Reality

Reality

Martin Cecil  May 18, 1980  pm

In this morning’s service I undertook to see if we could allow some debris to be cleared away so that there might be space for the true processes of government to be undertaken by all of us in agreement. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2021/09/no-more-fear-and-unbelief.html] There has been a great deal of unnecessary debris maintained in our ministry in general and in the Units in particular. As long as it is necessary to pay attention to what may be classified as debris, because there is an insistence upon maintaining it within our experience, we have a cluttered-up condition which provides no space for the experience of reality.

We might look at something here, presuming that the debris has been set aside sufficiently for us to do so. There is a state of false duality present in the consciousness and experience of human beings. We speak, for instance, of reality and unreality, or of God and the devil, or of heaven and hell, good and evil. These dualities in human experience are false dualities. If there is reality, what is unreality? It isn’t anything. If that reality can be described by using the word God, what is the devil? It isn’t anything. We have before spoken of the reality and the absence of it, the spirit of God and the absence of it. But what is an absence? It isn’t anything. It may be said that human beings now exist in a state of unreality. There is no such state. The fact that there is no such state proves itself out sooner or later. That outproving is called death. Here is another duality, life and death. Life is the reality, death is the unreality. It doesn’t exist.

We are inclined to give weight to unreality within the range of our human nature experience. To us the unreality exists. By the same token, seemingly the reality doesn’t. Here is a peculiar state of affairs. If there should be the actual experience of the reality then the unreality would no longer exist. The space made available would be filled with the experience of the reality, but then we wouldn’t need to call it the reality because there wouldn’t be any other experience. It seems necessary to have these false dualities simply because there is no experience of the truth. Even the word truth may be seen relative to the false, but the fact of the matter is that the truth is all there is. There is nothing false; it is all true. The false, or the idea of the false as opposed to the truth, only exists in human consciousness, human consciousness which in its present state is unreal, nonexistent.

Are these things difficult to understand? Seemingly so to most. But obviously if there is reality, that is really all there is. If we have the experience then of being an expression of that reality, we are. We don’t need to say, “This expression is real,” because there isn’t anything else. We do not need to say, “This expression is the expression of God,” because there isn’t any other expression.

The consciousness of human beings is filled with these false dualities. Mind you, there are some true dualities present also, although they are not understood. There is the duality, for instance, of male and female. The false dualities are looked upon as being opposites—good and evil, heaven and hell, God and the devil. The true dualities are not opposites but complements. They are aspects of the whole. The whole is whole. Its composition includes vast variety. It is because of that vast variety that the whole is whole. You cannot extract any of the aspects of the whole and still have the whole.

The human endeavor, almost invariably, is to try to break down the whole to examine the parts, as though the parts had some existence outside of the whole. They don’t! As we have noted before, virtually all human approaches, scientific ones particularly, are based in the idea of lifting parts out of the whole, breaking them down into small chunks, so that if we can get them small enough to enable us to encompass them mentally speaking then we will begin to have the opportunity of discovering what that chunk is. But immediately it is extracted from the whole it ceases to have any more meaning. It becomes unreal, because the whole is whole and it is absolutely impossible in fact to extract anything out of it. You can’t get it out. If it seems as though a person has been successful in getting something out he has been successful in deceiving himself and there is the idea present then of a part separate from the whole, and that is unreal. It only seems to exist in the consciousness of the one who has achieved this tremendous feat, but all he has succeeded in doing is exactly nothing.

How tenaciously we ourselves have been inclined to hang on to nothing, to maintain the unreal as though it were a real experience, when it isn’t. From one standpoint it could be said that once there is the experience of the reality there is absolutely no more interest whatsoever in the unreal of the present human state, because to one who functions from the standpoint of reality it doesn’t exist. But at the same time we are aware of the fact that there are immense numbers of people who firmly believe that it does exist, and we are concerned with people. We are not concerned with the unreality but with the people who are trapped in the unreal experience, imagining it to be real. This is the basis for the invitation, “Come unto me,” addressed to all who have ears to hear, that they might begin to forget the unreality.

