Having just shared Easter Day together, our concern has particularly related to the resurrection in a more specific and practical sense. As angels we have a part to play which has been defined as representing the Creator to the creation and the creation to the Creator, providing a connecting link. To bring it down to our most immediate field of responsibility, as angels we rightly represent God to the people and the people to God.

We were speaking about stature recently, Obviously, in representing God to the people, we acknowledge the reality of our true stature as Angels. It could be said that something large then is being represented to the people. However, when we represent the people to God it is just the reverse, isn't it? Here is something relatively small, as angels even—how large are angels in God? The vastness of God dwarfs the individual angel, of course. It could be asked as to how many angels there are in God. Of course this is utilizing dimensional terms to try to pin something down, which is in fact ultimately undimensional. But I think you can see the point, that as individual angels we are very small relative to God. Representing the people to God, we are also representing something that is quite small to God. There are those for whom we have a certain responsibility, whom we represent directly to God. But this, individually speaking, is only quite a small proportion of the people; and even if we took the whole of mankind, that would be a rather minute representation to God, if we take into account whatever there may be present in the universe as a whole. So our stature is large relative to the people, and our stature is quite small relative to God.

We might take a look for a moment at the large stature relative to the people. As angels, we do not wish to behave in a brash manner. At the same time we should never deny our stature in our dealings and relationships with the people. It seems that very often emissaries have felt at a disadvantage somehow when working with people in the world. Possibly there is some lingering view as to what is meant when it is indicated that one should be spiritual. In the human view this means innocuous, unimportant, unnecessary. The attitude of human nature is that it can get along very well without anything spiritual, except possibly as some sort of an adjunct to human nature. If spiritual things can be used to advantage in what human nature wants to do, well let's include spiritual things. But it is all self‑centered, isn't it?

As angels, we are certainly not at any disadvantage with respect to people. Our stature is vast relative to the stature of any particular human nature. And while this should not make us conceited—it would only make human nature conceited, and this is angelic nature—we certainly would not deny our authority or our ability to handle what needs to be handled as angels. The Master never denied His own reality. Occasionally that seemed to get Him into hot water, but He was able to handle the hot water quite easily—no problem. As there is the greater emergence into expression of the angelic nature, we find ourselves at a considerable advantage in the world and in our dealings with people. We really know what it is that is going on, whereas human beings in the world have very little idea as to what is going on. They see things in a very restricted way. There is a very limited outlook and a great deal of uncertainty. Of course human nature puts on a good front occasionally, but let us not be fooled by that.

It has come to my attention recently in a number of instances where an emissary has had responsibility to work with certain patterns in the human nature state, and finding out how little the experts in that particular pattern, whatever it was, really knew. It was discovered that they were all completely at sea. It was a hopeless sort of situation evident, with perhaps a little hope here and there that it might get better after a while, but now there was scarcely any awareness as to what should be done. In one instance this came up within the school pattern in handling some particular child, which had for various reasons been expanded so that a lot of those who had some relationship to the school system and the psychological aspect of it became aware of this instance. The emissary was herself a teacher, and she was responsible for this child so she was in the middle of the situation, discovering that handling it as an emissary she was far more capable of dealing with things than anyone else in the pattern, even though they had all kinds of letters behind their names—psychologists and psychiatrists and this sort of thing, who really were completely buffaloed by the situation. They would like to do something but they didn't really know what to do.

Well, this is just an example of something to which I am pointing now in a more general sense: that as incarnate angels we are far more capable of handling what needs to be handled than anyone else is, no matter how much of an expert they may be. I'm not speaking particularly of some sort of technical expertise in which we might not be well‑versed. We don't all know what makes the TV go, for instance, or even nowadays, almost, what makes the car go. It's so complicated and abstruse you need a specialist to diagnose the trouble—and usually they can't either. But I am thinking of this more in terms of the handling of human nature, the handling of people. This is particularly evident, for instance, in the field of the handling of children—the educational area. But in all aspects of human nature function where people are concerned, we need to recognize that we ourselves have a far larger vision, a far greater understanding, than human nature people could possibly have. So we don't downgrade ourselves. I think it came as quite a shock, momentarily at least, to this particular lady that she was the one who could handle the situation. After all, there was this panel of experts there to take care of it. They couldn't—they really didn't know the first thing about it. But she knew, and she discovered in that situation that she knew. Let's not put the day off, so that we have to be presented with some particular situation before we will admit that we really do know. Why not admit that we really do know right now?

The pressure of our representation of God to the people—which is what it is—is not particularly in question at the moment, at least not in a specific way in the external sense. But the opportunities will arise certainly in the days to come, where all of you will be handling people and situations in a manner that reveals your capacity to represent God—God isn't silly and God isn't stupid. God understands what the situation is. If we represent Him, that is true of us. We don't need to bog ourselves down in some vast cosmic view and say, “Well I don't understand that.” That's not the point. Why would it be necessary to understand that? The only thing that is necessary is to understand the field of our own responsibility which, much of the time, is seemingly quite small. But occasionally we find ourselves projected into a situation where there are other people who are presumably supposed to be experts, but we find out that they are not, that we know a lot more than they do. They have all the book-learning which we may not have, but we have the understanding—and, consequently we do not take the attitude, “Let it be by the hand of another.” It's not “Let it be by the hand of another,” but “Let it be by the Word of God.” And we are on hand to speak the Word of God.

Now here again human beings have peculiar concepts about the Word of God—a sort of rolling thunder expression. But I don't think you have much acquaintance with the Word of God in that clothing; that only happens in movies, doesn't it, where a disembodied voice, an echoing voice, comes on the scene. That isn't really the way it works. That's fanciful imagination. Man was created with the voice mechanism so that the Word of God could be spoken on earth. And if the voice mechanism of man is not available to be used, the Word of God is not spoken on earth. But we are offering this mechanism for use, and so the Word of God can be spoken on earth because we are here and because we are handling these situations. And we don't have any concept that what we say must sound as though it was God speaking, because that would be pandering to human nature, wouldn't it? And it wouldn't go down very well with human nature either.

No, all that is necessary is to speak the words that are necessary and that are fitting in the situation as it arises, having an awareness that we are the ones to handle it. This doesn't mean either that we go barging in and pushing everybody else aside and say, “Well now I'm going to handle this!” We have no evidence that the Master ever did any such thing. He was quite discreet. However, when He found Himself in a situation, He did not deny His own reality. And He found Himself in a situation very often where the ball was tossed to Him. And we will find ourselves in such situations, partly because people want to test out, but partly also because there is an increasing awareness on the part of many that here is someone who could have the answer. So if the ball is tossed to us we handle it in whatever way may be fitting. We may hold onto the ball and provide what is necessary in a direct way. On the other hand it may be fitting sometimes to toss the ball back. The Master was very expert at this, so that those who were trying to put Him on the spot found themselves put on the spot.

