The Law Works With Terrible Certainty And Exactness

The  Law  Works  With  Terrible  Certainty  And  Exactness

Anniversary  Meditation

Uranda  September 13, 1953

Having recognized the reality of polarity, under the Law, and the need for centering so that we may truly be with one accord in one place, we need to recognize something of the principles and processes by reason of which our togetherness, in the state of being with one accord in one place, may begin to have meaning. The physical presence of a number of individuals in one place, in one room, does not signify accord; it does not signify togetherness.

As we serve we are dealing with pressure, but pressure, as such, does not cause weariness. Pressure, as such, does not cause difficulties within ourselves. We can deal with pressure without, in any sense, being upset, or disturbed, or limited. It is not the fact that there are pressures in the world, or pressures here or there, but the violation of principle within the scope of the One Body, that causes weariness. Most human beings tend to have a blind spot wherein they fail to see their personal responsibility in the range of violation. This reminds us of the Master's Words:

"Judge not, that ye be not judged, for with what judgment ye judge ye shall be judged, and with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again, pressed down, shaken together, and running over."

"With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."

"As ye sow, so also shall ye reap."

"As ye forgive others their trespasses against you, so also shall your Heavenly Father forgive your trespasses. But if ye forgive men not their trespasses against you, neither will your Heavenly Father forgive your trespasses."

Human beings seem to imagine that illumination must relate to some grand and awful secret, some great and mysterious thing, some tremendous outworking. There are great and mysterious things in the cycles of illumination, and I would not detract from those, but we need to begin to realize deeply that illumination relates to some simple things, to some little things.

There are flashes of reaction which tend to appear, there are ill attitudes or harsh attitudes which tend to manifest, which are not always recognized as the violation of these basic principles. Sometimes they seem to be little things, sometimes they seem to be justified, and sometimes the individual acts as if he didn't even know what it was that found expression through himself. He goes on and acts as if it never appeared, and he expects everyone else to act as if it never happened. But where there is a violation of the pattern, it is injecting destructive behavior into the body of the whole, and it cannot be cleared away by merely closing one's eyes to it, by trying to act as if it never happened. Something has to be done to clear the vibration.

There is one thing that has always struck me as being rather strange, rather on the amazing side. Individuals who seem to imagine that they have special license to break the pattern in some fashion, to do something that disrupts the vibratory cycles, say something that is harsh or inconsiderate, some sharp-tongued expression, some lack of control, expect others to just take it. They seem to expect it, because they are that way. But if I started to move on the basis of dealing with them as they deal with others, their howl would reach to high heaven. They would be the ones that would blow up first.

Why does it take so long for people to learn? "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." There has been a stubbornness and contrariness and reactionary expressions, snappy attitudes, right here. I seek to meet such issues in the services, generally. I offer a solution in the services without dealing with the individual on an individual basis, if he will accept it that way. Sometimes people go right on, exactly as if I had never said a word that applied. They've got blind spots, perhaps. They can apply it to their neighbor but not to themselves.

"With what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again." The Law works with absolute certainty. What shall I say? With awful, terrible certainty? It is. With terrible certainty. With wonderful exactness.

Think you that we are going to share the experience of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit while these principles are being violated? No. There will be an outpouring of some spirit but it will not be the Holy Spirit. "Judge not that ye be not judged, for with what judgment ye judge ye shall be judged." Perhaps results will not manifest in the moment. Over and over again, I have seen people when results start coming back. Oh, they are hurt. It starts coming back. They have to pay the price, but they do not like it. The Law works with terrible certainty. With wonderful certainty.

What do you think would happen if, for one week, for seven days, you actually measured every attitude, every word, every thought, every deed, and expressed nothing but that which you were willing to have come back to you, released absolutely nothing in thought or word or deed, in attitude, but what you were willing to have multiplied an hundredfold and have that come back to you? For just seven days? Do you suppose it would make any difference?

It is going to come back; whatever it is, it will come back. Let us be more careful of what we sow. Let us be more careful of what it is that we measure out and ask others to receive at our hands or at our tongues. This is something that any one of you can do in relationship to yourselves. I am not asking you to try to apply it to your neighbor, your husband, your wife, your friend, whoever it may be.

These are the little things that reveal the quality of your service. Maybe you can get by with it for a little while, but are you ready to pay the price? Only the right can secure the right results, step by step. Are you ready to face your responsibility in these things? Until your are, you cannot, will not, share in that greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which we call Illumination. You cannot know what it is to abide in the Shekinah Cloud of Glory, or know the illuminating wonder of the Light that Glows, or touch the unspeakable wonder of the Fire that Burns, until you take this step.

