. I hope you have. I have worked for some time to do everything possible so that you would have.


But I am responsible for these cycles that have opened, the cycles that are working in the field of medicine, in the heart of the medical profession (they don't know it, and they don't need to know it; I wouldn't turn my hand over to try to convince them, but I have to know it, and I have to know what to do about it), cycles that are at work in the armed forces of our country, cycles that are at work in the realms of government—not just in the United States, by the way—cycles that are at work in every field of human endeavor that appears to the world to have any significance or importance. In every cycle of endeavor which the world thinks to be important I have a personal responsibility—with respect to cycles that were initiated and opened and set in motion concurrently with this development which you share here consciously. And the control factors essential to keeping those cycles moving correctly depends upon what I get done here. It cannot be controlled in a direct sense through those cycles themselves. No matter which one we might touch or examine or talk about tonight, that is the case.


I have mentioned specifically the realm of atomic power because that is perhaps the most spectacular one, and the one which is forcing the issue as far as we are concerned. It is. I have avoided talking very much about it because I did not want to produce fear in you. If you will look back, every time I have even made reference to the development of the atomic power situation in the world I have been very careful to leave it so that it would not produce any fear reaction in you. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2023/07/gods-atomic-bombthe-way-of-christ.html] And if I produce fear reactions in you by what I say tonight, well I will be injuring my own work and the fulfilling of my own responsibility.


So we have that which is getting ahead of us; it is getting out of hand. The control factors have not developed as rapidly as I had anticipated and they have not developed as rapidly as some of these other cycles have developed. Some of them are behind us in development and are not pushing us at all. A number of the cycles that have been working concurrently with this Program are behind us in development, not enough to make it a matter of concern; they are not pushing us any. But some of them are getting too much ahead of us, and this one is far enough ahead of us to cause us real concern—not worry, not fear, but concern, constructive concern.


Now if this idea were presented to the people of the world who have not had the basis of understanding which has been granted you, they would come to one conclusion: that I am suffering from an hallucination. I would be classified as being out of gear as much as if I were imagining myself to be Napoleon. And if we attempted to tell someone who did not have a basis of understanding, I would not blame them for thinking that, not in the least. And if you talk out of turn and start producing that attitude in others, they will sure enough think I am, and you will have hurt the Program rather than helping it.


Now I could conceivably have said, “I'm going to call a special meeting, and I'm going to be selective. I'll only let you and you and you come in, and you and you and you will have to stay out because maybe you wouldn't understand.” But I do not work it that way. How many times have I done that? Do you know of any? No. I have accepted all of you in relationship to this endeavor. To varying degrees you have become integrated in the program, some of you more or less on the fringe and some of you really in the heart of it, but all of you are a part of it. And we have reached a point where actually I did not have any choice left but to bring this to your attention—not to try to force you to do something, no, but to help establish in your consciousness a deeper realization of the real significance of that in which we are engaged.


Why do you suppose I have had the attitude I have had with respect to the outworking of all these factors in diplomatic circles and world controversies? If you look back and analyze it, you will see that I could not very well have had the attitude that I did have on any basis other than this, knowing that if we function correctly and establish the machinery, there would be a control factor beyond and above anything that the world has conceived of. I have not found fault with the United Nations program, the UN; I have worked to support it. But I have not acted as if my whole faith were pinned in it. There was something on above, something beyond possible that those people who were working so diligently there didn't know about. Do you suppose that the UN itself could be a cycle operating concurrently with what we are doing, and having a direct relationship with it? I leave you to draw your own conclusions. But if there is such a relationship, we would have to admit that it is another one of those cycles which is pushing us; it has developed beyond the point where we are in position to function adequately and effectively in relationship to it.



Now, from the standpoint of the fulfilment of the Divine Plan, it is expected that my part in it, or the relationship between this and that, will not be known for a long time to come. I am not interested in establishing any idea of relatedness. Actually, any effort to do so would hinder us, would spoil it, would make our Program more difficult, and might even defeat us; and if any of you really want to make trouble for me, there is a good way to do it. I am playing my cards on the table, trusting you.


Now these things are getting ahead of us, and with every move I have made heretofore to get you, here, and the others who are working with us, to a point of consciousness where you could understand what it is all about and have some idea of what we could do about it, you have defeated me—not consciously, not intentionally, but one way or another, by reaction or pulling this way or doing something, failing to let the cycle carry through. I am not saying that in condemnation or criticism or fault-finding, just simply as a fact, whether we like it or not. But the cycle has worked out now to the point where you have come near enough to it, through recent hours of meditation which we have shared, so that I had no choice but to tell you.