What He said on such occasions has been clothed in a certain type of language, in the King James version of the Bible, which commonly we would not speak nowadays. That has tended to give a sort of aura which is deemed to characterize the words of God, as though we had to speak in Biblical language. No, we speak in the tongue that is now understood. We speak in tongues in this sense, so that those to whom we speak can understand us and can have the opportunity of receiving what it is we offer, without our engendering wrong reactions by what we say or how we say it. We learn to be very diplomatic on many occasions; we also learn to be very forthright on some occasions—whatever is fitting. And as we learn to offer what is spiritually fitting we are speaking the Word of God. This is the way by which what needs to be done on earth in our fields of responsibility may be done. We find that our stature is far greater than human nature stature.

Let us not ever try to inflate ourselves in human nature, blow ourselves up like a frog, because somebody is going to prick the balloon and then there is a sense of being shattered. On that basis one is always on the defensive. We are not on the defensive. We are just offering into every situation what is needed there. But our stature relative to human nature is great. We need to have a consciousness of this as our angelic nature emerges, begins to come forth. We are small before God, but we are large before people. Now, I would stress the fact that being large before people doesn't mean that we stand up and beat our chests. It just means that we reveal that we are capable. We are capable of doing whatever it is that needs to be done. We don't thrust ourselves forward, but when we find the ball is in our hands we carry it, we do with it whatever is necessary. But there needs to be this sense of stature relative to human nature, so that you are never intimidated by human nature. You represent God to the people—and you couldn't do this without being large. So there comes a consciousness of stature. It is enhanced by reason of the fact that one does find out, in various situations, that it really is true, that one has the stature. And, for some at least, there may be a little amazement to find out that one was so much more capable than everybody else in the human nature field. This is not to say that we may not find that there are those in the human nature field still who at the same time have some sensing of the reality of angelic stature. These people you will find work with you. Sometimes it will seem that the most unlikely people are the ones who work with you. The ones you have fingered as being the ones are not the ones at all. You let it prove itself out while retaining your own integrity and your own stature, your own sense of angelic nature.

So there is this largeness in the representation of God in one's own experience but smallness in representing the people to God. There is always humility before God. This obviously is representing the right attitude of the people toward God: you are humble before God, you are very conscious of your insignificance in God. But the fact of insignificance in God, because God is so limitless, in no way denies your stature in the world. We have that stature, we are responsible for it. This is related to the upward view and the downward view. There is another way this is sometimes considered—the inward view and the outward view. Now we can see how this inward view, when people look in, there is a tendency for them to think that they are looking toward something rather small. And when we look out it's this vastness: We live in a big world, and that big world goes on and on and on in a vast universe. We think of the largeness therefore as being external and the smallness internal, which, from our previous consideration, you can see is just the reverse of the fact. The smallness is external, the largeness is internal.

Perhaps we might see this in terms of a diagram that I was drawing before, only instead of starting with the largeness of the substance of love let's start in the middle (drawing) with the smallness of the physical level of things. This is the smallest part of the whole. We have seen this to some extent in the recognition that, when looking into the universe, the physical substance in the universe fills a minute fraction of the total space. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2022/10/trailing-clouds-of-glory.html] In other words the physical substance is the smallest aspect of the universe. Let us look at this little circle here as representing this planet, the earth. (Circles) Relative to that total figure the earth at the center is very small. Now we have seen that the substance of love in its pure essence fills and encompasses the whole dimensional world. We might look at this at any level. At the moment we are looking at it from the standpoint of the planet earth. Or we could look at it at the same time from the standpoint of our own physical bodies, represented by that little core numbered 1.

The outermost circle represents the substance of love—the undifferentiated substance of love that is present—and that is present everywhere from the circumference to the center. Every level illustrated by the circles that I have drawn is back of that first level. In fact all of the levels therefore are present relative to that little circle at the center. That is the place where the substance is richest—all the levels are there. That is the only place where all the levels actually are. Each level permeates the level below it and extends beyond it, and this is illustrated here. So do not let us think of the seventh level, the substance of love, as merely being a little strip around here. It isn't—it's right from here to the center. It's all‑inclusive.

We have noted that the level of the womb, numbered 6, which comes next, could be said—if we are considering the creative process—to be the residue which was of such a nature that it couldn't remain in the pure essence of the substance of love. In the creative process, fire is used as a symbol of what occurs. When a fire burns, ash remains; there is a residue remaining. As the fire burns in the pure substance of love, there is that which naturally falls into the next lower vibratory level, so that each subsequent level, as the fires burn, is the ash relative to the one higher, until we come finally down to the earth itself, which is the residue of everything that has happened in the creative process. We can see something moving, coming down from God in the creative process, but it isn't a one‑way street. There is the working of the creative fires and the residue which results therefrom. But when the whole thing has been done and these various layers of residue are there, is the creative process going to quit? What would be the point? You just have a lump of something. Of course it doesn't work, in any case, merely in one direction even from the very start. There is what is represented by Jacob's ladder, something ascending and descending. It's all going on at the same time. In other words there is a provision for ascension, so that the ash may not remain as ash.

We see something of this from the standpoint of the earth, the planet, if we at the same time consider what is known about some of the other planets. Clearly there is a means here on the surface of the earth, by which some sort of a transmutation is taking place. The mineral substance is being lifted up into what are considered to be animate forms of various sorts. There is an ascending process occurring. Substance is being lifted, the ash of the earth is being lifted into other configurations. And as it is lifted the nature of the flesh of the earth, which was before seemingly an inanimate mineral, now becomes something else, much more resilient and flexible, and the forms into which it is lifted become progressively more complex. Here is some evidence, at the initial level of transmutation, of what may be called ascension, the means by which substance is being resurrected so that it need not remain ash. This cycle of ascension is going on and we have a responsibility in this area.

We have been considering the resurrection. The womb may be said to be the means by which life is born. The substance of love was first necessary if there was to be the substance of the womb. There is nothing else but love substance, all the way through—love substance but at different vibratory levels. And the substance of the womb is the heaven in relationship to the life that is to be born. We find at every level there is a heaven involved—a connection. You may remember that the second day of the creative cycle described in Genesis spoke of the firmament, the heaven, the connection between the waters above and the waters below, between the truth above and the truth below—the means by which what is below may be brought forth. The heaven at any level is rightly a state where there is a particular atmosphere and a particular enfoldment and a particular control, by which the creative process may continue. All that indicates the presence of what is called truth. So there is a heaven connecting the substance of love above with the substance of life below. Now let us again not think that merely is this little strip (points to drawing). It is something that is in front of the seven and behind the five, and extending beyond it. There is One Heaven.

