The Dawn of a New Day

The  Dawn  of  a  New  Day

from

The Altar and the Shekinah #1

Martin Cecil   January 10, 1971

The word Shekinah describes the evidence of the presence of the One Who Dwells. In seeking to understand the real meaning of Shekinah we have recognized three aspects with respect to it: the cloud of glory, the light that glows, and the fire that burns.

If there is to be worship of the Lord there must be an altar. The altar provides the place of worship, the means by which contact is made with the Lord, and therefore must relate to the evidence of the presence of the Lord. The altar obviously is not the evidence of the presence of the Lord, the physical form of the altar, but there is something about the altar that is—it provides the means by which the evidence may come to be known. We see this altar as a living altar, composed of physical substance, the physical forms of people, but again it isn't the mere fact of the physical form that is the evidence of the presence. There is something about a physical form that gives that evidence. The glow of life, should we call it?—the cloud of glory.

The altar of the Lord is composed of human beings in form on earth, and it provides the place of worship on earth. The altar of the Lord is, then, characterized by Shekinah. There is the cloud of glory, which is the evidence of life shining round about—the evidence of the life of the angel of the Lord individually speaking, the evidence of the presence of the Lord collectively speaking. It is to this altar that people may come to worship God. The altar simply gives evidence of the presence of the One Who Dwells. There is something about the altar that does this. Initially it's the cloud of glory, the fact of beautiful life, glorious life. We know the presence of life because of the physical form. The altar must be there to know it. The life, which characterizes the Lord, cannot be known unless the altar is present, the physical form is there.

The evidence of the presence of the Lord is made abundantly clear when there is an altar of the Lord on earth to which people may come to worship because the cloud of glory is there; it shines round about. But initially speaking there is no temple, just an altar, just a place of worship to which people may come if they will; not to worship the altar but, through the evidence of the presence of the Lord, to worship the Lord.

The altar of the Lord permits the glory of the Lord to shine round about, and it is this which makes possible the true worship of God to be restored on earth. It can't occur at all unless there is an altar at which the Lord may be worshipped. Insofar as mankind is concerned, and in fact all that is on the surface of this earth, there must rightly be an altar which makes possible the evidence of the presence of the Lord in a specific sense, for people to worship.

The Lord is made known by the evidence of His presence, by the Word made flesh. His nature becomes comprehensible in this way, so that it may be given worth, value. That is worship. People come in yielded response to this place where the evidence of the presence of the Lord is and they are transformed, and the temple begins to take form round about the altar. The temple is filled with the glory of the Lord. The temple is primarily mankind, but it becomes a temple only as there is an altar first. Then the glory of the Lord may fill the temple and shine round about that again in all the earth, through mankind. But the rebuilding of the altar comes first.

This relates to what has been called the priesthood, the priesthood after the order of Melchizedek. Melchizedek was King of Salem, King of peace—after the order of the King of peace; after the nature, the character, the quality, of the King of peace. This is the priesthood. The priesthood gives this evidence on earth and they compose the altar, the means by which the body of mankind may worship the Lord. People all through the ages have been seeking the Lord, seeking some way of worshipping Him; but the altar has been missing and so it has been a vague thing, so vague to some that they decided there wasn't anything present, there was nothing to worship. It becomes vividly evident that there is something to worship as the altar is rebuilt and the glory of the Lord shines round about.

Shekinah!—the evidence of the presence of the One Who Dwells, revealed by reason of the altar of the Lord, by reason of the priesthood after the order of Melchizedek. Orderly, true to the true design, and of the quality and nature of the King of peace. When the altar of the Lord is rebuilt on earth there is a place of worship on earth, and the children of men may come. Some will come. Some are more interested in building their own altars and calling on their own gods. But the word of the Lord is spoken through Shekinah, "Come unto me!" The altar itself is a vibrant invitation to come again to the Lord. To the extent that there are those who accept the order of Melchizedek for themselves the priesthood begins to take form and the altar of the Lord is rebuilt. The glory of the Lord begins to shine round about as the light that glows again.

We know that all this comes to pass because there is a cleansing or clarifying process experienced by those concerned. Four barrels of water poured three times: the water of truth soaking the consciousness of those who offer themselves to the experience, and soaking their bodies, all of them. The altar of the Lord must be rebuilt on earth if the temple of the Lord is to reappear, and the temple of the Lord is mankind restored. But it doesn't just happen by chance. There is a creative cycle, a creative process. We have some experience of it. But let us see that it is far greater than some of the concepts we may have developed. It extends way beyond the restrictions of consciousness that we have tended to maintain. As the altar of the Lord emerges rebuilt, this is part of the appearance of the cosmic plan unfolding on earth. We are here to participate in that.

