The Sword And The Cup

The  Sword  And  The  Cup

edited excerpts

Martin Cecil  January 12, 1969

The state of man's consciousness has produced the state of the world around him. As long as the state of man's consciousness is conditioned by the world around him he cannot but participate in a process of disintegration. The world around man is the effect of the state present in his consciousness. When the state of man's consciousness is an expression of absolute cause, then the world around him will reflect that fact. These basic principles to which I have given form in words should be familiar to you, but you need to be so soaked in the water of truth that you find it impossible to dry out.

As long as human beings seek the answer in the world around them polarity has been reversed and the result is nothing. This search has continued in the attitudes of human beings all down through the ages: somehow the answer can be extracted from the environment, it is supposed. If it cannot be found in the immediate environment then we need to look further, and further, and further. But if we look far enough, finally it is anticipated that the answer must be found. But the answer is not in the realm of effects.  The answer is contained in cause.

I would like to meditate upon these matters this evening so that we may share something more vividly as to the true state of affairs. As a starting point, I have a letter here of response received a little while ago from Ted Black: “The eternal quest of human beings to discover in the environment the reason for their existence is parabled in the medieval legend of the quest for the holy grail.  Knights in shining armor (spaceships?) set off into the wilderness, sword in hand, to search for the grail, supposedly the cup from which Jesus drank at the Last Supper. However, this form of the legend is merely superficial Christianization of a very ancient ritual theme in which sword and cup are the basic sexual symbols. The picture is of the folly of man, the sword seeking the cup—man in subjection to that over which he is supposed to have dominion. When the sword is wielded rightly, the cup returns willingly to its rightful place. The head, or point, is anointed with oil (the positive expression of love in action) and the cup runs over (the visible fulfilment of the negative in true response). Nevertheless, the value is not in the contents of the grail but in the action of the sword, not in the effects but in the cause.”

I am particularly interested in the sword-cup metaphor. The sword represents the positive causative aspect of being and the cup the negative creative aspect of being. We have the same story portrayed through Adam and Eve. In man's upside-down world the sword is supposed to seek the cup. Here we have the representation of man, who is supposed to be the sword in the hand of God, trying to find the answer in the creation round about, seeking his fulfilment in the world around him. This is the cup being sought by the sword—the male chasing the female: man's eternal quest for the fulfilment that he thinks he is going to find in the world around him. Is it not the concept of the vast majority of human beings that somehow or other in the relationship between male and female fulfilment will be found? So it is sought that way, but it is never found that way. Obviously there is a right relationship between male and female; there is a right relationship between the sword and the cup.

In the story of Adam and Eve, Adam was created first apparently. The cause comes before the effect. Adam may symbolize the state of Divine consciousness which is the cause of the effects which appear in the world round about. The physical form of man is an effect caused by the Divine state of consciousness present, within which is what we call the Divine Design and the means of control. This is obviously so, if we observe the physical body of man, as long as life remains. There is a design to it, and there is a method of control which causes it to be operative. Eve represents the physical form, the effect. The physical form, by reason of the presence of Divine consciousness, develops a capacity of consciousness. This capacity includes what we call the senses, so that there may be an awareness of the world around. The body-consciousness in this sense permits the world around to be observed; it permits the effects produced by absolute cause to be seen. This opens the door to what has come to be known as the fall, because, observing the results of absolute cause round about, the feeling nature may be attracted to the effects which are so seen. They are desirable apparently, and therefore may become motivating factors in what the individual does. He acts to obtain the desirable result. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was much to be desired to make one wise. It was pleasing to the eyes.

So, the consciousness of man, instead of remaining the consciousness of Divine Being on earth, began to absorb from the realm of effects. The desirable things round about began to be the controlling element in experience, brought about by the fact that the body has sense-consciousness. As this occurred, Eve offered the fruit to Adam, so that man's capacity for Divine consciousness began to be filled with the state simply of what was conveyed through sense-consciousness. So the experience of Divine consciousness, true consciousness, was lost. Adam fell too. Now it is fortunate that it worked out on this gradual basis and it did not involve the immediate obliteration of the body, because thereby opportunity was extended, for a period of time at least, for the individual to return to the Divine state of consciousness. We are well aware of the fact that human beings generally didn't take advantage of that opportunity, and in that sense we are inheritors of their failure. But every generation has failed. Polarity was reversed. Sense-consciousness dominated. Divine consciousness was almost completely obscured. We are witness to the fact that it has not been completely obscured. We have a certain sense of something above and beyond what is considered to be the normal state of human experience. This human condition is a state that is way subnormal. But most people seem to accept it, and even though there may be some nudging from within themselves, they do their best to pay no attention to it, so that they may, if possible, be successful in the sense world.

Success in the sense world is measured by what one can obtain out of it, how much one can get—presuming that the more one gets the more one is likely to find the answer—because it is imagined that the answer comes out of the world around us. Therefore if we can gain the whole world we'll have, presumably, the whole answer. And so this quest is continued from generation to generation, but nobody ever found the answer. The very compulsion, Divine compulsion, in human beings has been used to keep human beings from finding the answer. It is said that hope springs eternal in the human breast. So he is eternally hopeful that he can find the answer in his environment, where it isn't, whereas the fact of that hope indicates that the answer is at hand, if he would only look where it is. If he has been looking where it isn't for all these thousands of years, it is surely about time that someone woke up to the necessity of looking where it is. We have found ourselves to be nudged in this direction.

The sword does not seek the cup. When the sword is returned to the hand of the one who rightly wields it, the cup returns to the sword. The creation was made by God and belongs to God. The link of man's Divine consciousness has been missing in this world, so the creation in this world has thereby been separated from God. The creation returns easily and naturally to God when the link is once again in place. Man tries to wield the sword and he is sure that the grail, or the cup, is somewhere to be found in the environment. But it is always being protected by the dragon. He has to slay the dragon to get to the cup, he thinks, and he has been busy slaying dragons for ages. But there was always another dragon behind the dragon—never the cup, never the answer, never the fulfilment.