We may also see that this total area, including these three external “strips” plus whatever it is that goes to the center as well, is the Triune Heaven relative to this area here—one, two and three—what we have called the Triune Earth. On the other hand there is this four which is the connection between the two. What is above is spirit, present in the dimensional world. These three larger disks, we'll call them, represent spirit in the dimensional world. And the fourth disk, which is the level of the heart, represents the connection, the heaven, between what is above and what is below. What is below is the Triune Earth, the three lowest disks. We could look at them as disks or we could look at them as spheres. Spheres gives them another dimension, one inside the other. The visible earth is at the center. Insofar as physical vision is concerned, that is the only one that is visible. All the others are invisible. And if we were looking at the planet earth we might recognize the fact that it is much larger than the physical ash at the center. It could extend out to about the orbit of the moon. The human view of things, which is based in involvement with externals, always emphasizes the lowest level, so that the earth, the planet, is thought of as being the thing—but it's only one seventh of the thing. I'm not saying that all the various concentric spheres are regularly the same amount bigger than the one inside.

This is merely a diagram of something. But here is a whole. The waters above connected with the waters below by the sphere represented by form, which relates to the substance of the heartthe pure heart, if the creation is as it should be, the pure heart which is the window through which what is above can shine into what is below and therefore be present relative to what is below. It all is there back of what is below—it all permeates what is below, in any case. But if the fourth sphere is dense, cloudy, then the larger spheres are not known relative to the smaller spheres in the middle, relative to the earth and to human nature. So the concern is that the veil should be dissolved, the clouds should be dissolved, so that it all may be known as One. The smallest part of it is the earth. The smallest of us is our physical bodies. There is much greater stature than that. Now we see the earth as quite a large planet in fact, relative to the physical earth—much larger than the physical earth. However even if it is as large as the orbit of the moon in fact, that is very small still relative to the size of the solar system. So here we begin to see the symbol of largeness in one direction and smallness in the other direction.

Now this heaven, which includes the realms of what we call spirit in the dimensional world—seven, six and five—is the cool place, where there is a temperate atmosphere. It's a comfortable place for angels to dwell. And it is a place of control—this is the Kingdom. As the connecting sphere becomes a window through which the nature and quality of heaven may shine, it emerges into the three lowest spheres as the fire of transmutation. In other words, the hot place is the Triune Earth. Here is where the fire is burning in order to transmute the substance, beginning with the physical substance of the earth, into substance of a higher vibratory level. Here is the returning aspect of the cycle—ascension, something moving up. There is the process of transmutation at work in the earth. And this is the primary level of where the transmutation is occurring, so that there may be a movement upward, not as though the earth was going someplace. Now perhaps that might not be the concept with respect to the earth but it could be the concept with respect to the physical body of the individual, and has been, particularly in what is called Christianity. The physical earth is supposed to pop up out of the graves, for instance, and go to heaven someplace.

But there is no movement in fact in this fashion. It is a transmutation of the substance exactly where it is, not someplace else. And what is occurring may be said to refine, it's like a refiner's fire—a symbol that was used by one of the prophets in the Old Testament—a refiner's fire by which the substance is refined and changes its nature. We can see this in a very elementary way, as we have noted: the changing of the nature of the mineral earth as it is lifted into the bodies of living forms, whether vegetable or animal or whatever. The substance of the flesh of your body is different to a model of your body made in marble. It may be a very accurate piece of sculpture, exactly right insofar as your body in that moment was concerned. But there is a vast difference between that mineral structure, that inanimate structure, and your living body. The flesh of your body and all its various parts are composed of entirely different substance—it's a different quality, a different nature. So there has been that much transmutation in the experience of your own physical body from the mineral level—something has been happening.

It is assumed that it is in the nature of a circle: the substance is just lifted up into your physical body, it stays there for a while, and then bang, it collapses down into the mineral kingdom again. This is not exactly the way it works now, in fact, but it certainly is not the way it was designed to work in the original creation. In other words, it isn't a circle. There is a continuing movement upward, and whatever has been sufficiently refined to move to the higher level moves to the higher level. And what is not capable of moving to the higher level drops down to the lower level, so that it may be acted upon again by the creative fires in the refining process, and gradually it is lifted up. There is less and less left in the way of ash and more and more moving in the ascending spiral.

There is a transmutation occurring with respect to this total planet, not just with respect to the earth aspect of it, which is the very smallest aspect. There is something happening with respect to this total planet—a movement upward; an ascending cycle is at work. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2019/10/transformation-and-then-transmutation.html] But since man left his position it has been a very slow and limited process. Everything has been at a standstill virtually. One of the prophets says something about this in the Old Testament—everything is at a standstill. It is not working the way it should, in other words, only partially so. And very little has occurred, since man fell, of the true creative process. It couldn't, because there was no man in place to let it happen.

This outlines something which is incapable of being encompassed by the human mind, and if you have been trying to do that you got kind of sleepy. But it is something that is happening, whatever words may be used to describe the process, of which it is necessary to become increasingly aware. Here is something actually occurring with which we are associated. If we tend to sort of blot it out of our experience with the idea that mentally speaking we can't grasp it, then we certainly can't participate in a way that is going to be of any value in the process itself, for which we carry a very definite responsibility. As angels we carry that responsibility, and we are here to let that responsibility be fulfilled. As we move together these things naturally will clarify themselves to the extent that we are willing to let it be so, willing to let the Word of God be spoken in our own individual and collective experience.

Something is going someplace! It hasn't been going there as easily and as rapidly as it might because we have been in this sluggish condition of what is referred to as the fallen state. But there is the ascending cycle at work, even though it isn't working the way it should work. It is limited and restricted, and a lot more is descending than needs to descend in the true state.

Eternal Identity — Eternal Name

Human beings find it difficult to comprehend the reality of the Divine Design, and they imagine that if they are going to relinquish man's substitute patterns everything is going to go wrong, that there will not be anything right, that the rightness of things depends upon man's substitute patterns. Even though we cannot immediately and clearly comprehend all of the factors involved in relationship to God's Design, we do need to begin to realize that when the time comes—which is not yet; let that be clear: which is not yet—but when the time comes when the control begins to manifest from the standpoint of heaven on earth, the relinquishment of the man-made patterns of design will not produce chaos, for God's Pattern is infinitely better. To clearly portray that better pattern is something that cannot be, in all respects, done at the present time. We can perhaps, as there is dedication in centering, begin to comprehend something of it, at least with respect to basic principle. But actually that is enough, because we are under the necessity of functioning on earth under these conditions. But these conditions make for us our problems and our opportunities.

