Special Focus Of Significance

Special  Focus  Of  Significance

Martin Cecil  Grace Van Duzen  Lillian Cecil   September 16, 1981

During this month, September 16th to be exact, the forty-ninth birthday of this ministry occurs, completing the cycle of seven seven-year periods [91st birthday in 2023—a cycle of 13 seven-year periods; 92nd birthday in 2024]. I am sure we all have some sensing of a climactic point being reached, the point which declares whether this Emissary ministry is to be characterized by victory or failure. I never like to contemplate failure—my whole concern, and I trust yours also, centers in this matter of victory. Victory, however, is not something that occurs through wishful thinking, just because we might like it to be so. There must be the fact to back it up. These things will prove themselves out. It is well, however, that we should all have an awareness of what it is that needs to prove itself out. The question might be put, “Can we individually, and consequently together, be counted upon?” This does not only relate to those of you who are here gathered but to many others as well. [Martin Cecil 090681 greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/from-moment-martin-cecil-september-6.html]

It is good that we are all together on this rather special evening. We have chosen this particular day as a beginning point, in outer form, of this ministry forty-nine years ago. It might perhaps have been one of several days but this one is fitting.

It is not just a matter of celebrating a birthday but of participating in a creative cycle which rises to a special focus of significance at this time. Celebrating birthdays is not particularly important in and of itself but if a particular anniversary does relate in a specific way to the unfoldment of a true creative cycle, then we have opportunity to play a part in what it is that is in focus in the present moment. This has come out of the past, quite a lengthy past, so that we are here now, and there is movement into the future by reason of this creative spirit which has been moving throughout. So we are indeed thankful to the Lord that He has seen fit to receive us in this present assembly, that we might fulfil the purpose for which we are here now in this moment, and continue to move in that which unfolds in the days to come.

During this hour there will be those who play particular parts in the sense of providing special focus, but of course it is true that all who are here present are responsible for very special parts to be played, and I trust all are keenly conscious of this fact and this responsibility. In the first instance Grace will be offering something to you, and I would invite her to come to this particular position.

Grace Van Duzen — I would share some words with you tonight, by Uranda, written September 14, 1936. This would have been practically in the middle of the first seven-year cycle and here we are at the climactic point of the seventh of these cycles. As always, the word of the Lord is timeless, and these words are timeless. Particularly toward the close of the passages I’m reading you will recognize that they could have been said last Sunday, or the Sunday before, or the year before, or the cycle before. The word of the Lord is timeless.

I came upon these, and chose these, because of my recent sojourn in Egypt, and these are Uranda’s words with regard to those great symbols that were established in the earth—the sphinx and the pyramid—so long ago. We could be reminded that when these were established the earth was a different place; man was different. We find ourselves at this wonderful point, on the eve of what Martin has called the golden year, when the gold is refined in the fire. Very specifically we have a sober and joyous responsibility. So I would share these words.

I have shared pictures of these symbols with you. The miracle is that they are still in the earth. Regardless of what has happened to it, regardless of the fact that they are in the center of a vast desert—nothing grows—still they stand, symbols of the earth and of man. When they were established it was a beautiful place, a garden. I will read The Sphinx Speaks.

In the desert within thyself, I AM. From out the sands of time, I speak. My Voice hath been sounding from within thee always, but thou hast not heard because My Voice is the Voice of the Silence. To thee I have been the Sphinx. Thou hast sought to understand and thou hast failed. Thou hast listened for My Voice and it hath not been heard by thee, not because I did not speak, but because thou didst not know how to listen. I AM the God of the earth, and the Sphinx in the land of Egypt is a symbol of Me, prepared in the days when mankind knew Me as I AM. Turning within thine own earth, thou hast found thy land of Egypt, and it hath been dense darkness unto thee, and in the darkness of that desert place thou hast but dimly seen the outline of My Presence, and I have been unto thee a great mystery.

It hath not been my will that I should be a mystery unto thee, for I have revealed Myself to thee in all the experiences of thy life, and I have made known My Presence in all that thou hast seen during the period of thy manifest form upon the earth.

My mystery is now revealed in the earth because of the faithful ones who are turning to see the Voice that speaks with them, and they are beginning to know the One Who I AM, and having turned they find that I AM not afar off, neither am I difficult to understand.

In My symbol thou hast seen the face of a man lifted high above the desert sand, the face of a man set upon the body of a beast. The beast is the animal expression of man that hath been rampant in the world, the animal expression of man which hath thought itself to be greater than I AM, and the world hath forgotten even the face of the man that is on the beast. Having forgotten this which it could see, it likewise forgot Me Whom it could not see.

