It has been recognized by all of you, I am sure, that in the cycles of restoration the way has to be led by women. Probably some thought has been given to this matter, but it is likely that most of you have very little idea, even yet, as to exactly what that means. I thought I would take a few moments this morning to speak to you on this subject, so that you may begin to move into a clearer vision of exactly what it is that is required. Even now I can only touch it. I am reminded of the words our Master spoke long ago: "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now." The bearing of those things which should be said and must be said is not simply a matter of the capacity to understand; this depends upon the extent of trustworthiness—trustworthiness in the vibrational sense, trustworthiness in the collective sense.
Obviously, if there is to be a return to the divine state, there must be a moving out of something into something. It is interesting to note how it is put, "Come out of her, my people." This has a particular reference to women, amongst other things."Come out of her." Because woman initiated the cycle of the fall, she has a very keen sense of insecurity. That sense of insecurity has engendered what might well be called female arrogance.The arrogance we might say is a cover-up; but it is this pattern of female arrogance, based upon the fact that there is this deep feeling of insecurity, that must be met. It must be met by all those women who aspire to serve the Lord because they love the Lord.
Sometimes this particular pattern is more or less obvious, except probably to the one who assumes it. It has not been obvious to many of those who have assumed it in an arbitrary sense, where it can easily be seen by others. Sometimes it is there in a more subtle way, hidden to some extent at least. It is there, nevertheless, in all of you, all of you without exception, and we can recognize the basis of it in the sense of insecurity. We can see how it works along the lines as outlined in the story of the fall in the Book of Genesis, where the idea came that, while the Lord was very wise, while He had an understanding of many things, He did not quite see it all and therefore He needed a little help from a woman to enlighten Him.
Now if we look at that simply from the standpoint of the Lord in the invisible sense—which it was not, at that time certainly—the Lord was manifest on earth—we are liable to lose the point. It can be seen insofar as you ladies are concerned, and others in this ministry, as it relates to me. The attitude may be taken that I have a certain vision, a certain wisdom, a sense of the fitness of things by and large, but there are those fields where perhaps I am a little naive, a little uncomprehending, where it needs a woman to fill in the gap, so to speak. While this may not, in the general sense, be done with consciousness of doing it, nevertheless, if you will examine your attitudes, you will find, if you are honest, that such a viewpoint is actually there, as revealed by what you do and what you say. This is the female arrogance of which I speak. She has the idea that she can improve on things somehow, and that the Lord is a little unfair and He does not really see the picture quite as it is, and therefore she needs to slip in her two bits' worth, as they say. Who shall emerge "out of her," out of this female pattern of arrogance? Woman has a tremendous part to play in the divine design, but scarcely any female has begun to see it yet. There have been many fancies in that regard which have, generally speaking, little relationship to the truth. But first this must be met.
Now always when there is the need to achieve the divine purposes it is necessarily brought to focus somewhere. I provide something in focus, representing the Lord; in this instance we are seeing it as representing the Lord to you women and others, so that you may, if you will, begin to find a balance which no longer feels that it is necessary to instruct the Lord. In the return in the processes of restoration there must be a body of women who are willing to come out of her. That body of women must have a focus point, an absolute focus point. The one who provides that focus point is naturally very carefully selected by the Lord because she is the one who can do it. Her particular position would quite easily be recognized as being in many respects extremely difficult. It is not something that the Lord has required anyone to do alone. I would be inclined to feel that it would be impossible alone.
Lillian, in this cycle, provides that focus point. That which is characteristic of her, that which is present in her nature, that which underlies and is back of the external expression, all of these things, are exactly right for that which needs to be done. It is her responsibility in this sense; but, as I say, she cannot do it alone. That which she is required to do is something which other ladies are inclined to object to. Why? Because it brings to focus those things in themselves which need to be faced.
