True Priesthood and Climax Times

 True Priesthood  and  Climax Times

September 15, 2024   Temple of Light Service

Yujin Pak — What a privilege and honor it is to gather together in holiness, as in this hour, with such passionate, dedicated servants of the LORD. It is wonderful to be with you friends on this special occasion, the 92 Anniversary of the birth of the Emissaries of Divine Light, the Third Sacred School. Here in Korea it's the morning of September 16th; in America the evening of the 15th. It so happens, by the way, that tomorrow here is the Korean Thanksgiving Day. I give thanks especially for each and all of you. I know how much living, service and dedication has gone into your lives.

As I reflect upon entering this time together I think about the titles and meaning of the three services of Martin most recently posted in the Great Cosmic Story: “The Priesthood After The Order Of Melchizedek”, “Trembling to Obey”, and “Moment of Truth”. The titles themselves say so much. In these titles are perhaps contained some of the deepest truth of the Third Sacred School. Uranda and Martin spoke of the Priesthood After The Order Of Melchizedek as a transcendent governmental and leadership Order, constant on earth from the beginning of creation of man, that has guided humanity through all of its history, through its good times—presumably there were some extraordinary times—and through its bad times, and we have seen both in our lifetimes; and in reviewing the history of man, some really bad times. And also, climax times.

Just a word about the Priesthood After The Order Of Melchizedek, for which we all have some appreciation. In essence the Priesthood of Melchizedek is the invisible inner identity of Emissaries of Divine Light and the positive activating core of the Third Sacred School. It's another name for who we are. Clearly, it's not fully manifested on earth today. But the bringing forth of a manifestation of that True Priesthood, you could say, is the core task of those who fully awaken to who they are, their Divine nature and purpose, and the bringing forth of that mechanism on earth that may guide humanity.

My topic today is two-fold: True Priesthood and Climax Times. By True Priesthood I mean the embodiment in form on earth of the transcendent, Heavenly Priesthood, however adequately embodied or manifested it is on earth, or not. The Priesthood After The Order Of Melchizedek is not merely an invisible, Heavenly Priesthood, but it has taken form, and we saw it manifesting, emerging, under Uranda and Martin. And we have gone through some good times, some bad times, some climax times, in the process of all of that. It's clear that through history the embodiment was often very small, but it provided, nonetheless, essential stimulation for humanity’s forward movement.

The second topic I want to touch on is Climax Times. Isn't this something that increasing numbers of people on earth sense in the present cycle—a great pressure mounting over time, leading to points of substantial change? We can sense it. You may have heard in the news today that there was possibly another assassination attempt on Donald Trump. These are just surface ripples of what is moving in the larger cycle. Martin spoke of the pressure of spirit, of heaven, of the increasing sounding of the trumpet—spirit at the back of all the outer events. The pressures at the outer level are not merely due to outer factors alone, but principally because of what's moving at the level of spirit and the planetary cycle as a whole.

As we enter into these topics of the True Priesthood and Climax Times, I want to do so by recounting a vision that came to me when I was in meditation, a vision that contains both these topics, True Priesthood and climax times, in a single vivid image and scene. By the way, this meditation and vision didn't come to me last week or last month, or even last year, but rather long ago, when I was 24 years old, shortly before meeting the Emissaries. The vision came unexpectedly, and left an indelible imprint in my heart and mind. The vision was of a moment and circumstance that contained the ending of a civilizational epoch. It was a specific scene, carrying poignancy and depth of feeling. It was only later in Class, listening to Uranda about the Motherland and its fall that I could begin to understand the nature of the vision. At the time, before Class, I had no idea of any of this, but this scene came. Perhaps the vision was a memory from our personal and collective past.

The scene image was of several rooms, seen from above, from the vantage point of the ceiling you could say. I was looking down upon several rooms. The building itself was perhaps built of stone, like a large mansion, or castle. There were people huddled in other rooms, but in the room directly below there was an older man lying on a stone table, unmoving. This man was clearly a man of great substance and character, a leader. He had sustained some kind of burn-like injury to his hands. I didn’t know how an understanding like this can come, but in a flash I understood that he had been instrumental in holding an energetic  alignment of some sort until the final moment, when it could no longer be held. Several things stood out in the vision. One of them was a pregnant sense of massive loss, and the long cycle of reverberating harvest and sorrow that would follow. The atmosphere and feeling was so palpable that you could cut it with a knife. A sense of civilization having just been lost. The scene wasn't a scene of outer destruction, just a room, a man lying on a stone table with others in a nearby room.

The other thing that stood out vividly was the character of this man; his ability, uprightness, gentle but an obvious strength. What I understood years later, as I learned of spirit, and of Uranda, is that this man was a Divine Priest, perhaps a Priest of the Order of Melchizedek, of that age, and he had provided an essential expression of true identity and character in that climax cycle. This is one of the leadership provisions of the True Priesthood: to provide essential expression of true identity and character in good times, in bad times, and in climax times. The seeds planted thereby are lifelines for humanity and for a future to come thereby.

Perhaps one more thing that can be said of the True Priesthood is that it is the focal expression of the character of God on earth, the focal expression of wisdom, courage selflessness, dedication. As Uranda has pointed out, it is because of the lives of countless individuals who expressed such character, in its fullness or in part, that humanity is as intact as it is today, with the opportunities that we have today.

I want to touch on a few facets of the True Priesthood, and particularly about two aspects of the substance of the Priesthood: a negative aspect of the substance of the Priesthood and a positive aspect of the substance of the Priesthood. Uranda spoke of the substance of Truth as being lust—Divine Lust, upward lust, upward passion. Perhaps we could say that the negative aspect of the substance of the Priesthood is the substance of Truth—passion upward, lust upward, lust for the LORD, for the Truth—trembling to obey. Trembling To Obey. What is in that trembling? It's passion, upward passion for the LORD, the running to meet the LORD. And perhaps it is in the Priesthood that is represented most strongly and clearly—this trembling to obey, the passion upward, the running in eagerness to meet and greet the LORD. Because of this, they are the Priesthood. In this they represent the best of humanity, that in humanity that longs to run to meet the LORD, that in humanity where passion upward is alive and strong. So it is that the Priesthood represents the best of humanity, represents the response of the people to the LORD.

And the Priesthood also, in it's positive aspect, represents the LORD to the people. From passion upward, lust upward, comes union, and in union with the Lord, the Priesthood represents the Lord to the people. Without that passion there would be no union, and no means thus to represent the Lord to the people. The Lord is represented to the people through the provision of the Word, the Tone, and specifically the invitation to men and women of integrity, to humanity, to rise up to its true nature. This invitation is focalized in the presence and expression of the True Priesthood. The True Priesthood focalizes passion upward and invitation to true identity to humanity, in good times, bad times, climax times.

Incidentally, I want to say a word about attunement and the Priesthood. We could say that attunement is a primary gift of the Priesthood. And that attunement is born of the Priesthood and born of upward passion, born of the upward Shekinah Fire in the heart of the Priesthood. Upward Fire provides a channel for downward Fire. Shekinah Fire upwards opens the way for Shekina Fire downward, to come into the world. You could say, without that passion, and ultimately without Shekinah, no Attunement. There would only be the form of an attunement. But the true substance of an attunement, right at the back of that substance we could say, is Divine Lust, love upward. We instinctively know this and inherently know this, but I think it's helpful to speak clearly and consciously. The upward passion in an attunement server activates the same in a servee, in the one receiving the attunement. If the passion upward has been weak in that person, the passion in the server activates that same passion in the one receiving the attunement, and it is that that begins to allow the flow, the figure eight flow from earth to heaven and from heaven to earth—Shekinah cycle completed! The servee comes alive.