My symbol was established in its appointed place beside the symbol of the God of Heaven and earth, who is known to the people of the world as the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, that My symbol might be a key to His symbol and an entrance thereto, yet hath the world failed to understand His symbol or My symbol, for the two are One. Even as I AM the Lord, thy God within thee, the God of the earth, even so am I the Way whereby thou mayest enter into the ALL and become aware of the God of Heaven and earth, the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings. His symbol hath the world known as the Great Pyramid, and His Place, even the Secret Place, hath the world known as the King’s Chamber, and He hath revealed Himself to the world through the ages as the invisible Capstone of His symbol. Even so, I have revealed Myself to the world through the ages as the Soundless Voice of the Silence, which the world hath not heard nor understood. As the world hath failed to hear My Voice directing it in the Way, so also hath the world failed to see His Presence as the Capstone of His symbol in the earth.

Oh man, look at thyself and thou shalt see the stone symbol which the world calls the Sphinx. As the face of the stone Sphinx is broken, so also is the face of man, for it can hardly be seen that man hath the face of man, for man hath contented himself to be the beast.

Behold, every man who shall harken to these, My Words, and who shall become the living Sphinx, shall know what it means to stand with the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings in the earth made new, where Heaven and earth are One, under His direction and filled with the Flaming Fire of His Love.

Beloved of the Lord, Reality is ever coming forth, and its coming cannot be stayed nor its manifestation changed.

Look out upon the earth, Beloved, and thou shalt see that it is a melting-furnace wherein the Fire of My Love brings all to that white heat of transformation. The gold of Being, responding to My hand, comes forth pure, and ready for the shaping of a higher realm.

Now it is ordained that all self-consciousness shall be removed from the realms of the dross, that consciousness may be only in the realms of Reality; and so it is that the Flaming Fire of My creative Force shall work its Will in Peace and all Tranquility, changing the dross to purest gold until the whole world shall shine forth as a Sun of glorious Light in the Universe where it is ordained to be.

Lillian Cecil placed a picture of Uranda on the altar, then stood at the lectern

Lillian Cecil — I too would share a few moments with you in this very special hour. It is, of course, a man-made picture of a man who walked on earth; and yet we all know, very particularly, of that spirit, that glorious, beautiful spirit that filled this form on earth. And I think my own contribution tonight would simply be to speak briefly of Uranda.

He was the opening door, the focus of the awakening, at this very special moment in eternity, forty-nine years ago. And I am deeply thankful—and I know everyone is—that he let this happen in his consciousness. Grace spoke of those symbols in the earth today that represent the Lord. And they still stand, after how many centuries? I wonder how good a symbol we each are of the Lord on earth. Surely Uranda brought to focus this living, vibrant symbol.

Some of us met him within the framework of the first seven years; others have met him in the later seven years. But it doesn’t really matter, as long as we all know the spirit, the utter, beautiful spirit of this precious Being who walked the earth. I suppose the world, if they really actually knew about him, would say, “Well he was just another human being.” But we all know differently. I met him at very tender years and I didn’t have to be told that he was special. The joy of meeting a person who is vibrantly full, who is vibrantly shining, radiating with the spirit of God on earth, is priceless: and here was this beautiful man.

How thrilled Uranda would have been to hear this gorgeous organ sound in this beautiful building. And yet he was never daunted by the fact that the forms around him were quite less than we know: a little, old pump organ, in a small building which we now call the Ranch House. But it was the same, wasn’t it? It was joyous because the symbol of God was on earth and there were those who were awakening to that fact. And as we have all awakened, and share this in our hearts, and as we produce it—the living example in our living—his life was not in vain. Indeed it was the most glorious thing for thousands of years!

Maybe my words are simply, this evening, Martin, to offer our collective tribute to the truthful, the special, life which Uranda portrayed. Some of us heard him speak many times, in person. He could be very serious, he could be witty, he could drive the point home so that you squirmed, but you were glad to wake up and see the truth of being, available. He spent many happy hours on earth and perhaps a few sad ones too, but he lived life to its fullest. And I know in my own living, that has been a right example to follow. And we remember the Master’s words, “Follow me”—and in everything Uranda did and said he issued that word also, to all peoples on earth, “Follow me.”

So I am thankful to have these few moments in the Lord’s house to express my heart thanksgiving that he walked the earth, that Uranda was indeed in form with us and that his spirit continues, as it ever shall.

Martin Cecil — The way of salvation, of restoration, has been established on earth ever since the original failure on the part of man. The way of restoration is the same now as it was anywhere back along the way. The worldly circumstances may have changed but the way by which the restoration occurs is the same as it ever was—exactly the same thing is required now as was at the point of the original failure. That requirement has been outlined in many ways over the ages.