If you think we are not a large enough group to do it, you are wrong. It could be done with just two or three. Let us remember that only as we come to Center and abide in true polarity under the Law, letting the pattern unfold according to the Divine Design, can we be in position to let the Truth make us free. When we are actually living "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," we will be on the Way.

Blessed Ones, I cannot emphasize strongly enough the vital importance of these things. Think upon them. Meditate upon them. Watch yourself concerning them.

I have heard people say, "But I've tried it, and it doesn't work." Oh no they didn't! They did not. They did not let it work, because it does work. We need not labor under the pattern of futility, getting nowhere. If we let it work in ourselves, it will begin to work through us just as surely as the sun rises and sets. It is absolutely certain.

No  Discords

from  The  Shekinah  Fire

Uranda   June 14, 1953

The body of the man or the woman is supposed to be an Ark of the Covenant, a manifestation of the temple of the living God, a specific place that is supposed to be holy and sacred within which no ill vibrational pattern may be found.

Wherever there are stress patterns in the vibrational factor at any level, the evidence of the presence of the One who dwells is withdrawn and only when the patterns of accord and true peace are again made evident can there begin to be the restoration of the manifestation of the evidence of the presence of the One who dwells.

When it begins to appear, we have evidence that the creative field has been maintained, that there have been no adverse vibrational factors, no discords, no resentments, no critical attitudes, no conflicts, no fear, for where these things rule we never see the beautiful glowing light of the cloud of glory revealing the evidence of the presence of the One who dwells.

Human reactions, patterns of attitude such as resentment, and the whirring of the endless rounds of meaningless thoughts, or so-called thoughts, maintain a condition which prevents the manifestation of the light that glows, and the cloud that forms, that in season the cloud may become still more dense, and the glowing light begins to appear as if it were a fire.

As long as human beings are more concerned about the expression and manifestation of their own ideas and concepts and desires, their own pattern of thought and word and action and feeling, than they are of the manifestation of the evidence of the presence of the One who dwells, they will have their reward: the privilege of expressing that which they think they think, which they think they feel, which they think they believe, which they think they wish to do; but none of these things bring peace or satisfaction or the glory of living. Only the futility and the emptiness of the processes of dying.

Remember well that wherever there are vibrations of conflict, resentment, any ill attitudes whatsoever, you keep yourself shut out of the cloud of the Shekinah and contain yourself in the cloud of darkness.

Wherever there are resentments, frictions, conflicts, within or without, within the individual or between individuals, you cannot know the beauty and the wonder, the glory and the peace, of the Shekinah, the manifest evidence of the Presence of the One Who Dwells, everywhere, always.

Funeral Service

Funeral  Service

Martin Cecil   August 8, 1954  2 p.m.

We are assembled here on this beautiful Sunday afternoon, the 8th day of August, 1954, in the Chapel on Sunrise Ranch to undertake a most holy and sacred task, and to give honor and to pay tribute to Bishop Lloyd Arthur Meeker, Head of the Church of the Emissaries of Divine Light, and his wife, Kathleen Meeker, also Albert Ackerley, one of the outstanding leaders in this Ministry, and the two children, William Van Duzen and Sharon Call.

Always, when we come to the times of parting, there is a sense of sadness, a sense of loss, Even when we move about on the surface of the earth and are parted from our loved ones, there is a certain sadness and sense of loss, But to so many human beings, mere is such a seeming finality about what is called death. What is the fundamental cause of that feeling of loss? We may say it is apparent the ones whom we have loved are not with us any more in person, and consequently we miss them. But in relationship to that thought, is it not because there is such a seeming gulf—a thick veil, between that which is called visible here on the surface of the earth in relationship to physical things, and a realm here or anywhere which is supposedly invisible.

Human beings put so much store by the outer manifestation, by the appearance. We recall our Master's words when He said: “Judge not by the appearance.” That was a command, you know, and in relationship to this particular tragedy there is an appearance which has caused some to judge a little bit and wonder why, to speculate. It is not that God would not show us why, but that if we are disturbed, if we are subject to any of the ill spirits which are so prevalent in the world, and self-pity is one of them, we cannot understand or comprehend that which God would reveal.

The physical body is very important. We could not be gathered here together, associated with each other this afternoon, if it was not that we had physical bodies. The physical body is given meaning, not by reason of itself, but by reason of that which is revealed through it, and when the expression of True Being is made manifest through any human body, that human body, that human being, becomes meaningful in the world. But the expression of True Being itself is invisible until the evidence appears in form by reason of the physical body. The expression of True Being which gives meaning to any human being, is invisible and we are functioning in relationship to that invisible pattern constantly, every day. Seemingly the physical form blinds us to the fact that we have this direct contact with that which is has seemed to be invisible.