I want to say a word about times when the Priesthood was weakened on earth a great deal, in form or in substance. Recently there was mention of the time of Judges, when every man did what they thought right in their own eyes, and the substance of the Priesthood was very weak. And during the time when the Master Jesus was left without a hedge. We can see that was a moment when the Priesthood was weakened, at least in form, substantially. But in substance, in essence, the Master maintained that vital attunement, and the connection, the manifestation of the Priesthood focalized on earth was not broken. Another time that we know of is a time of Uranda’s use of the response of horses—that famous story. His hedge was provided by the horses. May that not happen again!

Next, I want to say something about climax times, climax cycles. Cycles, we know, build and don't just all stay even indefinitely; they build and often build to certain pressure points. When cycles are larger, they build to larger climax points. These pressure points and climax points are points of change. Sometimes it's because we don't take advantage of the pressure points where smaller changes could have been made, that larger climax points come, where all the changes are due at once. We can sense pressure building in the world. Perhaps humanity has missed many pressure points where smaller changes could have been made. We are aware of how recalcitrant humanity has been in many ways. Just look at climate change. The pressure points and the warnings were given many times. They have come and gone. Now we build towards climax times. Moments of climax are moments of choice, and of proving—choosing what, proving what? Proving that spiritual expression is truly one’s priority. And what about that other thing… called “results,” or attachment thereof. Let love radiate without concern for results. Well, we have known this and in substantial ways practised this. But when there are more results at stake, will we choose to let love radiate without concern for those results? Will we choose spiritual expression, then? Spiritual expression versus desired or favoured results.

One climax moment that we know of in history was in the life of Abram. The climax moment came when Abram had to choose between what he understood as spiritual expression versus the one result that he longed for the most, to keep his son of old age, Isaac—not just a personal son but a son that he sensed had a larger purpose and meaning for many more people. Which would he choose in that climax moment? Had he chosen, inwardly at least, not to sacrifice Isaac because he couldn't bear the result of losing his son, what would we have known of history? It would have been a different history. What inheritance would he have left to Isaac had he made that choice for those reasons? He would have been a good father, a truly loving father. But would he have left the inheritance of the Priesthood, the character of it, to Isaac? Would he choose spirit first, no matter the results? By true choice focalized in that climax moment, Abram left to the next generations the expression, the character of the Priesthood as the true and immeasurable inheritance. Thus, a legacy of true character was opened. In the story of Job there's a similar theme. Wherein, in climax times, hours and days Job chose uprightness, integrity over results. We know the same in the story of the Master.

Obviously in our lives and in the lives of those that constitute the Priesthood, we prepare through the small circumstances that come to us, prepare in times of lesser pressure. Perhaps through times of smaller crisis also, the making of true choice. I know around me there are various friends and servers facing their own large pressure points. What I say to my friends is simple. Choose spiritual expression first. And for some of whom I'm aware, the results that they possibly face are large results, that would affect the rest of their lives. But I say to them, choose spiritual expression first, and all else will follow. Among other things that spiritual expression will be and is the true inheritance and protection for your child. More than many other things, they'll grow with a parent that is a true Priest, a Priestess, and that is the inheritance the child will receive. Can there be a greater inheritance than that? Give the child millions, to what end? Give them the inheritance of a Priestess or a Priest who has loved spiritual expression first, like Abram did. That's the true inheritance. Spirit is supreme. Only spiritual expression has the weight of reality. The circumstances and results will come and go. But what will remain is spirit expressed and imprinted in the substance and heart and memory of humanity. That will remain.  In some ways, there are climax times that come, that are times and hours and days of possible maximum loss at an outer level. And, as I say, there are my friends who face such situations, and I say to them, the hour of the possible maximum loss may, in fact be the hour of your victory, your finest hour.

Remember, this was Winston Churchill's speech to the people of England, with the Hitler's Luftwaffe air force approaching, with all Europe having fallen; the hour of greatest crisis for England. A climax hour come, where massive loss, the worst possibility was at stake, and people quavered, trembled in fear. He said instead, “This is our finest hour.” This is when the truth of who we really are may come forth. Did he not speak the expression of a true Priest in that moment? And history was changed because of that spiritual expression. Imagine if he had also been so concerned with results that he didn't know how to offer the expression of spirit. Would we have an America or an England, or a world, as we have? We have a different world because of it.

I want to speak about what I would call Coming To Zero. Come to zero as we, even in our elder and senior years, make ourselves fully available to spirit and spiritual expression. We can do something in preparation that might be describable as “coming to zero”. Often in elder, senior years there's more rigidity that sets in. We kind of all know this a little bit—rigidity of attitude, behaviour, something that in our passionate younger years we might have been scoffed at. But if we have some habits, rigidities that have settled in, how about coming to zero, letting it all go. Many of us who are sharing this time are so much more fluid than the vast numbers of others of similar age in the world. But perhaps there's something a little more that's possible in us of letting go, letting it all go, coming to the original place of our passionate, eager response, running to meet the Lord, trembling to obey, and responding to the increasing sound of the trumpet, not with concern but with thrill as we sense climax times emerging, to run to meet the Lord within the climax time. The complete willingness to change even now, coming to zero, freeing up spiritually, freeing up materially.

I know I'm being a little … what shall I say? It could be a little presumptuous of me to say these things, that perhaps there may be more coming to zero for us to do. If you find it presumptuous, please forgive me. But to zero we must come—we must come. Only as we are in that place of complete fluidity, at zero, available to respond swiftly, decisively, may we provide the expression of the identity and character of the Lord, in the most decisive moments, the climax moments. That man that I described in the vision, that Priest, would he have been able to do what he seems to have done had he not come to zero, where nothing external mattered but the one thing—to offer spirit.

I want to be more presumptuous yet, if I haven't been too presumptuous already. So I ask your forgiveness in advance. One of the most stuck patterns of human nature is the earthly pattern of leaving an inheritance. Those of us of older years have all given thought to what we might leave in inheritance to children, to family, etc. This is an ancient pattern. Have we come to utter clarity of what it means to leave inheritance to our children? Have we, following the old pattern of thinking, just merely thought to do as so many do, just leave the material inheritance to the children. I give thanks to God that Warren Buffett, of all people, is not doing that; he's leaving the vast portion of his possessions to the greater good, and not to his children. Have we considered the possibility of freeing that material inheritance in such a way that there is greater freedom, flexibility, and ask the Lord, “How may this material inheritance be best used.” This is not a pitch to give money. It is an invitation to think carefully, deeply how our substance may best be used as true Priests and Priestesses, offering a true inheritance to our children, an inheritance of character and spirit, offering a true inheritance to the LORD. Wow! Yujin is audacious to bring up such a topic! But isn't it truly important to touch a topic as this where there's the most old-grip rigidity, old pattern of thinking? So I suggest this, just for thought.

Finally, as we come to the close, I want to touch on another coming to zero, and this relates to the question, “What does the LORD need the most in these crucial times?” Would it not be a true pattern of agreement; not general agreement, long distance agreement, but close, unified agreement. What stands in the way of it? Patterns of experience, memory of one another that brings wariness. Some of it may be understandable, but what about coming to zero? And I include in this among core leaders and individuals in our extended body. How about the possibility of coming to zero? How about the possibility of cancelling debts of the heart, cancelling debts of hurt, cancelling prejudgments, cancelling positions, outer and mental? How about coming to zero regarding one another, putting ourselves together on the altar before the LORD, coming to zero together? Would this not rejoice the LORD, coming to zero in such a way that spirit may have a way, totally unexpected. Well, climax points have a way bringing things to zero. Some of it is forced. For some wars bring things to zero; other things sometimes bring things to zero. But the Priesthood are the ones willing to come to zero without the stimulation of outer events.

Come to zero because of love for the LORD, where all is yielded, all is made possible, fluid, especially one's opinions are yielded to the LORD. True expression in climax times, coming to zero as Abram did, bringing everything so that the unfettered expression of spirit may be possible through us. On this anniversary of this ministry, I'm happy to share this consideration with you of the true expression of Priests and Priestesses After The Order Of Melchizedek, those that are willing to come to zero in passionate love for the LORD allow what usually is impossible to be possible, and thus allow history that would otherwise be impossible to be made possible.