Recently I have been speaking of failure, because unless the fact of failure is seen for what it is and is honestly acknowledged—not merely in a general sort of way but specifically by each individual—the way of restoration is prevented from being experienced. “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” The true state is as available in this moment as it was twenty thousand years ago and all through the centuries in between. If it has not come on earth it is indication of the continuing failure, which includes the failure to repent. So I emphasize this matter of repentance because it is crucial at this particular time.

Human beings suffer their ups and downs. This all relates to the emotional realm, doesn’t it? Sometimes a person feels up; if he does then he presumably says of himself he feels good. Other times he feels down; then he feels rotten. The question always is as to whether, because of what is so experienced, one is going to prove to be unstable, undependable. Dependability has nothing to do with these ups and downs. It only seems to have something to do with them when emotions are the god. Repent. Acknowledge the fact of failure—those elements which are very specific. If there has been a failure of some kind, acknowledge it without excuse, without attempting to explain it away, to yourself particularly. Acknowledge it as failure, without excuse; and there is no possible explanation which would cause it to cease being failure, one’s own personal failure.

I spoke recently about a certain toughness. Here is an indication of it: if you do not feel that you have to explain anything, because there is nothing to explain. If there was failure, that was failure for which one was personally responsible. The human mind is a little crafty, isn’t it? “Yes know I was responsible, but...” No buts! If there has been failure, one is personally responsible for it in one’s own circumstance, and there is no excuse, and no valid explanation. So why look for one? One must come to a point of absoluteness in this regard, so that there is an acknowledgment of failure when there has been failure, without any equivocation. That begins to be repentance; and it opens the door for what emerges out of the state in which that failure was the experience. Something is to emerge out of that, because the spirit of God is still moving. And as there is a direct participation in what does creatively emerge, that is forgiveness.

Most people are looking for forgiveness to come from somewhere: “Oh will you forgive me? Oh Lord, will you forgive me?” Well of course. He offers the opportunity to participate in the creative cycle and that is forgiveness when you do it. But nobody can do it, in fact, without first repenting, so that there may be a releasing of what gave evidence of failure relative to the creative cycle as it was moving before. Unless that is done, so there is an absolute cutoff—what is now moving cannot be shared and therefore there cannot be forgiveness. That is forgiveness. That movement in the creative cycle as it now emerges is the experience of forgiveness. It isn’t something that the Lord is going to plaster on people! It is what comes forth through oneself. One is for giving expression to the creative cycle, according to one’s own particular responsibility in the matter.

Now here is a central core element which has been offered lo these many, many years but which has been turned aside so much by continuing human emotions and the figuring of the mind. It can find excuses; it can find reasons as to why it’s impossible to do what is really quite natural.

The way of restoration has been made available countless times but we have very specific record in particular places: in the Bible, for instance. We have the story of that day of Pentecost long ago, when the disciples were all gathered in the upper room. They were all with one accord in one place, it says. They didn’t stay that way long, but sufficient to allow the way of restoration to begin to emerge. We are aware that there was failure; that was spoiled. We are also aware of what happened before that at the time of the children of Israel. There is one very clear-cut description of the way of restoration; you know it because we have considered it many times. It relates to that story of Elijah’s contest with the prophets of Baal. Let me read this, part of it at least.

The prophets of Baal had been given their innings, which they enthusiastically accepted and really went to it, anticipating that the answer would come that way—just as human beings in the world have done and are doing now in this day, and the answer doesn’t come. There are more people awakening, it seems, in these days to the fact that the answer isn’t found along those lines; but there are still vast numbers in the population of the world who imagine that the answer is going to come that way—they can’t see the possibility of any other way.

Elijah

“And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.” What a very pathetic situation. It is the exact situation of the world now. “And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me.” Here was the prophet of the Lord, the representative of the Lord, opening the door to the way of restoration, provided that those concerned would repent and leave behind, cut off, the state in which they had previously been involved, acknowledging failure.

“And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him.” I am thankful to see all of you who are quite closely together in the physical sense. You’re not scattered all over the Chapel. The invitation was offered to come near unto me, and presumably you heard it and did so. Of course it isn’t a matter just of coming physically near—although this may be a symbol of something—but coming near with open hearts, open repentant hearts, that there may be participation in the experience of forgiveness.

“And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.” This seven periods of seven years, which brings us to this day, has been a time when the altar of the Lord was in the process of being repaired. Seemingly it has been rather a slow process. It depends on what time frame one might put it in. If we’re thinking of thousands of years then I suppose it’s been quite rapid. If we think of it in our rather limited life spans then it has taken quite a while.

“And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:“And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord.” Here is indication of representation from all the tribes of the earth. I think that has happened, pretty well, insofar as our own experience of rebuilding is concerned. We have, within the range of our awareness, people from virtually every land.