Now there are those who have taken a neutral attitude, so to speak, insofar as Lillian's task is concerned. There are those who have recognized something—probably chiefly in feeling—of what it is that is being done and have offered support. I praise God for those. And there are others who have done everything in their power to make it as difficult as possible. Because that which needs to be done is as it is, and has of course never been done by any woman anywhere thus far, since the fall, in relationship to what is required for the restoration, and because of the consequent tendency of women in general to try to destroy it, it has been most necessary that there should be one who played a vital part in relationship to this point of focus, in extending to her agreement and support, an enfolding something, and also offering to the responding ladies something which would provide an easy focus point to hold them steady while they were drawn into position to share the necessities of meeting this "thing"—it is the politest word I can think of—which is present in the fallen female nature: Gracie plays that part.
I wonder how much of these things you have seen. This relates to what is called place—not a fanciful, airy thing which has no substance, but actually doing something. And that which needs to be done can only be done as others share in it by giving their support and by recognizing that they, individually, have to meet exactly the same thing in relationship to which Lillian is leading the way for all.This is the way it is. It requires two to agree on earth to permit something to be done, and that is why we have two providing a focus in this sense. It is not supposed to be limited to two. Because of the deep sense of insecurity in women, because there has been a fundamental dishonesty which needs to be faced, there has been a general unwillingness to face this thing in themselves, and therefore the tendency to rebel in relationship to the one who provided the point of focus for doing it.
As I say, I am just touching upon these things this morning, because in many respects you are not in position to bear the truth in its fulness; but you need to see something, and not function on a blind basis as has tended to be the case. Every time you rebel against that which is working through the focus point, you rebel against the Lord. You rebel against the one way by which the restoration may come, and women have been adept at finding remarkable schemes by which they think to avoid this necessity, indulging in all kinds of fanciful attitudes and ideas in order to get around it. Of course patterns of personal like and dislike come in, but there is very little recognition of what it is that underlies these things.
So here it is, open for you to see in the measure that you have purity of heart, in the measure that you can be trustedAnd there are those who have of course played particular parts in support. I could mention names here, but I would particularly emphasize those who have been willing to stand in the limelight, so to speak, in what we have called positions of focalization in the Unit. There have always been plenty to rebel against that and condemn that, but all who indulge in such selfishness, self-centeredness, can have no part or place or understanding of part or place in the fulfilment of the divine purposes, because these things are absolute. They are not based upon human likes or dislikes, your ideas or anyone else's, but upon that which is fitting and right and required for the fulfilment of the divine purposes. That is all. If you do not like it, you either need to learn to like it or depart. This is absolute. We have come to an absolute point.
I am not interested in maintaining a house-divided state in the pattern here—or anywhere for that matter, but it starts here because this is where I am at this moment. There must be agreement and support. There must be the beginnings of understanding of what it is that we are engaged in, so that all the pattern of foolishness is relinquished. And this morning I have spoken to you in a way that I have not spoken before. I have pointed to something of which I have not said anything in this direct sense before, although from the standpoint of principle it has been there, waiting acceptance—and it is something no one can evade, no one can get around. I praise God for each one who has been providing support in this outworking to enable it to come this far, in spite of all that has been done to prevent it. Perhaps you can search your own hearts to determine how much you have participated at any time in trying to prevent it, for that is contending with the Lord and it brings its own reward—not a very pleasant one.
What unutterable foolishness to contend with the Lord. He cannot be defeated, and those in the female pattern who are willing to face honestly the truth of what it means to serve, and to be in place, must necessarily pass through some very rigorous training. None of you have had to experience such training as Lillian and Grace have necessarily had to experience. None of you have come anywhere near it, and here we begin to see how the female arrogance projects itself forward on the basis of the human pattern, never having experienced what is required. The beginning point of that experience comes as there is the acceptance and the support of those who have the foundation upon which to stand. Only in that way can there be a sharing of that foundation—no other way. It cannot be done any other way. Anything else merely projects human arrogance into the picture.
