The Solar Entity
“The first of all
the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God
is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy
strength: this is the first commandment.” How can we begin
to see wholeness, oneness? The extent to which we can begin to experience that
wholeness in our outlook and in our living will be the extent to which we know
the truth.
When we look at
the solar system we are inclined to see it fractionally: there is the sun at
the center and there are planets in their orbits around the sun—in simple terms
these are the main points—but the solar system might be better described as a
solar entity, because it is one thing. When we look at our own bodies we see
one thing. We are aware of the fact that there are parts, but we are assured of
the integral nature of the body.
Looking at the
solar system and describing it as a solar entity we may see an immense sphere.
This immense sphere has the sun at its center, what we call the sun, a physical
body of some kind presumably, very hot and very big, relative to the earth. But
that is the core of the solar entity; it isn't anything all by itself.
The term
"magnetosphere" perhaps describes something which may indicate the
extent of the solar entity. Perhaps we could not put any boundaries on it
actually, but, for sake of a new vision of what we have called the solar
system, we may see the solar entity as extending to and beyond the orbit of the
outermost planet—the sun's magnetosphere. Our capacity to discern does not
include, at the moment at least, the discernment of the magnetosphere. It is
there nevertheless, just as real, just as solid, in a sense, as the sun itself.
If we imagine
this solar entity as a vast vibrational sphere, that is an interpretation of
something that is true, and perhaps it might be said that the interpretation in
this fashion is nearer to the truth of the matter than some of the other
separatist interpretations. We see how this separatist business permeates all
areas of human experience. People want to maintain their state of separation,
as though there is something valuable in it, as though "my" culture is
better than "your" culture—all of it is based in this separatist
approach, so the true culture is never seen; because, after all, if there is
human culture of various types, it must spring from some reality. The human
culture which comes out on the surface is not the reality, because it has been
misinterpreted by reason of the separateness which has now become so inherent
in the state of human consciousness. We are concerned to awaken to the state of
oneness.
Where people are
polarized in the earth, they see everything in terms of earthly cause and
effect, as it is considered to be; but this is a very superficial view, because
everything that is happening is happening by reason of what is back of the
surface event, or at the higher level of vibration. There is something emerging through everything that is working out, and
so one thing is not really a cause of another thing, in the surface sense. The
things that are happening in the surface sense are simply reactions of various
kinds, on the basis of this separate condition in human consciousness, to what
is emerging vibrationally speaking, what is emerging from the original point.
This is
particularly emphasized with respect to our solar entity. Obviously, the solar
entity is not something separate from the rest of the universe. There is what
might be called a galaxy entity, of which our solar entity is an essential
element. We see, then, a much greater sphere of some kind, vibrationally
speaking, of which we have an awareness because of the level of vibration which
we discern as physical substance. We also discern,
with our instruments, other levels of vibration which are included in this vast
galaxy entity, but then the galaxy entity is a part of something else too. Our
concern is to awaken to the awareness of wholeness, so that we don't merely see
little bits and pieces of what we call physical substance spinning around here
and there. That, indeed, is not nearly the half of it!
The only way by
which we can awaken to the truth is because we are centered at the point from
which what is emerging may come forth in our own experience. Then we are not
trying to adjust ourselves at the periphery to what is going on, but are simply
allowing what is emerging—which is the cause of what is going on, anyway—to come
forth through ourselves in our own particular field of function in the whole.
It's coming forth through everybody else too. It is coming forth and is made
evident through everything else! But if we misinterpret what it is that is
coming forth, we get everything jumbled up in our consciousness, and
everything, consequently, jumbled up in our world.
How can the
experience be a clear one unless we ourselves are clear with the point by
reason of which the coming-forth is occurring? Then our movement will be in
harmony with that coming forth; and while the movement of many other people may
not be in harmony with that, nevertheless it is not outside of what we call the
working of the Law. Human beings are always trying to set up their little
patterns out here on the periphery and, generally speaking, totally ignoring
anything that may be emerging from the focus point. Until one pays first
attention to the focus point, one cannot possibly know what it is that is
rightly emerging on the periphery. But human beings get these things set up on
the periphery, and then, because what is emerging from the center point can't
actually be stopped—it's going to emerge anyway— they find that what they'd got
all nicely set up on the periphery begins to split apart. What is emerging from
the center point is forcing it apart, and that's a painful business. There must
be a centering at the core.