So thank you friends. It's been a precious time together, as Priests and Priestesses, for the love of our KING, for service to humanity, freeing up spiritually, freeing up materially, freeing up mentally, freeing up at every level, we make ourselves, our substance  available for the expression of spirit in these crucial times. Thank you all.

Original Sin

Original  Sin

YouTube  Audio

Uranda  April 6, 1953

The question comes up constantly—you run into it, and it may be a question in some of your minds here: What is original sin? It is a term that is used very widely and is centered in the consciousness of many, many people. I think, generally speaking, if a person enquired as to what original sin is, it is more or less an idea that since Adam and Eve sinned, then everybody has sin; it is just original sin that comes down to you. Well, as far as I am concerned, that is no explanation at all.

The original sin, which you have no doubt considered somewhat in the other classwork, I believe, by now, I am not quite sure—in any case it is the eating of the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the serpent whispered, “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof … ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Man's effort to be as God, instead of being the means by which God can manifest on earth, has caused all the misery and suffering and sorrow and death that the world has known. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, to be the Body of God on earth, to be the means by which God's dominion could be extended into the earth with respect to all forms of manifestation here, including the elements. But man lost that dominion when he tried to be as God. When we recognize that the knowledge of good and evil is the fruit of the forbidden tree the whole thing is simplified—because man, judging with respect to the scope of his own immediate life as he sees it, as he thinks he wants it to be, is incapable of seeing clearly with respect to the whole, of recognizing the way in which the vibratory patterns of all human lives come together, or blend and influence each other.

There may be someone in Canada, we will say, someone in the eastern United States, in this very moment, who is responding as readily as the individual knows how, to the Divine Pattern, and that person's life may have, according to the Divine View, a very significant part to play in relationship to what we are doing here today, or our whole program in general. You are not in position to know this person; you are not even aware consciously that such a person exists; and yet that person's life and what that person is doing has a potential in relationship to us, perhaps to one of you individually, or all of us together. And if you function on an arbitrary basis, according to your own vision of what should be done and what should not be done, so that you do not yield to the spirit of God, you set up that vibratory pattern here which tends to make that person feel the same attitude. He or she tends to say, “Well now, I don't understand this urge that is within me. I don't see where I'm going, therefore I must use my intelligence. It looks to me like this would be good and that would be evil, and the impulse in me wants me to do something about which my mind says, ‘That would not work out right,’ so I'll do this.” But what happens? Following the impulse you initiated here, that person does what seems to him to be good. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/that-which-ye-do-uranda-1938-that-which.html] But it turns out to be wrong. If he had followed this other course, which looked to the human mind, on the basis of limited vision, to be wrong, it would have been right and he would have carried through in the vibratory pattern and the path would have been open for the true patterns of correlation.

Man's vision, then, man's understanding, is inadequate to the necessities of a recognition of all the factors that are involved with respect to all the people of the world. And what you do day-by-day has meaning to everyone, in one way or another. Therefore when you make your course according to the human determination of what you think you want, what you think you want to do, without regard to the direction of the spirit of God, you are going to do something wrong; you are eating of the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. For the mind of man says, “I can determine with my knowledge. I have the knowledge here already, and I can determine what is good and what is evil. I will not pick the evil fruit; I will only pick the good fruit.” But everyone who attempts that finds that what he thought was going to be good turns out to be evil; that is, not a pattern of Divine Fulfilment.

That in essence is what brought about the fall in the first place: man's self-determination without regard to the Plan of God. He was going to be as God; he was going to use the blessings he had, the powers he had, the abilities he had, for his own selfish purpose. This has been pictured as eating an apple, or something of that sort, which in limited allegorical presentation may be said to have some significance. But it was not just eating something. It was not that God put a tree in a physical garden and said to man, “Well now, of all the trees in the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of this tree, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.” It was the tree that is with us here today as much as it was with our forefathers. And that original sin is the sin which human beings are committing today, just as much as any Adam or Eve that ever lived—that original sin of eating of the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the self-determination according to the supposed wisdom of the human mind. Because what man thinks to be good turns out to be bad, and what man thinks would have been bad turns out to be good.

There is a popular saying, “Hindsight is better than foresight.” After it is all over, a person says, “Well I wish I had done that. If I had only known, I could have done this.” Yes, if you had only known. God did know. And if you were aware of the working of the spirit, that current of the spirit sought to direct you in the right direction so that you would do the right thing. But when the human mind attempts to determine what is good and what is evil the human being always fails and brings discord and disturbance into his life. The individual may say, “Well what good is my intelligence then? I thought God gave me a mind so that I could determine what is good, what is good in my life, so that I can govern my life and live a good life.” So many people tend to jump to the conclusion, when you suggest that they are not supposed to judge good and evil with their mind, that it simply means, then, that you can do anything you please, that you are not supposed to say, “Well, this is good or bad; so I'll just do whatever I want to,” and it is supposed to be all right. That is not suggested at all. That is a fanciful human interpretation of the Divine Truth. It does not apply. It simply means that once we are attuned to God and letting the spirit of God direct, we do not have to depend upon the puny wisdom of the human mind.

And that original sin is still with us. Not because of heredity, not because of the mere fact that someone back along the line undertook to be as God and set himself up in opposition to God, but because that is the thing which human beings are doing today. The Lord said, “In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Now here is another passage which clearly indicates that the days God was talking about were not twenty-four-hour days. We have been recognizing something about the creative cycles, the length of time involved in a Creative Day, 25,850 years approximately. But Adam, according to the story, ate of the forbidden fruit and he lived to be nearly one thousand years old before he died—according to the story. God said, “In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Well, then, if God had meant a twenty-four-hour day, that would have made God a liar, and God is not a liar. So to say that it is a twenty-four-hour day, as so many attempt to do, is just simply wrong. “In the day that ye eat thereof”—in the life cycle, in the life span, in the period of time you are on earth—"if you eat thereof, you die.” But just as surely as that is true under the Law, just so surely is the opposite true. “In the day that ye shall cease eating of the fruit of the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil”—and the tree is exactly what its name implies, the knowledge of good and evil— “in the day that ye shall cease to eat of this forbidden fruit, ye shall surely live.” Just as surely.

For how many centuries, how many millennia, has man been trying to prove that God was wrong? For around twenty thousand years. And man has not proven God wrong. So it behooves us to recognize that basic key: that we cease eating of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. “Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it.” You reach a point where you leave it alone. It is not your business. God said, “All of these other trees are yours. This one is mine. I reserve this tree to myself.” Why was it there? Just to tempt human beings? Oh no. Just to be a mockery? No. That was God's tree, and it is. He reserved that tree for Himself. And it is in the pattern of life today, and you can stop eating of that forbidden fruit and let God take care of that tree.

Learn to follow the direction of the spirit. And once you stop eating of the forbidden tree, once you stop even touching it—not even going up to take a good look at it, not worrying about smelling it even; leave it alone; it belongs to God—and learn to live in the current of the spirit of God, what happens? You begin to live. What did the Master say? “I am the resurrection, and the life,” the reality of life. And what does His whole life exemplify? It exemplifies what it means to leave the forbidden tree alone. He said, “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” He lived in accordance with that principle. And blessed ones, we can too. And unless we do we are not going to be true servers. Anything less than that is not satisfactory. If we are going to be so serving that we can help other people to begin to live in the true sense, we must be letting the light so shine that we can inspire others to leave that forbidden tree alone. You cannot extend the gift of life to another until that other is willing to leave the forbidden tree alone. I don't care how many attunements you give, how many lectures you give, how many acts of goodness you express on earth, in actual fact you accomplish nothing until or unless you inspire others to leave that tree alone; because you can talk to them, you can serve them in every conceivable way, and if they continue to eat of the forbidden fruit, they are going to die just the same. They are going to get sick, they are going to be unhappy, and there is nothing you can do about it.