You can’t forget the unreality if you are struggling with it, if you are promoting it into a prominent position in your own consciousness, if you are giving it weight. We noted this morning how there has been this usual human nature tendency to complain about things. What is the complaint about? Nothing, the unreal. What a futile undertaking, then, to spend one’s days complaining about and bucking something that doesn’t exist. It only seems to exist in human consciousness temporarily. How would one ever emerge out of the unreal as long as the slightest weight is given to it by paying attention to it, talking about it, discussing it ad nauseam? We simply perpetuate our own experience of the unreal.

Because the unreal has seemed so big and strong in the world of human experience it has been thought that it would be necessary for the power of God, in immense quantities, to put in an appearance to dispose of the unreal; but the power of God is not going to dispose of the unreal, because it doesn’t exist. It only seems to exist because we ourselves steal a little bit of the power of God and maintain this dream state, the unreal state. We have noted before that all that is necessary is to withdraw that support, and what doesn’t exist reveals that it doesn’t exist. But as long as we provide the support with our own life force, giving weight to the unreal, it just simply remains insofar as we are concerned. Because so much life force has been given to it, it seems like a tremendous thing and it would require the hosts of heaven on white chargers, with all the armaments of heaven, powerful and strong, to come into the world to get rid of it. Fantasy, complete fantasy! It requires no power whatsoever to get rid of it; in fact exactly the opposite.

Because the reality of God’s power—and perhaps we will need to look at this a little more carefully later—because the reality of God’s power has trickled through human beings into this process which has produced an unreal state in their own consciousness, it has seemed to everybody that here was something solid, strong, lasting—although these days it doesn’t look quite so sure—when it has never been anything else but unreal. Can you for a moment accept into your own awareness the recognition of a state which is perfect, real? Reality and perfection are the same thing. Reality is perfect. Having accepted that into your own consciousness and into your own expression of living, then immediately there is an awareness of wholeness. The concept of a lack of wholeness could not exist in the experience of a state of wholeness. The devil isn’t needed anymore, and in fact the human view of God isn’t needed anymore, because the experience is of the reality. The reality is not somewhere else; the reality is exactly where one is and what one is. You don’t need to describe that state. If all are experiencing that state in the true sense it is a state of innocence. You don’t need to explain it to anybody. It is what is, and everybody knows that it is. There is a consciousness then of wholeness.

There are no separate parts. It is all one. So we don’t need to talk about oneness. What would be the point of talking about oneness if that’s all there was? We only use these words when there are opposites present in consciousness, in other words in the unreal state. Then we imagine that there is reality on one hand and unreality on the other hand. But the truth is all there is. Unreality doesn’t exist. It is recorded that the Master indicated the reality when He used these words, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Such words are only necessary if it is supposed that there is the way on one hand and a hundred or a thousand other ways on the other hand; and the truth on one hand and falsity on the other hand; life on one hand and death on the other hand. But if it is seen that the way, the truth and the life are the reality, there is no need even to use the words, because they only begin to have meaning if there is something opposite to compare them with.

We have noted in times past that at the point of the fall of man he had nothing to compare the reality with. Of course he soon had something, the emergent experience of the absence of the reality, which can be described by using the word unreality. But unreality is a fantasy; it isn’t anything. The restoration is a word that has meaning, some meaning anyway to us, because it seems as though there is a state to which to be restored. But the fact of the matter is that there is only one state; there isn’t any other. There is only one God; there isn’t any other. If the experience is of the reality, we don’t need to talk about it; we don’t need to describe it. There is nothing to compare it with.

I draw these things to your attention so that you may, for one thing, see the futility of giving weight to the unreal, thinking that it is important, imagining that it is something with which you have to deal. You can’t deal with it. You can’t deal with nothing. You can’t make something out of nothing, and yet human beings are constantly trying to make something out of it, aren’t they? We have all indulged in that nonsense. Our concern is solely with the state, the experience and the expression of reality. We only use that word because we haven’t known what the reality is. It is a comparative word: the reality on one hand, unreality on the other. But it’s a contradiction to have unreality. Reality is real; that’s all there is. If we use the word restoration it relates to the experience of what we now call reality; the experience of being, we might say, what is: I am.