And so this is that which is offered to you this morning, and through you to all responding women everywhere, that there may begin to be that true, understanding willingness to come out of her, to come out of that arrogant, fallen female—the body of fallen women. Lillian and Grace have been chosen by the Lord, trained by the Lord, brought into position by the Lord, actually from the moment that they came into the world, to do a specific job; and it is obvious, in view of the fact that this job has never been done, that the vast majority of women—all women, to start with—will seek to prevent it from happening. There needs to be a recognition of these things so that that which is inside may be seen for what it is and met whenever it rears its extremely ugly head.
Woman, as God created woman to be, is perfect—wonderful, beautiful, lovable—but from my standpoint the arrogant fallen female has absolutely no attraction or appeal to me. I do not care how beautiful her form or features may be. She means nothing to me. Only those who are willing to come out of her begin to mean something and begin to become the beautiful creation of God. I recognize that that creation is present in relationship to each one, and there have been evidences of its emergence through you in various ways up to a certain point, but out of her you must come if you are to be of the smallest value to the Lord—to me. You cannot come out of her without accepting that focus point which represents the process of coming out and clearing through, and giving it support, understanding support, so that you recognize that, if at any moment something appears in you which attempts to persuade you to rebel and to take away that support, you know exactly what it is: the focus of evil in the world, what we might well call the antichrist.
God chooses. What was it our Master said? "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you." God does the choosing, no one else; and He chooses right. He is not uncomprehending. He is not naive. He is not foolish. He knows exactly what He is doing, He knows exactly how to do it, and no fallen female does.
Trust! Trustworthiness! Blessed be those who trust the Lord. Blessed be those who acknowledge the wisdom of the Lord. Blessed be those who give themselves to the Lord, for through them shall the fulfilment of God's purposes come, through them the way shall be opened. So it is established unto you and unto all who will receive it.
Most gracious LORD, Thou hast appointed and established that which is needful for the fulfilment of Thy purposes, and that appointment is made manifest under Thy dominion through Thy servant who speaks these words. Blessed are they who hear these words and understand. Woe unto those who reject them. In Thy Holy Name, my LORD and KING, I welcome each Divine Woman who relinquishes her arrogance and receives at my hand, that that which is extended by Thee through me may be known on earth to Thy Glory — to Thy Glory, O LORD, in the fulfilment of Thy purposes, in the Christ.Aum-en.

Our Spiritual History — Our Spiritual Destiny

This is our evening Service of Sunday, the 22nd day of the eighth month of 1954, the first day of the week, and we come together that we may share in this hour of meditation, trusting that I may find the right words to convey that which I would present to you, and trusting, also, that your response will be such as to make possible the giving of that which is made so freely available of the Spirit of God. First of all, I would express my appreciation of the manner in which, by and large, you have all been holding steady and, I think, been growing up a little, sharing in an increased understanding of what it means to move toward the point of becoming mature men and women.
This process of waking up, growing up, has been going on, not only here in this Unit but also at Sunrise, and elsewhere in the LORD's Harvest Field, so that there has been a deep realization that it is time to put away childish things and begin to play our part in that Program and Ministry to which we are called in the Name of our LORD and KING, assuming responsibility and recognizing that we are not here to please ourselves, we are not here to follow out the fancies of the human mind and heart, but simply to serve our KING. And one of the essential factors that has been brought so vividly to point by reason of the events and circumstances through which we have been passing [the death of Uranda, Kathy, Al & the children] comes to focus in the recognition of the limitation of time. We have so little time.
Perhaps we may recognize that, while tragedy is never God's Will, nevertheless this particular experience has been an essential factor, if the job for which we are here is to be done. I do not say that in a sense that God designed it to be so. No. There was a better way. But, because of the lethargy, because of the dullness of human hearts and minds, because of the failure in vibrancy of response, the outworking cycles have been so slow in relationship to that field where our particular responsibility rests that it was getting to be so far out of balance with the progress in other fields, the scientific development, for instance, in the world, and the rapidity of progress which is so much in evidence there, while here, in relationship to this pattern where the control with respect to those things out there is supposed to manifest, there was a lagging.