“And he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.” There has been a hedge about this development, what has been taking place by reason of this ministry and those who have been associated with it. There has been a hedge of protection, which also is the facility by which something may be achieved. The hedge of radiance does provide protection but it also provides the means by which seeds are planted; something is brought forth in this way. “And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces.” That has something to do with our physical, emotional, mental facilities being put in order.

“He put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.” Well, you know that something of the sort has been going on over the years. The water of truth has been freely offered. “And he said, do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.” Twelve barrels—quite a soaking of body, mind and heart. “And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.” All was permeated by the truth. At that point the truth was somewhat dormant, just wet, sitting there—which has at times been the condition experienced by those who have been associated with this ministry. They’re sitting there like wet rags.

“And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice.” This was occurring at the same time as the other situation with the prophets of Baal. The cycle is drawing to a close, to allow whatever is to come next to emerge. “And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in this body (Israel), and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

“Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.” Here is a very different state of affairs to the state of a wet rag. What of your hearts? Are they really turned back again? The very moment that this is so the fire of God does fall from heaven. We may see and know this in this moment. We also see and know and understand it as relating to this particular aspect of the creative cycle that opens before us: the fire of God falling from heaven, pouring forth to consume the lives of those whose hearts are turned back again, so that they cannot help but allow the glory of the Lord to be revealed on earth in the oneness of His body.

“And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.” Is that really what is being said by all those present in this Chapel this evening—“The Lord, He is the God”? Are there in fact no other gods before Him? The Lord, He is the God in fact, whether anyone acknowledges it or not. But only with that acknowledgment, because there has been repentance and participation in the creative cycles of forgiveness, does this truth have creative effect in the world.

This evening we share an hour when these things may be brought to focus in our consciousness, that as individuals we may acknowledge the fact of failure, obviously so heretofore, and repent. No excuses whatsoever offered for anything that has happened in which we have been involved in times past; no explanations needed, but simply a willingness to repent, to let it be cut off, that there may be full and free and wholesome participation in what is now emerging. We see this casting its shadows before—so that what is of this creative cycle now emerging may be allowed to take form because there are those present to let it be so. The Lord, He is the God; the Lord, He is the God. What say you?

The congregation answered, “The Lord, He is the God.” Upon a further listening stance from Martin, it was repeated, “The Lord, He is the God.”

That’s better! There is a tendency, isn’t there, to do things partially because we have lived in a partial world. I rejoice in this hour very greatly, to the extent that in speaking those words you in fact told the truth. That will reveal itself, won’t it? Woe unto those who do not speak the truth. “Rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them,” for the truth is revealed and made manifest because you live.

Moment Of Truth

Moment  Of  Truth

excerpts

Martin Cecil   September 6, 1981  am & pm

During this month, September 16 to be exact, the forty-ninth birthday of this ministry occurs, completing the cycle of seven seven-year periods [91nd birthday in 2023thirteen seven-year periods; 92nd birthday September 2024]. I am sure we all have some sensing of a climactic point being reached, the point which declares whether this Emissary ministry is to be characterized by victory or failure. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/the-secret-of-resurrection.html] I never like to contemplate failure—my whole concern, and I trust yours also, centers in this matter of victory. Victory, however, is not something that occurs through wishful thinking, just because we might like it to be so. There must be the fact to back it up. These things will prove themselves out. It is well, however, that we should all have an awareness of what it is that needs to prove itself out. The question might be put, “Can we individually, and consequently together, be counted upon?” This does not only relate to those of you who are here gathered this morning but to many others as well.

Obviously there is great joy in victory; by the same token there is deep sadness in failure. There have been many failures over the millennia of human history. One may be keenly aware of this in recalling the occasion when the Master wept: “Jesus wept.” These might be called the saddest words in the Bible. When there is one present who has a vision of what it is that is really happening, and what it is that could happen of victory or failure, then when those who are present act in a way that brings failure, what deep sadness there must necessarily be!

I do not wish this morning to dwell upon the matter of failure because presumably, with all of us, no such thing will be allowed to occur. However let us not delude ourselves into imagining that this does not require something very specific of us, each one. We have had varying lengths of time, some of us many, many years, of participation in the unfolding creative cycle by which victory might be assured. This month it could be said that we come to the moment of truth. It is not my intention to lay a heavy burden upon anyone, but it is well that we should face the facts—it could not be a moment of victory if we were to delude ourselves. So we come to this time prepared, to the extent that we are prepared. We might look back and see a certain amount of time wasted, but also there was time rightly used. The creative cycle has continued to unfold in our own experience and in the experience of human beings on the face of the earth everywhere. There is really no separation between us in this matter, except that we have the greater responsibility because we have some conscious awareness of what it is. Most people don’t know. We do, and so this matter of victory is in our hands.

