By The Word All Things Are Made

By  The  Word  All  Things  Are  Made

Martin Cecil  October 15, 1978

When spiritual substance is dissipated because of human nature behavior then there is the necessity for generating it again. If this is a repeated experience it becomes discouraging. I suppose it might be described very often as a yo-yo experience. When spiritual substance is dissipated then we have to start again, and the opportunity for generating substance to the same level that it was before may require quite an extended period of time. It is not as though one could dissipate that substance and immediately generate it again.

Some have wondered why it has taken so long, since the time when the Master was on earth, to bring once again to point the opportunity for the manifestation of what we refer to as the Third Sacred School. Obviously there was substance generated when the Master was on earth and there continued to be something of a generation subsequently; but the way things worked out it wasn't long before what had been generated began to be dissipated. There always was the possibility that something might have carried forward at that time, springing from what the Master had initiated then; but it could only have happened on the basis of the generation, the continued generation, of spiritual substance. This did not occur in any adequate sense; in fact very shortly it began to be dissipated, resulting in some widespread suffering, all of which was really quite unnecessary. Yet the martyrs of old tend to be looked upon as real evidence of the working of the power of God—but it was not the working of the power of God but the evidence of the lack of it. When something of such momentous proportions as was brought into the world by the Master was dissipated, then it has taken nineteen centuries for anything to be brought to point in an ongoing sense once more.

You may recall that there was a moment back at the time of Daniel when he became aware of the decision that was being made for the Lord to incarnate on earth. It came to him as an appalling shock, because of what He would undoubtedly have to face when this incarnation occurred. But from that point of recognition it was several hundred years later when the Lord actually incarnated in form on earth. There is one thing that God has plenty of, and that is time; human beings don't have so much. But there are many ramifications to all these things; there is much to be taken into account. If the human mind could see all the things that were to be taken into account it would be staggered and I suppose, these days, would be inclined to imagine that it could never be accomplished without a computer. But God has resources which are not apparent to human beings.

Sometimes God is thought of as being rather arbitrary, but that is really the last thing He is. There is a vast amount of careful thought and consideration given to the whole creative process. We think of this creative process in terms of this earth and human beings particularly, but of course this is a very small consideration relative to the vast whole, the whole which we would probably describe as the universe. That word really tells us nothing. But there is a vast whole and what we call the universe gives evidence of the fact of it. All these things have to mesh. That meshing is consequent upon the reality of what we call God. It is consequent upon what He is. Sometimes the human view is that we should learn what the laws and principles of being are so that we may obey them, but that is the human nature approach which leads nowhere. The so-called laws and principles of being are simply part of what is included in the character and the nature of God. These laws and principles, as human beings see them, are not separate from God; they are an aspect of God. It is natural for Him to function on the basis of His own character, which includes what are seen by human beings as laws and principles. That is not really what they are at all. Only as we begin to share the character of God do we discover what these things really are, and we find that these are as much a part of our nature as they are a part of the nature of God, because there is no separation in any case. It may be said that the composition of God is angelic.

As there is the movement of any creative cycle in the true sense, it emerges out of the nature of God. That emergence transpires in a very particular way, in a way that it must transpire. It can't transpire in any other way. So everything has to come together in order to make possible some particular creative cycle to be initiated. We have a certain awareness of a creative cycle that was initiated, to allow for the manifestation of what it is in which we now share. It certainly wasn't something thought up by some bright human mind but occurred on the basis of the fact that things came together in the creative cycles; and there was the incarnation of such angels as were necessary to allow for the initiation of the cycle, not only the initiation of it but the carrying forward of it, bringing us to this very hour. There have been opportunities extended in this regard to the children of men in the past, to allow for what we now call the restoration. Human beings have never accepted it so far. They have never accepted any of these opportunities. They were all, without exception, rejected; that is why we are in the state we still are. This gives some evidence of the love and the carefulness of the natural expression of God. He doesn't wish to force the issue, because it would be disastrous insofar as human beings are concerned. As it was put, He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, that all should be willing to let happen what needs to happen.

Mention was made this morning of what was portrayed by the story of Cain and Abel. When that particular disaster occurred some might question as to why God did not immediately initiate something else. Well He did pretty quickly. We have the information that Eve conceived again and bore Seth, in the place of Abel. This points to an opportunity that was available back there. Obviously it was rejected. But there always are periods of time involved in order to get things into position once again where something can be done. Now we find this in our own individual experience: If you mess something up, you can't immediately reestablish what you have messed up. Sometimes when you mess something up it may be years before you can allow something of the same nature to be experienced once more in a victorious way. This certainly should emphasize to us the care we need to take in our behavior. "Behavior" is a word which I use to describe what we think, what we feel, what we speak, and what we do. Sometimes a thoughtless word can wreak havoc, and it may never be possible to re-establish what was destroyed. It is said that we would have to give account for every idle word in the day of judgment. Well we do, because what we say initiates something, always, and what was initiated at that point comes back to us; the judgment, in other words, comes back. It comes back later, maybe years later, and when it comes back we may say, "Why am I being subjected to this?" Well you were responsible for it in the first place. You may not remember what it was that produced this result, but the result speaks to you of the fact that somehow or other you set something in motion that was of a destructive nature. I am thinking of this in terms of the destructive. Of course it works the other way too. You cast your bread upon the waters. It comes back again after many days. As you sow, so shall you also reap.

But from the standpoint of God relative to this particular part of the universe and the need that is present relative to human beings, there are much greater stakes. There is much more involved. But care is taken that everything that needs to be handled to allow for the initiation of whatever needs to be initiated is taken care of. So when anything begins to emerge, as it has done in the area of which we are aware particularly, relative to the Third Sacred School, nothing happened by chance. All that was necessary to the victorious fulfilment of the cycle which was initiated has been provided. I am sure that we have all been guilty, and others with us, of failing to recognize the provision on occasion, and at other times perhaps of recognizing it and using it wrongly, so that we have in our various ways thrown up unnecessary roadblocks. This has been done on a fairly consistent basis over the years, which also gives much evidence of the patience of the Lord and of the power that is moving insofar as this creative cycle is concerned. Thus far no one has been able to stop it. I suppose, even though most have had the best of intentions, it may be said that nearly everyone has done their best to stop it; but it keeps on moving. There is a creative power here, which we were considering this morning, based in spiritual expression, angelic spiritual expression, and in the collective sense Archangelic spiritual expression.

I received an interesting letter this evening, actually in response to the recent mailing. This letter was written by Karen Barger, whom I'm sure you all know. It brings to point something which I find very useful. It gives evidence of substance and consequent thinking, not the usual kind of thinking but the thinking which emerges when there is spiritual substance in which spirit may move. Here is the letter:

Karen Barger — I was reading the mailing last evening and suddenly realized that in those potent words is the cause of everything, all that is occurring in the world as a whole and in our individual lives. The Word which we share with you on Sundays and which comes to us in the form of mailings is the absolute cause of everything.

There are these words in the Book of John. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." I realize that I have tended to see this as relating only to the original creation, but it has full meaning now. The Word is with God and the Word is God. The Word Is God! All things are made by Him and without Him, without the Word, is not anything made that is made. The Word, this creative Word which we have the utter privilege of sharing with you in, is the absolute cause of everything.