Consequently, we were reaching a point where the balance was so much upset that on the basis of the established cycles it just simply was not going to work out. If we had another century or two, or even another fifty years, perhaps, finally, human beings, somewhere, somehow, might have woken up sufficiently to assume their proper place in the scheme of things, but there just simply is not that length of time.
If there is to be control in relationship to these fields of progress—science, medicine, elsewhere—it must manifest through a control pattern established on earth, and we have hadthe opportunity to share in letting that control pattern be established. But the progress in establishing it has been so slow that the developments out there in these other fields have got way ahead of it, and, consequently, if this little tragedy—we think of it in the sense of a few people, a great tragedy in other ways—can cause that to be accomplished which will avert the greater tragedy, in relationship to the whole human race, then, surely, it was worthwhile. The cycles that were established on the basis of the degrees of response made manifest, inevitably led toward tragedy of some kind. That has been emphasized over and over. How often have you heard me say, “We do not want any tragedies”? And how often, “What does it take to cause human beings to wake up?”
So, because we have this limitation of time, if something is not done quickly the situation is out of hand, the control is not adequately present on earth in relationship to these other things, and we can see a vast tragedy looming before the human race. Because of the limitation of time, then, there was a need for a shift in the pattern, a change, in such a way that perchance the shock might have the required effect that the long years of Ministry had not. And, during the last two weeks, there has been a growing up, a greater assumption of responsibility, the initiation of something that can yet appear, and must appear. And I thank God for that which has been working in your hearts and minds. So, we may recognize that this tragedy is, in fact, an open door set before us.
I would like to read to you a short passage from the 24th Chapter of Matthew: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.”
We might recognize various applications with respect to these words, but, in times past we have seen that that which needs to be worked out on the grand scale, that which needs to be accomplished in relationship to the world, for instance, must first be accomplished in miniature. It is because our Master, as an individual, moved through the cycle of His life, here in the world, that the Way was opened for the whole world, not simply because He did it as an individual, so that that somehow, magically, made salvation possible for everyone else, without everyone else doing something also. No. But the cycle was set in motion, the Way was opened, by which all who should choose might share in that which He initiated. And so, with respect to all cycles of outworking, there is the need for accomplishing something in miniature, and we know, from our own standpoint, that these essential changes must come in ourselves as individuals if we are to anticipate that they shall come in the world. In this particular pattern of outworking, then, this circumstance with which we have been faced, in the events that have transpired, we find something which corresponds to that which is here stated.
“The sun shall be darkened.” The sun is the positive expression, or symbolizes the positive expression of the Spirit of God on earth. “The sun shall be darkened, and the moon”—the negative aspect—“shall not give her light.” We have found this circumstance to be true in relationship to Uranda and Kathy. “The sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light.” In manifestation, in form on earth, the sun and the moon are physical bodies. “And the stars shall fall from heaven”—literally so, the sun and the moon and the stars. “And the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.” And where are the powers of Heaven supposed to be manifesting? In you, is it not, and in those who share with you the responsibilities of this ministry? “And the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.” Have you been shaken any?
“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven.” The Son of Man—what would the Son of Man be? That which is brought forth through Man, would it not? That which expresses from Man. That which is made manifest by reason of Man. This refers, specifically, then, in the manner in which it is used, to the True Being of Man, just as the Son of God is the True Being of God, revealed, made manifest. And the True Being of Man is the True Being of God made manifest on earth. “The sign of the Son of Man”—the evidence, that which reveals the True Being of Man on earth. And it is in Heaven, and we know that Heaven is not very far away. Heaven and earth are one, in fact, except insofar as the consciousness of man is concerned, in his fallen state. The evidence, then, of the True Being of Man must appear in Heaven, in the invisible realm, right here on earth. “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven”—the True Being of Man, something which gives evidence of maturity, of the acceptance of responsibility, of becoming men and women as God created them be. Here we have a cycle of outworking which reveals that which should appear, and which, to some degree, has been appearing.