Now if you do not like such a big responsibility, if you do not like to be associated where this idea exists, or where the leader has such a fantastic idea, or where there is such a great responsibility, now is the time to pull out. If you don't want to share it, now is the time to pull out and sever connections with me, because as far as I am concerned that is what it is, and whether you are aware of it or have been or not, it is my responsibility, and if you are going to continue to share this ministry with me you are going to have to share that responsibility. So this is it! And we have got a job to do that we have not been doing properly and effectively! It is getting ahead of us and there isn't a sufficiently strong and effective control pattern [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2020/09/establishing-control-pattern.html] in operation, and if it goes out from under control it will be my fault.


If we take a good look at it you will see, I am sure, that any ideas that just this Program right here, immediately at hand, could somehow, all by its little self, accomplish what has to be accomplished in the world—well some of you have stumbled over that and you have asked me about it, and I have heard you talking and arguing about it, and I couldn't say a word. And some of you felt, “I just don't think it can be done! at least not in this generation, maybe generations from now.” People have said, “I think Uranda has undertaken something that can't be done. It's fantastic, it's too much to do, it's too big, it can't be done. Maybe someday, but not now”—from the standpoint of the idea that just what you see right here on Sunrise Ranch and at the Hundred, and in our various groups scattered around the country, would be able to do the whole thing, as if we had to do it all by ourselves. That would to my mind be fantastic, and did I ever tell you that that was the case? I don't think one of you can look back and say that I said that we were going to have to do it all by ourselves.


But I have suggested that there were other people in the world who would have a part and a share. Perhaps I didn't undertake to tell you just how. But these other cycles were opened and they have been working concurrently with this one, with the idea, as far as the Divine Design is concerned, that this one would develop rapidly enough to provide the essential spiritual control to keep the others in hand, without their knowing anything about it. They do not need to know anything about it. It is not at all essential to the accomplishment of our purpose that they should know anything about it, at least not for quite a long while. But if you look back, I did tell you, I think at least once, that every activity upon the face of the earth, every church, every school, every educational institution, every philosophy, the whole works, was in one way or another [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2018/04/universal-pattern-universal-priesthood.html]—insofar as its initial aspects were concerned, or the truth that was contained in it was concerned, or insofar as its value was concerned—it was all a part of the Program of the Third Sacred School. Did any of you ever hear me make a statement to that effect? Certainly you have. I don't think it went very deep in some minds, because it sounded a little bit, well, beyond comprehension, shall we say, to put it gently.


But these programs are moving concurrently. If we had to wait until we reached a point where we had all the control and could be assured that you and you and you would be in your place and all completely prepared, and then we would open up these other cycles, do you know that before we could get to the point of using them you would be dead? And it would have to be done all over again, and there wouldn't be any chance of doing what we set out to do.


The only hope of doing the job was to initiate the cycles concurrently. And there were qualified individuals in the realm of science, and all of its different phases, etc, to initiate and carry on these other cycles, and they were used for that purpose. Whether they knew anything about it or not is beside the point. But it was left to me to personally oversee the development of the Program which should reach the point where the vibrational or spiritual pattern of control should arise and in season be made manifest, so that it would be there when the time came when it was needed, so that these other cycles might be kept in a range of control and accomplish that which was needed.


Now whether I am going to be successful in that depends to a high degree on you. I am not in any sense admitting defeat; I am forced to admit that we are not as far along as we ought to be. And do you know whose fault it is? Mine. Mine. I can't point to any person or persons on the face of the earth, when I go before my KING, and say, “Well, you know, he or she didn't do so good. I guess that's the reason I didn't get the job done.” When I make my report it will be just one thing, if I don't get it done, just one thing: “I failed.” That's all.



Now this power that I have been talking to you about for so long, the spiritual power—the power of the Holy Spirit, or whatever else you want to call it—can manifest only on certain controlled conditions. The development of the counterpart of that power in the physical world has moved on apace and is ahead of us—atomic bombs, etc. I am not at all concerned about the atomic bombs if we reach the point where we exert the counterpart power correctly, but if we don't we will have helped to produce a Frankenstein Monster which will destroy us. And that will be it. I'm not afraid of any such consequence; I just hope that we can get the job done so that it doesn't happen. Because a lot of people would suffer. A lot of people that do not need to suffer would suffer. It isn't for myself that I am concerned; it is for you and a lot of others—millions of them.