Now, who are those who will work together in the outworking of that Divine Plan in the Heavenly Realms, the Invisible Realms? You can see how utterly futile it would be for us to even attempt to suggest an answer to that question. What is it that determines in Heaven, and will determine on earth when Heaven is on earth, or when we let the Kingdom of Heaven that is at hand be on earth? We recognize that the God Being, your Lord within you, is eternal and has Eternal Identity.

Some people imagine that when the God Being leaves the body that that God Being, at the time of death, carries the identity of the human being—John Jones, or something—and that that Being that left the body is John Jones in heaven, which is not the case. The human beings who have died do not exist anymore. Those patterns of identity are gone. They are gone. Where there was ascension it was ascension out of the human identity into the Eternal Identity of the God Being.

We could say that a God Being has been living for millions and millions of years—just a segment of Eternity, so it is more than that. But so we can comprehend something of it, a God Being has been living for the past ten million years, we will say, having a certain identity. The God Being had that identity probably before that. Sometimes names do change however, as patterns of focalization are changed.  But for ten million years this God Being, or Lord, focalization of Deity, has had a specific identity, and now that God Being comes along, incarnates in you, and your outer body has an identity that man gave it. Somebody thought real quick and tagged you with a tag when you were born, and that is your name. And then they suppose that when the body dies and the God Being goes to Heaven, with whatever may ascend with it, that it takes along the identity of the human being, and they imagine that when they get to Heaven they are going to see a person of such and such an identity that they knew on earth. The human identity was left behind on earth—always.

When the God Being that is in you gets to Heaven, that is, leaves this body, do you think now, with your outer mind, “Well I will be looking for my mother,” we will say, “or my father, or my uncle, or my aunt, or my friend, my husband, my child,” or something? “I will be looking for little so-and-so,” or “I will be looking for so-and-so.” You won't! Because when you leave behind the limitations of this present body you will know others by their identity, and you will be known by the identity that you have had for millions of years; there will be no confusion about the identification that was established in this little span of time, this moment of Eternity on earth, because when you, in the Inner Sense, return to the Invisible Realms, you will be known by the identity by which you have always been known. It will not be your present name, and you will not be looking for the identities of the people that you think that you will be looking for, because you will know them all by their names that they have had for millions of years and this little pattern of momentary identity that is used for convenience here on earth will not mean a thing. You will know that One, male or female, yes. It is not that you will not know that person.

I have heard people say, “Well when I get to heaven, if I don't find my mother just like she was when I was on earth, when she was on earth, I don't want to go there. I would rather go to hell.” I have heard people actually say it. Well they won't. But of course what leaves the earth will not be bothered. What is bothered will go to hell; that is, to the grave. What is hell? Most of the words that are translated in the Bible as “hell” simply mean the grave, that's all. You go back and consider the words from which they were translated. Now, of course, there is a hell on earth, which some of you have noticed. But the hell under the earth is simply the grave and nothing more, the place where the dust returns to the earth and the identity is gone; for what returns to the earth must await the second resurrection; which is to say, the first resurrection takes place in the body while you live, and what is not resurrected into the reality of Deity during that period of time goes back into the earth—refuse day by day, or the refuse at the end of the life span. And then that refuse, whatever it may be, must be picked up by vegetation, first. Until it is picked up by vegetation it cannot begin the cycles of resurrection. Sometimes they seal these ashes, or something, in a lead vault, and they say, “Well all of these little particles of dust are going to be there when Gabriel blows his horn. He will get this open, but these ashes won't be scattered; he won't have to go looking for them all over the country.” But you see, Gabriel and his horn are not going to be in the slightest bit interested in what is in that lead cask. So, the only way that substance that goes back into the earth can begin the cycle of resurrection is to be picked up by the vegetable kingdom, picked up out of the soil. And then it goes into the animal kingdom. Perhaps it is a blade of grass. You have a cow and the cow eats the grass. Maybe you get it when you drink a glass of milk. Maybe you decide to butcher the critter and eat the meat. One way or another it finally gets resurrected up into somebody's human body.

Now, in actual fact you cannot take a bite of food without helping to resurrect somebody's substance back along the way. Every day you are working in relationship to the second resurrection. Well now, it won't bother you when it comes mealtime. Think of all the purifying processes God inaugurated. It came up through the grass—how clean that is!—up through the vegetation. The garden down there is a wonderful spot for resurrection. Anyway, how many billions of human beings do you think have lived on earth? Have you ever tried to count them? There are some two billion now, and there are—just here in the United States alone—new babies being born every nine seconds. People are passing away almost at the same rate—all of that going back into the soil. What was left of all of these billions and hundreds of billions is returned to the dust, and you share in the processes of the second resurrection. Until the substance is resurrected back into the human body it cannot have the chance to ascend in the sense of the God Being again. So there must be a waiting for the second resurrection if the first is not a reality in the individual.

I have used this pattern to help impress on your consciousness, subconscious aspects of function, and the basic fact that the identities known here on earth do not control in heaven. There isn't any need for marrying or giving in marriage in heaven, because that concept assumes that every Being that goes into heaven is a new Being somehow, is a “new soul”, they say. Some suppose there are new souls and there are old souls. Have you ever heard people talk about young souls and old souls? And did you ever ask them where the souls came from? They can't tell you. They may have some fantastic idea or other, but it is rubbish—just plain rubbish, no sense to it. It doesn't hold true to the patterns of Being at all. Don't be confused with the issues of old souls or young souls. If you are going to use the word “soul,” mean fundamentally the human being, and if you mean that, well, then the baby is a new soul and the older we get the older we are as souls. Some of us are beginning to think we are old souls.

But that which is in the body is not of this human pattern of concept. It is the reality of Being, your own God Being, and the vibrational patterns of relationship have long been established in heaven. If you belong in a certain pattern in heaven, when you leave this sphere of things you will be in that pattern, period, no matter who was your husband, wife, uncle, child, or something else, here on earth, and you will love it. If you think, “Well I would like to have some other pattern,” you are trying to project a human concept into the realm of Divine things, when you don't know anything about it. You will have the right relationships there.

Now in the Divine Plan those right relationships in heaven should manifest on earth, but man is so confused and is so thoroughly mixed up that it is not once in a hundred million times that you have, seemingly by chance perhaps, a right relationship on earth. We do not have right relationships on earth in this sense. I am not suggesting that everyone should rush out and get a divorce, if you happen to be married. Not at all, because you probably could not improve on the situation any, and it might be worse. I am simply pointing out something that is beyond the range of our present level of function.

And here is the big promise, especially for those who are the younger people.  If they have what it takes, they can hold steady under the Law and let the right pattern work out now, because the very fact that you are on earth proves that the right pattern is on earth for you if you let it manifest now. Human minds are inclined to jump to the conclusion, then, that that means, under God's Design, that if there is a woman there must be one man for that woman, and one woman for that man, and there it ends, that finishes it. But it doesn't. It is man's concept, man's belief, man's approach to the problem, that assumes that from the standpoint of the Divine Design marriage should mean just one man and one woman being together forever.

