The Twelve Segments Of Mankind

The  Twelve  Segments  Of  Mankind

Uranda   July 4, 1953

This day commemorates a great venture entered one hundred and seventy-seven years ago by those those who dared to dream of a land of the free and the brave. Our nation has paused to remember something of its birthright, to remember somewhat the labor pains of the birth of a nation, to remember the ideals, the hopes. I thought it might be well for us to give a moment's thought to our birthright as human beings, the birthright that is available to every man, woman and child on the face of the earth, that we may remember the goal of attainment, that we may remember something of the labor pains by which, in the struggles of the world, the beginnings of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth have been brought forth.

We remember our Master and His Ministry among men, and that which He experienced at the hands of human beings. We have recognized many times that His greatest service to us was the revelation of Deity, and that revelation is possible only by reason of oneness with the Father. We have come to the point where our attention is centered in the processes of integration. How can we let this reality of integration manifest in us and through us? We recognize that if we fail to reach the goal of attainment of the oneness of Heaven and earth in ourselves, individually, we cannot be of any real service in helping to attain that goal for the whole body of humanity.

At various times we have given thought to God's Love and recognized that Love was, and is, the integrating force by which all things which are a true part of the Divine formation are held in pattern, a force by which the patterns of relationship are established, near or far. We remember the One Law, the two Great Commandments, and we see here, without question, the basic Law of Integration: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy mind, with all thy soul, and with all thy strength. This is the first and great Commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” This is indeed the Law of Integration, and it is under this Law that we have stability—in the solar system and in the atom. It is a violation of this Law, in the unstable fringe of atomic substance, which produces the violence of the atomic bomb. We recognize that we must be practical. We are living on earth, facing certain problems, and difficulties, and necessities. How can we let this Law of Integration be effective in and through us in relationship to these practical necessities of living, and how can we let the Magic of Living be a reality in and through ourselves?

I would like to draw your attention to the record, certain words our Master spoke which have a very definite and direct bearing on the answer to these questions. “And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples.” Before proceeding further, let us pause to recognize the significance of the twelve disciples. We commonly hear of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel, and Jacob, who became Israel, had twelve sons. One of those sons, Joseph, had two sons, and there was a tribe of the Children of Israel named for each of the two sons, but there was no tribe of Joseph. There were thirteen tribes of the Children of Israel, commonly spoken of as the twelve tribes—and we recognize that the Priesthood, or the Levites, were  to carry on the traditional pattern of the patriarchswere supposed to carry on the traditional pattern of the patriarchs, the centering or the fatherhood of the twelve tribes, to inherit the responsibility of Jacob, or Israel, and his twelve sons. Then we have the Master and His twelve disciples, the thirteen altogether in all three cases. The thirteenth, in each case, represented the invisible realm of Being. The twelve, in each case, represented the patterns of formation in life and being on earth.

When we reach the point of a consideration of the Book of Revelation we come to the outline of the four-and-twenty elders, and we recognize that four-and-twenty is twice twelve—recognizing the positive and negative aspects of formation in the twelve. The four-and-twenty of Revelation carries out exactly the same pattern as, for instance, with the twelve tribes, for in the tribes there were the men and the women of the tribe, the four-and-twenty again emphasizing the twelve. Carrying out the pattern, we have the twelve months of the year. We have the day of twelve hours and the night of twelve hours, the four-and-twenty, or the positive and negative aspects of the twelve. So, whether it be with the day or the year, it is still the twelve. All of these things have certainly not been made evident by chance, by coincidence. There must be significance. We could spend a great deal of time on this one subject, but I would like to draw your attention to other things. So, let it suffice to remind you that the twelve tribes of the Children of Israel were supposed to provide symbolical representation of the twelve vibratory focalizations or patterns of humanity.

Humanity as a whole, counting all men, women and children, is the creation of God—Adam and Eve. Humanity today, in its wholeness—all-inclusive, needing to be made whole—is the Adam and the Eve of this this moment. Each female is a part of Eve, and each male is a part of Adam. And the body of Adam and Eve, in their patterns of relatedness, or oneness, has continued since the dawn of the history of man. Adam and Eve is, today. I say is in order to emphasize the reality of integration—Adam and Eve in the sense of the body of humanity. It is not a wholesome, whole and beautiful body, as God first created it. There are limitations and miseries, sufferings and sorrows. The stature of Adam and the stature of Eve have greatly decreased, and I am not thinking of it so much in the physical sense as in the sense of the moral and character aspects of being. There is not the noble fulness of beauty and capacity, quality and character, that first characterized the only begotten Son of God.

Mankind, one body of humanity, in the beginning, insofar as this earth is concerned—not being concerned for the moment with the planets or solar systems—was the Only Begotten Son of God. The whole body of humanity is now, as far as this earth is concerned, the only begotten Son of God. And no man or woman on the face of the earth who lives and breathes can be excluded from that body. Even though we may say, “That human being is dead to reality,” still that human being is a part of the body as it now exists, with its limitations, its sufferings, its sorrows. And this body needs to be healed. The body has been dying, but it has not reached a point of being dead. Individual human beings have died but the body of Adam has never died, as yet—the body of Eve has never died, as yet.