The light that glows is, amongst other things, the light of illumination, the restoration of true understanding. So it comes to us. The light comes gently, and the glory of the Lord shines round about. What blessing indeed it is to know the coming of the light! That's the dawn, isn't it?—the dawn of a new day. What glory fills the sky at dawn! What a moving experience it is for those who are awake, or awakening, to see the dawn.

Those who have some consciousness of the truth of these things carry the responsibility of all this into the world. I thank God for you and for others who play your vital and vibrant parts. Glory to God in the highest!

Focalization Of Diety

That  Your  Joy  Might  Be  Full

from  Focalization Of Deity

Uranda   April 10, 1954

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full

I doubt if there are many here tonight who would say that they have reached that point where their joy is full. Each one here has shared something of that joy, but there are still those parts or places in body and mind and heart where there is that which is not joy, that which does not give joy. But our Master said: "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."

It is God's desire, God's longing, that we should know the joy of the Lord. In another place the Master expressed it with respect to those who revealed themselves as good and faithful servants. "Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." How can we enter into the joy of the Lord and let it come into life in the fulness of that which is of the divine design?

It is in the fruit of our lives that we find satisfaction, that we begin to know the joy of the Lord. The Master indicated that it is through the Word, the Word of the Father, the Word of truth, that we may become clean. To purge is to cleanse, and we are to become clean through the Word of the Father, the Word of truth. We remember His word, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free"—free of those things which contaminate, free to enjoy the clean expression of life.

We recognize that from the standpoint of our healing ministry, if there is some ill condition the great need is that the body should become clean, and the cleansing must be carried out until the temple is clean. As the process of cleansing takes place the process of healing takes place.

"Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."

Implications

Implications

Martin Cecil   August 5, 1979

From time to time I receive letters, or indication from certain ones, that while they had a sense or feeling of agreement with what I was saying, they didn’t really understand everything I was talking about. If anything could shock me this would, in most instances.

Now we utilize certain words, and have done over a long period of time. If I have to go back to square one and start all over again to acquaint everyone with what we are talking about when a certain word is used, we would never get anywhere, would we? I think I have a right by now to assume that there is understanding. I think this matter of a lack of understanding tends to give indication of a cop-out. The individual has never bothered to develop implications for himself.

In another letter of response I had, the statement was made that everything that needed to be said was said in one service; all the implications were there. That is true—just one service, each service. Everything that needs to be said is said in that service. If the individual will follow out the implications, he will have just as much understanding as he assumes I have. If I give evidence of some understanding it is simply that I have taken the trouble to follow out implications.

I don’t have a special pipeline out of heaven somehow which acquaints me with all the information that is needed about everything; nothing special at all along that line, merely a willingness to move in the current of the spirit and allow the implications to be made known. And who has no ability in this regard?

I would suggest that if a person reaches the point, when things are said, where he is inclined to excuse himself by saying, “Well I have a feeling of agreement with this but I don’t really understand it,” maybe he is the one who should go back to square one. Why should it be supposed that it is necessary for me to make everything clear to everybody? Why don’t you allow it to be made clear for yourself? That is the only way it will be made clear. I may give you a feeling of making something clear to you but you discover later that it wasn’t made clear to you because you didn’t participate in anything more than the hearing; you didn’t follow out the implications; you didn’t take the trouble to do so.

I am speaking to you generally. I’m speaking to a lot of people generally besides those who are here present this evening And there are those who are here present this evening, and there are those elsewhere, who have followed out implications and have allowed a clarity to come, so that when I speak of things, immediately they are right there. They know what I am talking about. We need to keep moving forward, and if anyone finds himself with a blank, with no sense of understanding, then that person had better go back and start from square one again.

If everything that is needed is provided in each service, all the implications being there, then surely on the basis of all the services that have been given all the implications should have by now been absorbed into a second nature, so that when I begin to speak about something there is a flood of the implications into consciousness immediately. That is what is meant by agreement, by being together, by moving in oneness. If you’re sucking your teeth, or whatever you do when you don’t understand, if you are sitting there doing that, then you are utterly worthless.