The sword belongs in the hand of Divine Being; man belongs in the right hand of God. What was it Jesus Christ was supposed to have done? He went and sat down at the right hand of God. The consciousness of Divine Being on earth belongs in the right hand of God. This is the symbol of the sword which represents the positive or male aspect of Divine Being. It isn't an instrument of destruction in the hand of God. It is an instrument of destruction in the hand of fallen man. Perhaps we can see this destructiveness now in what is called the population explosion.  In the hand of God man is the only begotten Son of God on earth; he is the creative instrument on earth. The cup returns to the left hand of God when the sword is in the right hand of God, for here we see the representation of what we have called the creative triangle. There are positive and negative points at either corner of the base and there is the supreme positive at the apex.

The natural union of the sword and the cup occurs when the consciousness of man once again becomes the consciousness of God on earth. The consciousness of God on earth is a specific differentiation of the consciousness of God as this relates to the overall pattern of the cosmic scheme of things. The sword is in the right hand of God and the cup comes into the left. It is returned to the pattern of the Divine Design to function in balanced union with the sword. That is what has been called the restoration, or the salvation, of the world. Not just the salvation of man, but the salvation of the world for which man carries divine responsibility. All this symbolism has been present in the consciousness of man for ages past. The application of the sword and the cup to the Christian theme is merely making use of something that was present in the consciousness of man long, long before our Master was on earth. The symbols have been known, misused, and the truth consequently lost to the consciousness of man. Of course the truth can't be lost in fact. It's always been present, but unknown to man. God has been a mystery to man, just as man has also been a mystery to God.

We begin to see the truth of these things relative to ourselves, that we may be soaked in the water of truth thoroughly, that there may be a constant consciousness of one's own responsibility in the position of cause. That responsibility relates to the quality and the nature of one's own state of consciousness. The quality and nature of one's own state of consciousness will be dependent upon whether one is governed by emotional reactions and responses to the environment, to the world around one, or whether the government is of God. The government is of God when the feeling nature is open, yielded, to the quality of Divine consciousness. When Divine consciousness is supreme in one's attitude then the sword again begins to be returned to the hand of God. There certainly is no more looking for the answer in the world around.

I am a part of your world. Are you looking for the answer from me? If you are, you will not find it. You yourself are the answer. If you don't know that, you'll never know the answer. Human beings have recognized that Jesus was the answer, but has that provided the answer for anyone else? Not as long as they were looking to Him, because if they were looking to Him they were looking into their environment, where the answer isn't. The answer is experienced when the Divine state of consciousness is experienced, when you, at the center of your world, are permitting the sword to be wielded by the hand of God. You are not seeking the cup. If you are the sword in the hand of God the cup seeks you.

We find this distorted pattern in the function of men and women in the world. Men are supposed to chase the women, and the women enter into the game by extending lures of various kinds, and this nonsensical pattern of destructiveness has been dominant in the consciousness of human beings all down through the ages, dominating the consciousness of man. A man is going to find his fulfilment in a woman; a woman is going to find her fulfilment in a man. It isn't so! The answer is not in the environment. We have had those within the scope of our ministry, many who have never seen this. They have always been on the prowl, so to speak, anticipating that some sort of fulfilment is going to come out of their environment. What blindness. What stupidity. What have we been considering all these years? And still human beings go on blindly in their old ruts. Oh yes, it's nice to have spiritual ideas, but when it comes down to practical doing, “Well my fulfilment, I know where that is!” Do you? I trust you are beginning to remember where it is. It is in cause. As long as the serpent in the tree can persuade men and women to run after each other he has the world bound in the pit. The physical bodies of the male and the female are a part of the creation, they are a part of the effect. In and of themselves they are not causes of anything. They cannot cause fulfilment to appear for anyone. When fulfilment has been found in cause, then the effects will reflect that fulfilment, but that is an entirely different thing, because those concerned are not trying to get the fulfilment out of the environment from somebody else.

Man was created to be the sword in the hand of God on earth. The rest of creation is the cup. There is a proper union between man and his world. Man only has a true world when he is the sword in the hand of God. Then there may be a right union between man and his world, and the world will reflect the Divine nature of man. Amongst the elements that reflect that Divine nature are rightly the bodies, the physical forms, of men and women—just as a reflection, just as a result of a cause. The cause is the experience of the state of Divine consciousness. When that state of consciousness is experienced the results of it appear. But they do not appear because they are felt to be essential and therefore have to be arbitrarily produced somehow. They appear simply because they are inevitable when absolute cause is in effect.

The first great commandment is valid, but not really taken seriously, even by most Emissaries. They assume that they are able to judge good and evil. It is only possible to eat of that forbidden tree when there is a failure to love God, because loving God places man back into the hand of God, and he has no rights on his own. He is in the right hand of God. When the positive expression of true cause is on earth, because the Divine consciousness has been accepted, the cup returns. It is natural for creation to be one with the Creator when man does not keep Creator and creation apart.

What beautiful symbols have been provided for us in so many ways! Do you ever pay any heed to these symbols? Do you ever think on these things? Do you ever allow your consciousness to be filled with the truth of them? Or do you go along day by day without thought? Do you let the water be poured over you, or do you put up an umbrella so that you don't get wet? What abundance is present with us, all around us—it's been here all the time if we would look at it. And we have the keys, don't we? We have the keys to unlock all these doors. But nobody can do it but the person himself.

“Look no further, I am the answer.” That applies to you. If you are not the answer, you don't know the answer and you can never find it, never! If your world is to change to be a reflection of the divine state, it will change only because of you, because your consciousness allows absolute cause to be in action in the world where you are. That makes you, on that basis, of supreme importance. There is no one more important than you in your world when you take that responsibility. It is not what anyone else is going to do out there, it is what one does oneself that is the answer. How about being the answer!