Now, the first
awareness of that core is like unto our awareness of the sun—we see something.
We don't need to try to analyze what it is, but that's a first awareness. The
centering point is not the sun, as we think of it; it is a point, if we wish to
give it position, at the center of the sun, a point which has position but no
magnitude. That's the point of orientation. The sun is a very good illustration
of the flaming sword, isn't it? You can't get to that center point in the sun
without passing the periphery of the sun, which is pretty hot.
Only as we begin
to awaken to the necessity of total centering, total love, for that point,
toward that point, toward the quality and nature of that point which is
revealed most distinctly the closer one is to that point—only as there is this
total centering, can there then begin to emerge what should emerge on the
surface. To the extent that we get hung up in the surface patterns, to that
extent there will be a tendency to ignore the center point.
How much we have
considered the tone which emanates from that point and with which we rightly
associate ourselves, become familiar, discover what the quality of it is in
relationship to this aspect of our expression and to that aspect of our
expression. All this is primary, because we don't know, until we find out what
that centering point is in relationship to ourselves, what our expression
should be; so we don’t know what our relationship with
others should be.

Home
Home — His Temple On Earth
from Uranda’s Christmas Message
Uranda December 15, 1948
Tonight,
in this Christmas Season, the word, Home, contains a Spirit of fullness
and significance which we might well meditate upon. First, I am reminded that
many years ago our KING'S Home was divided. His Home originally was—and it was
supposed to be—Heaven and earth; that which we speak of as the Whole Holy
World. Perhaps you have sometimes thought of Heaven as being His Home, and it
has been, although it has been an incomplete Home for Him through all these
thousands of years.
I am
reminded that only a little under two thousand years ago He left one part of
His Home and came to visit the other part, the part that was supposed to
complete His Home. He was born into the world a Babe—into the most humble of
surroundings. He, the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, when He came into this
half of His Home, found no place awaiting Him. He was born in a manger in a
stable because there was no room for Him in the inn. The people of the world
were too busy following their own fancies and looking after their own puny
affairs to pay any attention to the fact that the LORD of the world had come.
He lived in this world, and grew to manhood, and He began His Ministry.
He
began to tell the people how this world might become that beautiful other half
of the Heavenly Home, and He assured them that that which was of the Heavenly
Home was not far away. He made clear the Plan by which the two halves might be
reunited; He made clear that the separation between the two did not have to
continue: but the people of the world, instead of welcoming the LORD of the
world, crucified Him. Nevertheless, on the third day He came forth victoriously
from the tomb, and returned to that other half of His Home, where He has been waiting
for nearly two thousand years, waiting for human beings to wake up, waiting for
human beings to put into practice His instruction, to follow His Plan, so that
He might have the privilege of coming again to this part of His Home.
Human
beings, through their self-activity, selfishness and self-centeredness, have
kept Him out of His Home, this portion of His Home, these thousands of years.
These usurpers who prevent His free use of His rightful Home will not be
tolerated forever. Sooner or later, in His own good season, He will return; but
it is His longing, His great desire that springs from His wonderful Heart of
Love, that when He comes again to this part of His Home it shall not be to
drive out all who are living here. He does not want to return to this part of
His Home and find nothing but empty rooms echoing with the deeds of evil. His
Heart desires that those who are living here now should let themselves be so
transformed and so prepared that they may remain here when He comes, that they
will not have to be cast out, and that this part of His Home will not be found
to be empty. He wants to come to this part of His Home and find those He loves,
and those who love Him. He wants that coming to be a family reunion between
those who live in this part and those who live in that part of His Home, that
the Whole Holy World may again be what it ought to be—His Home, where all the
Members of His Family live in their appointed places, in joy, in peace, in
happiness.
This
world, this part of His Home, must be cleansed and purified, the debris must be
swept out; the mean and shameful furnishings that man has put into it must be
cast out and burned; it must be cleansed, and the Sunlight of Love must shine
into every room, and those who dwell here must let themselves be changed, so
that they will not be uncomfortable in His Presence, so that they will not be
annihilated when they come before His Face, so that they will find joy in
beholding Him, and so that they may rejoice greatly, without fear, in the holy
privilege of welcoming Him back to this part of His rightful Home.