This emphasizes one of the basic factors with respect to true service: “According to your response, so be it unto you.” We cannot impose life upon anyone, and life, in the true sense, is that which brings healing with respect to body or mind or heart, spirit, affairs—it makes no difference. It must be the natural expression of life through the individual. If there is to be healing their life must be on an increase. As long as life is on the decrease, the life current on the decline, you are not going to have healing in any true sense. You may get better for a little while, in one way or another, but there will not be any true healing. So the life current must be on the increase, and the only way it can be on the increase is for the human being to begin to leave the forbidden tree alone. You may not be able to speak of it specifically the first time you give a person an attunement, or perhaps not even the second time, but you begin to set the pattern, you begin to open the door. Maybe a little at a time; perhaps it will take six months. It is not for you to judge. But as long as there is response, remember that everything you are doing in giving an attunement, or serving in any way whatsoever, is leading to this one point: to get the individual to stop eating the forbidden fruit. Because as long as he does he will keep on dying.

And this forbidden fruit, taken by the human being, produces a narcotic effect; it dulls the senses, distorts the vision, makes many things seem to be something that they are not, and so clouds the perception that the human being imagines many things to be so with respect to himself or others when it is merely a figment of fancy. He may as well have taken some kind of dope. It would not have dulled the senses any more, in fact not as much. So in whatever sphere of service we function, without any exception, only to the degree that we can inspire, lead and encourage others to move to a point where they stop eating of the forbidden fruit, can we begin to get them in position where they can eat the fruit of the tree of life. And that tree of life is available to us now, just as much as it was to Adam or Eve. It is available to us today just as surely as it was to them. So we begin to see that there is a basic pattern, a point to which we must move.

Now in this process of movement out of the old pattern into the new, which is the process of resurrection, something specific must take place with respect to what has been called repentance and forgiveness, etc. True repentance is simply a willingness to let one's life be redirected. True repentance is the willingness to let one's life be redirected. So many people imagine that seeking forgiveness or repentance means groveling in the dust and merely making it appear that one is extremely sorry. Well, there is possibly some regret and there is possibly some sorrow, but repentance and the process of forgiving is not a process of groveling, not in God's way. In God's way it is a process of ennobling. For if something is wrong and needs to be changed, it is not a process of groveling that is necessary; it is an ennobling process, making more noble, making more real, making more honest. So if we are going to assist others in movement away from the forbidden tree, so that we can lead them along the golden path that leads to the tree of life, we must first inspire repentance; that is, the willingness to let one's life be redirected in actual fact. Not just to say, “I'm sorry,” and go and do the same thing all over again. That is not repentance. But an actual redirection of life, a willingness, an eager willingness, that it should be so. As long as the individual resists, resents and refuses he has not repented, no matter what he may say with his lips about being sorry.

So first, the willingness to be redirected. And then, if you are going to serve as an instrument of God's power on earth, you must be able to forgive sin. If you cannot forgive sin in actual fact—I am not just talking about saying words—if you cannot, as a member of the Body of God on earth, actually forgive sin, you cannot be a server. Forgiveness? You can offer forgiveness, but it must be more than that. If you are going to be a server you must be able to help the individual through the process of letting his future be changed, of letting the ill things be nullified, and of letting the new patterns of life be initiated so that he or she can begin to be a man or a woman according to the divine pattern.

Now do not let it—what shall I say?—discourage you in some fashion because I say that you must be able to forgive sin in actual fact if you are going to truly serve. You—you, the human being? You, just the physical body? What did the Master say? “The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.” If the words you are speaking in your ministry, in your service, are the words of God—not originated according to some human fancy or concept—then God is in action in you and through you. Here you are, going through a process of training, instruction, which enables you to learn to let that be a fact, not just a fanciful dream for some day in the future. If it is not a fact with respect to my ministry with you, then you are wasting your time listening to me. If I am not exemplifying the things I am talking about, then you may as well go somewhere else. So you begin to see that as you let the spirit of God work through you in actual fact, you can inspire the willingness to let one's life be redirected, and then you can forgive sin, you can begin to work out the pattern with the individual or individuals by which the wrong cycles are nullified and brought to naught and the future is changed.

With respect to any illness of body or mind or heart, what healing can there be without forgiveness? None. In every pattern of healing—I don't care what it is or what method you think you used—there was no healing, not even of a cut on your finger, without the reality of the process of forgiveness offered and received. Because, in the ordinary course of events, forgiveness not received would turn into serious infection and one thing and another. It is all a pattern leading to what? Destruction, decay, disintegration, death. You may say, “Well I didn't die the same hour I did it, so I guess it's all right.” I have had people get all up in the air because they could not force me into some self-active pattern, or force this ministry into some self-active pattern; and they would leave and they would say, “Well now, nothing has happened to me, so it's all right. I'm perfectly safe,” etc., etc., etc. All kinds of ridiculous things. I am not interested in hurting anybody. Sometimes people who consider themselves my enemies decide that if they do not drop dead instantly, well, then I don't amount to anything. We actually had a man here during the earlier Class who got defiant and went around here for several days deliberately undertaking to prove that what I said was not to be considered, because he took the attitude, and tried to convince people, that if I was right, then he would just drop dead, and if he didn't drop dead, then I was wrong. Well he is far, far from here now. Finland, I believe. In any case, I was not concerned about his dropping dead. It would not have done me any good, or anyone else.

Adam, after he ate the forbidden fruit, lived for nearly one thousand years, but he still died. Human beings are so inclined to say, “If it doesn't happen within such and such a time it is not going to happen and I can go on and do as I please. What difference does it make?” They are not going to push God into a corner like that. So the point is that whatever healing takes place, at any time, under any circumstance, there is a process of forgiving sin. If your finger heals, then God has forgiven you for cutting your finger or it would not get well. It does not make any difference, that which is established in the wrong pattern must be nullified and the right pattern established or reestablished. That is forgiveness and the receiving of forgiveness. And it is only to the degree that you can actually produce that in fact, inspire it, and by the working of the power of God through you accomplish it, that you can serve. And that is what? The beginning of the eating of the fruit of the tree of life.

Do you imagine that the tree of life is just some physical tree like—well, the wrong tree was an apple tree, so I suppose the right tree was a peach tree or something of the sort? And it was going to somehow be big enough? It would have to be as big as a banyan tree, wouldn't it, even to take care of a little section of humanity. People must have to line up out here for miles and miles, and stay in line, and wait days and days to get by, to get a little nibble off the tree of life. Just consider, over two billion people on the face of the earth, and the tree of life is just going to be one tree, a physical tree somewhere. Everybody has to get a bite of it once in a while in order to have eternal life. You see how fanciful the human concept is? It is not a physical tree. It was not supposed to be. It is a pattern of portrayal. And that tree of life—whether you can see it or know it or not is beside the point—is available to us today on exactly the same basis that it was available to Adam and Eve. As long as you eat of the forbidden tree, you cannot find it. You can search, you can look, you can feel, you can do anything you want to, and you cannot find it. I can tell you something about it, but if you still insist on eating the forbidden tree you will never find it. I can lead you blindfolded and set your feet on the golden path and then take the blindfold off and say, “Now you follow this path and you will come to the tree of life”; but if you have not stopped using the narcotic of the forbidden fruit, you will not find it. You cannot be pushed into it, you cannot be forced into it. You have to make your choice between the two, and they are both available now, in this day and age, to us as much as to anyone. One is to be left alone. And we do not need to imagine a big banyan tree somewhere, as a symbol of the tree of life.

Do you know what a banyan tree is, all of you? Anyone here who doesn't? Well a banyan tree is the biggest tree, in the sense of acreage covered, on the face of the earth. Now of course the highest and biggest, in the sense of the ordinary pattern of a tree, is the redwood, the California redwood. If any of you have seen those you certainly have had the privilege of seeing something very beautiful. They are the oldest living things on earth. I have seen them. A banyan tree does not grow so tall, although it may get two or three hundred feet high, I believe, in some cases—they get pretty big anyway—but they cover a large territory; they spread out, and as their limbs get out too far, so that they would sag, they send a root down and it builds another trunk right down into the ground, so that the branches go on and on and on. And one banyan tree can cover acres of ground, because the branches are held up by little trunks running down to the ground, developing a root system and so on—all one tree. So the banyan tree covers more ground per tree than any other tree on earth. That is the reason I suggested it as a possible illustration with respect to man's foolish fancies.