The glorious provision of all things necessary is present with us, but how blindly we tend to pass these things by as though somehow or other the answer is going to drop into our laps from someplace else. Oh no, never from someplace else! just in the expression of oneself on the basis of the experience of the true, Divine state of consciousness, a consciousness which is uninvolved, uncontrolled by the world around. The way is so wide open. I thank God for you and others who begin to recognize the nature of that way. So there it is!

Man was created to be the sword in the hand of God on earth

At one time or another all of you have played hard to get! It is useless to chase people, because immediately you do that you have reversed polarity. The person who is being chased is in control. The expression is sometimes used, “Oh, he led me a merry chase.” Why be led that way? The only true sharing that is possible is on the basis of the working of the Law. The sword must be present in the hand of God. Insofar as the creation—other than man—is concerned there is no problem; but man has the ability to resist God, and has exercised this ability very extensively, become expert at it. He does it by ignoring God and being attracted to the things in his environment, and he is led around by the nose by such things. He is a slave to his world. We have the opportunity of providing the sword, the cause; and with things hotting up the way they are, people are being forced to choose. Of course the choice hasn't been very clear as yet, because the sword hasn't been very clear on earth.

When the sword is clear—the flaming sword which turns every way, keeping the way of the tree of life—then those who begin to see it, because it's clearly there, are close to the edge of the Garden, so to speak, close to the Gate, and it is there that the choice is going to be made. As long as people are way back in the bush somewhere, they can't see the sword, they don't know what's going on, and they can't make any intelligent choice. But when the sword becomes visible, then all who are in its vicinity are forced to make a choice. They are either going to accept the state of the cup or they are going to try to wield a sword in opposition to the sword, and there is no future in that. So the ground begins to be cleared on this basis. But it only begins to be cleared as there is the sword there, and the sword isn't there until those concerned have accepted the responsibility for themselves.

I have often posed the question: What would you do if you were the only one left of all those who have an understanding of the things which we understand, the only one left on earth? Would you be true to that in that situation? Or would you say, “Oh well, it's not worth it now”? Why wait for that situation to appear? It's a lot easier now. There's something else that I drew attention to recently: There is no moment when it is easier to do what is needful than now. It is never going to be any easier.

So when the sword is in evidence it is there because there are those who are the sword for themselves, and we find that we all fit into what might be called the overall sword, so to speak. We have placement in that. I have a position to fill. You also have positions to fill in various ways. We all do in this sense. We still have the responsibility of being the sword in that position, whatever it may be, and that means that one has accepted and maintained and is experiencing the true state of consciousness.

You can't experience the true state of consciousness if you are emotionally involved in the things that are going on in your environment. It's impossible. And you will be emotionally involved in the things in your environment as long as all those things mean so much to you, as long as your love is there, as long as those things look so important to you. This is one of the hallmarks of people who come for help, that all the things in their environment look so important, so vast—so insuperable the difficulties are. They're not! They only look that way to the individual because he loves those things so much. When we begin to love being right in our own consciousness, so that what is present in our consciousness is true to the Divine Design—we love the nature of God, the quality of God; this means more to us, is bigger than anything else—then all these other things, what happened to them? We give life to our world, and if it's a distorted world, we maintain it by our life force poured into it. When we give ourselves back to God, then the life force is withdrawn from all that and down it goes. That's a terrifying experience for some people sometimes: “My world is falling apart!” Praise the Lord! At last! You can't hold it together anymore. But the Lord holds His world together. That's not going to fall apart. It may have been obscured by this other world and it may look like an appalling thing to see this other world tumbling down—it's the one that you were observing—but when it's tumbled down, the Divine World is still there. It didn't fall. Isn't this the greatest undertaking in which anyone could be engaged?

We Are Approaching A Very Pivotal Moment

We  Are  Approaching  A  Very  Pivotal  Moment

Robert Kauffman  Atlanta, Georgia  April 27, 2025

Temple of Light Service

Thank you, Steve. You’ve taken us on a fascinating journey through time to the present—which is also our entire history. I’m particularly moved by your emphasis on victory; the capstone of the ebbs and flows of those who have come before. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/our-living-cosmic-timeline.html]

I spent a week thinking about what I would say this afternoon, and I would like to share something very personal for me. I believe we are approaching a very pivotal moment—all of us personally, and without a doubt, the human world as a whole. Many very large cycles appear to be coming into sharp focus at this time; and we are together today because we have specific parts to play in this vast outworking.

What parts do we play? This afternoon I want to focus on a role I consider central to all of us here, today, that is to allow heaven and earth to be one in heart and mind. I see this as our primary job. Interestingly, this job is not a new one but extends beyond the bounds of space and time. In preparation for this afternoon, I was guided to the Book of Psalms and I rediscovered a rather poetic description of the process that’s now at hand.

Please explore with me the wisdom of the 23rd Psalm. I’m going to read it to you and then I’ll follow with a description of what I mean: “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

OK, I’ll hold right there for a moment. I used to interpret the word “want” as a rather passive verb—I’d just sit down and let it happen. But now it comes to mind that that’s an absolute command—as in—as Terry said last month—there are no ‘yeah, buts’ tolerated here! Let me continue:

“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

And this one I particularly love: “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD, forever.”

This makes great sense to me. If the opening line is seen as a command, and I fulfill it, the promise of the LORD follows seamlessly. It outlines a sacred commission, and it reminds me of the Master’s words: “Be still, and know that I am God.”

I’ve been considering forgiveness as a principle part of this work. Accordingly, we have been promised a seat at the table prepared “in the presence of mine enemies”. We have been given the opportunity to sit in stillness before that imagined table. Now I have understood that “mine enemies” come in many forms. As a child, I was directed to meditate upon the sins of the world—my sins, the Seven Deadly Sins, the “thou shalt nots”—all things that are routinely considered “bad”. As I learned to repent, however, I found it comforting, and freeing, and in my heart, I could say: “Ah, it is good!”