The world doesn't know this. Human nature is totally oblivious of this fact. The darkness comprehends not the light. The Word is in the world, and the world is made by the Word, but the world knows it not. The human mind knows not the Lord. The human mind thinks that it is in charge, but it is not. It never has been and it isn't now. Though the mind interferes with the effects of creation, it does not interfere with the cause at all. In the whole universe the cause is the Word, and in this little world the same is true. The cause is the Word whether the world knows it or not.

It is evident in the first chapter of Genesis that the creative process is most specific. I notice this in the Word we share with you. Each service is most specific. Let "this" occur. In this process of re-creation there is always something which needs to go before "this" which should occur can come. If we are thoroughly in agreement with the Word, what is being brought to point in the service does occur and we are with it. Something dissolves and, because we are present, something new appears. Sometimes there is discomfort when things are dissolving and perhaps a sense of shame enters in, but that's silly. In the power and potency of the Word we cause these things to happen, right in our own consciousness and then on out. We take part in the creative process with the Word, with God. We are taking part in the re-creation of this world. This is what we came here to do and we would let nothing keep us from this.

We do have a specific responsibility in this, each one of us. We are each responsible for a particular aspect of the Word and of creation. For this responsibility to be fulfilled we must keep pace with you from service to service so that we come out where you are, so that we are with you in fact. All the circumstances that we find ourselves in provide us with the opportunity to do this, perfect vehicles, if we will take advantage of them in this way. They are made by the Word for this purpose.

There has been a lot of imagination between us and the Word. I am aware of this in my own consciousness. We have been idol worshipers, idle worshipers, but we needn't be. The Word is present, God is present on earth, and we may worship Him, with you."

Martin Cecil — It is said in this same 1st chapter of John that, "The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us." This is usually seen as referring to Jesus, the incarnation of the Word in individual form at that time. But we also recognize that He came in order to reveal something so that human beings everywhere might assume their own responsibilities. In other words the Word is rightly made flesh not merely through one person, as it was through Him or by reason of Him, but through a collective body of people. This flesh body is created by reason of the Word. We are aware of the flesh body which collectively we and others are in the process of composing. How is it that this composition has been brought to pass? Obviously by reason of the Word. We have spoken of this Word, as it has been differentiated in words, as the bloodstream, or the lifestream, of the body. It makes possible the blending of the body as one body. This Word permeates all parts of the body. We might say it is the one common denominator insofar as all individuals are concerned, and by reason of this Word there has been something made.

We may look back and recall the description of the conception of the flesh body of the Master. The Word was involved here. The way it has been put in the Bible has been interpreted to mean certain things in human minds, particularly the minds of those who think of themselves as Christians, but the point is that the Word is the cause of any creation and it was the cause of that particular creation. It was a starting point, a very small starting point, as there is for each individual. It is because the Word is spoken that there is conception insofar as human beings are concerned. As is usual with the human view, just the external factors are taken into account; conception is supposed to occur by reason of the blending of the male and female seeds. But that isn't why conception occurs. That is part of the picture. These two elements need to be present and drawn into oneness to provide a whole seed, which makes possible conception. The conception comes by the Word, and because the Word is present and continues to be present a flesh body develops. This has been true of all of us, just as it was true of the One called Jesus. Because the Word is spoken with respect to each of us individually we are all sitting here this evening, and because the Word has continued to be spoken up to this point, here we are. This was true of Him as it is true of us.

The Word needs to be spoken in order to make possible the development of a flesh body. Because the Word is present there is more to the development of the flesh body than the flesh. We have noted other levels of substance. There is no real line of demarcation between one level of substance and another. It only seems to be so because of the facility we have for observation. We can observe some things and we can't observe other things, even though we know they are present. There is much present which human beings in their earthly state of consciousness certainly have not been able to observe. There are some things unobservable in this way of which human beings are aware, but there is far more of which they are not aware. Insofar as Jesus was concerned there continued to be growth in grace and stature, as it is put. This indicates the generation of the essential substance necessary to a mature expression. This includes not only physical substance, the flesh body, but spiritual substance as well. There is the substance of the body, the substance of the mind, the substance of spiritual expression, and the substance of the heart. There are various levels of substance. This generation of substance insofar as the Master was concerned provided Him with an instrument, an earthly instrument, which would permit true spiritual expression.

Obviously there was power associated with that spiritual expression. Here we see the way it works. He was revealing how it should work for the whole body of mankind. That is why He suggested, to those who would pay any attention, that they follow Him. Most of those who wanted to follow Him thought they were doing it just by trotting along after Him, but that wasn't following Him. They were given the opportunity of following Him in the regeneration, that is in the regeneration of the essential spiritual substance, so that they would be doing it just as He was doing it. Then there would have been a basis for the development of a body. The twelve disciples might have provided the focus points for the development of this body as it could have occurred at that time, but they were only following Him on the basis of the human concept of what that would mean; and rather similar concepts have been carried over into what is called Christianity: trot along behind and hope that Jesus will get everything straightened out.

That cycle, as we recognize, was dissipated. What He brought into the world was dissipated insofar as human beings were concerned. It wasn't dissipated insofar as He Himself was concerned. The resurrection occurred, after all. So it was necessary that something should be worked out over what has proven to be many centuries, to reach a point where there could be a reinitiation; something could be brought to focus again. There could be, consequently, conception again: conception, gestation, birth, of a flesh body; but not of an individual flesh body, rather of a collective flesh body. We speak of this as the body of the Archangel. This body is present, within the range of our own experience and the experience of others, because of the Word: "All things were made by him."

The first concern in this matter, within the range of where the re-creation needs to occur, is that the Word should be made flesh, made flesh in a larger sense than was possible when the Master Himself was on earth. And we have that experience—certainly not yet of the mature body of the Archangel, capable of permitting the spiritual expression of the Archangel with power—and we remember that, "Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." This is the way it was put, way back. The same thing holds true now. But there must be a flesh body. The initial requirement then is the development of that flesh body. But how? By reason of the Word. This is, insofar as that body is concerned, an internal experience. Mind you, nothing can occur in that internal sense without having some influence externally. Obviously, even if we just consider the birth of a babe and the development of a child, and so on, the very fact that there is a new person present certainly has influence round about. So, because this body has taken form and is growing in grace and stature—at least I hope so—it has influence beyond itself, just as Jesus had influence beyond Himself before ever He reached the point of what might be referred to as His public ministry. That period is not described particularly in the record that has come down to us, but obviously He didn't just suddenly spring out at a certain point. This isn't the way that life works, is it? There is an unfoldment, a creative development; and so it was with Him, as it has been with us.

There was a very specific point when His public ministry began, when His whole expression was concerned with what was external to Himself. Prior to that point—whether you could put a fine line of demarcation there I doubt, but prior to that point there was a continuing internal development, because the Word was being spoken primarily internally. Then the point is reached when it is spoken primarily externally. The experience of this body in its development has thus far been the experience of the Word being spoken internally. The body exists because of the Word. There would be no body without the Word. This should be obvious. So the Word is present, and insofar as this body is concerned all things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. If some human nature patterns have been brought forward and are still present, these did not derive from the Word as it has found focused expression internal to the body. They came because they were already present with those who came to compose the body. But the body is not the true body of the Archangel until it is wholly made by the Word. Obviously no one could ignore the Word and participate in the body. So again we have emphasis placed upon the importance of the Word as we understand it now relative to what is occurring in this moment—of course not only in this moment; it has been a continuing thing and it continues to be a continuing thing.

