Unified Radiation — As Angels

The one who stands in this particular position has a part to play, and those who are present sitting in the seats have a part to play. We are here to achieve something not so much from the standpoint of our personal experience, as though we were seeking to attain some individual heights, but more because we forget the personal aspect of the matter and are concerned with what we are here to do together—as a whole in this class and as a whole in this overall body of ministry.
There is nothing properly merely personal. If there are those personal factors which arise in consciousness, or that have been carried around by a person which need rebuking, the rebuke is offered because those things don't belong in the whole, not merely because they don't belong in “me.” And one would not sustain anything in the whole which obviously does not belong there. So, when we offer rebuke we offer it on a much wider basis than the merely personal one. Personal attitudes with respect to anything in such case no longer have any weight. It only begins to achieve something when you see that what is present in you is a part of the whole, and that if you sustain it you are sustaining it for everybody else as well. And in particular you are sustaining it so as to provide a barrier insofar as the expression of the LORD is concerned, by reason of the whole. And if we truly love the LORD and are truly concerned with providing Him with an instrument capable of doing what He needs to do here on earth, then instantly the rebuke becomes effective.
In isolation we are weak. Weakness characterizes the individual all on his own. There may be an appearance of strength but the real strength comes because what is being undertaken is not merely being undertaken by the individual. There is the necessary strength in the whole to do whatever is needed to be done. When you begin to let everything be handled from the standpoint of the whole then we begin to serve, because there are things present individually that relate to what is present in the consciousness of mankind as a whole, and we have no desire to isolate ourselves from the consciousness of mankind as a whole. There is a need for the connection so that what happens in us as individuals may have an impact insofar as the mass consciousness is concerned. So, we no longer object to things that need to be dealt with, but we accept them into our creative field collectively.
Now we have a very specific focus of consciousness provided by all who are present. This enables us to handle many things. If we were to take each of you individually and examine your background and the quality of your earthly heredity and all the factors of influence that have been brought to bear in your existence on earth thus far, we would find a very wide spectrum, wouldn't we? I think it is quite wide enough to encompass all that needs to be encompassed insofar as our purpose together is concerned, because we are no doubt here together very specifically to achieve something definite. We need to come into position where there is a sufficient pattern of experienced agreement so that what is necessary can happen; and it happens on a very definite basis—the One Law. Everything works as it should when the One Law is allowed to find its proper application. We have a proper application here that includes all of us.
Response is something that is very essential, but usually response is thought of as being something separate from that to which the response is given—response on the one hand, radiation on the other. You must have radiation to have response; and so there are these two things. But the fact is that when there is response there is only one thing. We know the way that that has been described: radiation, response, attraction, union, unified radiation. If there is real response it is instantaneous; there isn't a long drawn out cycle—"Well now I'm being attracted. And I'm going to enjoy this period of time, lengthen it out perhaps some.” We allow the response to generate union and unified radiation instantly—together. In this particular situation at the moment I have the responsibility which centers in radiation and you have the responsibility which centers in response. But if we are to achieve anything it is because they are one and because you are sharing in radiation. You are sharing in that radiation to the extent of your response. Where there is real response there is no distinction between the radiation and the response—there is union, it is one thing. It is one thing to be shared in the creative expression essential in the moment.
Now this is something that keeps changing, but the basic way by which there is something achieved is always the same. There is great variety in the achievement but the way it is done is always the same—the working of the One Law. All of you have been to classes before, but we don't want to have a sort of class consciousness carried forward into this situation. There will be moments when you will be standing up here and you will be the point of radiation. There is really the focus of radiation and the focus of response involved here, and whether it is radiation or response it turns out to be unified—one thing. Angels are present to provide what is necessary in either aspect.
I think sometimes the idea has been that angels are always positive—they are always involved with radiation and somebody out there somewhere is going to respond. But the Law works within the angelic state; and we need to let it work there, so that there may be unified positive radiation for the achievement of what is necessary at this point of what we have referred to as the restoration. There is something to be done with respect to the mass consciousness, and it requires what we bring along related to that mass consciousness to connect us up. But still we function as angels. We function from the standpoint of angels who assume whatever role is necessary in the circumstance. Sometimes the role is positive radiation, sometimes it is negative response. But if either role is played correctly it is all found to provide unified radiation. It is all found to extend an impact into the mass consciousness of mankind.