When the Master wept this simply indicated that what might have occurred at that time couldn’t be what it was intended to be. If it had been, it might have obviated the necessity for His own subsequent experience of mistrial and crucifixion. There was failure before, but victory from His standpoint later, however a very lonely one. It did open the door and initiate the cycle in which we now participate. We come again to the moment of truth. We have an awareness of what makes the victory possible, and indeed certain, if we associate ourselves with it. This is certainly something that cannot be achieved by human effort or so-called human wisdom. It occurs in the power of the Spirit of the Living God. It occurs on earth for the children of men when there are those present who embody that spirit in action. We do it factually and not merely in fancy.

We have become aware over the years of the essential factors which must be present if the truth is to prevail in our experience and in the experience of the world. We became aware of these things probably quite some time ago—some even twenty, thirty, forty years ago. To become aware is not enough. Continually we have had the opportunity of proving these things out in fact. One recognition we have had—it has been mentioned in times past quite often but seldom really understood—is that in the first failure of mankind which occurred through two people and then multiplied, the lead in that failure was taken by a female. It has been mentioned therefore that the woman, or women, must lead the way in the restoration. Some might have thought that this promoted women’s lib. It doesn’t. It doesn’t promote anything in the human world of things, because victory is not there. It does indicate that the restoration cannot occur without women playing their primary part. The finger is being placed upon women—the finger of the Lord.

We may recognize that human emotions have, from the point of the original failure, wreaked havoc in God’s world, so that it is no longer recognizable as being God's world, at least not in human consciousness. Emotions are not the sole responsibility of women. Men have certainly been subject to their own emotions as well, and consequently to women, both in an internal personal sense and to the emotions of women. This emotional control, as has been prevalent in the world, is pictured as a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast. This picture is painted in greater details—not a very pretty one. Yet it is the factual state, and here is the basis for failure. The impure hearts have been filled with emotions of various sorts, some of them looked upon as being good, others obviously bad; but whether good or bad the world has been governed by human emotions, supported by the human intellect which devises reasons for supporting these emotions, ever since the first failure on the part of a womanand a man who followed her emotions because of his emotions. Here was a poor lady, weak and helpless, subject to her own emotions and needing the gallant help of a strong man! This was not what was proven out. The man was weak and the woman took the strong position and has tried to maintain it ever since. Oh there might be a great deal of argument to the contrary, looking at the history of mankind. I am emphasizing the matter of the female leading the way.

There is a matter here, prominent in human consciousness these days, summarized by the words equal rights. Men and women are not equal. Men don’t equal women, women don’t equal men, do they? What is this matter of equality then? There is a truth to the word equality but it certainly doesn’t lie in the endeavors of human beings to better each other. Men and women are not equal. There is quite a distinction here and it is right that there should be. There is the matter of complementation involved, because the true state is oneness. There cannot be a state of oneness without the parts being present. If anything is left out, then there is no state of oneness.

In this initial matter, relating to MAN and to God, there are two aspects, designated as male and female. The male isn’t the female, the female isn’t the male. But let them be put together on the right basis and there is the truth of oneness. The right basis is already established in God. Human beings can’t make it; they can't make it by equal rights amendments, for instance. It already is so but thus far everybody has rejected it because they want to have it their own way. Who is willing to let it be the way it actually is? Any endeavor that ignores that is futile because it already is, and if we ignore it we find ourselves in troubles of various sorts, and then try frantically to do something about the troubles. But there is nothing that human beings can do about the troubles in that way. The answer is really very simple: accept the truth—not only accept it theoretically but factually.

These matters concern us, who would be inclined to claim that we understand, that we know. Here is the nub of the situation, relating to emotions, both female emotions and male emotions, the emotions of impure hearts, the emotions present in human beings everywhere on the face of the earth in this present world. Let us not judge between this one or that one. The state is, in this sense, universal. No one has been excused. No one was born into the world without inheriting the emotional package. Some inherit this part of the total package and some that part of the total package. The truth already is. We either accept it or reject it. If we reject it we suffer and die; that’s all there is to it. Presumably we have begun to see the stupidity of such a state and therefore exhibited some willingness to let it be changed, because the opportunity of change has always been here. The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand—always. The simple way has always been present and available for those who finally were honest enough to admit it. Presumably a certain measure of honesty has come into our experience. We are going to find out how much! It all hangs upon this matter of human emotions, the dominance of the impure heart. Let the heart be purified, because there is an awareness of the truth, a willingness to let the creative action of the Spirit of the Living God assume the dominant control.