If the Word is to be spoken internally there needs to be someone present to do it. That job has fallen to my hand—I suppose it would be better put, to my lips. But there is a flesh body now solely because of the Word, a flesh body growing in grace and stature. Somewhere along the way there is a transition, where the Word is not anymore merely spoken internally but it is spoken externally. The Archangel speaks through his body. The initiation of that point was indicated in the record of the Master's life as having occurred at the time of the so-called temptations in the wilderness; thereafter His public ministry was recorded. As I say, there was no cutoff point, so to speak. The angel, the Archangel, had been emerging prior to that, throughout His whole life as far as that is concerned, but there was a point where there could be a shift in the nature of His ministry, and so it is with respect to this body. I rather suspect that this shift is at hand: the moment when the Archangel comes forth through His body. We trust it is through His body; in other words His body needs to be capable of accommodating the coming forth of the Archangel. If the body is not capable of accommodating that, then it is pushed aside. I do not anticipate that that is going to happen, but as individuals everyone needs to bear the possibility in mind, so emphasizing the necessity of angelic behavior. Where the behavior is angelic there is nothing to push aside; there is a facility available capable of accommodating the coming forth of the Archangel, which is at the same time, individually speaking, the coming forth of the angel.

I have spoken before of a particular cycle which was initiated back in 1932 by Uranda, a cycle composed of seven periods of seven years; that is, forty-nine years. I think, if my calculations are correct, that brings us to 1981. I don't know that that is an arbitrary date. What needs to happen perhaps could happen before that but I don't think it could happen very much after that: the coming forth of the Archangel into creative expression on earth because there is a body present capable of accommodating him. You and others have the responsibility for that flesh body, the Word made flesh.

My responsibility up to this point is to provide that Word in the internal sense, in the creation of the body made by the Word. I have watched this happening over the years, and those who have participated with me in this have also shared in observation of the happening. A flesh bodya flesh body with incarnate Archangelallows for the mental apparatus to be present also and for the capacity of spiritual expression. Back of all this there is the heart. And so we have shared in a consideration this evening of what shall be surely developed further in our considerations in the days to come as we allow this coming forth of the angel, and consequently of the Archangel, in increasingly specific ways, all to the glory of God.

The Instinctual Compulsion: Spirit Dancing

The  Instinctual  Compulsion:  Spirit  Dancing

David Barnes and Lou Rotola   April 8, 2001  Sunrise Ranch

Mariya Kasow played the drum, accompanied by Arrow Flora on the didgeridoo, while David Barnes read his poem spirit dancing

David Barnes — We are going to share a poem with you called spirit dancing. It's about the Creator's Law, which we know is the law of giving and receiving in balance. It's about celebrating living the law around the cycles of the seasons—dancing the law—spirit dancing.

spirit dancing

the creator's Law bids us to dance

the solar pulse calls us to dance

the mother's heartbeat leads us to dance

the dance of the spirit draws us together

the creator's Law bids us to dance

we all are related in the dance of the Law

the Law is a gift

living is giving

dancing the gift

dancing the circle

dancing the cycle

round

seasons of plenty

dancing the cycle round seasons of plenty

dancing the seasons round cycles of giving

dancing to celebrate rhythms of living

we dance and we celebrate — living the Law

giving and receiving — being the Law

sowing and reaping — thankful for Law

the seed and the harvest — receiving the Law

ebbing and flowing — breathing the Law

the light and the dark — encircled by Law

the sun and the earth — oneness in Law

the rhythms of being — dancing the Law

dancing the Law brings a knowing in living

the Law brings us plenty

the Law brings us balance

the Law brings connection

the Law brings us power

a stranger arrived in the garden of glory

with ambitions and fears and demons and noise and obsessions

with

illusions of progress

convictions of sin

and they did their best

to stop

both the music and the dance

but the tide can't be turned

and the music plays on

and the heartbeat is heard

and the dance is forever

here

in this day

we join in the music and the dance of a joyous creation

woman and man — wakan and skan

dancing our love

for the

lord of the dance

dancing our love

for the

goddess of rhythm

the creator's Law bids us to dance

the solar pulse calls us to dance

the mother's heartbeat leads us to dance

the dance of the spirit draws us together

we all are related in the dance of the Law

the creator's Law bids us to dance

it's a good day to dance

it's a good day to dance

it's a good day to dance

I've been thinking about language, and the use of various languages to communicate. Some varied forms of language have already been used this morning; the language of the drum, and the language of the didgeridoo; the language of the spirit expressed through Mariya and Arrow. The language of the poetry, the words selected to clothe the rhythm, the information conveyed, the spirit of the words. I've been thinking of what could be called the one language, or the language of oneness—the language of love. You could say the true language, which, no doubt, has many dialects and formations, but it all finds its origin in the substance of love and the spirit of love.

What causes me to begin to think about this is what could be considered as a failure to communicate—to speak clearly, to hear what is being said, to understand what is being said, and to communicate on the basis of truly listening and hearing and understanding. Asking myself the questions: What am I missing? Why aren't we communicating? Why aren't we hearing each other? Why are we misinterpreting what one another is saying? What must I do different? How can this be made right? How can the channels of clear communication—listening, speaking, understanding—be opened more fully than they are? I wrote a few things about this a few days ago. Here is one paragraph:

“Language is enformed by such factors as the spoken word; the silent sound; the quality of the atmosphere; the known and emphasized meanings of specific words; the rhythm, poetry, cadence, and feeling; facial expressions; both the spoken and unspoken emotional and intellectual content of the words and postures; overt and covert action at multiple levels; the appearance of doing nothing, which actually is doing something; actual and interpreted national and cultural differences and biases; the levels of being that are in expression at any particular moment; and the collective interpretations and translations that are shared by individuals relative to the cultural accumulation of all these elements.” There are many other things that could be mentioned.

There is a new language that I am beginning to learn, that we are all beginning to learn. I say, “beginning” because it has been happening over recent decades, over this century predominantly. It can be described quite precisely as the language of love, and the language of oneness, which is the language of spirit—the language of the wholeness of spirit, the holiness of spirit; a sacred language, which isn't religious languag, arising out of religious beliefs, but it is a language that carries a current of spirit born out of a consciousness of oneness—oneness in Being.

It seems to me that in the development of clear communication, and a language which allows for that—taking into consideration all those factors that I mentioned—that we must begin in an awareness of eternal Divine Being, true Being, God Being and the spirit of God Being. Being God in expression in human form, there is awareness of a spirit that is released through all forms that are at hand for communication. Obviously, if our own identity and orientation is not in Divine Being, it is in limited human-ego being present. And if that is the case we find ourselves, if not, at the least, mis-communicating, then, taken to the extreme, at war with one another, perpetuating violence on the earth in relationship to one another, and in relationship to God—we have an antagonistic attitude relative to the Source of life itself, and certainly an antagonistic attitude towards all the kingdoms of creation. And we have no great capacity to communicate with one another, or with plant, animal, rock and soil—all those levels of creation that we as mankind have opportunity to be in communion with, by reason of the spirit of love, the spirit of God, the spirit of Divine Being, the spirit of all that is whole and wholesome and holy.