But as my mind ponders these things, I have to start considering “good”, because it occurs to me that in the Psalm there’s never a mention of either “good” or “bad”. And with regard to “mine enemies”, there’s no mention of any difference; it’s whatever is holding me back. So, I’m left with the thought that I have used forgiveness often as a technique to transform my transgressions into valuable life-experience—basic building blocks for attaining a good and secure life. But always reaching for the “good” stuff has never succeeded in filling my days with great peace and joy. How often do I actually lie down in green pastures on my own; how often do I sit still beside the cool waters? In fact, I realized I was constantly in the business of planning, strategizing my life, creating a self-image. These plans, goals and aspirations are not easy to give up. I’ve relied on them as a security against the unknowns of life. But taking control of our lives is also not mentioned in the Psalm—only to take my seat at the LORD’s table. Few there are who have ever completely done this. Do I dare? Do you dare?

This conundrum is not just my own, of course. There are evidences throughout the Bible. Perhaps the most significant is the story of the disciples in the upper room. After the ascension of the Master, according to the record, Peter was leading the remaining disciples, and the women, in what was essentially a business meeting—for example, they were voting on a new candidate to take the place of Judas. When suddenly, what’s been called the “Day of Pentecost” descended upon them. Now I can only imagine the dual impacts that the Ascension of the Master and the Pentecost had upon them all. In the rush of the moment, it seems clear that Peter reverted to impulses that we would all recognize: He rushed to take control, as was his tendency and his talent, but he was ignoring the pattern of leadership that the Master had set up. And many in that grouping failed to heed the Master’s warning to “Tarry in Jerusalem”. And as we know, it did not end well.

Don’t you think it’s time for us to finish the work, as described in the Psalm? In order to play our part perfectly, we must each give our lives to our LORD and KING. Is there anything we’re still holding back? In a class recording in 1953, titled The Shekinah Fire, [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/the-shekinah-fire.html] Uranda presented a stunning description of what I have called “our primary job on earth”. That job description will undoubtedly change in the future, but at least for the present, Uranda’s image is precise and clear. He says to all responding ones:

“When it begins to appear, when the glowing Light is first seen, we have evidence that the Presence has been there for a considerable period, that the creative field has been maintained, that there have been no adverse vibrational factors, no discords, no resentments, no critical attitudes, no conflicts, no fear; for where these things rule, we never see the beautiful Glowing Light; or the Cloud of Glory revealing the evidence of the Presence of the One Who Dwells.” And he continues: “As we begin to meditate on these words, we begin to appreciate the great significance of the simple words: ‘Be still, and know that I am God’.”

What Uranda describes is nothing less than the tipping point from “I” to “We”; from consciousness of “mine” to “Thine”. Now this is not to imply that we haven’t experienced thousands of moments of real unity within our own experience. I have wonderful memories—in particular during my 9 years at Glen Ivy. But in the process of passing through a long season of purification, there have been many opportunities—some challenging and some easy, and I bet we could all say that. It is evident that the time has come to let it all go. There has been a table prepared for each one of us to receive our world and reflect it into the eyes of the LORD. As each one of us does this—and maintains the fire of his passion for the LORD—we do in fact begin to inhabit the same space in consciousness. Uranda described that as well:

“And when at last there are those who are willing, yea eagerly willing, to be with one accord in one place, and to remain so, there shall surely be the beginnings of the manifestation of the Cloud; and within the Cloud, finally the beginning of the glowing of the Light; and within the Light, finally the reality of the Fire. And these reveal the evidence of the Presence of the One Who Dwells.”

We have come to the realization that true self-interest requires the fulfillment of the whole, wherein together we open the door to God’s Design for the world of MAN. It rightfully includes everyone. We find ourselves all together in this Great Day [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/for-this-i-have-abandoned-all-my-other.htmland it is my passion to join all of us, in living in the House of the Lord. I see that as well, within our lives.

Our Living Cosmic Timeline

Our  Living  Cosmic  Timeline

Steve Ventola   Atlanta, Georgia  April 27, 2025

Temple of Light Service

Steve Ventola — Welcome. It's a great delight to share this time. I thought we'd begin with a devotion: LORD, as we still our hearts and our minds, pausing in this place at this time, this present moment, out of the silence we wait. We wait on Thee. As we trust in waiting upon Thee, we allow Thy nature to touch our hearts. All gathered collectively in Thy presence, we acknowledge Thy name. We breathe Thy nature in through our hearts, and out through our bodies, that our worlds may be blessed, that all may be blessed—for Thy Name to be shared and thy love and the glory of Thy Christ. Aumen. I'm going to begin by sharing some slides.

Slide 1: Our Living Cosmic Timeline: We’ll look at where we began and where we are now.

YouTube  Video

Slide 2:  The Plan

“We have recognized that all of the Plan, the Program, designed to bring about the salvation of man, or the restoration of the world to the Divine Estate, since the days of the fall has been carried forward by the Priesthood—the Order of Melchizedek.” [Uranda  Entertain the Lord—How to Meditate  April 9, 1953]

“The pattern of connecting that which was known in the Garden of Eden or in the Motherland. with that which is known within the period of recorded history is carried over to us, and made available to us on this basis: Melchizedek, King of Salem, Priest of the Most High God—and that particular focalization in manifestation, of Priesthood gave man the opportunity of returning to the Divine Estate.” [Uranda Melchizedek Priesthood April 2, 1953]

“Our function, as Emissaries, is to let Reality manifest in the world chaos, that in due season, the Responding Ones of the masses will be drawn into harmonization with the Focal Expression of Reality which is made manifest through us into the world.” [Uranda  Seven Steps To The Temple of Light  1936]

Slide 3: Orion, Pleiades and Our Sun

Next, is a slide of the creative triangle formed between the constellation of Orion, the Pleiades and our Sun. “Twelve groups of God Beings, one of which Being was and is the Master Self within thee, went forth from the Sun and each group began the creation of another world.” [Uranda  Behold I Create  1952] There is such an interaction between Orion and Pleiades. What a wonderful thing! In a way, it is a romantic relationship, and out of that relationship, our Sun was created.