There is a passage which we have looked at in times past, contained in the Book of Job, that speaks of these things. This is the oldest book in the Bible, so the availability of the truth has been present with human beings as far back as anyone can go. It has consistently been ignored down through the ages. It cannot be ignored anymore. The moment of truth comes, and so again we share an awareness of the way things actually are. The female is required to be adequately in place if the restoration is to occur. She led the way down; she leads the way up, not in the absence of the male however. He certainly had a part in the fall too. Let no males delude themselves on this point. They have permitted the fallen state to be maintained ever since. But this does not deny the fact that women must accept their own responsibility in the design, and that responsibility is not necessarily the one that, in the human sense, they would like. There has been this sense of guilt and shame present, unconsciously for the most part—of failure, but it seems safer to try to maintain their position of failure than to relinquish it. Now emotions are not alone present in women. They are in men also, and it is because they are present in men that men participated in the fallen state, introduced by women. They thought they were going to get something out of it too. And they have! Everybody has, but not exactly what was expected or desired, certainly.

These verses are contained in the Book of Job: “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades?” Can human emotions be brought into the proper design of control? Unless they can there is no hope—failure is absolutely certain. By the same token it is in this field that victory is absolutely certain too. “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades?” Can human emotions be brought into line in both female and male? The second part of this same verse is also included in what happens. “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?” We can see this in terms of female and male. Because the sweet influences of Pleiades have not been bound in women the bands of Orion have not been loosed in men. Men have been bound hand and foot in the world as we now know it. Oh no doubt many males—we can hardly call them men—have sought to achieve great things. There have been human giants who have been striding across the pages of history. They thought they were really going to accomplish something, build great empires, which all disintegrated and came to naught. Oh what futility! Because it seems, from the human standpoint, to take some time for these things to happen there is the illusion that really there is a rising up to achieve something great. But then somewhere along the way we find ourselves on the skids, right now for instance, because it’s all a futile waste of time.

But the truth is true and all is well, unconquerable life prevails. Here is the victory that is offered to those who will accept it, who will allow emotions to be brought under the dominion of the Spirit of God. Human beings are equipped with emotions; there’s nothing wrong with that; they have the capacity to emote. There have been very few human beings on the face of the earth, down through history, who have dared to approach the possibility of being MAN instead of this wretched, miserable, dying creature who bears little if any resemblance to MAN. So I bring it to point, with respect to this matter of emotions. Doubtless we find that there is more to the picture than is seen solely on the basis of a consideration of emotions, but here is a central element. And unless we undertake to face this fact nothing else that we might consider would make any difference. “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?” Here is the key to victory or failure.

In the words a sea of glass clear as crystal” is the summary of all that women are. A sea of glass clear as crystal! In the female experience, both individually and collectively, this has never been known as far as present human memory goes back. The atmosphere between women has been fraught with crosscurrents of all kinds because these same things were present in the individual women concerned, so there has been no sea of glass clear as crystal upon which a man might stand to fulfil his responsibilities. I thank God that there are women who have reached the point of acknowledging the truth—the last thing that most women are willing to do. The idea is to blame somebody else. Men are responsible for themselves; but women are responsible for themselves, and each woman is responsible for herself, nobody else! I bring it to point with respect to the female because this is the first order of business. Nothing else can happen without the truth honestly being faced by women. And when I say women, that means a woman: whichever one hears my Word. When that is done the sweet influences of Pleiades can be bound in the design of the truth; then there is indeed a sea of glass clear as crystal.

A  Sea  Of Glass  Clear  As  Crystal

The experience must be known of the sea of glass clear as crystal within the heart of each one. The emotional realm has been a stormy sea, filled with violent tides and crosscurrents, with waves of murky water. The whole human race has been suffering from seasickness. All manner of sickness and disease may be seen as springing out of this seasickness—the emotional state of mankind. There is no way of stopping it by trying to treat the sickness. Let there be a sea of glass clear as crystal, and there is no more reason for sickness.

Something came to point after our comment period at my house which I would like to introduce to you and expand upon. It relates very much to all that has been happening over the ages and what is now coming to a time of climax and fulfilment. I mentioned that Job was the oldest book in the Bible. There is a story here which carries considerable significance. There is also the story of the failure of human beings recorded at the beginning of the Book of Genesis. That story, and the story at the beginning of the Book of Job, are a portrayal of two aspects of the same thing. We usually hear about Adam and Eve because that failure has been emphasized, chiefly through the subconscious sense of shame and guilt. So the failure is apparent by reason of Adam and Eve. While initially it may have involved just two people, it shortly involved considerably more, until now the whole human race is in this state of failure. Something different, however, is portrayed with respect to Job. Job represents those who kept their integrity.