And so, if we're not actually living in that holy spirit we are living in and through, to put it simply, a cultic state of consciousness—an environment that has been set up and established to make us as secure and as comfortable as possible in what is inevitably and ultimately an impossible and uncomfortable situation! And we find ourselves, with our particular brand of cultic consciousness, in a standoff against others with their particular brand of cultic consciousness. We try to communicate from one bubble, one level of cultic domain, through the membrane, into another. We may appear to have a certain level of communication within that particular isolated bubble, but it's only within that, and it's only in appearance. It isn't true communication, and it isn't born of the language of love, and it isn't born out of oneness. It's born of separation and fear. Now, fortunately, there are those who are coming out of that—the bubble is bursting, the membrane is dissolving, in the hearts of those who are attuned to the spirit of love, the holy spirit, the spirit of truth, and are keen to bring spirit dancing in a vibrancy of life.

I was thinking about the great burning that is going on in the world, a great fire burning at many levels—burning up the cultic state of consciousness really, and burning up all that would maintain it! But the particular burning I've been thinking of is occurring in two locations on the planet. One is in the rainforests—let's say, of Brazil—the destruction and the burning of the forests to make pastureland to raise beef for the American and European market. As Gary Snyder put it, in his poem titled Mother Earth: Her Whales, in the rainforest there are: “Thirty thousand kinds of unknown plants. The living actual people of the jungle sold and tortured.” Sold, and tortured in the destruction—a fire unleashed by the greed of those who function within the political and economic and social and educational cults that the world accepts in the name of security; accepts as being essential to a wholesome and healthy and productive and enjoyable life.

Then there's that other fire that is raging in Europe. It's not the witch-burning this time. It's foot-and-mouth disease. It's the pigs and the sheep and the cattle—the four-footed ones. Mad cow disease, they call it. Isn't it tragically ironic that they're burning the forests in Brazil to make pastureland to raise cattle for the European market, and they're burning the cattle in Europe, because of the imbalance and the disease that is present in Europe and Brazil. Thinking about that, I can't help but feel that it has a lot to do with the fact that human beings don't know how to communicate with their brothers and sisters, and all their relations.

There are people who have a unique touch with the plant life, the rock life, the animal life on the planet, the touch of magic, the capacity to communicate, and a great love that allows it to be so for them; something instinctual, innate, a gift, a divine gift that has come through. When you are around such people you notice that there is a sense of great respect for all of creation and a love for the Creator, a love for God, a sense of Divine Being present within the heart of that one, although they may not talk about it that way.

But we do have the capacities, whether they're used or not, for communion—which is oneness, which is love—that proceeds from a quality of communication with Divine Being, whether that Divine Being relates to how we express toward one another—recognizing the sacred core that is present, and giving life to each other—or relates to communion in the sense of an invisible, upwelling through the heart of a spirit of gratitude and closeness, and in awareness of what has been established here on this planet. An awareness of who we are as human Beings, and awareness of the great angelic hosts, the focalizations of archangelic consciousness with whom it is possible, by reason of the spirit, to enter into union, the substance of which brings peace on earth—in our own hearts first. It brings a quality of language born of a mind that is becoming increasingly still, and filled with light, with understanding; and peace on earth in relationship to who and what we are as Divine Man and Divine Woman, present in human form to provide what comes by reason of our presence in relationship to the other levels and the other kingdoms of creation.

We gain a sense that there is the capacity for a full spectrum of communication—upward, outward, downward, all around—by reason of an increasing consciousness of Spirit Being present on earth in human form, and in expression. Spirit dancing. The Word expressed. The Word of God, it's been called—and that's communication, isn't it? To speak the Word of God. By the very word itself, it implies expression and communication: the Word of life, the Word of love, truthful words. And by reason of that expression in relationship to all things—not just talking, in all things—allowing all circumstances to be a vehicle for the conveyance of this one language, the language of oneness, the language of love. So we need to make the necessary and essential adjustments when those things come out of our mouth that are not true to that spirit. Loving that spirit; so that one is listening to what it is that is taking place, listening to one another, listening to what comes out of one's own mouth and out of one's own heart. And, listening in this way, born of love, let the change occur so that the expression that comes through the spoken word—such a powerful medium!—is increasingly in harmony with the core of Spirit Being that I am. Loving the Language of the Gods, the language of spirit; and recognizing that each one, each Being, each human Being, will speak that language in a divinely distinctive manner. It may be, for some, dominantly through words. We all will have to speak, inevitably; most through the spoken word, but also through all the other ways in which we can speak and share in the language, the music and the rhythm of the spirit.

Relative to the animals and plants, the torture of the “living actual people of the jungle” (sometimes it sounds like a jungle around here, with all the sounds of living creation): let us love them! Speak with them, invite what they would have to say into the circle of the life that we center. It is said that Man, Divine Man and Divine Woman, was to have dominion over the earth, and all the things of the earth. But there's nothing in the spirit of that particular phrase which implies imposition. It is actually referring to the dominion of the spirit which, when expressed, doesn't lead any one or any level of creation into bondage, or into suffering, into prison. It doesn't cause manipulation, genetic or otherwise. It brings a focus of creative spirit into the world—and the spirit of love is not about to destroy! It offers transformation, upliftment and welcome, an invitation to come close; to speak, to listen, to hear, and to create together.

Something has to change in the heart, for the language of the spirit to be understood and to be expressed—a renewal and a regeneration of the substance of the heart—because the language of the spirit is a fiery language! And it takes a clear channel and a purified mechanism for it to come through. And, in fact, it's in the process of burning its way through, from the inside out; from the inner dimensions of Being to the outer, so that the outer and the inner can burn together in the heart, which is the altar, the meeting point between the two domains, in oneness.

So, we who live and associate together by reason of knowing this place of Being, have an opportunity to let these things that I'm speaking of prevail—in relationship to the majesty of life, in all its forms, that is all around us all the time; and in relationship to one another, and the core purpose of communion that is established in this holy place as the reason for its Being. If we don't let these things prevail, what we we do and create becomes just another cult: people in bondage in their particular little bubble, or their little collective bubble; bouncing off each other, knowing a few others that we say are our particular friends. And if we do let these things prevail, we set in motion a whirlwind of genuine spirit which assists in the dissolution of all cultic consciousness everywhere! Our own, whatever might remain; and all that which is present in the world. And it's a controlled burn; it's not a wildfire. It is a fire that will take care of all of this in a decent and orderly manner, and leave all things free in the substance of love, in oneness—leaving us aware of our Divine heredity, and the culture that extends from that heredity, and the language that extends out of that culture, and the right communication that is established by reason of the understanding and the speaking of the language. And then the torture is drawn to a close, and the spirit dance proceeds.

And now, Joseph Flora will play some more on the didgeridoo; and then our friend Lou Rotola will share some of the wisdom and magic of his spirit with us all.

Lou Rotola — I certainly appreciate what we've been sharing. I had the feeling, as David was speaking, that the angels of heaven and earth were singing and dancing with great joy, with the exquisite sounds, and the poetry. And thank you too, Joseph. It's a wonderful thing to give opportunity for people to express their gifts, their unique divine gifts as individual, unique, divine beings.

Listening to David, I couldn't help thinking that language is such a challenging thing. For the most part, I think it's because words are used without any knowing of the reality of the symbol of the word, or the words. And it tends to deceive the person into thinking that they know something, when the truth of the matter is they know about something that may lead them to knowing something, because words have a way of clothing the inner reality, as does every other kind of expression. But “to be silent and to hear the whisper of God” are potent words—not just because Emerson said it, and not just because I'm saying it.