Slide 4: Unified Creation

“This group of divine beings which were about 7 billion in number, began a unified radiation into the unformed, which set up a vibratory action and reaction in the unformed, and then it was no longer unformed, for as it responded, the formation took place on the lines of force radiated by the God Beings. The Elohim were the Seven Leaders of this Group of God Beings, and it was under their direction that the creation of this world began and still continues. This cycle of creation in this world will not end until the whole earth shall become a blazing sun, radiant with Light, Love, and Life, which is the Christ expression of God Being. Then shall the world take its place in the process of creative expression.”  [Uranda  Behold I Create  1936]

Slide 5:  A Spiritual Remembrance [Job 38]

Verses 3-4 “Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee and answer thou me. Where was thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.”

Verses 31-33 “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or cast thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?”

Slide 6: Timeline Chart: Most of us have seen this timeline. This is just a review.

Please refer to the Video

Some points made include the following: On the seventh day of creation, God rested. God rested because now man was in place to provide what was necessary through him of God. The end of the 7th day marked a period of 181,104 years. Man represented the Divine Estate in expression on earth for approximately 155,000 years.

At the end of the 12th day, which was a Fire Solar Age, a vibrational cloud was moving through our solar system and man was warned that his conscious understanding and discernment would not be as clear. It was during this time that the Fall took place, around 18,000 BC, with Adam and Eve. Note: We are currently moving out of that vibrational cloud. Man has been in the fallen state for 20,000 years.

There were various leaders from 2000 BC to 500 BC for the First Sacred School [physical approach]. The Second Sacred School initiated by the LORD of Lords as Jesus [mental approach]. He incarnated at a shift point where the Universal Age changed from Water to Air. It was a Water Solar Age and a Water Ordinary Age. That brings us to the Third Sacred School [spiritual expression approach].

Slide 7: Timeline of Our Ministry

The Four Forces: Water, Air, Earth, Fire are the overall phases, and each covers a span of 28 years.

Our ministry was initiated in 1932 and I've categorized it in terms of 7-year cycles [Water overall phase & Water is the first 7-year cycle]. Uranda had his awakening in September 1932. In 1939, Martin met Uranda. There was a vibrational spark there that allowed for something to really ignite, to inspire. From 1939 to 1946 [Air]: Sunrise Ranch was a dominant aspect of that period when it came into being. Those of you who've read Grace Van Duzen’s book, “The Vibrational Ark”, know there is a whole lot in there that describes this time. From 1946 to 1953 [Earth]: Martin was ordained, and the GPC Servers Training School began with the assistance of George Shears and Albert Ackerley. It brought together chiropractors who listened and heard and responded to Uranda. There was major response to those classes. From 1953 to 1960 [Fire]: We know what occurred in 1954 (Uranda’s passing), but we want to acknowledge that there was a victory with Martin and a core of people who continued to carry through in that Fire cycle. So that covers the first phase of 28 years; seven years for each of the four forces.

The Air overall phase began in 1960 to 1967 [Water]: Dr. Bill Bahan attended his first class in 1963. With his awakening and agreement with Martin, something really started building from 1967 to 1974 [Air]. From 1974 to 1981 [Earth]: a core had developed, and the Executive Council came into form. From 1981 to 1988 [Fire]: World ministry was dominant. There was something large happening in the world with units popping up, a great expansion. During this 7-year Fire Cycle, Dr. Bill Bahan and Martin both passed.

We come now to the Earth overall phase from 1988 to 1995 [Water]. There was great promise at hand. However, the ministry quaked. From 1995 to 2002 [Air]: splintered patterns arose that looked to maintain something of integrity. From 2002 to 2009 [Earth]: integrity was kept individually and in some groups. From 2009 to 2016 (Fire): individual integrity was maintained, and we recognize that as a pattern of that Earth phase. We are here sharing in service and that is a big victory.

Now we look at the Fire overall phase. From 2016 to 2023 [Water], we saw various leadership patterns emerging. I'm sure you acknowledge them in your own consciousness. From 2023 to 2030 [Air]: a time for the field to be cleared, the atmosphere to be cleared. That's our responsibility now. No matter what, to let the field be clear. A vision for the future from 2030 to 2037 [Earth]: a promise of a one unified body in form. From 2037 to 2043 [Fire]: a body holding in the fire. We recognize that during the Solar Age when man fell, there wasn't a body holding in the fire. When Martin passed, there wasn't a body holding in the fire. However, there were individuals.

Slide 8:  What does it take for a body to hold in the fire?

It takes love, truth and life.  “Whereas the centering of Almighty God is in love, so let it be with me. Whereas the nature of God is characterized by truth and life, so let it be with me.” [Uranda  Servers Code  1953]

Let each of us know that and hold to the depth of our beings. As we do that individually, we have the makings of a unified conscious body continuing the work of the Melchizedek Priesthood.

Slide 9:  Playing our Part

“…so we become aware that we are here on earth to do something very specific as angels in company with other angels and we use everything to advantage. Because we stand in the Holy Place with a continuing sense of sacredness of our mission – destiny on earth.” [Martin Cecil  Gate of Heaven  July 20, 1977]

Slide 10:  Our last Opportunity

“… man has thrown away two opportunities The third one is established, and if he throws that one away, there is no more, it is finished. Now, he isn't going to throw it away; I am not suggesting that.” There are going to be a few somehow or other to carry the pattern through.” [Uranda  Melchizedek Priesthood April  2,1953]

I think those of us here sharing now can count ourselves accordingly.

Slide 11: Carrying the Pattern Through — Revelation

I just love this verse from the Book of Revelation: “And they went up on the breath of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.” [Revelation 20:9] I love acknowledging that, no matter how disturbed world events are, that if there are enough of us maintaining our integrity, having that place in the camp of the saints, it allows for that fire to come down from heaven for transmutation to occur.