“And then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn.” That which is centered in the world causes mourning. You know, we need to be centered in True Being, in that which is, not in that which you think is not. To the degree that you have been centered in something that was not there, or you thought was not there any more, you have found cause for mourning, for sadness, for grief, emptiness. If you are centered in something that is not there, you are centered in nothing, and consequently you will be empty inside. But if you are centered in that which is, that which is present now, Real Being, then you are centered in that which is, and that which is, is the source of all that is needful in relationship to ourselves. There is no emptiness. So, let us not be of the tribes of the earth who mourn. We are not centered in that which is below us but in that which is above us. What is it that is above us? The True Being of God, and the True Being of God is not any less today than it was a week ago, or a month ago, or a year ago, or a thousand years ago. The True Being of God is just as full and perfect now, in this hour, as it ever was.
“And they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory”—the Son of Man, the True Being of Man made manifest on earth, comingin the Clouds of Heaven. The Cloud of Glory. We shall be considering something more with respect to this Cloud in the days to come, but there is to be power and great glory, and power results from the Presence, in active expression, of the Spirit of God. “And ye shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you.” Power and great glory. Glory relates to life, the glory of life on earth.
We find in these words, as we touch upon them briefly, something which relates to the pattern as we have seen it unfolding, and as we, ourselves, have experienced it. We may recognize that there is far more, in relationship to the application, than we have seen thus far, but nevertheless, in this, which in one sense is a miniature cycle, is here revealed for our edification, words spoken by our Master nineteen centuries ago. And we have before us an open door for the fulfilment of those purposes to which Uranda's life was, and is, dedicated, and to which our lives are dedicated as we let ourselves be compelled to fulfil our responsibilities under the influence and the control of the Spirit of God.
There is that, in relationship to this particular cycle of outworking, which I would bring to focus tonight, if I may, trusting you. So often, in times past, sacred and holy things have been committed to the charge of human beings who were supposed to be responsible, and they have betrayed the trust, destroyed and disrupted, that which could, and should, have been a blessing. But we come to the point now where I feel that I may trust you, by reason of that measure of growing up which you have been doing this last little while, trust you to keep sacred and holy those precious things which God commits to our charge. Our Master instructed, “Cast not your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under feet and turn again and rend you.” That, sometimes in times past, has been the pattern, but I feel that the swine of the impure heart and the self-active mind may have been sufficiently cleansed and stilled that if I commit pearls to your charge you shall not trample them under feet nor turn again and rend me, for we must move forward, and we must prove trustworthy.
And the things of which I would speak are for you, to keep sacred, just as God instructed in the beginning, when he planted the Garden Eastward in Eden and told man to keep it and to dress it, to hold it precious, to give it form, the Spirit of it, in living, but not in talking, speaking out of turn. And that is one of the problems we have had to deal with all the time, people talking, talking, talking, not knowing enough to keep quiet, not recognizing the sacredness of the responsibility that rests upon them, of all the people of the earth. Of all the people of the earth, there must be those who are found to be trustworthy, who can keep sacred things sacred, who do not classify themselves as swine, trampling pearls under feet and rending those through whom the pearls are made manifest. That has been so often made manifest, in times past.
Have we now come to the point where we can be trusted? If we have not yet come to that point, having passed through these events, what would it take to bring us to that point? If you stop to consider anything that might have been more of a test, something that you could have devised that would have been a more violent shock to you, I would like to know what it would be other than this present outworking. And if this does not do it, what else will? So, having the opportunity before us, the open door, and not being able, myself, to conceive of anything which would produce the desired result other than that which has transpired, we must assume that it has produced the desired result. That is the only basis upon which we can move forward, and that you can be trusted adequately, at this point, to keep sacred things sacred, and to recognize pearls when you see them.