I'm always reminded of the great story of Abraham, and I'm sure some of you are aware of it. At the time of Abraham, the highest form of worship was to sacrifice your firstborn son. He had a son, Isaac, and he took him up into the mountain to sacrifice him, because that was the way of the land, or the way of the people, the culture. But he didn't sacrifice his son. He sacrificed a ram. I understand that in many philosophies the ram is symbolic of the human mind, so in essence that's what he really sacrificed. You could say he sacrificed the culture—he broke a pattern.

I've always loved that story, and I've always given a lot of thought to it. And I can see how this compulsion was moving in Abraham—I would call it the instinctual compulsion. The instinctual compulsion is what governs and moves the tides of the ocean, the seasons; it's the instinctual compulsion that's causing this renewal of spring, the Goddess, the birthing—a time of celebration. I also gave some thought to the question, What causes inspiration? There are so many inspirational books written; it's necessary that we inspire each other, and I think that's good and healthy. But in Abraham's case, there was no other history for him to read, nowhere to find any inspiration about any alternative to sacrificing life, his son. But the instinctual compulsion conspires to find its way into expression. There's no denying that the Law is the Law, as David's poem was indicating. This instinctual compulsion brings inspiration if there's any modicum of openness. And sure enough, Abraham had it, and that's the reason he was able to change that whole pattern. But the change wasn't made from the standpoint of not liking what was outside. That's the whole point. The change was emanating from within him. The inspiration came from within, not from anyone else. That's the message, if there ever was a message given of what we call the Emissaries of Divine Light. Inspiration comes from within, change comes from within, the control is from within. We tend to give it away. About ten years ago people were saying, “Don't give your power away to people you can't trust.” Well, don't give your power away to anybody, regardless of trust. You're the vehicle for that power, the truth of that power. And consequently this one man changed things, because he allowed himself to be a vehicle through which the divine inspiration could move.

Now of course we still have killing, sacrificing of life. It's probably more on an installment plan that we kill each other, because of a lack of the language of love. But human beings, myself included, don't want to look at these things. Well, I don't think Abraham looked at it. He probably wasn't too happy about having to kill his son; I don't know if anyone else would be either. We might say, how crazy could people be in those days? People of today always think that people of yesterday didn't know too much, but yesterday was a step that helped get us here today, and that includes the substance of the people of that time. But change came, and that's how change comes. It certainly doesn't come, as I've found out, by rebelling or fighting or anything like that.

A couple of weeks ago, Marsha was saying something to the effect that God longs to be known. I would agree with that wholeheartedly. The longing of God's heart, of His spirit, is to be known in the human heart. And I would think, if there is sadness anywhere, there is sadness in the heart of God, if I could describe it that way, because God, which is love, is not known in its fullness. But Abraham got to know that spirit; maybe there was a longing in Abraham's heart. I think there's a longing in the heart of humanity to know God. And the only reason why there is that longing is because, as I said, there is a longing in the heart of God. It's essential, I feel, to pause, to be silent and listen. We have so much bombarding from everywhere, including our own mental facilities, our own busy thoughts, that we tend to miss the whispering of God. It's been said that if you're one with God, or if you're in attunement with God, you won't beg anymore—and there's more to begging than just asking somebody for something. But here we are, made in the image and likeness of this great Spirit, ready to sing our song.

I want to read something. It's taken from a presentation by Martin Cecil, called The Artistry of Living. Living—some people used to say, “The art of living—what's that about?” Well, real living tends to be so far removed from what we're really doing. One of the Beatles, John Lennon, said that life is what happens while we're busy making other plans—for the future. Here's the excerpt. It touched me very deeply:

“Let us not be too quick to judge that someone else has made a slip. How do you know it is a slip? There is a tremendous flexibility in the divine design. The tendency in human consciousness is to try to make things conform to some concept that someone has developed as to how things should be. Each individual is unique. Each must express that uniqueness to be right. Don't judge what may indeed simply be the unfolding uniqueness appearing through somebody else...

“It is true there are certain basic principles—certain fundamental techniques, I suppose you could say—as there are certainly in flying an airplane. You can't ignore those things ever as long as you fly the airplane. But in this artistry of living we discover that there is function in so many more dimensions that we cannot possibly become rigid in our approach. Let us exhibit a willingness to allow our own individual uniqueness to take form, and let us be willing to let it be so for others.

“One of the evidences of a leader in this regard is not seen in someone who imposes his own pattern on everybody else—‘Well, you've got to do the same thing that I do, exactly’—but the leadership is revealed in the attitude of willingness to let each person be him- or herself and not to be too quick to judge that some seeming slip is necessarily a slip. Let it prove itself out. It may be found that another door is opened on the basis of what at first seemed to be a slip. There is a willingness to let others be what they are because we have been allowed to be what we are—patience, understanding, delight in the evidences of uniqueness which appear...

“What you do will be unique to you. But of course, to find that uniqueness you must develop your proficiency as an artist; otherwise you find that you start imposing something that is not genuinely you. The true uniqueness of the individual is never imposed. There is always that beautiful flexibility and vision which is capable of encompassing the uniqueness of others without being fearful of that and trying to shut it off because somehow or other you think that you wouldn't be able to handle it or relate to it. If we are centered in spirit we can relate to spirit wherever it appears; there is no problem.”

I would also like to read some words concerning having an organization versus being part of a divine organism. This selection comes from another talk by Martin Cecil, which was entitled A Family in Love.

“We have an organization related to this ministry, because seemingly this is necessary for function in the world which man has made, but the organization in this regard relates to the world which man has made and it has no validity insofar as its external form is concerned in the world that God makes. In this sense it could be seen that there are two things. There is the external organization, which incidentally I have endeavored to keep to a minimum. Sometimes I am asked as to how many members there are of the church. I never quite know what the reply should be to that question. Do you consider yourselves to be members of the church? I suppose some of you do, and that is all right, but it does not necessarily indicate that you are experiencing the reality of the divine organism. We have a church, so there must be members. We have a board of trustees who handle the business as it relates to the necessities in man's world, and we have an incorporated name. To this extent we align ourselves with man's world. This is one thing, and I think it can be recognized that such organization is necessary, but let it never be assumed that by joining the church one could thereby become a member of the divine organism.

“On the other hand, there is this other thing, which does not relate at all to any human organization. It is the experience of a living organism, and we experience it individually to the extent that we ourselves begin to live. We begin to become aware of the reality of the chosen people. Becoming aware of this, let us never fall into the trap into which the children of Israel fell, so that there begins to be an exclusive attitude, the attitude which says, in effect: ‘We are the people; those who are not sharing in this are not worthy of consideration.’ Let us never assume a superior attitude. The very fact that such an attitude might be assumed, or an exclusive attitude, is indication that the person who does accept such an attitude in relationship to himself is not experiencing what it means to be one of the chosen people. Who are the chosen people? Those who begin to share divine identity. And anyone, anywhere, may do it. It is not in any sense exclusive. Because of increasing loyalty to the Lord, a loyalty which transcends all other loyalties, we begin to emerge into this wonderful experience of being members of a living organism. The experience which we have had in this regard thus far is a little thing, but we should know that it is real…

“Humility—no attitude of exclusiveness or superiority. We do not thank God that we are better than other people, because most likely we are not. And if we were, would that be good? We do not need to be better than other people. All we need to be is what we truly are, and what we truly are is neither better nor worse than others. It is right. It is perfect. We may recognize that there is, in divine identity, divine individuality. We are our individual selves. No one else can be us and we can be no one else. This being the case, it is never a matter of better or worse. It is just a matter of being oneself in the divine sense. To the extent that there is this dawning experience of something divinely wonderful, we discover our relationship with brothers and sisters in the divine family.”