Slide 12: Carrying the Pattern Through — Martin

“The kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ. There is the collective victory, the restoration of mankind, but it comes because of the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and that is present only because of the individual victory of the King. He set the precedent, and we are quite capable of acknowledging that precedent in our own experience here and now. As this is done, all the rest comes quickly.” [Martin Cecil  Precedent of Victory—Transcendent Nation  November 22, 1981]

Slide 13:  Carrying the Pattern Through — Uranda

“Confronting any human being who turns to the practical way of God's design There are mountains of difficulties of various kinds. There are always problems to work out in the physical body from the standpoint of health. There are problems to be cleared with respect to the mind, the spirit, the atmosphere. There are problems of environment, of circumstance, problems of living. The mountains of difficulties, obstacles, the things which appear to human beings as giants in the land, the things that make most human beings fearful. If we approach these problems, these difficulties, these mountains in the right spirit and attitude, and let the creative constructive spirit of the Creator work through us, we can do something about them; we can prove reality of God's way of life.” [Uranda  Behold I Create  1953]

Let us take note now of Uranda’s words and let them really be ingrained. We can prove this out and carry the pattern through. You learn to hold center. You learn to have a true positive dynamic response to God. When something goes wrong, you do not give way to resentment, judgment or condemnation.

“If we have any hint of resentment or judgment or condemnation, it should be a signal to us that we’ve still got some work to do in maintaining a true positive and dynamic response to God. There's the answer. We see it as a signal. Let not your heart be troubled.” “You believe in God, believe also in me.” [Uranda  Intercession  March 12, 1953

We are blessed and privileged to have an awareness of true design—“believe in me” and what that means. The LORD of Lords, who incarnated through Jesus, made that statement, “believe in me”. Uranda noted the name Raisara, from the Motherland Tongue, for the being who incarnated as Jesus. Our God Being loves the LORD of love absolutely, totally, fully.

We learn how to praise tonally. We learn how to do that. We hold center. We have a true positive dynamic response that burns in our hearts all the time. We are aware of playing our part. Our thinking becomes the Light that Glows.

When the Light is glowing, we feel a sense of joy, a sense of humor. We recognize when our sense of humor is gone. We let our Light glow, we come back to right orientation, we come back to praising no matter what, allowing the body to be invigorated with power.

Subconsciously, the power is moving through us, and the Holy Ghost is filling us to overflowing. We can harmonize in oneness from above, down, inside, out. That's a chiropractic tenent. Something is released through us and we begin to extend an influence that allows others to harmonize with us.

Above and down—from our God Being above, and down through our heart, our mind, our body and then out into the world. We embody the One Who Dwells, the Fire That Burns, the Light That Glows and the Cloud of Glory extending out.

I like using the word, Jehovah, tonally expanding the influences of God, restoring the Kingdom of God with Heaven on earth—a Transcendent Nation established through our expression by reproving the world of sin in the simple and profound ways. We carry the pattern through.

I think I just gave you a bit to digest. Let’s give thanks for what we just shared. I think there’s always more to be said; and I think the underlying essence here is to continue carrying through the purification of our hearts, so that we actually know our One Body in form, let that manifest, let the field be clear to let it happen.

The Reason

The  Reason

Martin Cecil  May 5, 1974 p.m.

After this morning's service I had, as usual, a number of letters of response. I find it interesting to observe the indications of whether the writer was really moving with what had been offered, or was generating a pattern of his own. This becomes rather evident when an analogy is used. There is always a danger to using an analogy, because people can get hold of such things and really make something out of them, something other than what was being conveyed by the analogy when it was first presented; and I noticed that this happened in one or two instances in the letters I received after this morning's service. Those who are right on make the fact clearly evident in what they write. It is always a delight to receive such beautiful and creative letters of response. Presumably those who are not right on do not realize that they are not right on. A certain amount of tone-deafness is apparently involved, so that a person will write something which looks pretty good on the surface, but the note is flat; there is a certain sourness to it. Of course, people have to learn. Part of my continuing responsibility is to keep sounding the Tone over and over and over, so that finally a person begins to hear it. There are a great many people who do not really hear the Tone yet. They know there is something, they interpret it in different ways, but they never yet really heard what the Tone is. Finally it may penetrate and the individual leaves his confusions, his sour notes, and really comes into position to participate in amplifying that True Tone, right on.

So I used the analogy of a seed this morning [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/the-seed.html], and the way I used it revealed the True Tone. One needs to be very cautious about using the analogy some other way—which is what occurred in some instances, so that the response started to produce a tone of its own. This is what self-centered human egos like to do, but it is the self-centeredness that needs to pass away. I would like to read a little more from this particular passage that we were considering this morning. “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name.”

Because these words were spoken shortly before Jesus was arrested and came into judgment, was sentenced and the sentence was carried out, it is thought that they referred merely to that. They did, of course, refer to that, but from the standpoint of our present vision we see that much more was happening than most people recognize. He said, “For this cause came I to this hour.” This was the way it was working out in His movement through the re-creative process, and He wasn't about to break the unfoldment of that cycle. He recognized that this now was the reason He was there. There was no purpose to looking back and saying, “Well, it might have been some other way.” The fact was that it was the way it was and He had to utilize that circumstance for the purpose for which He was present. Of course, that related to something which was very extreme insofar as He was concerned, because He alone was doing something that needed to be done but had never been done. He did not have the support, understanding or agreement of His disciples or others. He stood alone, and He was doing something that He alone could do.

This same situation is not to be faced by anyone else, because it has been faced, it has been done; the seed has been sown, the seed of victory. Nevertheless, if we are to serve Him by allowing this seed to germinate and grow, we necessarily must follow Him. As He put it, “Where I am, there shall my servant be.” We do not follow Him by imitating Him, as though if there were enough imitations we could build a plant out of it. A plant isn't built out of seeds; it is something unique to itself. And the unfoldment in the creative process permits each individual to reveal the truth of his or her own being as a part of the growing plant, or tree, vine, in the sense that Jesus allowed the revelation of His particular specific reality of being on earth. And each one follows Him in the same way, but the reality of being of each one is unique to the individual concerned. Now, we want no imitations—just the genuine revelation of the truth with respect to the individual, with respect to oneself; and in the creative movement of this there are times when it may be said that we are troubled. Very often those who turn to God and to spiritual things imagine that all the so-called problems of life are now going to vanish and they will be henceforth riding freely and easily on the clouds of heaven; but as all of you can testify, I am sure, it doesn't necessarily work that way, because there is something to be done.