Until
we, in our Home here, begin to let the Spirit of His Home manifest, we will not
be doing very much toward preparing the way for the Union, for the reuniting,
of Heaven and earth. We have made progress, it is true. Something of His Spirit
of Love is manifest, or you would not be here; and you have recognized
something of the vision of the beauty of the Pattern of Truth, or you would not
be here; but those old patterns of the world have no meaning here. Here the
Spirit of the Home of our KING must manifest, so that when He comes again He
will be at Home, and we will be at Home with Him.
We
want to feel at Home with Him when He comes, and when He comes we want Him to
find His Home ready and waiting for Him, worthy of Him, with the Spirit of His
Home made already manifest. That is our purpose here, and when we remember the
true significance of Home, and the wonderful privilege and sacred
responsibility that is ours in helping to prepare this part of His Home for
Him, surely such a realization must have meaning by the very force and weight
of it, by the very glory and wonder of it, through every thought and word and
deed, through every hour of every day. We are here for that purpose, so that
when He comes He shall find His Home in the condition that it ought to be.
If He
were to come and stand among us tonight, in a manner that you might see Him as
He is, do you think you would be ready to say, "LORD, Thy Home is
prepared; we welcome Thee, and find joy and complete peace in Thy coming"?
Let
us, then, be about our Father's business, that we may be ready whenever He
deems it wise and proper that He should come. Let us remember always the meaning of Home, and, in this
Christmas Season, be re-dedicated through the Spirit of His Love to that Plan
and Program whereby He shall nevermore have to come and be received in a stable
or a manger, and whereby, when He shall come, in His Power and His Glory, it
will not be to wipe out and remove all who dwell here, but that there may be
those who shall await Him with joy, and welcome Him in Holy Love, ready to
serve Him and make Him feel at Home in this part of His Home, from which He has
been so long separated.
If we have been exiles from the Kingdom of Heaven, so also has our KING been an exile from this world; for, as much as we need that which is there, so does He need that which is here, that His Kingdom may be complete, and that all of His Children, all of His subjects, in the Whole Holy Word, may know that glorious world which is according to His Will.
I feel that you have all come to a deeper realization and understanding of many things tonight. Everything worthwhile is contained within the true meaning of the word, Home. We all love to be at home, but so does our KING; and how can we hope, anywhere, under any circumstance, to be at home until we can be at Home with Him, and He can be at Home with us?
Praising God for your response and prayerful meditation, and for the spirit of realization flowing through you, I must remind myself that it is needful that we go our several ways to find rest for the morrow. A time is coming when, as a Unit, we will let ourselves be so engulfed, with one accord in one place, in the Spirit of our KING, that the passage of time will have less meaning than it does now. Day by day each one is learning more of what it means to hold the vibration, to stay centered in the Central Current of Being; and when we can rest in that Current without letting it break, or without causing it to break, in its relationship to ourselves, we will be ready for something that cannot be described, and I feel that that day is coming. Constancy and consistency in our worship of the One God in Spirit and in Truth, according to the One Law, surely opens the Way, it opens the door, so that, for us now the floodgates of Heaven may be opened, and the Spirit of our KING'S Presence may be made manifest in and through us, that we may become, in Oneness, so accustomed to the Spirit of His Presence, in the full wonder of His Glory, that we will be able, and know how, to welcome Him Home.
That which the world calls home, or the people of the world call home, has meaning to me only to the degree that it helps toward preparing this world for the return Home of our KING. Anything that human beings call home, or imagine to be home, that does not do that, is meaningless, a waste of time and a futility. Here we have the privilege of proving the Reality of Home on earth, but I cannot conceive of any place or any circumstance that could be called home, or that could be of any satisfaction, or of any meaning, if our KING be excluded therefrom.
So, in these realizations, we are privileged to rest this night because we are nearer Home than ever before, and because the Day is nearer than ever before when we can have that Blessed Privilege of welcoming our KING into His Temple on earth, that Temple not made with hands.

Christmas Message To Young Explorers
from
Christmas Message to Young Explorers
Uranda December 8, 1938
This year I would address
my Christmas Message to the Young Folks—for Christmas is a time when people of
all ages feel young and happy as they let go in the true Spirit of Christmas.