How ridiculous it would be, with even the largest banyan tree on earth, everyone trying to get to it to pick a little fruit, to get a bite of the tree of life. You do not find it that way, and as long as man imagines that he will, it proves only one thing: He has been eating the dope; he has been getting the narcotic effect of eating the forbidden fruit. And he can have all kinds of flights of fancy on that basis. So our purpose is to inspire human beings to get away from the dope habit, get away from the narcotic effect of the forbidden fruit, to learn to leave it alone, not even to stop and look at it. “Ye shall not touch it.” Leave it alone. And then, as the consciousness clears, perception becomes more keen, response more vivid, step-by-step you can persuade such a responding one to move toward the tree of life, and one bright day, to begin to eat of it. And only as we accomplish that are we true servers.

Now, going back to the story with respect to Abram and Melchizedek, where were we? Anyone recall? [Albert Ackerley: “We were to become Priests and Priestesses after the Order of Melchizedek.”] That's right. “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine.” You remember, on Friday we recognized that bread and wine, brought forth by Melchizedek, was also offered by our LORD at what is called the Last Supper, or the Lord's Supper. Bread and wine—exactly the same symbols for the same purpose. As the Master in the upper room blessed His disciples when He gave them bread and wine, so we read that, “… Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.” [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/service-in-temple-of-light.html]

And we recognized that in this movement forward, in the process of becoming in actual fact members of the One Body, letting the power of God work in us and through us to carry on the Divine Pattern, we must become Priests and Priestesses after the Order of Melchizedek. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/priesthood-after-order-of-melchizedek.html] We can be hangers-on, or we can be disciples, or followers—a disciple is a follower—or we can reach the point of being prophets (that is, letting the Word of the Lord express through our lips), or we can keep on and become Priests or Priestesses.

Now I would not want you to feel that I arbitrarily take the stand that every man, woman and child on the face of the earth should be a Priest or Priestess in the ultimate outworking. There are all kinds of spheres of service and responsibility which relate to that central focalization, and for a person who is content just to be a disciple, well, no one is going to find fault with him if he is a good disciple, or a good prophet or prophetess, as the case may be. There are many spheres of service. But from the standpoint of actually establishing the patterns and accomplishing the Will of God on earth, it must be through the Priesthood after the Order of Melchizedek. There is no other way. That is the way which Jesus Christ revealed on earth, and He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” He was reestablishing on earth a consciousness, an understanding, a recognition, of the Priesthood after the Order of Melchizedek.

And we might point out that it is only as human beings have responded to the influence released in the pattern of the Priesthood after the Order of Melchizedek that they have accomplished anything worthwhile in a real beneficial sense to humanity or to the glory of God, at any time on the face of the earth. This is without respect to church or denomination or creed or color or anything else. You begin to realize that this in which we are sharing comes over to us from the Motherland, from the days before the fall of man, and it is the Divine Pattern which has not been changed. It is still the same. It is still the same Law and principles of being. What we are speaking of here as the Priesthood after the Order of Melchizedek was the governing force on earth before the fall of man, and had been for around one hundred and thirty thousand years. And it has been the governing force behind every constructive move, every really blessed life, on the face of the earth since that day, without respect to any of the man-made divisions.

In other words, when we begin to recognize the basic truth of the matter, we find that it is the catholic church. Catholic means Universal. Consider the idea of Greek Catholic, Roman Catholic. Both, by the very fact that they say Greek or Roman, say it is not catholic. Catholic is universal. To say Roman Catholic is to establish a division, a limit, to build a fence. In other words you begin to see that whatever is constructive or right or real, or response to the spirit of God, in any person on the face of the earth, regardless of nationality or creed or religion or anything else, is a response to that pattern in which we are engaged. We do not use the word “catholic,” because of its, well, misuses; that is, we do not use it publicly. But it means universal. And we do not speak of it as a church particularly, in the ordinary sense, because it is much more than the human concept of what a church means. But it is the Priesthood after the Order of Melchizedek. And in order to see the full significance of this, we go back and recognize that the Divine Pattern was in operation before the fall. This pattern was in operation in relationship to the conditions that worked out after the fall. We remember man's sudden plunge downward into the caveman age, etc., and his gradual emergence into the dim dawn of history. And it was by this means that the focalization of the pattern was carried over from the period that was beyond the range of history, or man's knowledge, and reestablished with respect to the dawn of history.

So, from my standpoint, any man or woman, regardless of who it is, or where, or in what condition, what they call themselves or anything else—any man or woman on the face of the earth who lets God's Will be done, even to the slightest degree, so that there is a real service from it, that person is a part of this which you share here. And it is only to the degree that any person is a part of this, that he or she can amount to anything, I don't care what the standards according to the world concept. But this is, and has been for many thousands of years, the Universal Pattern with respect to the things of God on earth, the progress of man, everything. Every step of progress that man has made has been worked out under this pattern, without a single exception.

We have people talk about their churches or their denominations going back two or three hundred years or four hundred years, or back to the time of Jesus, or something of that nature. This program which you are sharing here goes back to the fall of man, on the basis of its present purpose—that is, the restoration of man—and it goes back to the beginning of creation, the beginning of the creation of the world in actual fact. So as far as this world is concerned it cannot be any older than that. It is the Divine Pattern in operation, and has been since the beginning of the creation of the world. Once we begin to see that, we realize that we have a tremendous responsibility, a glorious privilege, to consciously share in this process of restoration. But man has been in the fallen state for so long that he imagines that God's whole purpose is just to get him back into heaven, and once that is done, everything is done.

This twenty-thousand-year interval in which man has fallen has simply meant that some of the other things that God intended to do have had to wait a bit. Getting man back into the Divine Pattern is a temporary goal. After man is back in the Divine Pattern, then we can go on with our cosmic work, our Divine Pattern of work. Simply saving human beings is not the end and aim of all things; it is merely incidental; because when man fell, man interfered with the processes of God's creative work as it was being carried on in the solar system in relationship to the universe and the cosmos. Just as you might, conceivably, in some time in the past have been working on some certain job and you became ill and you were home for ten days, or in the hospital, we will say; well, after you were out of the hospital, and the convalescent period was over and you were strong enough, you went back on the job. And that interval is like this interval. It is a correction of something that is wrong. It is a process of restoration; it is not the real goal. It is important, but once we have achieved this process of restoration, then we can go on with our work, the work that was interfered with when man, the body of mankind, became ill through eating the forbidden fruit.

As a child, did you ever eat a green apple and get a bellyache? That is what has happened to man. And once we get him over this illness and the process of restoration worked out, then we can go back to the work that we were ordained to do. And it seems to me that once the human being begins to see that, he has a pattern of inspiration that is beyond, what shall we say, anything that is ordinary, because human beings seem to think that this little interval here, the little life span on earth, is so important—it is—and being saved is so important that once that is done it is all done, God is satisfied, that is all it is going to be for all eternity. The body of humanity became ill. It is not well yet. So as soon as the body of humanity is well and the process of restoration has been worked out, we can go back to work and do the thing that we really were ordained to do, we were intended to do and should be doing. But for the time being we are on a temporary job.