It is this counterpart power, in a spiritual sense, that needs to manifest. I can't just keep on talking about it year after year. You in the Class have been hearing recordings of what I said last year and the year before, transcripts or something. I have not just suddenly started talking about it in the last thirty days, you know. You have the evidence that I have been working on the theme for quite a while, the theme of spiritual power that permits the actual doing of something on earth. Some of you perhaps had various ideas, perhaps some rather fantastic ones, almost as fantastic as the truth. “How would the power work when it got here?” I told you that God works through human beings and the natural channels, didn't I? And do you think you are the only human beings on earth? Not by a long shot. There are a lot of people out there, and they are doing something too—the scientists, all of the programs, the atomic power plants, the UN, and other cycles—they are a part of it. How is this power going to accomplish so much? By simply working through the human beings who are already in their respective fields in relationship to control.


Have I ever said anything to you about control that is important? Did I ever? Is there something out there that needs control? And how are they going to get it? Are you going to go out there with a club and say, “Now do it this way or else I'll hit you”? The only way that there will be any control that amounts to a snap of your finger is for it to manifest spiritually from the Secret Place. And did I ever say anything about the Secret Place, or Heavenly Magic, or any of these other things—hinted, suggested, anything else—have I?


You are not going to have to go out and do what Oppenheimer did, or someone else. They have done, or are doing, their job. It is wonderful. I have watched it with tremendous interest. Did you ever notice that, that I have an interest in all these things that are going on? Just casually, as a bystander? No, not at all. It is a part of my job. They are my people, whether they know it or not, just as much as you are. They don't have to know it; you do, because you were supposed to provide me with a means of having a control pattern that would keep them from hurting themselves and a lot of other people. What they did had to be done. Some people imagine that the world would be better off if the atomic bomb idea had never been developed. I don't agree. It is important. I am not going to tell you how or why, or just what part it is going to play. It is beside the point anyway. You can enter into a lot of speculation now and spoil it. Speculation will not get you anywhere. If you become fearful, that will not help. If you start trying and struggling, that will not help. And in human strength alone you can't do a thing in the world about it, and you know it.


Can we do something about it? Is it so fantastic? Am I just suffering from an hallucination, illusions of grandeur or something, got an idea that I am much more important than I really am? A lot of ideas could be expressed, and you know, I don't care too much. I don't want to stir up any trouble and make it any more difficult, but those ideas don't bother me too much. My concern is: Am I going to get my job done in time? If I don't, a lot of people will pay an awful price. It holds very little gain. It will not be all loss, but it could be a lot more tragic than it needs to be. There will be some tragedy at best. At best there will be tragedy; we cannot prevent it all. It is impossible, because there are too many things outside of the cycles, the primary cycles that are at work, and human beings are peculiar creatures and we have been pretty slow about getting that control pattern developed.


But you have heard me talk about principle and purpose and design and control, and it is working everywhere. And how is this control to come, the control factor in manifestation? I was commissioned to get that into operation. That was my personal project—control. Have I ever said anything about control, dominion, Kingdom at hand, or any of these related subjects? What was I talking about? Just words somehow? I was seeking to help you reach a point where you could intelligently work with me in the discharge of this responsibility, and if you don't want to share that responsibility, now is the time to get out. If you do, then I will expect something of you—not just a little but much, not self-centeredness but selfless service, to the end that this control pattern will take form and begin to have more meaning.


In spite of all of the uncertain factors, there has been a good deal of control exerted in the world, whether you know it or not. A good many things have worked fairly close to the point that they were supposed to. There has been quite a bit of control, but not enough, and some of the cycles are getting ahead of us; and if we fail and they get out of control, then I fail, and that will be that as far as this generation is concerned, as far as possibly a number of generations are concerned. Even if a few people survived on earth—and there might very well be a few here and there—it might easily take quite a while.


I have pointed out, if I remember correctly, that this is man's last chance, man as we know him, as we have his history for the past five or six thousand years. It would be somewhat different, but that would be speculation on your part if you tried to figure out what I mean. But it could easily take another five or six thousand years to reach a point where we would be this close to the Victory once more, and there could be a lot of suffering in the interval, and God would have to wait. And even if a thousand years is as one day to the LORD, who wants to keep Him waiting for even a week? I don't. It is not my intent.


I am not saying that this is what is going to happen; I am only pointing out that there will be a tragic result if we fail and if that control pattern is not made manifest, if we are there with too little too late. That has been one of the tragic things in the world in the past in many, many ways: too little too late. What will it be with us? What will it be with me? We shall see what we shall see.