So it is that on behalf of all the Young Folks of the Explorer's Club, I invite
all the adults in the Third Sacred School to be the Guests of the Young Folks'
Explorer's Club through this Christmas Season, and during the first part of the
New Year. We trust that all of you will find Joy in entering into the Spirit of
our Invitation—for Jesus said that all people needed to become as Little
Children, and this is a time of year when it is easy to be young in heart and
in Spirit, no matter what the years of the calendar ago may be. So it is that
we, the Young Explorers, welcome you as our Guests.
I have prepared a special
Christmas Poem, and we designed a special Christmas Folder for it, and had it
printed on parchment as a fitting symbol of the parchment that was used during
the time of Jesus' Ministry. On the front you will notice the three Wise Men
who are following the Star. The three Wise Men represent the three phases of
yourself, namely, your own body, your mind, and your outer Spiritual Nature.
The Star represents the Christ Light that shines forth from your own Father
within you, and as all three parts of you are wise, they will always follow the
direction of the Christ Light, or the Star, until the three human parts of you
will be blended with your own Father within you, so that you will be Born Again
Spiritually, and you will become a true Son of God.
The important thing for you
to do during this Christmas Season is to find a New and Deeper Meaning to
Christmas—you are to Explore into the Spirit of Christmas so that you can begin
to experience that greater Joy which is the Will of God for you. In this
Message I am going to help you have the right attitude toward Christmas, so
that you can begin to find many wonderful and interesting things that you have
never even thought about before.
Not long ago one of the
wide awake Young Explorers asked about the time of Jesus' birth. We all know
that the Christmas Holidays are supposed to celebrate the birth of Jesus, in
Bethlehem. The story of His birth never grows old, and it is told in many ways;
in song, in poetry and in prose.
Jesus was not born on
December 25th, even though we celebrate His birth on that day. There is no
exact record of just what day of the week Jesus was born on, nor of the day or
month. However, we know that He was born in the Spring, and not at the beginning
of Winter. In the Third Sacred School we accept the 7th of March as the Birth
Date of Jesus, in the year 4 B.C.
You are not all supposed to
know just what it means now, but I would mention that Jesus came in the early
part of the great Water Age—and Water is the symbol of Truth—and He was born
384 years after the beginning of the Water Age. The Water Age ended in 1768
A.D., just 270 years ago, and the great Air Age began at that time. Air is the
symbol of Spirit, just as Water is the symbol of Truth. So now we are in the
Spirit Age, or Age of turning to the Spiritual Life, just as Jesus came in the
Truth Age, or the Age when Truth was given to man. Jesus said, "I am the
Truth." In this you will see that we have a great many things to Explore into
as we go along the Way.
Now let us find out why the
birth of Jesus is celebrated on December 25, instead of on the day when He
really was born. The Apostle John, who was so close to Jesus all through His
Ministry, lived to be a very old man, and after he left the earth, there was no
one who took the lead in Living and Teaching the Christ Life. Soon after John the Revelator passed to the Inner
Planes, the true Spiritual Teachings of Jesus were forgotten by most people,
and what they did remember they mixed with their own ideas to please
themselves. By the time 300 years from the time of Jesus' birth had passed,
there was not anyone, anywhere in the then known world, who was really letting
the true Christ Light shine forth. The human ideas had been given more attention
than the Truth, and by giving attention to the "letter" of the law,
the Spirit of it was ignored. So it was at that time that the Dark Ages of
history began.
Before this time, that
which has now developed into the Roman Catholic Church had been started. The
man who really started the Catholic Church was a very devout follower of the
Christ, but others who sought to have power over the people soon took control
away from him. Shortly, those who were giving first attention to the Spirit and
the Truth were crowded out of authority, and a selfish priesthood began to develop.
In the fourth century after Christ, the Catholic Church began to grow rapidly,
gaining converts from the so-called pagan countries. Because they claimed to
follow Christ, they were called Christians.