All this requires that our human equipment—I'm speaking from the standpoint of an angel—that our human equipment function in a certain way. It hasn't been accustomed to functioning in this way in the general sense for human beings on earth, but presumably you have been learning to let it function increasingly in the way that it should. The very fact that you have offered yourselves here is an indication that something has been achieved along these lines, because you are responsible for providing what is necessary in this creative process which we are sharing. It a matter of what we are going to do now and what we are going to share in this ever-present moment. We are here to let something be done now. Whatever may be under consideration, let it be under consideration by angels.
Very often, when the angel is on hand and things are under consideration then something crops up that needs to be rebuked one way or another, and the rebuke is offered because we are all moving together as one. If we as an individual hang on to some particular thing that needs to be dissolved then we are hanging this weight around the neck of everybody else. We need to have concern for each other in this regard so that we don't impose anything on anyone, and so that we can move freely in this One Spirit. Yesterday I was mentioning something with respect to what might be called “new thinking.” I am sure that you have had some experience in this regard, where something unfolded in consciousness naturally as you moved along because the spirit was in action.
We are moving together in this creative process on a spiral, moving around an ascending spiral so that we find ourselves coming back over the same point again but at a different level. This will be happening as we move along, because we are not here to strike out in some amazingly new direction. What would be the point? Presumably we have an awareness of the fact that we have been moving as we should have been moving—up to a point at least. So we still move in the same ascending spiral, we still come back over the same points, but at a new level. That drawing power at times may seem like a dragging power, depending where you are looking at it from. If a person is being drawn by it then he is being drawn along with it. But if a person is providing the focus of this drawing power then human consciousness is somewhat sluggish. Consequently, when you are pulling something along there is a drag seemingly. So as we move up the spiral there may be a sense of drag in that way. A sense of drag to us, however, is a sense of being drawn to somebody who is being pulled along by our drag, so we don't object to some sensation of drag at times.
Very often people think they are only really achieving something when everything is so free in the rushing-along role, enjoying the thing so tremendously. Well, there are moments when that happens no doubt, but let us not look askance at the weight which sometimes seems to put in an appearance, because we have a job to do. If you have something to move you must exert a little strength to do it. And if the thing needs to be moved then you are delighted to exert that strength to move it. I mean it is nothing, no great deal. And if you can't move it alone you go and find someone else to help you. Or if you can't find someone else to help you, you get hold of a pry or something and move it that way. Angels are rightly ingenuous. And so there is nothing wrong with this sensation of weight at times, of a drag at times. So often people have objected to this. As angels we recognize that it is part of the creative process; it is part of the way by which we achieve what we are here to do.
We are delighted in the various aspects of experience which put in an appearance as we move along. They put in an appearance because we are moving along. And when they do, well, that's fine. We are moving along together in this creative spiral. So it may be that as we move we will find some recapitulation of various things that you thought you knew before, but seeing them at a new level you find that you really didn't experience them adequately before. I'm sure that you would wish that this time we have together should be used to the greatest possible advantage. In order to do what is required there is the necessity for a freedom of movement mentally speaking; otherwise the drag that we experience will be of our own making and it will drag us down.
The Cause—the Father—of what needs to be brought forth is in a higher realm. I have referred to that as undimensional. It is undimensional from the standpoint of the dimensional realm in which we live. It doesn't seem to be anything—nowhere; but we are interested in letting it be now here. There is something constantly in radiation from the Father. God never ceases to express. We have a fine symbol of that in the Sun of our solar system; there is constant radiation. This is not to say that there are not variations in the radiation, but there is constant radiation so there is something coming down from God out of heaven. This statement is made from the standpoint of the earth—it seems as though there is something coming down from God out of heaven into the earth. To put it a little more accurate way, there is something coming down from God, or out from God, into heaven and out from heaven into the earth. There is more than one step here, but looking up at the Sun you just notice the effulgence of the Sun and it seems like one thing. There is that which is the Sun and there is that which is the radiation of the Sun. They are one thing.