Now that can open up some fields of questioning that I would like to leave dormant for a while, until you have some more expansion in consciousness, because we cannot possibly at this present point examine all factors that are involved here. But we can trust that God's Design is right. The point I am making is that, from the standpoint of things in heaven, from the standpoint of things in God's Design, the way it ought to be and the way it is, where man has not been able to interfere with it, there are more female aspects of Deity than there are male aspects of Deity.  Now everyone has been inclined to suppose that if there was a female God Being there was a male God Being, and that was the way it was all up and down the line.  But that is not the way it is. I am pointing out that there are vibrational patterns of being which the human mind as yet simply has not reached a point of comprehending.

Perspective  Vision

Uranda   April 17, 1953  Class

Our last meditation together was with respect to certain fundamentals in the field of the Blueprint as revealed in the Book of Revelation. This Blueprint is clarified over and over again in many, many different ways through the entire Bible. Our consideration of the beginnings of the manifestation of the First Sacred School, or the beginnings of the manifestation of Abraham and the children of Israel, provides us an opportunity to understand the great significance of this Blueprint. There is an old saying that hindsight is better than foresight. With the limited human consciousness this is so, but from the standpoint of divine consciousness, divine vision, it is not so, and as we learn to function according to the Divine Design under the control that is inherent in truth, we find that the recognition of the right pattern of action, or right-useness, is present at the moment, and we can see the shaping of things to come.

When we look back, however, on the basis of limited human consciousness, we can well understand how the men and women who lived in the long ago had only their capacity to perceive the spiritual pattern to go by; they did not have an antecedent pattern; they did not have an outline of someone else's previous experience. The consciousness of what happened in the Motherland had degenerated to a few legends and myths, and in any case was not widely known. The records with respect to what happened, the records which were preserved, had not yet been found.

We might pause for just a moment to help you correlate on this point, because the records that were stored in a specially built Temple, the records from which the early part of the Book of Genesis, for instance, comes, were placed in safekeeping by certain of the Naacal Sages prior to the submersion of Atlantis, so that there would be a connecting link in outer form for those who should follow after. It was not until the time of Moses that these records, in the ruins of this Temple, were found. This is part of the significance of the experience of Moses, who was in the wilderness herding sheep for forty years.

Later on we will study more specifically the outworking and its significant aspects. But Moses was forty years of age when he killed an Egyptian who was belaboring one of the Hebrews, and he decided that he should leave that part of the country, after committing murder. So at the age of forty he went out into the wilderness and became a sheepherder. I think that this is another evidence of God's careful preparation of those who are to accomplish much under the inspiration of the spirit. A sheepherder learns patience, he learns gentleness, he learns careful alertness. And later on, when he was the shepherd for the children of Israel, he certainly needed all of the patience possible to him. On one occasion he became impatient and spoiled one of the Divine Patterns. But he needed patience; he needed to learn to protectively care for the flock. And so for forty years he practiced on sheep, before God turned the children of Israel over to his care.

Now it is not anticipated that you will have to be in training and under practice for eighty years before you begin your ministry. We recognize that Moses was a very well-educated man. He had attended the finest schools and universities in Egypt and they had a real educational program, very remarkable in many ways. He had lived in the court of Pharaoh; he had functioned as one of the princes of Egypt and had had every worldly advantage. He had a fine mind; he had a knowledge of languages; he was an educated man. So that first forty years of his training was very essential.

And then came the second forty years of training. As a sheepherder? Yes. But more than that. As he wandered with his sheep, seeking the best pastureland for them, it was not far from Mount Horeb where he found the ruins of an old Temple. It was a place where he could keep his sheep a good deal of the time, and there was water and pastureland. And so he began excavating, as opportunity afforded, in this old Temple. He began uncovering whatever might be found there, and he discovered some records. Some of the records had been damaged and could not be deciphered, but the records that had been left there so long ago under the care of the Naacal Sages were found by Moses, and the specific means by which he was enabled to find them was through his function as a sheepherder.

The information we have with respect to the creation of the world, for instance, the story of the early outworking of the world as it appears in the Bible, came from those records; likewise the story of Job. The Book of Job was in these records in the Temple and was translated by Moses and made available to us. Many of the poems which later became Psalms—many of them attributed to David—were among those records which Moses found and translated and made available. David did round them out perhaps a little in some instances, he did set them to music, he did make them popular with his singing, etc., but the Psalms, broadly speaking, did not originate with David as is supposed, but rather they came through Moses’ work of excavation and discovery and translation. Likewise the material which comes down to us as the Song of Solomon. It was by Solomon rounded out, given form, from the ancient records which Moses had established, Moses’ early translation. But while it was Solomon who gave the record specific form and some popular position, shall we say, the Song of Solomon was among the records which Moses translated while he was herding sheep in the wilderness.

We begin to see that a great deal of that which is of value to us in the Bible came to us by this means. And after Moses had discovered the ruins of this old Temple and began to translate and give form to these records in a manner which would make them available to us today, he was of course extremely interested, and he studied this material diligently. He lived with it; he was out there with his sheep, and the spirit of it began to penetrate into his heart and mind and consciousness. So he had a number of years in which to do this work.

There is no Biblical story to support what I am outlining to you, so you can accept it according to your own determination of consciousness. But in any case, that is what happened. There were basic principles from the standpoint of the outline of the Divine Plan which later became incorporated in the Books of the Prophets, particularly Isaiah, Ezekiel and Daniel. So the very foundation of our Bible, in recognition of God's laws and principles and patterns of operation, was made available to us from these records by reason of Moses’ discovery and his ability to translate, his ability to get them in form so that they could come down to us as they have. Some of the records were lost, but once we begin to see this pattern of Divine Provision, once we begin to understand God’s care and the outworking of the Divine Pattern, we can recognize our great opportunity, our great responsibility.

But at the time of Abraham these records had not yet been discovered. Abraham did not have all of this material to study, read or consider. He did not have an outer awareness of the former things. It is true that Melchizedek did give him certain instruction and information, but you will have to recognize that if the disciples—earnest, sincere men—found it so difficult to actually comprehend what the Master was teaching, when they did have the background pattern of experience with respect to the children of Israel, you can perhaps more easily understand the problem as it confronted Abraham. He was instructed, but the background of experience was lacking. And so we emphasize again the point that, with human beings, hindsight is, under limited consciousness, better than foresight.