Now to carry this out a little further, so that you see the connection clearly and have a pattern of understanding with respect to what we have been meditating upon and the classwork that is coming up. You will recall in the Master's Prayer, as we considered it last evening, He made the statement that “none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” Now there is a very interesting opportunity to see the peculiar workings of the human mind in relationship to that which is actually expressed, the peculiar processes through which the mind of man goes. The 12th verse of the 17th chapter of John, specifically: “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.” The human mind jumps to the conclusion that the scripture had to be fulfilled. There was a prophecy; the scripture had to be fulfilled, therefore someone had to do this. “This must mean Judas. Therefore it means that Judas, in order to fulfil the scripture, had to betray Jesus.” That is supposed to be reasoning, logic. Only someone whose mind was filled with the dope, the narcotic of the forbidden fruit, could call that logic or reason—"that the scripture might be fulfilled.” The son of perdition did not have to be lost in an arbitrary sense merely to fulfil the scripture.

There are only two bodies on earth, [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/two-pyramids.html] the Body of the Son of God and the body of the son of perdition. And those who are coming out of the body of the son of perdition are becoming members of the Body of the Son of God. The son of perdition is lost. It is the body of humanity that is lost, wandering away from God, away from the tree of life. It is lost, and if it keeps going in the direction in which it is going it will die. Now the son of perdition must die, one way or another. It is going to be in one of two ways as far as God's Plan is concerned.

This body—to make it a little easier to illustrate; it is not the case yet, anyway, but just to illustrate principle—suppose of the two billion people on earth, one billion is actually enjoying membership in the Body of the Son of God, and the other billion has membership in the body of the son of perdition—two bodies. They are at this point in the outworking more or less equal in number of people—that is sometime in the future; we have not gotten there yet. Now the body of the son of perdition must die, it must cease to exist. As long as it exists it will be interfering with God's Plan and purpose; there will be misery and suffering and sorrow and death. So there are two ways.

Every one of that billion of people in the body of the son of perdition could relinquish the old pattern, let his or her life be redirected and move over in life into membership in the Body of the Son of God. And suppose every man, woman and child on the face of the earth did that, so that each one had entered into membership in the Body of the Son of God; the body of the son of perdition would be gone without the death of a single human being. The death, the end of the son of perdition, could come about without the death of a single human being. Now it is hardly likely that that will be the case, but I want you to see what the possibility is, because as far as God is concerned that is the desirable goal. But human beings are reactionary creatures; they are still fighting, still resenting, still trying to get their own way, still insisting on eating the forbidden fruit. So in all likelihood there will be those who will simply refuse to come out of the body of the son of perdition to become members of the Body of the Son of God.

Now that particular outworking is anticipated according to the Blueprint not because it has to be that way, not because God ordained that it had to be that way, but because God is wise enough to know human beings and to know how they are going to act—not that they have to act that way but just that they do. So when we reach a certain point in the outworking—and this is specifically mentioned in the Blueprint in the Book of Revelation—the members of the body of the son of perdition will undertake to have war with the members of the Body of the Son of God. In other words the devil and his servants will go up and make war against the servants of God. And they encamp round about the camp of the saints, etc., and the picture is that fire comes down from God out of heaven and devours them. And that is true. Once we begin to have a real control pattern, so that the currents of God's love and truth and life have meaning on earth, something along that line will work out.

What is the fire that comes down from God out of heaven? It is the fire of God's love—something that is cooling, soothing, healing, utterly wonderful to those who respond to it; something that carries the very essence of ecstasy and joys unspeakable and full of glory to anyone anywhere who will yield to it. But to anyone who fights it, it is a consuming fire. So it will work out on the basis of individual and collective response. From the standpoint of those who are members of the Body of the Son of God there will be no effort to destroy the members of the body of the son of perdition anywhere along the line, no effort whatever. But sooner or later it is anticipated, according to the vision of God in the matter, that there will be those who are members of the body of the son of perdition who will decide they are going to fight against the members of the Body of the Son of God.

Remember what I told you? We can use response that is yielded or response that is opposition, either one. So the moment they begin to fight—we will have done everything we could in the meanwhile to get them not to fight; we do not want to fight; we would that every man, woman and child on the face of the earth should yield and respond and come into the Divine Pattern in the right way—but those who begin to fight do what? They separate themselves from the source of life, from God—the positive rejection of God—and any such group action as is pictured there would simply be fighting against God's love, vigorously fighting against God's love. And what happens? The individual dries up, he is burned up, he becomes nothing.

So there are the two bodies. Our business is first to get clearly out of the body of the son of perdition as far as this group is concerned and over into membership of the Body of the Son of God, and then there to serve, to lead people, inspire away from the tree that brings death to the tree that brings life. “In the day that thou shalt cease to eat thereof, thou shalt surely begin to live.” And then to begin to actually inspire people to repent, let their lives be redirected in actual fact, on a permanent basis, and forgive sin, and move forward to the end that the Body of the Son of God shall be made manifest in all the earth, that the body of the son of perdition may be no more. So shall it be, as it is written, “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ.” The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. These are the things you are invited to share, that through your ministry, through your service, others may find and know the way, the truth and the life, and so respond that the truth may make them free. I thank God that it is so. Peace be unto you.

Nothing That Defileth

Nothing  That  Defileth

Uranda   July 15, 1954  Class

We come to the hour of our evening meditation, on July 15, 1954, in the Chapel on Sunrise Ranch. Tonight I should like to share with you a moment of meditation in line with our Class considerations of recent days, for we have been drawing nearer to a focalization of responsive realization which would make possible a sharing in God's creative activity on a larger scale. We remember that the Master mentioned that if we believed on Him, we would do the works which He did, and even greater works. We have not reached the point where we need to be concerned about the greater works yet, because we have not passed the first classification so far. But we have a goal, and a deep abiding desire to serve our KING and bring to fulfilment on earth that which He envisioned so long ago. And what were the works which He did? They were creative works—they were the expression of the Divine on earth. We have seen that goal, to some degree, for a long time or we would not be here, but I wonder if we could tonight see it in a different light, with a deeper, clearer vision.

The words which we use sometimes have a familiar sound, which suggests that we know their meaning, and we hear them and translate them into already established concepts and ideas—and that which could have been conveyed is not. In order to move effectively in this field we need to remember the sense of dedication which we have shared in times past. We need to remember so many things—not trying to dig them up and specifically think about them, but letting them be our Path. If the truth which you know, the truth which you have learned, is that which comes into vibratory play in your life in a moment such as this, your past is not made up of all the experiences you have had—the disappointments, the limitations, the ill things that you have experienced in some way—for when we come into pattern, if we let it be so, the past that has meaning is that which we have learned of Truth, and seen of Beauty, and realized in the companionship of Divine Life along the Way of Life. And to whatever degree we let that be the background of this moment, we find ourselves in the midst of a Garden. There is something of Beauty in the future. Just what, we may not fully comprehend. There is something of the Wonder of Being in this present moment which we now share. And there is the realization of the background of Reality.

There are two texts which I wish to bring to your thoughts in connection with this phase of meditation. First, the former things shall pass away. They shall not be remembered nor come into mind. The former things shall pass away. Now what are the former things? The things that existed for a little time in their distorted, disordered fashion; the things that did not belong; the things that were not of the Divine Design; that may not be in this present moment even. The former things shall pass away. They shall not be remembered nor come into mind.

What do we remember of the former days, the things that come under this classification of the “former things”? What of the things of Reality? Are they “former things”? No. For if the things which we experienced in the past were of Reality, the particular form of manifestation and experience may be past, but that is present in the now. It is something that is eternal. It is something that does not pass away. The things of God are not former things. They may have been made manifest in former days, but we have a contact with them now, because they relate to God, to Reality. The former things shall pass away. They shall not be remembered nor come into mind. Here we recognize that there is a definite pattern, wherein we may utilize deliberate processes of selectivity. We can determine on a deliberate basis the things which we accept of the former days, which shall be established in consciousness as having immediate relationship to us. The former things shall pass away. So many people remember all the ill things, as we have noted before. They remember the sufferings and miseries and sorrows, and they go over them time after time. They remember the former things and maintain their meaning arbitrarily, deliberately, instead of letting the former things pass away—to the end that they may not be remembered nor come into mind.