Our Master, when He was here in the form of Jesus, was here to do something, something that was specific for Him. By the same token, if we are to follow Him we are to do what is specific for us, and there is something specific in this regard for each one. No doubt in the doing there are times when there is what we have before referred to as dis- comfort, when we might say, “I am troubled.” What are we going to do then, when that is the case? In any situation where a person may be, there are always circumstances to be taken care of, handled. If these circumstances seem to be troublesome, then usually the individual wants to get away from them or somehow manipulate things to cause the trouble to depart. How little recognition there is that “for this cause came I to this hour.” In other words, it's no mistake that we're there. Of course many would acknowledge this as it related to Jesus: “He was the Son of God; He came to do something particular, and therefore every event was important and He was necessarily required to handle it correctly, and so on and so forth. But as for me, now, it's different! When troublesome circumstances arise for me, then I can complain about them, object to them, struggle with them, try to change them, or run away. If I run away, then I may live to fight another day.” What an unstable attitude, exemplified universally by human beings.

If we begin to participate in that plant which is growing from the original seed, we find ourselves moving in the design and according to the principles and under the control that were focalized in essence in that original seed, so we have exactly the same attitude with respect to our circumstances as He had with respect to His. He was moving to a particularly climactic point in His experience and could well have said that He was somewhat troubled; but what He felt in that regard in no sense governed His attitude or His action. Immediately upon acknowledging the fact that He was troubled He stated the truth: “For this cause came I to this hour.” And no matter what it is that arises in anybody's life, anywhere, at any time, exactly the same attitude may be taken: “For this cause came I to this hour,” to handle this circumstance in the right way, to deal with the situation, whatever it may be, on the basis of the truth of being. Here is something that needs to be firmly set in human attitude if anything of meaning is to be achieved, because every circumstance that comes to any person is just exactly the way it should be and provides the basis for the required divine action. The door is always open in this regard.

“Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say?” These could be your words, couldn't they, over and over again. “Now is my soul troubled; what shall I say? I don't like it; please change it; help me to get rid of this trouble.” That is the self-centered approach, isn't it? No, that is not the word; that's the word of weakness, the word of the self-centered human ego. What is the word of the Lord? What is the word of divine being? What is your word as an angel of the Lord? “Father, save me from this hour, poor me; save me from my troubles”? No, but, “For this cause came I to this hour, to handle the situation, to accept what the state is and to be true to the truth of my own being.” How many people there are in the world who like to be martyrs; they like to be martyrs provided that everybody around knows they are martyrs. “I had such a tragic experience, you know, and I am going to make good and sure that you know that I had this tragic experience, by my facial expression, by the way I act, the way I drag around. I am going to make sure that everybody knows what misery I have been condemned to. Poor, poor me!”—the self-centered human ego in full flight. It would be no fun, of course, if nobody knew you were suffering so!

Martyrdom is a very popular game played by human beings everywhere. “Father, save me.” Why? That is a good question to ask. Would there be any point to saving you? When one begins to be honest with oneself one can ask these questions, because there is no point whatsoever to saving a self-centered human martyr. What gain would there be for anyone?—least of all for the person concerned. Let the martyrdom pass away. There is some achievement that's worthwhile! If there is a tendency to feel troubled and therefore to want to be saved from the trouble, then there may be a recognition at the same time that here is self-centeredness poking its head into the picture. And one of the requirements of a servant of the Lord is that he should so behave as to allow the self-centeredness to pass away. This is part of the reason why the individual has come to that hour. The word “reason” could be substituted for the word “cause.”

For this reason came I to this hour, to any self-centered controls to be relinquished, so that in handling whatever is to arise there will be no complaint, no desire to duck out or to get someone to make it better for one's own experience, but to let it unfold the way it will unfold in the presence of an angel. We have the responsibility of letting the angel be present in whatever the situation is, the angel who may say of himself, “I am.” The reason for being faced with any particular situation or circumstance is that the angel may be present in that situation or circumstance. This is the reason why you come to the hour. On the one hand, the self-centered person says, “Father, save me from this hour,” or on the other hand one says, “Father, glorify thy name.” Let what finds expression in momentary living with respect to whatever it is that arises give evidence of the presence of the angel of the Lord.

“Glorify Thy Name.” What is the Name of the Lord? In the larger sense we could say that the Name of the Lord is Man, Man the Living Soul, Man made in the image and likeness of God. Here is the evidence of the Presence of the Father. When Man is a Living Soul, he is the evidence of the Presence of the Father, the evidence of the Presence of God, insofar as this world is concerned. “Glorify Thy Name.” Make the glory of the Lord manifest through me—that is what is being said here. Glory always relates to life. Life is glorious; this is the nature of life. And when the evidence of the life of the angel of the Lord is revealed in the expression of the individual, that is a glorious experience. The glory may not immediately be recognized by others. There was virtually no one present at the time that our Master moved through that troublesome time, to see His glory. It was there but most people weren't seeing the glory. The glory of life, the evidence of the Presence of the Lord, was clearly present there in the behavior of this One, in the character displayed, in the quality of attitude, in the forgiving spirit, in His clear understanding of what was required in that particular situation, His willingness to carry through with it. All this was glory—glory for all those who were not judging by the appearance.