I heard that spirit and those words about thirty-eight years ago, and I thought that was the most wonderful thing I'd ever heard. The easiest thing is to be who I am. I don't have to copy someone else, I don't have to compare myself with someone else. Of course I was tarnished with the same brush as anyone else was—the need to look important, to compare myself with others, to see how important I was compared to someone else; to be jealous or envious of someone else, of their important roles and positions and what-have-you. Baseball players have a hard time with that one. No, all that's needed is just to be oneself.

Abraham exemplified that, and he proved that the positive control that governs human beings is from within. In saying that, it makes us check all the other controls that govern us, because this instinctual compulsion conspires to find expression—you can't prevent it. It conspires, it knows—the Law knows no other way, as the poem was saying. Thank God, there's no escape. I don't think any of us want to escape, but to have in our hearts this spirit of what we've been sharing this morning, and to let our lives demonstrate that spirit, so that our living is a celebration of God, the God that I am.

So, it's great to share this time with all of you. And I want to thank you, David, for preparing the heaven with these wonderful people. I'd like to invite our musicians to play some more, if you would—and as they're playing we may feel respectfully that we can move on as it's fitting, to have lunch together. Thank you.

Getting Above It All—Ascension

Getting  Above  It  All

Ascension

John Gray  and  Alan Hammond   July 17, 1986   World Service Class

John Gray — Here are words that might be spoken by any of us: I love the King. Loving Him, I know His love. And I love His world, my world, heaven and earth—the whole world. This consciousness is at the core of what we call World Service. Usually thoughts of the world center in the earth aspect. We remember that that's not the whole of it; there is heaven as well. Standing in heaven there extends out beneath us, we might say, through the earth, connections with everything and everyone everywhere. These connections are already present. They are subconscious and very real. Coming from heaven into the earth, our own radiance sent out, in a sense, across these connections which already exist, activates various portions of the realm of earthly connection. According to the nature of what is activated and according to the power of the stimulating spiritual expression, there arises an earthly field of service in the momentary sense. Things come to consciousness, feelings arise, opportunities to act present themselves all the time. I love the world into which I have deliberately come.

Not long ago in our Class considerations we were looking at some of the earthly characteristics of various cultures and peoples throughout the world, seeing the necessity at this level for the dissolution of prejudice and bias, attitudes of division that have been present in our own subconscious makeup and have served as a barrier to true service. There are similar attitudes present within the Emissary body. Thankfully there is some lessening of such, you could say, regional prejudices and parochial views. But such still remain. Any fixed attitude, any mindset, perhaps with respect for the moment just to North America—those in the East, for example, are this way and those in the West are that way and those in the middle, who knows? those in the South, those in the North. Without perhaps beings too deliberate about developing such structures, everyone has their share—these views prevent a blending of the substance brought by each one. And the result is that the body perceives itself as incomplete and consequently inadequate. There are whole areas of the ministry of the Son of God on earth, of which many have no awareness at all. It’s not only a matter of having mindsets about certain regions or people, but sometimes it’s a blank. As we’ve been considering recently, it is the devil’s approach to divide and thus control. We are concerned that attitudes of divisiveness pass, so we can be no more convinced of incompleteness and inadequacy.

There is a new heaven of which, when one’s own substance is released in an unstructured way into the larger whole, one becomes aware. And a new earth takes form accordingly, which resembles not at all any prior ideas. We have had, no doubt, views of ourselves, certain internal requirements that we have placed on ourselves for ourselves, thinking that unless I can be this way I can't serve adequately, I can’t do my spiritual job. If I'm going to be a world server well then I need to know all about everything that’s going on. That would hardly be possible, would it? But as we see, in the new heaven, the whole is already whole; it isn’t actually divided. And at the earth level of things everything is connected anyway. Where is the difficulty? From whence stem the feelings of inadequacy, that somehow we are not capable, or not capable yet, of accomplishing our commission? We are very capable, very adequate.

I had an experience recently that demonstrated something to my own consciousness. Pam and I were traveling to the Orient, and the particular flight that we were to depart Los Angeles on en route to Tokyo was postponed by, as it turned out, a day. Various things had been arranged in Tokyo for the following day. They were all set, preparations had been made. As it turned out, we were up for some thirty hours or so and arrived in Tokyo with this series of appointments and meetings that began immediately and went on into the evening, including a dinner and a public meeting. I discovered something about the value of an obedient heart. When there is an adequately trained and obedient subconscious through which spirit may work, there is an autopilot factor which is operational in spite of the fact that in the outer sense the circumstance was perhaps not quite what one would have preferred. I don’t say I talked in my sleep, but it was pretty close! As it turned out, evidently the time spent with various ones, the meeting and dinner and what all, turned out fine. It’s kind of a blur in my memory. There are far more resources present with us already if we relax and trust our own capabilities to move in the current of the spirit.

One aspect of serving in the world as it is, which involves the ability to connect with people where they are, requires being above cultural factors oneself, so that others with whom you come in contact are met, if they are willing to come up above their own cultures, met at that level. And something very worthwhile happens; there is a current, there’s a connection realized in heaven. Sometimes this stimulates something to the conscious level in the person, sometimes not. But without it there is very little likelihood of connecting at all.

We have considered a little bit about the value of language, the use of words, and share an appreciation for the work with language that has been done in this ministry over the years, specifically with English, to bring immense dimension to bear through what previously were very small apertures, very small openings. The meanings of words have expanded and taken on a new heaven. My appreciation for this fact has increased in the past several years through endeavoring to do something in the Spanish-speaking parts of the world. Spanish, while not as flexible a tool as English, is a living language and thus malleable. We have found, in beginning to express spirit by reason of the Spanish word forms, that things had to change. The language structures and forms-themselves needed to be more flexible and more expansive and, in some cases, a few specialized words developed and worked with over time. The translation of On Eagle’s Wings into Spanish at one level shouldn’t have been a difficult task; after all, it’s just a finite number of words. But to convey the spirit accurately requires more than some literal translation. What words would spirit bring to life to embody the central essence of what’s being said? Spanish is beginning to be more malleable in this regard, and the book is finally coming to print.

We have plenty of forms present in our subconscious. Working with them in this similar way, they become malleable and more available, more ample for spirit’s use. All that is necessary to connect with everyone and everything in the world where we are, the world which we love, is already present right with us. It is simply the intensity of one's own current, one’s own love current, extending out through the tools that are already available, already present, that enlarges them and brings them to life and makes them more viable and workable as conveyors of spirit. We have found this magically occurring, no doubt, in the ways we see our own worlds of service during the time that we have spent together. Each of us came, with a certain vision, a certain understanding. We saw ourselves as servers. But now something quite a bit different is seen. There is a far bigger context. We don't hold ourselves so confined as heretofore. This has served as the initiation of a continuing, ongoing process of expansion and enlargement. There is unlimited scope for the service of the body of God on earth. We emerged into the world initially capable of great and wonderful things! A falling away of what has been a barrier, been an obstacle, been a factor of division, whatever, to permitting one’s emergence—these have begun to shrink in consciousness. One cares less and less, until not at all, about all the things that seem to stand in one’s way, because in fact they don’t.