We have another text which I would bring to focus in this hour. It is this: remembering the setting—considering the pattern of the New Jerusalem, the new Spiritual Consciousness which comes down from God out of Heaven into the earth—and concerning this level of consciousness, this state of being, it is written “And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth or maketh a lie.” Now a lie is a form of manifestation, a form that is built without having within it the substance or quality of Truth. It may appear to be something for the moment, but it is hollow. The statement has to do with “making a lie.” Human beings may lie with their lips, but that is not the only way, because actions can lie, attitudes can lie. We can make all kinds of forms around us which are lies. Can we have true expressions of our beings which do not contain within them the substance of Truth? In actual fact, any idea which we may have, any pattern of action which we may have, which may be given form, if it is not a revelation of things that God has designed, is a lie. Human beings work to build these forms. They struggle and they try.

In this morning's Class we recognized that there is a womb. The service, From Womb Unto Womb, that I gave on February 25, 1954 [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2018/02/from-womb-unto-womb-urandas-47th.html] deals with the process of movement from one womb to another—from womb unto womb. We do have this movement from womb unto womb, birth or rebirth. We recognize that the ovum of your being, your heaven, your place of being, is at hand; and it is up to you to fertilize or to activate that ovum of your heaven. It is something which you and you alone can do, in your relationship with God. But if you try to do it without your relationship with God the Father, the ovum of heaven in the womb of Mother God will not be fertilized, and the form of your heaven will never go through the processes of gestation, and be born into the realm of form.

Human beings, realizing dimly or subconsciously, that they have not been able to fertilize the ovum of heaven, which relates to themselves on earth, have steadily gone about trying to produce something like what they think that heaven would be. They develop ideas about what they want to become, what they want to get, what they would deem to be desirable and pleasing, in the sense of environment. So they substitute some sort of workshop for the ovum in the womb of Mother God—and then they go to work to build with the work of their hands what they conceive to be necessary in their lives. They are going to shape it. They are going to make it. They are going to mold it one way or another. Ambition! Oh, such good ambition! Such great desires!

But there is reference made in the Book to a Temple not made with hands, that can grow and become real only as you allow the ovum of your heaven to be the point of conception, wherein you begin to have a part in the building of something not made with hands—the forming of heaven. “There shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth or maketh a lie.” Human beings are so inclined to have their minds centered on what they think defiles or makes a lie, and they are so identified with these distortion factors of being, whether in themselves or in another, that they think that means that they cannot get in. “There shall in no wise enter into it, anything that defileth or maketh a lie.” And they say, “That means that I cannot get in; I am not pure enough; I need to grow some more; I need to do this and that, and then some day I will be able to get into this wonderful state, whatever it may be.”

Let me tell you something. I will let you in on a little secret. I do not care how many years you may spend, how much effort you may put forth making yourself acceptable unto God, you cannot experience the true purification, the true cleansing, until you enter in. For it is in the process of entering in that whatsoever defileth or maketh a lie is left out.

Human beings look at this statement and they say, “Oh, what a barrier!” or, “I do not know whether I will ever make it, for there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth or maketh a lie.” They think it shuts them out until some hereafter, but it does not. It is one of the most wonderful statements in the Bible, one of the most marvelous declarations with respect to opportunity in our lives, right here and now. For if you stop saying, “I cannot enter in”—and remember “There shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth or maketh a lie—and you enter in, you so respond and function that you can enter in, then whatever there is in you that defileth or tends to make a lie will be squeezed out of you—if you enter in—and you will not have to try to push it out, shove it out, kick it out of yourself, dig it out of yourself, fight against it or any other such thing. For the statement is absolute, “There shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth or maketh a lie.”

What about yourself? I doubt if you are completely satisfied with yourself as you are, or you would not be here tonight. But there begins to be a realization that the centering of your consciousness, the centering of your being, is not excluded from whatever it is we are to enter into, the ovum of heaven that is at hand, so that it can begin to take form, gestate and grow, and finally be born into the realm of form. If you wait until you are satisfied with yourself, so that you can present yourself before the Throne of God, when do you think you will get there? “Just as I am, I trust—not waiting to change myself; not waiting until I know all the things that I think I ought to know; not waiting until all the questions I can think of have been answered; not waiting until this or that or the other thing—not waiting at all. Just as I am, I trust.” The Lord does not ask you to wait. If you come before the Gate of the Palace and ask for admittance to come in before the Throne of God, will the messenger there say, “Well, now here, you have this shortcoming and that lack, and the other thing. You go back out into the world now.” And you change, you grow, you do this, you do that and the other thing, you fulfil these specifications; and when you come back, having accomplished all of this, he will let you in. No. God never says that to any man, woman or child. Just as I am, I come—for until you stop trying to improve yourself so that you will be, as you think, worthy, you will never get there. It is your own idea of trying to improve yourself that keeps you out—not the necessity of staying out, but the human idea of what you think you have to be.

Now, there is the statement, “And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth or maketh a lie.” That gives us hope; that gives us a basis of realizing that it is easy to let this process work out. For if we say, “I come Dear Lord, just as I am,” and we know that whatever there may be remaining that defileth or maketh a lie cannot get in, and we say, “I am going in”—then the I am of yourself is not identified with what cannot get in, but with what is already in, or can go in—and you walk through the door, you accept the invitation. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/if-world-can-help-it-no-leader-shall.html] Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time. It is repeated in so many ways, over and over and over againnow—not waiting until some future time to come in. And what happens? The very fact that you go in, and you are not identified with what cannot go in—you start in, and whatever cannot go in is squeezed out or falls off, or is somehow gone. Perhaps you do not even know how it went or where; but as you come in, it is just simply pushed away, because it was not you—it never was you, it does not belong to you, it did not identify you, it did not characterize you—for you, in the true sense, you belong to God. But not the things that are hanging on to you that are not of God's Design—they will be cleansed away, purified, taken out of you. Of course you must be willing to let them go; for if, the moment you feel them being dislodged, you turn around and say, “Who is trying to pick my pockets? Here, I cannot let go of that.” Where is your response? To God, so that you will be drawn on in, or to the thing that is started to be squeezed out of you. Why not let it go? It is not you. If you think you must grab on to it, and you become disturbed because it is being squeezed out, what happens? You withdraw your response to that which would draw you in, and turn it to the thing that is being squeezed out of you.

Now in this process there is going to be some pressure. I never suggested any of you would get through it without some pressure. Of course there will be some pressure. What will you do under that pressure? To what will you respond? What will be your centering? If it is where it belongs, and you feel something being squeezed out of you, something being taken out of you—you are losing it, it is going—are you going to turn around and say, “Wait a minute, I had better examine that. I know Lord, I can trust you, but I would still like to know what you are taking out of me?” Just refuse, that is all; just refuse—a little cleansing of things that ought to have been left behind long ago, that do not belong to you. If you will trust the Lord, and keep your attention centered where it belongs, you will be drawn into the ovum of your heaven at hand, and there the cycle of gestation will begin. But it will not take form in a moment. And if, the minute you get into your little ovum in your heaven, you say, “Well I thought, well, this is not heaven. You know, I had heaven all pictured. I know what heaven is like. This certainly is not heaven. Somebody is fooling me.” And you wiggle back out again, because you do not find heaven just the way you think you ought to find it—already made, already finished, everything done. Your heaven will not take form until you share the forming of it, here or anywhere! You will never reach a ready-made heaven in this life, or after what we call death. You will never reach a ready-made heaven, where it is all finished and you do not have to do anything.

So the ovum of the heaven that is at hand will not immediately contain everything that you think your heaven should contain. It must go through the processes of gestation, growth, development, and finally birth into form. And even when the babe is born, it is not the full grown man or woman. It must still grow. For the moment the babe is born out of the womb of its mother, it is born into the womb of the home; and it gestates and grows for a while in the womb of the home, and then it is born out of that womb into the womb of the community—school and all the other cycles of training, beginning about six years of age—and out of that womb into another; and out of that womb into another. Be sure you have the idea, now. That which is born out of any womb must be born into another womb, where the next step in development takes place. You were not born from your mother’s womb, six feet tall and fully formed in proportion, but just a babe. And you had to grow in the womb, the home, school, community, and so on. Finally you reached physical maturity. But that leaves you with other maturities to be attained—and if not taken care of correctly, in the right womb, you will never become a full grown or mature man or woman.