Seven years ago, when I first moved into the pattern to take my place of responsibility with Uranda, we came into agreement upon certain matters, in the recognition that “Where two of you shall agree on earth as touching the things of God, it shall be done of our Father which is in Heaven.” In 1947—seven years ago—we came into agreement as touching certain matters. I have, here, a copy in which these points of agreement are set out. I do not propose to read all of them to you tonight—just certain ones, which we need to recognize and accept. When we come into agreement in relationship to the things of God we do not arbitrarily say, “It must work out this way, or that way. It must be this individual or that individual. It must be within this specified time.” We place no limitations upon it, and we say, simply, that it must work out in God's Way, according to His Will. And His Will is allowed to find manifestation on earth according to the responses of human beings. And so, sometimes, something becomes God's Will, not because it was originally God's Will but because human beings make it so, and the events in our Master's life, the conclusion of His Ministry, were just that. It became God's Will because there was no other way. And in relationship to this pattern, it has become God's Will because there was no other way, for human beings would allow no other way to appear. And so we have these points of agreement:
1. “We agree on earth that the Currents of Divine Power must now properly focalize to allow all obstacles to be removed by correct procedures, at the earliest possible point in the cycle consistent with the Divine Plan and Will in order to permit the manifestation of the ideal balance and blending of the Positive and Negative phases of the focalization of the Spirit of Life on earth.”
Now you have recognized that the Spirit of Love finds focus in our LORD and KING; and the Spirit of Truth finds focus in Uranda; and the Spirit of Life finds focus in me. By reason of the pattern of this outworking, we come to the point where the Spirit of Love and the Spirit of Truth come to balance in the Spirit of Life. The Spirit of Love and the Spirit of Truth are both invisible. There is no specific focalization for the Spirit of Truth in individual form, on earth, just as there is no specific focalization, in individual form, of the Spirit of Love on earth. But Life is the child of Love and Truth—fathered by Love and mothered by Truth—and the balance of Love and Truth, then, comes to focus in the Spirit of Life. And what is it that our Ministry is designed to accomplish? To make possible the Resurrection and the Life for the world—without tragedy. There will be some tragedy, but without that vast tragedy which will appear, surely and certainly, unless the essential elements of control are established on earth. Through whom? Through you, and through those who share with you in this Ministry. Who else would do it? And so, the Spirit of Life needs to enter into you so that you may know the Reality of the Resurrection and the Life—perhaps we might say a miniature cycle in relationship to you, and it is that toward which we have been moving all these years, so that the greater manifestation may be allowed to appear. But unless, and until, it appears through you and through those who share with you in this Ministry, it cannot appear in the world.
2. “We agree on earth that it is absolutely essential to the fulfilment of the Commission that rests, by Divine Decree of the LORD of Lords, upon the ordained focalization of the Spirit of Life on earth, that he shall draw to himself, by the irresistible cords of Love, the ideal negative aspect of himself, that there may be a manifestation of perfect balance in the expression of the Spirit of Life on earth, as ordained by the Creator from the foundation of the world.”
3. “We agree on earth, that the culmination in manifestation of the union of the positive and negative phases of the focalization of the Spirit of Life, in the Negative Triune World, is properly recognized as symbolizing, and as being essential to, the absolute focalization and initial creative climax of the union of the Lord of the Sacred Seven and His Bride, the One Christ Body on earth.”
We came to agreement seven years ago, without questioning as to how these fulfillments should appear. Certainly, at that time, we had no expectation that this particular pattern should be the basis for the outworking, but, coming into agreement on earth, it shall be done. And so, we find, in the natural cycles unfolding, that during the course of these seven years, I have, in the sense of providing the Positive Focalization of the Spirit of Life on earth, stood alone. I do not mean to say that you, and others, have not worked with me in the pattern, playing your parts. I would not be here now if that were not so. But it has taken seven years to come to the point where the cycles have cleared and the way is open for the fulfilment, or the initial phases of the fulfilment, in relationship to these points of agreement.
