It Is Written

It  Is  Written

Now we note a very interesting and significant point. "But He answered and said, It is written." Jesus could have answered in words that had not been written before. He could have used His Own expression, but His every answer to the tempter was a quotation from something God had already expressed to the children of men through His Prophets.

Jesus did not find it necessary to say anything that had not already been said and made available to the children of men, in order to meet the temptations which confronted Him. The significance of this is shown, first, by the fact that God had already made provision for the meeting of the tempter's snares long before the coming of our LORD in the flesh; and, secondly He Who was, and is, the LORD of Lords was ready and willing to quote from the Word of God already expressed. He did not feel that He had to make it original, and something peculiarly His own, to make it effective.

The Word that had already been written was the word that He used. "But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." The significance of that Word, in the fourth verse, which the Master quoted from the third verse of the eighth chapter of Deuteronomy, should come home with a new realization to each one here tonight. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Before opening my emails now, and finding this Quotation from Uranda and 'The Master' I was sitting speaking out loud to God and I was saying words to the effect that I have already given my body over to God for His purposes, but he needs to fix it up so I can be of more service. Since then (2 years ago I guess) I have continued to be ill up and down. Today I was saying I am officially handing him over my voice, and that he'd better have my mind as well and fix that up according to His needs. There's a lot more to share on this but here is not the place. Suffice to say the Spoken word and being an instrument in the increasingly 'wild' days before what really does to me feel like The End of mans world as we have known it. God needs his voice to be spoken on Earth in divers places. It is happening. Things are going to 'not look good' and many are going feel very afraid. wtf is going on? Will be in many peoples minds and hearts. But here and there there will be, shining in the darkness, those 'lights', beacons of men and women of God, who are 'not afraid', whose lives, body mind and heart are given over to God with no personal agenda. Those with eyes to see and ear to hear will see these beacons when they need to and maybe guided home. But as I say - the time is now short.
"For then there will be great distress, unequalled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equalled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened (Matthew 24:21-22)."