Now, in the womb of your heaven—in the womb of Mother God there is your heaven which must be fertilized by your presence in it, not outside of it—in it. And when you have entered into the ovum of your heaven that is at hand, in that moment your heaven begins. And if you look around, and sorta smugly say “This surely is not heaven. I thought I was going to enter in. I thought it was going to be this way or that way, and the other way. This cannot be that wonderful something.” And the individual starts rejecting it and looking for some other place to go to. No. Having entered in, you abide, and you let it grow; and you let it take form; you let it be born—and in its birth it is the expression of your being. For just as there is a God Being that is the Center of your Identity in Truth—in relationship to your physical body, you are the God Being in the body of your heaven that surrounds you, for it is the expression of your being. You, God Being and human being in Oneness, become the Father of the body of your heaven. And it is the realm of the expression of your being, in relationship to your sharing in the creative processes by which something may become.

Now it is very simple, is it not? Your body, as a human being, is the place wherein your God Being has focalization, or dwells. But the place that is to surround you is to be your body of being which we call heaven; and you, in oneness with your God Being, are the father within that body—that body which we call heaven, the realm of the true expression of your being. For wherever God is, there heaven is, whether heaven has as yet taken full form or not. We are not looking for an already formed heaven, all complete, where we can settle back and say, “This is it. I will not have to do another thing. I have arrived in heaven.” Such a state would soon prove to be hell. How long would you like to have an opportunity to not do anything? Is there anyone here who would like to volunteer to not do anything for a week? Any of you here? You just do not want to do anything? If anyone wants to volunteer, I will put you to the test—we will even feed you. Well, if you can stick it out for a week without going crazy—you could not, you know, not do anything. You have got to do something if you are conscious. People say, “Well, I have not been doing anything.” Actually, they have you know. They were not speaking the truth. It may relatively have been accurate, but in actual fact, it was not the truth. If we did not have to do anything, if we did not have to think, if we did not have to work out any problem, if we did not have to face any challenge, if we did not have any responsibility, if everything was all done for you already, how soon would it be hell?

Any heaven into which we enter is one in which we must share the responsibility of giving it form, here or anywhere. So, there shall in no wise enter into it, anything that defileth or maketh a lie. There is your great opportunity. For all you have to do is go ahead and enter into it, and anything that defileth or maketh a lie will be squeezed out of you on the way in. It is just that simple and easy. You will not have to do it yourself. You will leave it behind. You leave behind a certain amount of refuse each day. Normally, it does not cause you any pain as it goes. That refuse that we should leave behind at any point along the way should be looked upon just the same way. Let it go, and you feel so much cleaner, so much lighter, so much more alive and vital and meaningful.

There shall in no wise enter into the ovum of your heaven that is at hand, anything that defileth or maketh a lie. But that ovum of your heaven at hand cannot be fertilized until you enter into it. And no one else on the face of the earth can fertilize it. No one else on the face of the earth can enter into it—you and you alone. So we might say, in relationship to it, that you are the sperm from Father God designated to fertilize that ovum in the body of Mother God. You and you alone can do it, and if you do not, it will not be done. No one else can do it for you. No one, here or anywhere—only you.

The former things shall pass away. They shall not be remembered nor come into mind. And when we begin to move into heaven at hand, we will not imagine that it should be this way or that way or some other way; but having entered into it, we share with God the work of giving it form, letting it gestate and develop and grow, until it shall appear. And when it appears, that is, when it is born, do you think that the job will be done then? I do not. Because the minute your heaven is born out from one womb, it will be born into another, and you will have something else to do, another cycle to go through. And just as the body grows in the womb of the mother through cellular division, cell after cell, cell after cell, each cell works out, in the same principle—there will be another cycle, another womb—from womb unto womb, even in heaven—never a point where you cease creating, never a point where you reach the absolute limit of that which can be done in relationship to your point in creation. No point of stagnation, no point of crystallization, no point where it is finished and done—for that which is finished and done must be buried. It does not belong to heaven.

And if you are identified with that which is of God, the centering of Being, and not with the things that must be done and must be acted upon, you will find it is very easy. And you will begin to realize that God does not require of you that which you have been trying to require of yourself. You have been setting something for yourself which God did not establish. You think you have to be something, do something, accomplish something, in such and such a way. God does not require of you all of the impossible things that you have been trying to require of yourself. You have made the way hard—not God. He has prepared an easy way. And those who think that the true spiritual life is a hard life do not know what they are talking about.

I have had people, here on Sunrise Ranch—in fact some back along the line who are within the sound of my voice now—who have come right out and flatly contradicted me to my face, and said they did not believe it. They think it is hard—and they are going to think it is hard, so hard! All right, it will be, as long as you think it is that way. It is not hard.

Do not contradict me with your lips,

or in your heart, or in your mind.

Listen to the Truth.

God does not require of you that which you have been attempting to require of yourself, which made it seem hard. God did not make it difficult. It is easy. And all of the things that you think beset you, that you will have to work out, the things that keep you from entering in or being what you ought to be—“I have this problem; I have that problem”—we do not have to have all the problems solved, and know all there is to be known or have all your questions answered, or any one of all these other things. It is so easy. It is so easy. It really is, if you will let it be. And then cycles begin to work. The law works. The automatic processes develop, and the whole thing unfolds. And you do not expect heaven to be a finished product when you arrive. As long as you expect heaven to be a finished product when you arrive, you will imagine that you must be a finished product in order to enter into heaven. But you cannot become a finished product except in heaven—and you will be a finished product only when you are born out of one womb, and you will land immediately in another—and you will not be a finished product.

Take it easy. Let it work, and stop trying to dictate to God how it shall be in you. Human beings have their reservations. “It is going to be like this. I require this, and that and the other thing. If it is not this way, I do not want it.” I have heard people say, “Well, if when I get to heaven, I do not find my dear dead mother there, just like I knew her, I do not want to go to heaven. If she is not there, I will go to hell.” And this wonderfully considerate son or daughter wants mother to be there, her little wizened self sitting in the arm chair rocking with a shawl over her shoulders, with all of her limitations. No. She will not be there like that anyway—human beings always establishing what they expect to find in heaven. And if they cannot see that they are going to get what they think they want there, they will go to hell—and they do. Concepts of all sorts barring the way.

And it is so easy—and it is now. You do not have to keep growing for another week or another six months or a year or two or three years. Of course you can postpone it for a while, and maybe get in a little later, if you think you are going to gain anything by staying out. But when you are out, you are not in, and what is not in is hell, because you are not where you ought to be. You can try to make it nice and comfortable and pleasing to yourself, and yet it will not be. You cannot produce a substitute for heaven that will satisfy you. Perhaps you ought to remember that. Try as you may, you cannot produce a substitute for heaven that will satisfy yourself. It cannot be done. So, we might as well enter in. We may as well do it now. If you just can’t—cannot be expected to do it tonight—tomorrow of course! And tomorrow you can say, “Tomorrow.” Each day, tomorrow. And how the tomorrows pass! When will it be?

God is ready. He has everything ready for you. He invites you to come, just as you are. And I suggest you meditate on that, and stop requiring of yourself what you think God is going to require of you before you enter in. For what is entering in, but movement into the ovum of your heaven at hand, where you can begin to share in the development of what is to be. But if you think to carry in the genes that would bring about congenital deformities in heaven, you are wrong. You cannot do it. You say, “Well, then, I am not ready yet, because I am sure I would not fertilize that egg just right.” Just go on in, and what does not belong will be left outside. It will not get in. There can in no wise enter in anything that defileth or maketh a lie. So let it be, now and forever.