This morning I offered the opportunity to let some debris be swept out of the holy place so that there might be some space there for the experience of the reality. If the broom of the spirit of God achieved this, so that there is some space present, then we don’t need to do it all over again. In times past it seems that a little space would be cleared but almost immediately those concerned would clutter it up again. The clearing of the space is for the experience of the truth, of the reality of God, of what is; and, as we all well know, that cannot be known as long as we worship unreality, as long as we imagine that the unreal is so important that we must pour our life force into it, that we must become emotionally disturbed by it, that we must—horror of horrors—think and think how to get rid of it. How can you get rid of nothing? Someone trying to think how to get rid of nothing could hardly be thinking! Withdrawing attention from what was assumed to be present and called the unreal, immediately allows it to dissolve in our own experience. It doesn’t have far to go, because it was nothing in the first place. It will go just like that! We have been thoroughly brainwashed, of course, with our fellows, to maintain the unreal in our own temporary experience. Why anyone should think it was worthwhile I don’t know. But when the debris is swept aside so that there is space in the holy place, we become aware of the reality, of the truth. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2018/06/karma-of-world-body-from-dealing-with.html]

The truth is true and all is well,

Unconquerable life prevails.

This is so. As long as it is a mere statement of words it doesn’t mean very much but once we begin to be included in the experience of the reality we have a vast encompassment. Now, as I say, when human beings look at the world the way it is and all the people in it and all the stuff that is everywhere, all the seeming power of evil and all the rest, this seems like something enormous. It’s all unreal. I don’t quite know how one would compare the real with the unreal. It’s hardly possible, is it? I suppose while one still has some belief in the unreal it might be said that the real dwarfs the unreal into insignificance. Well of course, because it’s nothing. But all the multinational corporations put together could hardly be expected to dwarf the reality. All the nations of the world put together would not dwarf the reality. Of course not! How can you equate nothing with something? Therefore from the standpoint of those who have space for the experience of the reality the unreal manipulations on earth are seen to be quite insignificant. If there is a recognition that what we now call the Emissary ministry is in fact indescribable in those terms but is an aspect of the expression of the wholeness of reality, then why should there be any particular sense of smallness relative to this unreal world and all that’s in it? When we know the reality the unreal is nothing to us.

We only have a continuing association with this state of human consciousness because of the human beings involved, speaking the words, “Come out of her, my people, come unto me, come into the experience of the real so that the unreal may simply vanish.” It only exists in human consciousness because human beings keep it there, and, as it is said, the reality, God, is unwilling that any should perish. There has tended to be a rather small outlook in what has been known as the Emissary world, as though what we were associated with was pretty insignificant. As another cult it’s very insignificant, yes, meaningless; but as an expression of the reality, all else is ready to be swept away into the nothingness from whence it came. Only because there are human beings present in that state of nothingness do we pay any further attention to the unreality that is known, not for the sake of the unreal but for the sake of the people who are caught in it. Whatever it is needful to do to extend this invitation and to make it possible for those who are willing to emerge out of nothing into something, we are here to do: as it was put, angels sent forth to gather the elect from the four winds, from one end of the heaven to the other, gather all into the experience of the reality. And when all who are willing are so gathered, then the end of the experience of the unreal comes because there is no one left to experience it.

In our attitude of service on earth, fulfilling our commission in the name of the Lord, we do not hesitate within ourselves to acknowledge the wholeness of the reality. There is nothing else in fact, and only to assist others do we continue to pay attention to the unreal. We do not give our life force to it to sustain it but we are willing to do whatever is necessary to give all on earth an opportunity to come clear. We are only in position to provide this if the debris is swept away so that we have space for this to happen. I trust that my touching into this matter of debris this morning is all that is necessary, so that we may be concerned with the truth, with the reality, with what is, so that all is seen from this standpoint. All is seen from the standpoint of the whole, the whole which is the reality, which is the truth. As citizens of that wholeness we bring the kingdom, the dominion of God, into the experience of those who are willing. We bring the power of God, not to destroy nothing—how would you do that?—but to move in the creative cycles which are included in that reality so that all things may be made new and the earth, together with the fulness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein, may finally be included again in the wholeness of reality. As this is done there is the restoration, and the word restoration can go by the board because there is nothing to be restored anymore. Let us abide in the truth because we have space for that experience in our living now, and in our living always.