Some of you have known Lillian for a number of years. You have watched her, according to your understanding, playing her part in the pattern of focalization which Uranda had established. In that regard, she would be the first to admit that she had been put through a rigorous training, a training that few, if any, other women on the face of the earth would have been willing to pass through. And in that focalization she has provided a focus for the Spirit of the New Earth, here in the world. That has been her place. And in that place she has a peculiar relationship to all of you, and to all who are a part of this Ministry. The New Earth—and you are moving into the pattern of the manifestation of the One Christ Body on earth, which is to be the New Earth. And that which needs to work out in the cycles of fulfilment for the whole has been, is, and will be, working out in the one who provides the focus of the Spirit of the New Earth, here, for you. So it is that naturally, in the unfolding cycles, she moves into her place to stand at my side. And you may recognize something that, while we have had sorrow, yet reveals how it is that sorrow may be turned to joy, joy in which we all may share, for we behold the outworking cycles of God's Will on earth, not because anyone tried to make it so, not because it was all figured out in advance, not because there was any insistence that it had to be within a certain period of time, but because there has been trust, patience, and the steadfast fulfilment of responsibility, that it might appear in the Seasons of the Lord. And so is it established. As the necessary legal aspects of the matter can be worked out, Lillian will become my wife.
I know that it would have been Uranda's desire, a desire closest to his heart, to have been here in person to conduct the marriage ceremony. It is not actually necessary that he should be, but that would have been my desire, too. From the standpoint of the Divine Pattern, from the standpoint of God's Will in the fulfilment of these agreements, it is established. And in conformity with the Laws of God and of man there are certain other formalities which must be allowed to operate. But, if you can see in this, which has brought so much joy to my heart—and I believe to Lillian's, and I trust, to yours—the sure working of the Power of God on earth, when the essential factors are here on earth to let it work, then you may have confidence to move with assurance into that position which is your responsibility in letting the Power of God work.
You know, Uranda and I came into agreement because we were both here. That was the basis of our agreement. He is no longer here. I cannot come into agreement with him on earth any more! And we had, stretched between us on the surface of the earth, a line—a life-line—the base of a triangle, but insofar as he and I are concerned, that line is no longer on the surface of the earth. That line is still there, yes. There is a line just the same, to him and to the LORD of Lords. There has been no change in that respect, except that it does not manifest on the surface of the earth. But there is a line on the surface of the earth, and the maintenance of that line is your responsibility, and the responsibility of the Unit at Sunrise Ranch, because that line stretches between you and them now. Uranda and I maintained it together for seven years. We held the line for seven years, and now it is up to you to hold the line, to hold your end of the line, your point. And you may remember, just before I left you, after Christmas last year, that I told you that it was expedient for you that I go away. I told you that this place was your responsibility, not mine. You may have believed me, perhaps, intellectually speaking, but I do not think you really saw what I was saying. Perhaps you begin to see it now.
This is your responsibility, right here, as a Unit, in agreement with each other and in agreement with the Unit at Sunrise Ranch, that together you may hold that line stretched upon the surface of the earth, the line by which all things were created in the beginning. The Lord asked Job if he knew who stretched the line upon it. You have come to know who did it, and now it is yours, it is for you. And because the balance and blending in the Spirit of Life, in relationship to the positive and negative phases, appears in manifestation on earth, the Way is wide open for you. An open door has been set before you.
I thank God for you, each and every one. I thank God for those who serve so faithfully on Sunrise Ranch, each and every one. I thank God for those who serve so faithfully in the field, wherever they may be, each and every one; for, all together, in the oneness of the Spirit of God, finding focus on earth in the Spirit of Life made manifest in you, God's Will may be done, the Purposes of His coming into the world justified and made meaningful, and the outworking with respect to Uranda, Kathy, Al, and the children, not something in vain. “And ye shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you.” God Bless you as you let it be so. In Martin's June 23, 1962 service, he shores up the foundation upon which a great expansion of the Word was to take place. In this expansion we were drawn to participate in the greatest story ever told. This is no small thing.
We spoke in our recent Temple of Light service about the thickness of the Cloud proceeding forth from Solomon's Temple and the consequent immobilization of the priests. Martin was preparing the priesthood to 'hold' this kind of substance even back then!