The disciples did not take full advantage of that which had been experienced by the children of Israel, that which was taught and made known. The Master used that material as text material in the presentation of His teaching; He revealed how these truths were there and that it was simply a matter of recognizing them and allowing them to come to focus in relationship to God’s Plan and purpose. But even though there was that background pattern for the children of Israel, and even though they were privileged to live and serve under the greatest Teacher the world has ever known, they simply did not reach the point of understanding what the Master meant by “the kingdom of heaven that is at hand.” And so it is not surprising that the orthodox concepts of Christianity have come down to us on such a limited basis. But we have a remarkable opportunity.

We not only have a Blueprint, an outline of things yet to be with respect to the Divine Pattern, but we have two great cycles of outworking to give us background understanding: the situation as it developed with respect to the children of Israel, the First Sacred School, and the outworking with respect to the Master on earth and His disciples, and what followed. We can look back to two different patterns. So how blest we are, in comparison with Abraham. When we consider the extent to which he, under that circumstance, followed through effectively, we cannot but admire him and give thanks to God that he functioned in such a beautiful manner. We can then see, perhaps more clearly, what I mean when I say we have a greater opportunity today, a greater privilege with respect to actually understanding the things of God, than had either Abraham or the disciples who walked on earth with our Master when He was here.

So often human beings feel that if they could have had that privilege they would be able to move forward more effectively, they would be able to comprehend more easily. You know, I doubt very much if you would have had any better comprehension than the other disciples. In fact, it is just possible that some of you, insofar as the True Being is concerned—not you the human being, not you the body, but you the Inner Reality—it is possible that some of you, maybe all of you, were incarnate at that time. I do not wish to go into a specific consideration of that point, but I do wish to emphasize that had you, as you are now, lived then, I doubt if you would have done any better than they did.

It is by reason of this outworking in the cycles of time, by reason of the changing vibratory patterns from out of the cosmos, by reason of many things, that you have a better opportunity than the disciples who walked with our LORD on earth. Consider, for instance, the expansion of consciousness and the increase in knowledge in the past fifty or one hundred years. They did not have that. What kind of a world consciousness were they dealing with? They were having to break out of the world consciousness of humanity. With us, while we may have to break out of it in relationship to certain religious matters, certain recognitions of spiritual principles, the overall pattern of the world consciousness has expanded and does not present the immediate limitation which was present at the time the Master was on earth.

Knowledge has been increased. We turn to study the physical body and its various marvelous mechanisms. Do you think that any of the disciples had the privilege of studying anything so filled with the possibility of understanding as this that you see on the blackboard before you this morning? The working of the human eye—just to mention one point. And we can take literature that is prevalent in the world, and within the scope of the world consciousness, and study such things and know that they are true. Some of the conclusions may be wrong but the basic pattern of understanding is there. So one of the greatest advantages we have over anyone in the period of recorded history is the fact that knowledge has been increased—not just for us but for all. And this manifestation of knowledge and learning is something that is widely recognized, widely influential.

So we are not in the position that Abraham was, and that the disciples of our LORD were, of attempting to work against the patterns of limitation in the world consciousness which did not have an awareness of such knowledge. They were limited people; they did not know these things. If you go back and actually consider their patterns of thought and life, the extent to which they allowed themselves to become narrow, prejudiced little creatures, content with, well, conditions which make us feel that we have advanced a long way, then we can see that all of these things put together give us the opportunity of understanding. And to the degree that you have that consciousness and awareness, you have a perspective within which to more deeply and clearly understand all of the things which we are studying together.

The Yearning For Visible God Assuaged

The  Yearning  For  Visible  God  Assuaged

Martin Cecil   July 3, 1983

Fitting music has a unifying effect, an effect which you yourselves know in this moment, whether you are at Edenvale or here in the Chapel at 100 Mile House. Noise has a disintegrating effect. Music could be defined as coherent sound; noise, incoherent sound. Most of what is known in the world is incoherent sound, or noise, which brings disintegration. Speaking of noise and incoherent sound, we may well be reminded of the story of the Tower of Babel. What a racket! We ourselves are quite familiar with the racket. In fact, in company with most others, we are inclined to take it for granted. What would it be if there was a world filled with music instead of noise? Of course there are those who try to make it so by clamping headphones on their ears and listening, to noise as a rule. This is supposed to shut out the disintegrative sound and bring coherent sound. But who knows what the coherent sound would really be? There are peculiar imitations which human beings have invented, limitations which stir the emotions and keep all concerned well trapped in the human state, certainly blotting out the music which otherwise might begin to be discerned.

There has been talk about the music of the spheres, something grand and awful I suppose; but it really comes quite close to home. It is the coherent sound of one’s own true being. If, through the six senses, we invite in all this noise, it obliterates what otherwise might be perceived; chiefly because the person needs something to mute the discordance in his own experience. Why would it be a discordance? Why would we wish to blot out what rightly is coming forth from heaven into expression in one’s own field of spiritual living and responsibility? Instead of letting that happen there is the inclination to try to gather in something which activates the six senses and disturbs the heart. The disturbed heart is the impure heart, and the impure heart could never know the truth, could never know the reality of the Living God. Yet there is even a tendency amongst our number to insist upon maintaining the activation of the heart through the six senses. It is being done all the time in various ways. If we begin to discern the reality of our own being, then this is the fulfilling experience once it is brought forth in living. The sound shouldn’t originate in the noise round about, but in one’s own true spirit, so that life becomes coherent; one might say a dance to the rhythm which is describable as “coming down from God out of heaven.”

We have had the experience this morning of some music. We have ourselves participated in it, shared the expression of it—coherent sound, so that we might have an increasingly coherent experience which is unification, oneness. There is a yearning in human hearts for the experience of oneness. Most people try in their foolish ways to produce it, as though it didn’t already exist. Inadvertently it is sometimes knownan evidence of somethinga yearning in human hearts for Visible God. This is interpreted in a way that makes it acceptable. Certainly there is very little conscious awareness of what the yearning really is, but when someone is found who in some measure fills the bill of human expectation, then there springs out the experience of delight.

Of course Visible God tends to be interpreted initially as relating to someone else. There must seemingly be a figurehead, a representation, in which to center one’s loving expectations, simply because there is this yearning in human hearts for Visible God. And the first touching of Visible God comes in representation because of someone other than oneself. This has centered in the one called Jesus, insofar as the Christian world is concerned, but all He could be for everyone was a point of representation. His representation may have been true, real, but it could only be acknowledged and accepted by others on the basis of a representation of something for the person who was acknowledging it. He didn’t cause anyone to know God—the fact of the necessity of what was called belief was emphasized at the time when this man was on earth—but here was necessarily the first step. It was impossible, at the beginning point, for anyone to experience the truth of knowing, because their expression in life was far from divine. So the only way that contact could be made was by reason of representation. It seems to have been taken now that that was all that was necessary, the representation. It certainly was provided. Many, many people over the centuries have had the opportunity of letting it come into their own experience of knowing, but apparently very few have. The representation was considered to be sufficient, something seemingly external to oneself.