Song  of  Freedom

Don Hynes  September 4, 2021

Steel gray water like polished silver

shines in the dull light of cloud filled skies.

Dolphins feed the tide line,

dorsal fins gracefully arcing

as they surface and dive.

I might seem to be alone

yet I am bathed in a vast community,

life it is in all directions

that rises with the sun and stars

both day and night in the eternal presence.

I should tone it down, speak in the mechanics

of physics and biology. I should but I won’t

for I only have so many days and the music

of my soul will only be sung if I let it.

I worship where I will and refuse the idols

of ideology and vain precept. Aboriginal

in my origins, boiled in the kettle of a hard city,

I know what it’s like to break the chains

of fear and dependence. I won’t go back to servitude,

bow before the altars of gold and cold marble.

What natural tree would vote for the axe,

desire to be cut down and milled into brutal standards.

The prison walls are as fake as the collar around your neck.

No one binds the soul. Ask the monks who kneel in snow

in the gulags of their oppressors. They smile at the blows

of ignorance, knowing who is really bound.

Every minute of every day I follow the breadcrumbs of my heart

and choose life, to breathe the air of earth itself

and send my blood to every cell with the song of freedom.

The so-called brilliant mind of human kind likes to compare, argue and discuss unreality because the mind gets satisfaction from 'winning.' "I am right and you are wrong," runs constantly through the minds of those who have yet to experience non duality. In heaven, none of that exists which is why it is heaven.
We can spend our time enjoying a state of non-duality right now if we so choose.
It seems an impossible dream because it has been done by so few on earth.
Instead, the substance of winning and being right is rampant, totally unnecessary and is very dangerous.

O how I love the world of non-duality. It is an immense place where we all fit together in complementation of each other. Peace is known and all that is required is our full participation. The creative forces take care of everything else.

Our job is to exude an atmosphere of wholeness so that people may have a chance of beginning to forget the unreality they are living in. We can't possibly present to people a clear space if we are still struggling with the unreal world.

Martin asks, "Can you for a moment accept into your own awareness the recognition of a state which is perfect, real?" I ask myself this question, again and again. The answer tells me plainly how my life is being lived.
I am not going somewhere better. I are here, in the substance of reality, where I belong and where I do not concern myself with better and worse.

My job here on earth is to live in a non-dualistic state so as to know for certain that there are no comparisons. This gives others an unspoken invitation to "Come unto me, to come into the state of non-duality.
All 'problems' disappear because there is no opposite present. We just fold into the reality of One. Then there is a place on earth for others to see and to feel Oneness. That is irresistible!

Some have said, "We don't need Martin's words anymore. That cycle is past."
It will be a profound day when Martin's words are no longer needed by me. It would mean I would not be experiencing any non-duality! Hmm, is this so yet?

Change occurs at a cellular level in me as I read these words. I can feel it. The question is, "Does my presence bring a gracious and clear atmosphere where the people of the world can rest?" That is my only job.
I shine my light and there is response to that light. What does not respond is not my business.

We are mining for gold by using our clear atmosphere to live deeply in reality so that others can see and shine their light on earth.

The habitual concern over the current state of affairs is a colossal waste of time. It is n addiction to self importance. Where duality is maintained, there is no hope for human life on earth. Nothing from that world is worthwhile.
This radical change of thought and action requires that all my 'precious debris' be forgotten about. It does not deserve my life force.
I join you, my friends in a never-ending opening into the world of reality. We are strengthened and blessed always in this opening.

"Every minute of every day I follow the breadcrumbs of my heart
and choose life, to breathe the air of earth itself
and send my blood to every cell with the song of freedom."

My song of freedom merges into yours and together we become One with Original Substance. As that is our reality, the world changes.

The blessing of our world is in direct ratio to our responsibility taken in this matter.
This is a blessed unending responsibility that is easily taken in the real world.
Thank you,
Laura