So it is with respect to any of us, any human beings anywhere, who accept their own real responsibilities. “Father, glorify Thy Name.” That's a very different attitude to what is popularly held by human beings in general with respect to their circumstances. It's all quite conspicuous by its complete absence. What an exceptional thing to find a person in the circumstances that are present in the world, in the world as it now is, who will have this attitude: “Father, glorify Thy name, here, in this.” And yet it is the fact that for this cause we come to any hour, to let this be so in our own experience. We all have circumstances, of course, of all kinds. Some of those circumstances may relate immediately to others who are associated with us in the same prayer, “Father, glorify thy name,” and yet, looking at them we may wonder whether this is their prayer and we may consequently enter into a little judgment.

“That person, that Emissary, that server, isn't, in my estimation, glorifying the Name of the Father.” Well, do you suppose that Emissary, that server, has to fulfil your estimates? Is that the cause for which he came into the world, so as to satisfy you? I doubt it. That's not the point at all, is it? The point is that this should be your prayer. “Father, glorify Thy Name, in me,” not in the other fellow. And if that is our prayer, then we recognize that it was for this cause that we came into that particular situation. It matters not at all what the behavior of anyone else is; here is the setting—whatever the situation may be—here is the setting where one may let this prayer be answered: “Father, glorify Thy Name in my expression because I take the responsibility for letting it happen, not because I sit twiddling my thumbs, hopefully waiting for a blinding flash of light that's going to be so tremendous that everybody's going to fall down in a swoon because they're not glorifying His Name and then they'll all see that I am.” What happened when this tremendous glorification of the Name of the Father was occurring in Jesus? How about the behavior of others who were present? It wasn't altogether what it ought to have been, was it? It was despicable, to say the least. And yet the glory was there. Do you have to be sure, in any particular situation, that everyone around recognizes that the glory is there insofar as you are concerned?

We noted how people want to be recognized as martyrs, for instance? Do you wish to be recognized as glorious? This is not the purpose—merely that the glory should be there, regardless of whether anyone recognizes it or not. In some situations, of course, people will be inclined to say, “Yes, I saw it,” but in others, “Oh, no.” And I am sure that you have judged some at times adversely when the fact of the matter was that the glory was present. You just didn't see it. Well, who was at fault? You were, obviously. There was something blocking your vision, something composing a barrier in this regard. That would be impurity of heart, wouldn't it? Judge not, for the only reason that each one as an individual is present in the circumstance of the moment is to reveal the glory of the angel of the Lord, without expectation of being patted on the back for doing it; in fact quite often just the reverse may occur, and then if it does you may feel justified in being resentful about it. “Look, I was showing the glory and here someone didn't appreciate it.” Well, if anyone could have been resentful our Master could have been resentful on that score, couldn't He? because there wasn't anyone present, in evidence at least, who appreciated what He was doing. So none of us have any excuses that we could attribute as being justified by Him.

No, regardless of how your husband or your wife or your fellow Emissary or your fellow Class member or your server, or whoever, may be behaving, it is of no consequence whatsoever insofar as your expression of life is concerned, because whatever the situation is, that is the situation that is. There isn't any other; it's the only one in which you can permit the glory of the angel of the Lord to be present; and that is the individual's sole responsibility. Whatever works out because the angel of the Lord is present will work out. You don't have to make it work out; it will work out if the angel of the Lord is present. And what works out may convince you, for the moment anyway, that you are being martyred. Then comes the test as to whether you want to display the martyrdom more than you wish to display the glory of the Lord. There's no question insofar as most people are concerned in this regard; the martyrdom comes first. Where are our values? Laid up in heaven or laid up on earth? When they are laid up in heaven, then the glory of the angel of the Lord carries the most weight with us and there is no situation conceivable in which you may not allow it to be expressed and revealed.

Would any of you dare to stand up and say that you know a situation where this would not be possible? I don't think so. And yet, what do we actually do? How much seeming trouble does it take to deny the glory of the Lord and to take the attitude, “Oh, in this situation ... if you only knew what my troubles are you would be most sympathetic to the fact that I cannot possibly display the glory of the angel of the Lord here”? Could you ever take such an attitude, honestly? I don't think so. Whatever arises in the hour, in the moment, we realize that it is for that that we ourselves came to the hour. Could you still say, “Well, it wasn't really for this. I thought, when I began to serve the Lord, that things would work out differently, and now look at this! I didn't come into the world for this, in this hour”? Oh, yes, you did. I don't care what it is. “Honor and glorify Thy Name”—there's an attitude of strength, isn't it? Here is the beginning of the evidence of a true Man or a true Woman. Sometimes unexpected things arise: “Why did this have to happen to me?” For the specific reason that you are present to handle it correctly.

We recognize how useful the attitude of thanksgiving is in this regard. Something comes up when you may say, “I am troubled,” and then you remember: “For this cause came I to this hour. How thankful I am for what has arisen, therefore.” And it is always so. There's nothing whatever to complain about. Would this leave a gap in your life? What would you do, what would you say, if you didn't have something to complain about? I think a lot of conversation would dry up, even in Emissary circles.

“… but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify Thy Name.” How beautiful! What a tremendous thing when we begin to see it and understand it and recognize that it relates to us. Certainly Jesus, our Master, led the way in establishing the creative cycle of victory in bringing to focus the essences of all that is right and needful. The door is open, the way is clear. We may follow Him by accepting exactly the same attitude in our personal circumstances, for, as He said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” All men are drawn but not all men are willing to come in response to that drawing power. But all who are willing are drawn in the cycle of resurrection. “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth”—which He was, in the sense of moving through the completed cycle of resurrection and ascension—“will draw all men unto me, that where I am there may my servant be,” in exactly the same experience. Thereby is Man restored to the state of the Living Soul on earth, and the immediate purposes of God, no longer at all inscrutable, are fulfilled. For this cause, in the overall sense, for this cause came we all to this hour.

How could these things really be? Human beings have no experience of them and therefore are inclined to imagine that such fulfilment is quite fanciful. It is fanciful insofar as someone who has not experienced it is concerned, that's true, but let us let the fancy be transformed into reality in our own experience. Then we know it is so, regardless of what anyone else may imagine. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