This is all that can be experienced by human beings in the state in which they find themselves: “under the veil,” in an imaginary world, the world which at best is only half a world—far from even that. There is another half to be experienced. You will recall that man put himself out of the Garden long ago; at least this is the analogy that is used to indicate how man separated himself from himself, so that he was only a fraction of a person. The primary aspect of man is then describable as being the other side of the veil. People have been trying to get through the veil, one way or the other, but that isn’t the way it works. You can’t get through the veil. There was “a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” This being so, the Tree of Life must still be there; the Garden is still there. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2024/01/the-garden-called-to-remembrance.html] It is just human beings that don’t know it, because they have established for themselves this peculiar state of separateness. If the restoration of human beings to the true state of man is ever to occur, obviously the state of separateness must be dissolved; the veil must be dissolved, so that what is the other side of the veil may be found to be present this side of the veil.

It is not that we should somehow try to take up our trappings here and move through the veil into some other state, but to allow what is present already, but hidden by the veil, to be experienced here, where we are now, because the veil has been dissolved. It is a matter of heaven coming down from God into the earth; not trying to push the earth into heaven, because obviously if we were able to succeed in that futile task it wouldn’t be heaven anymore. The only safe way for it to happen is for heaven to come into the earth, and then that transforms the earth.

So we share this vision and responsibility ourselves, but we also recognize that there is a yearning in human hearts everywhere for the experience that has been lost, the experience of the oneness of heaven and earth, the Garden experience. It is impossible to force our way into the Garden; it can’t be done. The only thing left is to let the Garden come where we are, and this is and has been our concern with respect to our own individual personal experience. But we see the fact present in the hearts of masses of human beings who yearn for what they sensed was lost, and they have also a sensing that in order to re-experience what had been known Visible God must be found. The finding of Visible God is only in representation, in symbol. It can only be done that way as long as one is in the state of this darkened side of the veil, because the experience of God has been excluded; that is what makes the state the way it is.

So the first step always is: Visible God in representation. Perhaps human beings misinterpret that. They misinterpret it by accepting visible symbols which are not necessarily true symbols. The opportunity was provided to accept a true symbol in the person of Jesus. There is the claim that He was the Son of God—the question is, “Who isn’t?”—but He was the Son of God, who revealed the fact in symbol. He revealed the truth which is for everyone, not just for Him. Well, we realize this, but still we are subject to our addictions, human habits. The first thing we tend to want to do is to accept a visible symbol of the Invisible God, as though that was all that was necessary. It is necessary as a starting point.

So the visible symbol must be present to start with, not merely in imagination but in in fact, in the present moment. Obviously the visible symbol was present in fact nineteen centuries ago. But that, fortunately or unfortunately as the view may be, isn’t the present moment. The present moment is now, and there must be the visible symbol now. Well we have had something of a recognition of this, but we have also realized that belief in a visible symbol is not enough. It is a starting point, but the reality described by the word God cannot be known until it is individually expressed. We know what we express. If God is expressed we know God; if He isn’t we don’t. We may believe in God but that doesn’t get any sort of a job done. It could lead in the direction of knowing. If there is the visible symbol, and it is a true one, then there is the expression of that visible symbol. We have described that as the speaking of the Word. It is more than words; it is living, the expression of life characterized by love and truth. That provides a true symbol, and there is a certain delight in finding a true symbol. We would have to acknowledge that, because that is the best that anyone can know at the moment, until it goes beyond that, but only after the symbol has been accepted.

We know very well that the symbol provided by Jesus was not accepted; it was very directly and forcefully rejected. People have been fooling themselves on this point for a long time. They tried to pick up the pieces afterward and say, “Well now we believe.” But it doesn’t do any good, because there must be a present symbol. They effectively got rid of that symbol. There must be a present symbol, but the symbol is never enough. It just provides what is necessary to awaken an awareness, in the heart of the one who recognizes the symbol of the truth, to the Tone, which needs to find expression in their own living. And until that factually does find expression in one’s own living it is impossible to know God. You cannot know God second hand. You cannot know Him because of somebody else, even Jesus. There is a symbol representing each person. He knew God; insofar as He was concerned He wasn’t a symbol to HimselfHe was Himself, expressing the truth. That is the only way that the truth can be known. Most people think it can be known because they find someone whom they trust sufficiently, after a fashion, and ask them. “You tell me the truth.” Well that person, if he is indeed a true symbol, can express the truth, and in expressing the truth he knows God; but that doesn’t make God known to anybody else.

One must do it for oneself to know the same thing, and that is the whole point, and the point that has been so thoroughly rejected in what has been called Christianity: “Let’s just maintain the symbol; that is all that is necessary.” The symbol may sometimes be enshrined in a building, a church; an altar, for instance. There is a good symbol! Maybe. It isn’t entirely adequate, is it? It just sits there. It doesn’t do anything! No creative action. That is hardly God. Where does the doing appear? Well through a person presumably, someone who is a living expression of the truth: Visible God. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2018/09/from-visible-god-martin-cecil-may-29.html] This is the whole reason and purpose of man’s existence; he has no point otherwise. And he has discovered a pointless existence. Because of that there have been very ingenious ways of trying to make it seem to be sensible and rational and accomplishing something. But it really doesn’t. We have a world full of death symbols.

Where is the Living God? The means by which the Living God is made visible has been out to lunch, stuffing his own insides, trying to get satisfaction from the world of his six senses. Well there are all sorts of good things there, aren’t there, goodies of all kinds. There are goodies and baddies, fruit of the forbidden tree I am told. Most people are trying to get goodies, right? Did you ever exercise yourselves in that search for goodies? Do you still exercise yourselves in that way? “What is going to be satisfying to me? How am I going to get something into my heart that is going to fill me up with a good feeling?” Do you think the universe is operating so as to give you a good feeling? There is a great deal of conceit in human beings, isn’t there?

No, we are capable of expressing the truth in our own individual living; and unless we do that we don’t know the truth, we don’t know God, we don’t know nothin’! That is the fact of the matter. But the first dawning awareness of something comes because there is someone around who seems to fill the bill, for the moment, of that unconscious yearning for Visible God. There is an unconscious awareness of the fact that Visible God has been missing but should be present. Visible God is present when all concerned are revealing the truth in their own living; otherwise He is excluded. If we insist upon revealing other things, as most people do, well God is excluded, we are under the veil, we are in the darkness, and it is a miserable business—tribulation of all kinds, conflict.