The characteristics of Being that make an individual life worthwhile, are all invisible things until we begin to see them by reason of some action, some word, that appears through the physical form. But once that True Expression of Being is absent from the physical form, the physical form has no more meaning and consequently there is a need, decently and in order, to return the substance to the realm from whence it came, and that is part of our task this afternoon, but to my way of thinking, only a very small part, for that which has real meaning is the expression of True Being which is no less a reality now than it was before. If we insist that there must be the individual human form to make the expression of True Being meaningful to us, then we are likely to be very sad and distraught.

But when we recognize that the reality of True Being in relationship to each one of these loved ones is just as real now as it has ever been or as it ever will be, then our cause for sadness is merely a personal thing to us, that we enjoyed having our loved ones with us in person, but they are still with us insofar as the expression of True Being is concerned. And perchance there is a certain sadness insofar as they are concerned, because they do not have the Instrument, the body by which they could be with us in person. But that should be the extent of our sadness, because the Reality is not lost. It is just as surely present now as it ever was. We have known our Bishop for varying periods of time. He has provided us with leadership. Leadership! Did you ever see leadership? It is invisible. He has been our friend. Did you ever see friendship? I do not think so. You may have seen the evidence of it in form, but the invisible quality is invisible. You have seen a manifestation. All the characteristics that made Uranda so meaningful to us were, in fact, invisible, although by reason of his physical form we began to recognize them. Can we not still recognize them even though the form is no longer with us?

His beloved wife, Kathy, one whom we have all loved deeply, revealed to me at least, and I think to all of you, the expression of True Being, of womanhood as the expression of God created it to be, just as Uranda revealed the True Being of manhood as God created it to be. And anyone who knew them, actually knew them, loved them. It would be impossible to have known them without loving them. Love is an invisible thing. And Albert, the invisible qualities of Being, of manhood, of faithfulness, of dedication—so many. I do not enumerate these things—I could not list them in any case—but I do not innumerate them as some sort of platitudinous eulogy. We know from our own experience, in our own lives, the reality of them. Meaningful things, yet invisible things. And the little children. Bill and Sharon, they were moving forward in the Way of Life, not having yet come to the point of expressing the fulness of the true qualities of their "Being", but there were evidences of it, precious evidences of it, invisible things that were taking form and becoming meaningful on earth. Oh, yes, it is quite true that invisible things need to take form in this realm of things if they are to have real meaning in this realm of things. And so it is that we have opportunity of providing form for the expression of True Being, that which is invisible, for that which is yet with us. We do not only give honor and pay tribute to these our loves ones just by sharing an hour of Service such as this. The real tribute is that our lives should continue to reveal that which we saw exemplified in theirs. And so, this particular Service should be but a starting point, a starting point leading into unlimited fields of the revelation of the expression of True Being in form on earth.

God is so good to us. He has given us so much, so many blessings, let us make sure that those blessings are not wasted. Let us make sure that the lives of these our loved ones, are not in vain. This, to me, is the true meaning of our Service this afternoon. This carries the current of the Spirit of God and allows it to begin to take form on earth in the days to come with ever-increasing beauty and wonder and glory. And so we are not really parted from our loved ones. They are here. And do you think that in the True Expression of Being they are any less interested in the purposes for which their lives were given when they were here, the purposes of God, the fulfilment of the purposes of God on earth. Let us not let their lives be in vain. Human beings have been inclined too much to let our Master’s life to have been in vain. We do not see very much of the fulfilment of His Promises on earth. Let us not make the same mistake again, that neither His Life nor the life of our Bishop and his wife, Al and the children, may have been in vain.

Our most gracious and loving Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for the privilege of sharing together in the invisible things or Thy Spirit, that these invisible things may begin to take form and become increasingly meaningful on earth by reason of our lives, for we know that all things work together to perfection for those who love and serve Thee, and we would let our lives be dedicated to that purpose more fully than ever before, so that we may be in position to become what we ought to be, what Thou didst create us to be, and to fulfil those purposes for which we came into the world, to Thy Glory and to the blessing of all who will receive. We thank Thee for the lives of these our loved ones, their precious lives, so precious to us, and let us keep them precious and sacred so that the same Spirit which was in them may be in us, and the same dedication that was in them may ever be our dedication, that Thy Kingdom, O Lord, may come on earth because it is given form, something invisible given form, something that is at hand which may be given form. And Thy Will may be done in earth as it is in Heaven, in the invisible realm. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever, IN the Christ. Aum-en.