We accept and appreciate the parameters of circumstance as they come to us, remembering in whose name we come, and let that royal spirit fill each circumstance and watch the magic that ensues. There is nothing more exciting or fulfilling than to be a member of this spiritual body, playing our unique parts, transforming the world, bringing the King’s world increasingly into attunement with His spirit, letting, as we say, the garden be restored. It is accomplished as we stand with and in the point of spiritual focus on earth, loving the King, knowing His love, loving His world, loving the parts we play, delighted with all that occurs, and having a sense of heavenly perspective about it all. Everything is thus light, easy, fun, no matter how limited the circumstances may appear. We may need to operate on auto-pilot from time to time. That’s quite all right, if one’s auto-pilot mechanism is trustworthy. We may need to serve in circumstances that we might not prefer. Who cares? What a delightful commission we in fact have: the focus of the world body, rendering world service in the name of the One whose world it is.

Alan Hammond — We all loved sharing John’s expression of the one spirit. I’m sure, as he was emphasizing, we find emerging in our consciousness that as we come to know the King—and that phrase actually covers a whole multitude of processes—but as we come to know the King, we find we do love His world. And evidence of that is that we would not wish to exploit or hurt any part of it. On the contrary, we love it and everything in it, and we long to draw forth the fullest divine potential from every element of it—healer, educator, friend to the whole.

John also emphasized as part of the ascending process the purification of the heart, which this ministry is well occupied with. And each of us as individuals find, probably, a fair portion of our time involved in purifying the heart, as it is called—whatever it is actually—because this really must be the first order of business. Something has gone wrong in certain levels of human consciousness. When I say “gone wrong,” the experience of heaven has been excluded and something else is here—or there. And the educational process provided through this organ, EDL, is an unspeakable privilege for those who are invited to participate. Now the focus of that educational process, as it has been called, is the purification of the heart and the orientation of the mind in spirit.

This process can be focalized in what Martin has been emphasizing recently as “Stop judging.” That's the focus of it all, really. If we judge something, someone, it invariably pulls us out of the state of heaven. And so to deal with judgments as they arise in consciousness is not just a diligent chore that we have been exhorted to participate in, but actually is one of the most thrilling, re-creative occupations that angels can be involved. It is very thrilling. Most human beings judge without realizing it. They just do it! Moment by moment they’re busy judging, unconsciously. Martin's emphasis on “Stop judging” allows, if we will, these unconscious processes of distorted function, namely judging, to become conscious so they can be discarded. And this is very exciting, because you cannot change any shade of attitude or feeling in consciousness about anyone or anything without actually affecting your whole world.

I’d like to explore a little more this matter of the magic of the human consciousness in which we move, live and have our experience. We’re involved in a re-creative process. The re-creative process is using, basically, the same principles as the creative process. The first chapter of Genesis outlines the creative processes. As one comes to know the truth you know there is a tremendous amount contained in this, relative to the creative process. For example, each day of creation does pertain to stages of re-creation in the restoration of the consciousness and experience of man. Just to give an example:

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Well we have become aware of that. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said. Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

You've heard that. The first thing to realize, really, is that this evening and morning are always the first day. And actually the whole process starts in the dark, which does relate to some unconscious mechanisms. So in our re-creative processes, this matter of working in the night, the unconsciousness, as John was emphasizing, is far more potent than we may have realized. Eventually man was banished from the garden and his true state, and had to start perspiring when he achieved anything. As world servers, we have to be restored to our true place. In our true place we become aware of the mechanisms, the instruments, of action available when we are in true identity in the true place. This does not involve effort in the usual sense.

In our First Day there is just becoming aware of being on earth, really—the entry into time and space, which relates to the first day. And then the Second Day rehearses about the firmament, the waters above and the waters below. The Second Day we begin to work with consciousness, no doubt relating to the Second Sacred School. And then in the Third Day the dry land appears and all the seeds; the divine collective body and the mechanisms of activity related to that body are outlined. And then we come to the Fourth Creative Day, which I’m going to read even though some of us may not be directly focused in this level of activity. We may still be sorting out—well, we’re certainly over the First Day, we know we're alive in the dimensional world of time and space. But we may still be sorting out the waters above and the waters below, clarifying the heaven. We all are engaged in that still, to some extent, no doubt. But there are dominances of activity in the individual sense, and in the collective sense. And in the collective sense, although it may not be dominant, I would suggest the Emissary ministry is moving into the Fourth Day, which reads like this:

“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkenss: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.”

Now I don’t want to go into an analysis of that. But an obvious thing is the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night, which could relate to a certain emphasis of masculine function and feminine function. And the “lesser light” doesn’t mean to say it’s a lesser role, because it relates to many unconscious—the lesser light relating to the darkness and the subconscious—many mechanisms of creative function. It’s just where rulership is. But we have divine man and divine woman reemerging consciously in the heaven. And rulership from the heaven is indicated here—communion in heaven.

But anyway, going back, at least connecting up with this matter of clarifying the subconscious. John was pointing that there is a personal clarification that goes on, and this allows one to ascend. There is a feeling of ascension out of involvement in the earth into the heaven. And in that identity there is authority. Now this authority isn’t exercised as human beings have known the exercise of authority, of imposition externally upon this, that and the other. And ascending into heaven, as a star in the firmament of the heaven, one becomes aware, for example, of this oneness. We’ve been speaking about oneness—John emphasized oneness. This isn’t a theory. There is one spirit, one energy, animating everything everywhere. Now that may be a theory, but it’s absolutely obvious. And yet the human consciousness has not been a conscious part of that overall mechanism.

But being actually above the heaven, so that our identity is actually in an undimensional state of qualitative being—that's really what we are. And we can discern the manifestation of that undimensional quality of being throughout the centuries. When we see Jesus, for example, exemplifying qualities of character, we say He expressed the truth, the True Tone. That spirit is my spirit. But that spirit was manifesting two thousand years ago, and yet here it is now, manifesting through these little piles of dust. And this is who I am. Before Jesus was, I am. It’s the same character, the same being.

So our actual identity is in an undimensional level, and we incarnate into the realm of time and space—we say the heaven. And we begin to work in the heaven. Work in the heaven—and there are various ways of working with this, but one way of looking at working in the heaven might be said to be what we have called working in the subconscious. It has been unconscious, anyway, to the human mind, so that when discordant thoughts and feelings arise in consciousness, coming out of this stature and quality of character that I am, I stop judging. Now that’s not enough, just to stop judging, really. Somebody pointed out last night in service, it’s very difficult to just stop judging. The positive side of “not judging” presumably would be acceptance, only that’s a kind of milquetoast state. Love would be the positive expression of nonjudgment. In other word, you know there is somebody that causes you to judge all the time. Or some circumstance that you have been judging for ages is wrong. And that pulls us, always, out of heaven and we’re grappling then, and things are the way they are. But if I ascend above the heaven, to the undimensional quality of being that I am, and I am resolved to exemplify this magnificent quality of divine character, I find a magnanimous inclusion of this jerk, and this situation, because I am above it all. The truth is I am above it all, and the greatest excitement, the greatest fulfilment, is to be—well, initially it seems to be the greatest joy and fulfilment to be above it all. There is more to do, actually, after we get above it all. But getting above it all is a thrilling process. Ascension is thrilling! And, as I say, we begin to accommodate people who have irked us, people who criticize us. That usually throws us for a loop—if they judge us, we judge them. But no, I am immediately anyway divine; and I express from this magnificent being that I am. So that’s more than non-judgment. And we let them be however they are, because they really cannot, they do not have the power, to change who I am and my resolve to be in expression who I am. It's only fear of those people and those things, really, pulling us out of somewhere into hell or purgatory that causes us to react. That’s all involved with human distortion. But anyway, the way to transcend judgment is to be this magnificent spirit and express it—not just to stand there unmoved, but actually to pour something greater of qualitative being into one’s world.