So we come again to the responsibility, the individual responsibility, of revealing the truth, of speaking the Word, of being Visible God. There are those who begin to awaken to this; presumably Emissaries have, after a fashion; they have sought to let it happen. Very often they imagine that when it does begin to happen one becomes capable of knowing everything and we have some examples of people who have given an air of knowing everything. But no individual knows everything. If there was an individual who knew everything, well what would be the point of all the rest of us? No, we all have a certain measure of understanding and knowing that is right and proper, but it isn’t isolated. I would say that the majority of anyone’s real knowing and understanding is far more dependent upon the knowing and the understanding of others than upon his own personal knowing and understanding. After all, that is only a little point for the expression of truth. But if everybody else is functioning correctly, then there are vast numbers of other points of truth which need to be taken into account, allowed to coordinate with one’s own point of truth. So often a person will get the idea, “Well now I know. I cannot be told anything; I don’t need anybody else. It is all coming forth from me; I know everything that needs to be known.” Well that is true in a manner of speaking, but misinterpreted as a rule.

We know what needs to be known, not only from the standpoint of what is coming through oneself but from the standpoint of what is coming through a number of other people. Sometimes we consciously have an awareness of what it is that is coming through others; we sit down and discuss things at times. But there are a lot of other ways of being a part of the whole. Most of the coordination in the whole is subconscious. There are those things we know for ourselves, but let us never take the attitude, even if one has the assurance that one is really a son or a daughter of God, an angel incarnate and in expression on earth, that one knows everything, you don’t need anybody else to tell you anything. Then you are thoroughly isolated, aren’t you? That is separateness. That is not the truth. So a person who functions on that basis is not functioning on the basis of something coming down from God out of heaven but something rising up out of the earth, which makes his ego swell: “I am very important now; I know everything.” No, we stay humble, because we know very well, as angels of heaven, that we don’t know everything. We are not required to know everything. How could we?

How many angels do you suppose there are? Well I don’t think we would venture to say. Plenty. We know there is a roomful of them here and at Edenvale, but that is not all. Oneness, wholeness, is the truth. And so always there are others who have something to contribute to the truth which we ourselves know, to round it out, to flesh it out, to make it truly rational and coherent. So we don’t get swelled heads. We stay humble, because we know how little we know. But we are delighted that other people know something too. That is a great help, particularly when it is the truth.

So our knowing increases to the extent that the truth is being expressed by others. Therefore our concern is to assist in whatever way we may, so that others may express more of the truth. It isn’t so much a matter of saying, “Well I have got to work with myself, so that I can express more of the truth. Then I’ll know it, then I’ll eventually know it all.” Never. It could never happen. No, we are delighted to do what we may to assist as many as possible in the creative process by which they move beyond the symbol to the personal experience of the reality themselves. It is the only way it can be known. And as we let it be known, Behold, Visible God!

Visible God is then present for others; but only as a symbol to introduce others to the truth which must, if it is to be known, find expression through them. So it is never an exclusive thing, is it?—“Ah, we have the truth.” Who has the truth? Nobody has it. But we are capable of expressing it, and then we know what needs to be known. And when we do express the truth we realize how little we really know and therefore how important it is that others should be on hand who know what we don’t know. Then it all fits together, it becomes coherent. There is One Body, after all. Oneness, wholeness, is the truth. Anything other than that is a lie. Never let your sense of self swell with your great knowing of the truth. It is a very, very little thing, even if it is complete for you. We need each other.

I rejoice in the fact that you are here this morning, gathered at 100 Mile House and at Edenvale, because my knowing can increase because of this. If I have something that strikes a chord of response in your hearts I don’t take that as though what it is that strikes that chord is simply me. It is what is coming out of you. Let the heart be purified, that it may be in position to receive the symbol, to start with—that is a necessary point. The symbol is here. We all participate rightly in that symbol: Visible God. We don’t go around making great claims: “I am Visible God; look at me.” What nonsense! It is something that occurs in human hearts.

A pure heart, an open heart, a yielded heart, is obviously necessary. A disturbed heart is very destructive. We have heard that nothing should enter in that defiles, or works abomination, or makes a lie. Do you take that idea seriously, really? so that nothing actually does enter in that would do that? Or do you allow things to come in so that you are disturbed? I am sure you do at times. What are you going to do in such case? You had better do nothing, because what you do will be very dangerous. And we, who have had this extended blessing and opportunity to let our hearts be purified, find that the destructiveness of heart disturbance comes quickly. Don’t let it happen. If it does begin to happen, calm down. Don’t do anything, because whatever you do will be unfortunate. Let it come to rest, let it balance itself out, so that the heart is stable. Then the truth can be known, and one may move easily and naturally to give it expression. But you don’t know anything when the heart is disturbed. That is when human beings think they have really clear vision—they are full of resentment, anger, because of this and this and that, and the other thing, and they see so clearly! It is all nonsense. They don’t see anything as long as the heart is disturbed, except what comes by reason of a disturbed heart.

So we share this morning, in these moments together, that we may ourselves, individually, be consistent in our spiritual expression of the truth, thereby providing a symbol of Visible God for others. We don’t need the symbol. We are the truth in expression—no symbol required—but others need the symbol, that in them there may be an activation of the truth in their own hearts. Then perchance, it being activated, they will let their lives be conditioned by it. And so the truth emerges into expression—not all that clear and beautiful as it should be, but as much as is possible at the moment. Anyone who is letting this happen is on the way and should not be judged. How do you know what should happen while this process is proceeding?

So we share the responsibility of this process, in our own experience. Then we may provide a clearer, more exact, absolute symbol of Visible God on earth. Only so is this yearning in human hearts given the essential point of orientation which may allow that yearning to be fulfilled; not because they suck it in from somebody else, or from somewhere else, but because they naturally give it expression into their own living, to the Glory of God.

I have indeed seen the potential present in each one and had reverence and respect for that over the years. Certainly it could not have been just a matter of tolerating you: a job has to be done, so I will put up with the people who show up! No. Welcome! The welcome spirit has been offered, I trust, in my own expression, because there was the truth to be welcomed. One may feel perhaps a little lonely at times, simply in one’s own expression of the truth. There is the essential requirement of this little point to be filled out because there are many who are allowing the truth to be expressed, and then the more the truth is expressed through each one the more it is expressed through the Body which begins to form. And being expressed through the Body, it becomes the natural experience of all who compose that Body—no longer restricted to the rather insignificant amount of truth that may percolate through one person. It comes through many, and we have the privilege of enjoying this far wider scope because of each other.

If I have had a respect for your truth, and the increasing expression of it, I am sure that you would naturally have respect for the expression of this appearing through others, so that there may be a delight in the expanding outpouring of the Spirit of Truth. We all share in it then, to the Glory of God. Then there is the symbol, the Word being spoken, Visible God made manifest, for all whose hearts are open to receive it.