In order to make it easy
for the sun worshippers, and other so-called pagans, to become so-called
Christians, the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church made it a practice to take
the Holy Days of the people, change their names, and then let the people keep
the same Holy Days that they always had. There was a certain people that had a
great festival for Seven days between the close of the old year and the
beginning of the New Year. These Holy Days—for that is what Holidays really
mean—began on what we call December 25 and lasted for Seven days. When the
Catholic Church went to convert these people, they did not want to give up
their Holy Days, so the Church decided to let the people keep the same days,
but they would change the name of the days. They had not yet set apart any
certain day to celebrate the birth of Jesus, whom they claimed to follow, and
so they called it the Day of Christ, and told the people that the day was
alright, but that they had to change its name. The Catholic Church always had a
special Mass for each special thing which they wanted to celebrate, so on the
Christ Day they had a Christ Mass as a part of their religious celebration. In
a short time the 25th of December came to be known as Christ Mass Day, which
was changed to Christmas Day, as it is known to us. So you see that people now
celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day, just because some ancient people
had set apart that time to worship the Sun, and the Roman Catholic Church just
changed it from a day to worship the Sun to a day to worship the Son of God.
However, even though we
know that Christmas Day is really not the day on which Jesus was born, we can
celebrate His birth on that date, and take a leading part in the Radiating of
the Christ Love into the world at this Season when others are thinking about
Jesus.
Let us explore for a few
moments the reasons why those ancient peoples who worshipped the Sun as a god,
should set apart the Seven days beginning with December 25th as a Holy Day
Season. It is at this time of the year that we have the longest nights and the
shortest days. Because all life of plants, animals and human beings must depend
so greatly on the Sun, the Sun was looked upon as the Giver of Life. It was
realized that if the sun should go away, and stop shining on the earth, all
things on the earth would soon freeze up in the darkness and die. All through
the fall of the year the days get shorter and shorter, and the nights get
longer and longer. Now if the nights should keep on getting longer, and the
days shorter, all life on the earth would cease. About the first of the year
there is a change.
For the first part of the
Seven days before the first of the year the length of the days and the nights
appears to be unchanged, as if the Sun were trying to decide whether to keep on
making the days shorter, or to begin to make them longer again. So these Seven
Days were devoted to a worship of the Sun, first praying that the Sun would return
and give them longer days again, and then when the Sun did start giving them
the longer days, as it really does at that time of year, they gave thanks to
the Sun for returning. In these Holy Days they greeted the New Year, and they
knew that before long the returning Sun would melt away the snow, and bring the
Springtime when they could again plant their crops and grow their food. So you
see those ancient people had a very good reason for celebrating at that time.
Now we know that it is not right to worship the Sun, but we do worship God who
made the Sun in the first place, and causes it to shine for us. People today
are too much inclined to take for granted the blessings God provides for them.
They might well learn a lesson from those so-called pagan people in giving
thanks to God for their great Blessings.
As you contemplate the
story of the birth of Jesus, it would be well for you to realize that He was
born in a manger, in what today would be called a barn, in order to show that
Spiritual Realities of God do not come in the way that human beings think they
should, with worldly pomp and power. In the manger the oxen and the donkeys
were fed. All through the Bible an ox is a symbol of the human mind—of your own
outer mind. The ass, or donkey, is a symbol of your own body, which is a temple
of the living God. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on an ass, indicating that the
Lord of the body will guide it into the New Jerusalem if the body will respond,
just as Jesus guided the donkey into Jerusalem on that triumphant day.
Just so, the ox and the
donkey had to be taken out of their stall in order to let Jesus be born in the
manger. That means that your own human mind and body must stop being
self-active before the Christ Spirit can be born into the manger of your daily
life. Both the ox and the donkey are very slow and stubborn—just like people
who do not have the Christ Spirit. When your body and mind stop acting like a
donkey and an ox, and then begin to respond to the Lord within, just as the
three Wise Men came to Jesus, giving Him their ALL, you will find that your body
and mind and Spiritual Expression will be made wise, and you will be the three
wise men all in one person. In order to do this you must follow the Star of the
Christ Light, Love and Life, which will surely lead you to your Lord within
you, and as you give all you have and are to Him, He will begin to fill you
with His Presence. The shepherds who heard the Angels sing, are symbols of
those who respond to the loving Call of Jesus, "Come unto Me, all ye that
labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you Rest."
Now you know more of what Christmas means, and you will understand the Love which I send to you, and I AM Uranda