On the one hand there were those who kept their integrity, and on the other there were those who lost it. Because there were those who kept their integrity the possibility of restoration has remained a very real potential. In fact this restoration has been anticipated. This is portrayed in the Book of Job. There were thirty-eight chapters of mess, and then the fulfilment camebecause Job had kept his integrity. He was asked by his wife to curse God and die, but he didn’t follow this female suggestion to lose his integrity. He was badly afflicted. There seemed to be every valid reason for him to curse God and die, but he would not do that. There have been those down through the ages, who were represented in this story by Job, individuals who kept their integrity in spite of everything. We have various outstanding examples of this, coming to a point of culmination in the One called Jesus. He would not curse God and die, so He lived. Simple! Adam lost his integrity. Job retained his. Because that integrity was retained, there has been a continuity of integrity present among the children of men ever since, as well as a very broad continuity of the loss of integrity. So we come to this present time when the sea of glass clear as crystal has begun to re-emerge so that God might speak out of the whirlwind and claim attention. This thread of continuity, maintained, has been so slight that most of the time it went unnoticed—but it was there, just as it was in Job, so that the time might come when there was sufficient substance present for the radiation of the Spirit of God to become known in a direct, conscious sense. Something is called to remembrance on this basis, by the Spirit of Truth. We and others have shared that remembrance to a certain extent, either by hearsay, which is one thing, or by actual personal experience, which is another.

When Job finally came back into position to receive what the LORD was offering, it turned out to be considerably more than it was at the time when the human failure first put in an appearance. This is an interesting thing to note. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/melchizedek-increase-grace-van-duzen.html] There are those who have thought of it in terms of God being particularly pleased with Job because he kept his integrity, and so He was going to reward him accordingly. That is a human nature portrayal. It doesn't happen that way.

An apt analogy of what occurred would be seen in an orchestra who were originally being conducted according to the score that was present, and bringing forth a beautiful symphony. But then the human failure occurred and one by one the orchestra members dropped to sleep, so gradually there was nothing left but the conductor. All the orchestra members were asleep, but the score was there; the conductor went on. From time to time perhaps an orchestra member would stir in his slumber, wake up a little, look at the score, trumpet out a few notes and go to sleep again. This wasn’t a very satisfactory symphony, certainly, and would give a peculiar impression. And those who heard the sound in their sleep would probably be quite critical of it, not realizing that it was that way because they were asleep. Finally the time comes when the responsible members of the orchestra begin to awaken, pick up their instruments and play. But obviously, in the intervening years—millennia in fact—there has been continued movement, even though nobody was aware of it. But becoming aware of it and awakening, the orchestra members find that the score is what it is now, not what it was then.

Very often people are inclined to try to look back to what the true state was. They’re not very successful in finding anything that has much meaning. That was played long ago. It has moved on since then, and something else is to be played. There has been an increase, an expansion, a movement, occurring in all this blank space when human beings have been asleep. So when the awakening comes they pick up their instruments and play the score as it now is. And that is something else. There is consequently an increase. From the standpoint of this score it isn’t a repetition, over and over throughout eternity. No—something new, fresh, building upon what went before. As the awakening comes, there we are. As is portrayed in Job, he had twice as much as he had before. This is rightly what is now occurring.

As various orchestra members do awaken and play their instruments there is rather an imbalanced sound, because the whole orchestra isn't awake yet. So what’s the answer to that one? Shall we all go to sleep until everybody wakes up? Do you think everybody would ever wake up on that basis? Maybe they will wake up because of the apparently discordant sound. Looking at it this way we can see the absolute futility of judgment. There is simply the individual matter of awakening. As individuals we can only awaken for ourselves. So we awaken and, in awakening, we begin to become aware of the score and of the conductor.

This morning we shared the words, “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?” This question is posed to each one of us, and is seen in terms of disturbed human emotion, the way it now is. Can human emotion be brought under control and into the true design for right use? There is nothing wrong with the capacity for emotion. There is only something wrong when it is wrongly used, which it has been. Now we become aware of right use, under the dominion of the Spirit of God, which is accepted as the basis for the quality of our momentary living. When that quality begins to come out in our expression the sweet influences of Pleiades are bound, and they are found to be sweet. They are pretty sour when they’re running rampant—very bitter. We saw this relative to the female aspect of being, so that the male aspect might be released into the creative expression of what we have called the Son, the conscious, directing element in MAN restored. This then includes the unconscious aspect—the intuitive aspect, particularly represented by women. There are these two aspects in both male and female, but rightly the unconscious aspect is represented by women and the conscious aspect by men. Here we have the Son and the Holy Ghost in complementation.