What floods your consciousness when I begin to touch upon something which you have heard before? These attitudes which arise indicate that the individual thinks that I never said anything about it before, this is the first time; therefore they can't understand. Oh yes you can! Everyone can understand if they have not only heard but done something, and one of the things to do is to follow out the implications. Don’t ever claim for yourself a lack of understanding. That is an indication of the fact that you are embedded in human nature and are determined to stay there, because everything necessary to understanding has been provided. When you have heard the tone and your life reverberates to that tone, you have understanding; it is there.

One of the ways this is sometimes put is this: “I don’t understand it with my mind.” Well probably that is because you never learned how to think. That is sometimes presented as though it were a reasonable excuse; but your mind is for something, you know; it’s not supposed just to be a blank. When there is movement with spirit there is unfoldment in an understanding of implications because the individual takes enough trouble, enough time, to let it happen.

This is what I have been doing over the years: following out the implications. Perhaps I have done it too much, so that you felt that all that was necessary was for me to follow out all the implications; you didn’t have to do anything because I was going to provide it. But what I can provide is just a drop in the bucket relative to what should be provided by us all together. I can follow out my line of implications, but how about you following out yours? Then there begins to be substance to our understanding. You begin to share in something which carries impact. But if just left to one or two people to do it, it is very thin.

This relates to what we were talking about this morning of the need to speak, act, as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Each one properly carries authority of his own. Never trade upon someone else's supposed authority; that is a cop-out. Either what you are saying is true because you are saying it, or you’d better not say it. Don’t use anybody else to back up what you are saying or what you are doing. Whatever it is you do, take responsibility for it: “I am doing it because I’m doing it!” If you shovel it off onto somebody else, that is a sign of pretty weak character, isn’t it?

If we all took responsibility in this moment for everything we do, how long do you think it would take the world to be transformed? There is a tendency to look at the concept that is held of restoration: “Well it is going to unfold somehow or other, and one day—a little over the horizon yet—it will be here.” But from our standpoint surely we can say, “It is done! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. I will take responsibility for this myself, the water that is my responsibility to give into my world.”

Some of you may feel that you can trust me to give the water of life freely into the world. All right, let me do it; but you do it for your world! When we assume responsibility for our worlds we do not hesitate to give expression to the spirit of God in our particular circumstances, our worlds, our environment; but we do it for ourselves. After all, nobody else can do it in your world. So we each do it, and when we do it there begins to emerge into expression what has been referred to as the holy spirit. Here is the outpouring of the holy spirit. Human beings sit around waiting for the holy spirit to pour out upon them, give them a good soaking. Well the opportunity for that has been provided, I think, over the years in this ministry. Something has been poured out in abundance to give everybody a good soaking. But we are collectively responsible for pouring this out to give the world a good soaking.

We know the tone. Let us see the implications. You’ve heard what I’ve had to say this evening. You’ve all heard it if you were listening and not dozing. This indicates that there is also something to do. All that is necessary is to acknowledge the reality of the tone of life and let that tone of life sound in one’s own living; that’s all! Then one will find that everything falls naturally into place. There may appear to be contradictions in external form but they only appear to be that way as long as a person is not moving in the current of the spirit in the expression of the true tone of life. As soon as he does that everything harmonizes.

So we acknowledge the fact that we understand. If we can still convince ourselves that we don’t, or if we haven’t had sufficient opportunity yet to become really acquainted with the tone of life, then let’s go back to square one and start all over again; because it is all there, it is all there! As was certainly correctly indicated, even in one presentation the implications are all there. Let us not admit that we are so lazy that we couldn’t be bothered to find out what they were, but rather let us be in fact sons and daughters of God who carry responsibility for the world, and we are quite willing to receive whatever of the world the Lord would present us with. He presents us with whatever it is we are in position to handle now. We handle what we handle now—there’s some more coming! There’s quite a bit more coming. There is an immense backlog of human garbage.

We are here to let this be handled as it should, so that the world may be transformed by the spirit of God, which is the expression of our living; but this requires intelligence and understanding. We can easily handle what it is that is being brought to us, what it is that is on our plate. It wouldn’t be on our plate if we couldn’t handle it. Let us have that assurance. And if we think we need more know-how somehow, well let’s be diligent in discovering what that know-how is for ourselves. Let us not expect someone else to hand it to us. No one else can hand it to us! We can only know it on the basis of our own discovery of it. Then we know it.

If you think you know something merely because I said it, have another think! You know something when you are capable of saying it and know that it is true for yourself. You don’t need any backup on that, because it is the spirit of God which is finding expression because you are present. So let it be always.