Now I emphasized earlier that the excitement of becoming conscious of areas of judgment in one’s own heart and mind, because you cannot change ever so slightly an attitude—towards someone, let alone circumstances—you cannot change from a destructive quality of attitude towards someone without changing the lines of force emerging through your subconscious mind. And the evening and the morning is the beginning of the next day. If we change a shade of feeling or attitude or thought towards anyone or anything, into greater alignment with the divine expression, we are immediately changing mechanisms within our own subconscious realms, which are far more potent than we have suspected, because it is the lines of radiant force that move out from the mind, including the heart, which actually draw into creative manifestation the world around us as individuals.

Therefore, without going out there to change anything—the throne is within; the throne is the consciousness. As the spiritual King upon the throne, the conscious king upon the throne, begins to align every thought and feeling with my being, then I begin to re-create a manifest world—the day comes—and made manifest in that light is a world and an experience consonant with the nature of my radiation, my presence. Therefore there is re-creation and this extends beyond, because where does my world end? The mind sees a certain parameter of vision. But being a star in the firmament of heaven, my dominion extends beyond just this and that. There is a divine technology. The divine technology is referred to in Day Three, with the grasses and the seeds and the tree. The divine technology—you know, grass and trees and birds, they're not just there for visual pleasure. They're part of a divine technology which should be under the control of man’s consciousness. Man, this earth, is the body and the mechanism of the spirit. The consciousness of that spirit is housed in man, man’s consciousness. And all these things we see around us are divine instruments of re-creative and creative influence, actually not only in the earth—there are internal mechanisms, obviously in these forms—but also it relates to the quality of radiation from this planet, this archangelic body, the earth, into the larger creative field. So they’re not just cows wandering around out there; they are channels of radiation.

Now ascending again above the heaven, so that we begin to work in the heaven, releasing qualities of divine spirit in every moment, we begin to be aware of many mechanisms that the mind heretofore has been unconscious of, scrabbling around in the earth or the lower levels of heaven. Human consciousness is aware of various, what it thinks of as supernatural powers, like telepathy and telekinesis—moving objects with your mind; never mind trying to move a glass—one can see that this power of telekinesis is actually operational for everyone all the time. One is moving one’s whole world around one all the time by reason of the quality of radiation moving out. And one is drawing things to one and pushing things away all the time, or it appears to be that way—it is somewhat that way. The power of telekinesis is something which, although it is largely unconscious in most people, is an active process nevertheless.

As we ascend into greater awareness of divine identity and our sole concern is not to manipulate anything for ourselves but to play our part in the One Spirit, in the one mechanism, that is accomplishing God’s will. We begin to eliminate, for one thing—if things are moving towards us there isn’t the countermeasure of human concept and anxiety and fear, trying to hold it away. And on the other hand, if somebody or something begins to move away because of the impurities of attachment in the distorted subconscious, we’re not trying to hang on to things or people as they move away either, because we are part of the One. We really are part of the One. And the One is coordinating everything everywhere. Now think of that: The One Spirit is coordinating everything everywhere, and we begin to be consciously one with that movement. This takes all the struggle out of life. The perspiration begins at least to lessen as we ascend.

In times past, becoming a little bit aware of this one animating spirit that is coordinating everything, and feeling separate from it, we maybe have realized that we're living our lives down here—this is what most human beings think, and we've thought this: that I live my life down here and I decide to go there, and so on. When we were unconscious, somehow the whole moved us, our bodies, minds and hearts—not the angel's now—but we, who we thought we were, moved us into position to connect up with this body, for example. Now we were virtually unconscious, and yet there was still sufficient attunement with the spirit to be moved by the spirit so that the bodies, the minds and the hearts could be moved around and connect up with the mechanism where it needed to be connected up with. And then in the process we began to realize, well hey, this whole vast process is obviously being controlled by levels of intelligence other than where we are. We’re down here, and yet there were obviously these levels of intelligence and control operational to move us all around—so there were other levels of intelligence coordinating activities going on, on the surface of the earth. And that may be how we viewed it—and there are other focalizations of intelligence, obviously. But as we begin to ascend into the heaven, as on the Fourth Day, we begin to realize that the mind actually begins to have an experience of ascension, not because it goes anywhere but because it begins to yield and move more totally compliantly with the movement of spirit. It begins to harmonize with that and, for example, you begin to have a compulsion within you, a need for something, there’s a longing for something. In the old state those longings could be all sorts of distorted subconscious things. But coming clear, there are longings that move, and there are impulses that move, and it begins to be a clear channel. One begins to let that longing be expressed somehow into one’s world. Coming out of that heaven you express that Tone, not in a wanting way—you don’t want anything. It’s a longing to clothe the spirit, and one just clothes the spirit. And there, for example, is telekinesis at work, because it will be drawing what needs to be drawn to you to play your part in the larger design. It is being drawn—the influence has been extended into the whole, and what is needed is being drawn to you.

Now that is a change of organizing intelligence, actually. You begin to realize that my radiation of my being is radiating out. The mind, down here a little bit, becomes aware of the radiation, which is translated as a longing. And actually the spiritual radiation is going forth to draw what needs to be drawn, so that you can play your part and they, whoever it is or whatever it is, can play their part in the outworking cycle. But, you see, there is an ascension, because it's no longer a “higher level of intelligence” that’s organizing this. You become aware at this level that there is a movement through yourself. Now actually there are levels of higher intelligence, because once you’ve got the archangelic identity, we are focalizations of the one identity called the Archangelic Spiritual Focus for this planet. But then obviously this identity is part of a much larger pattern, and you might say the fall—what was the fall? Somebody began to judge. There was judgment because what was coming out of the cosmos, factors of radiation that needed to be accommodated and harmonized with, weren’t.

In spirit, each of us—us little tiny things, seemingly—we begin to provide the restoration because we begin to harmonize with whatever vibrational factors come from anywhere. At the moment we see it coming from our wife, or Joe Blow in the office, these discordant factors. But we accommodate all those in the Tone. And in spirit we are re-attuning this earth with the cosmic whole. We are a part of cosmic spirit, cosmic mind and the cosmic body. And in essence, as we harmonize these tiny little things, these vibrational factors that come to us, as we harmonize them in the moment into what we call my divine character—my divine character is me, the earthly archangelic identity—and beyond that, which my mind hasn't ascended to be able to discuss at this point! because the creative activity is required at the level where we do have consciousness, so that’s fine. There are more and more wonders of experience in man, in his consciousness, yet to emerge. That’s the beauty of the process of ascension. But we are where we are.

And so what more thrilling experience of the expression of our creative genius, our creative beings, is there than letting this spirit come into the consciousness of man and begin to re-attune it with cosmic spirit and cosmic mind—cosmic intelligence. And then, as that attunement is achieved, spirit can move all the way through and the patterns and functions inherent in that substance called spirit is translated in the forms of substance all the way down, and those levels of substance have consciousness of the nature and fundamental activity of that spirit, which I am. So world service is what we're involved in. And as several of you have emphasized in some of your presentations that I’ve heard, we don't have to go anywhere. I am already everywhere. But I am focused in my divine radiant activity into the whole here and now. And I do it by expressing who I am.