On this basis there may be the acceptance of right responsibility on earth, portrayed in these words: “Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?” What are we here to bring forth? “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Mazzaroth is a word which portrays the true experience of life in MAN, male and female. This is to be brought forth, that it may be available not only within the body of mankind but beyond mankind to all the kingdoms of this world—that finally there may be some glory to them.

Life is moving throughout the whole universe. It is moving in our galaxy and in our solar system, in the earth. Life is certainly not restricted to what is present on the surface of this planet. It is all-inclusive. Therefore if there is a bringing forth of life in our individual and collective field of responsibility there is association with life as it is brought forth everywhere. We can see various connections in this regard relative to the bringing forth of life in our environment close at hand and vastly further afield. There is life moving at every level, through everything, and if life is being brought forth through us what is being brought forth through us meshes with everything; and there is a wholeness which moves all together to perfection. There begins to be awareness of what is necessary relative to that wholeness within the range of our own particular fields of responsibility. But this awareness is absolutely impossible until life is factually being brought forth. We know what we express.

“Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?” It is interesting that this goes quite far afield apparently, at least if we see it in relationship to the great sun Arcturus. Well how are we going to do anything about that? We don’t need to do anything about it; but Arcturus and his sons certainly have a relationship to what’s going on here. All life meshes together. So whatever it is that comes to focus relative to Arcturus and his sons in our own experience is rightly guided into the creative field which is our individual and collective responsibility. It is impossible to do anything rightly on the face of the earth without having what is done mesh with everything that is being done rightly everywhere else. Some of that which is happening elsewhere indeed has a particular relatedness to what is happening right here, and we no longer think of the universe around us as being millions of light-years away from us, because it is right here where we are. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/trailing-clouds-of-glory.html] That right-hereness relates to spirit, not merely to the form of things. It may seem, form-wise, according to human views at the present time and their massive calculations, that some celestial objects are millions of light-years away. Well this is a concept of the human mind; it likely has little relationship to the fact of the matter. In any case if we find ourselves expressing spirit, that’s what we know. And we do not judge by the appearance. We judge righteous judgment, which is the truth that is known when the truth is expressed. So there is much that comes within the range of the experience of man that has long been excluded by reason of human failure.

And finally, “Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?” This clearly has something to do with the reason for MAN’s existence. He was created in the image of God, male and female, to have dominion. The dominion was the dominion of God, and man allowed that dominion to be brought to a particular focus for particular uses in the creative cycles. It emerged out of the ordinances of heaven, that which is ordained from that standpoint. Do you know what is ordained? The only way we can know it is to bring it forth, and then we begin to know. How are we going to bring it forth? Could the right influence just relate to our immediate circumstance right here? Where else can it start? We can only reach something that is larger through the small thing that is right next to us. It is futile to try to jump over that.

So there are things ordained relative to the immediate requirement nowthings ordained for us to share now. Certainly, from my standpoint, I have to be aware of something of this in order to bring it forth. As I bring it forth I know what it is—do you? You share it. Of course it has to filter through your consciousness a bit too, so it may get diverted there a little. But, increasingly, we begin to agree, because what is being brought forth is being brought forth as one thing for which each individual has an aspect of responsibility. It can’t possibly be all brought forth by one person. If that was possible then there would be no need for anybody else, would there? But there is a need for all of us. That’s nice to think about. Each individual has something to bring forth of Mazzaroth, and something to guide; and the guidance can be given because of what is being brought forth through the whole, not separate from thatsomething being brought forth even in Arcturus that relates to what we bring forth here.

Here is a general view of something, which needs to be made very specific by each individual. We begin to know the ordinances of heaven, and can set the dominion thereof in the earth. All this depends upon a sea of glass clear as crystal. It isn’t all that clear yet, is it? There is vastly more to be seen and understood. But it requires a sea of glass clear as crystal to let it happen. Human emotionswe have the responsibility to let them be clear. Then the design of creative expression emerges in very specific ways, which we begin to discover individually.

We arrive at the moment of truth. Every moment is a moment of truth to one who is the truth. It can show up now. To the extent that our experience of living is the truth, then each moment is a moment of truth. Each moment we know the truth to the extent necessary to assume right responsibility for that moment. And nobody can do it for anybody else. Nobody can do it for you but you.

I rejoice that we have come to this time when we may speak of these things, as I did this morning for instance, quite forcefully. And there were a sufficient number of people willing to sit there and take it. I trust it was taken rather than deflected. One can deflect the truth by taking the attitude that it doesn’t really apply to me. Let us share an attitude of honesty which allows us to be where we belong, in the sea of glass clear as crystal, so that the creative process may continue as it should, under the dominion of the Spirit of God, because there are those who are willing to allow it to work that way. I trust that we may all be included in that number, for this is indeed the moment of truth.