Whether it be the twelve tribes or the twelve disciples, they were supposed to be symbolical focalizations, representation of the twelve aspects of the positive and negative body of man, the twelve phases of being in mankind—the twelve tribes. But if we see that this point with respect to the twelve tribes is real we must accept every man, woman and child, of every race and color and creed, as having membership in the twelve tribes; for the twelve tribes of the children of Israel were supposed to provide the beginning points by which the whole body of humanity could be integrated into a controlled body, the whole body of Adam including Eve—the Son of God. But the twelve tribes of the children of Israel conceived themselves to be the thing, rather than the symbol of the thing. Rather than representation, they developed a pattern of exclusion, deeming themselves to be set apart from the rest of humanity.

The twelve tribes, then, the twelve disciples, the twelve focalizations, however, whenever, they may appear, provide an understanding of the completed cycle in relationship to the Central Son, or the higher Son, for the Son of God is the only begotten Son of God on the level of manifestation only. Every level of being has its own manifestation of the only begotten Son of God, and as the planets of our solar system represent one level we have another level on earth, as such. And the higher point in relationship to the Son we even call the Sun, the Sun which centers the solar system. The Sun is the symbol of the Son, the highest point of truly viewing the only begotten Son of God, at the point of the third level up from our physical realm of Being. The planet earth and the forms upon it provide the first level—man, the crowning creation, to be the Son of God; the planets of the solar system provide another level, the second; and then, the Sun itself. Each level has its Son, but every Son is related to every other Son, for every Son above finds expression on the level of the Son below, and is, in each case, the revelation of that which is above. So, though we may say there is an only begotten Son on every level, all levels constitute the One Son, for no level by itself has any true meaning, and each level is a particularized revelation of the next highest level by which the Son of God is revealed.

Once we carry the pattern back to the Central SUN of Suns, and to the GOD of all Gods, we see that the cosmos, centered in the Central Point of Deity, is the Son of God. Whether we think of the cosmos as the Son of God, or any of the levels in between that Central Point of Being and this earth, or whether we give thought to the body of humanity, mankind, as the Son of God, we have the privilege of knowing, in all the different aspects of revelation, the reality of the One. By this means you can begin to see, at least in faint outline to glimpse, the processes of integration, from the realm where we dwell to the very center of the Cosmos; for it is integrated, it is one thing, and all its levels are revelations of the one thing. And humanity, mankind, is supposed to be a specialized revelation of the one thing, whether we think of that as the cosmos or simply as some point in the intervening levels of Cosmic Being.

You gain a deeper insight, then, into the basic truth that mankind was made in the image and likeness of God, and, being so made, was the only begotten Son of God. Our Master coming, revealing the essence of that which mankind was supposed to reveal, was called the only begotten Son of God. And if we had allowed ourselves to be integrated with Him at that time there would have been the full manifestation, the full revelation, of the Only Begotten Son of God, a cycle of revelation initiated by our Master while He walked among men on earth.

Here we have the words that came from the lips of the One who so served us on earth: “And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples”—His contact points with the twelve segments of mankind, “He gave them power”; for to the degree that they—the twelve, or those who should partake of the reality of that represented by the twelve—answered the call, “He gave them power.” That representation, then, of that which was supposed to be, holds true for us now. Human beings have seen the twelve disciples as segregated from themselves. And there are those religious teachers, or leaders, or churches, that declare that the power was given to the twelve disciples only, and that they must be seen as separate and apart from the rest of us. They have failed to grasp the fact that instead of being segregated they were supposed to be the integrating points of focalization by which we might have direct contact with the Central Essence of Being, and that through them we might have an integrated body of mankind, containing the twelve segments of humanity.

“And when He had called unto Him.” When He called His twelve disciples He called you, in this generation, for you are one of the twelve—the twelve disciples representing the twelve segments of mankind. The body of Adam has continued till this day, and you are a part of one of the twelve segments; you are a part of one of the twelve disciples now, in this hour, just as much as any man in any hour when the Master Himself walked on earth. “And when He called unto Him His twelve disciples,” He called you, for the twelve negative aspects of the twelve segments are included, automatically, on the basis of Biblical symbolism, when we speak of the twelve positive aspects of the twelve segments.

He called you. In that moment He was not talking just to twelve men back there. He was talking to you, in this hour. He was talking to any human being who belonged to any of the twelve segments of the body of mankind. And there has never been a baby born on earth who did not belong in the twelve segments of mankind, even though the point of focalization in some carried out in relationship to the thirteenth, or the point of Essence of Centering, for remember that Levi was one of the original twelve, and the thirteenth was achieved by splitting one of the twelve. So, even though Levi was the thirteenth, Levi was one of the twelve. There has never been a baby born on earth, of any color, in any land, in any situation, not one, but what he or she was born with a birthright, as a member of one of the twelve segments of the body of humanity. You are one of the twelve. Whether you think of yourself as related to a tribe or a disciple makes not one whit of difference, for they both reveal exactly the same thing. And you, male or female, are one of the twelve now, whether you know it or not; whether you sell your birthright for a mess of pottage or not. Who, among the children of men, is willing to arise and claim the birthright? For every man, woman and child has that birthright, every baby that was ever born on the face of the earth, white or black, brown or yellow, it makes no difference. Regardless of the time or the circumstance, regardless of man's classification of parenthood, race or creed, regardless of anything, everything, every child that has ever been born on the face of the earth has been born with a birthright, an heritage, as a member of one of the twelve segments of the body of mankind.

So, He spoke to you, and I but re-echo His words. “And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples.” Do you begin to see that this He has not yet achieved? That when still waits for the future. Those words do not apply to twelve men back there, as some may assume. The twelve apostles, the twelve disciples, the twelve tribes, the twelve elders—it makes no difference what we call them—are all the same thing, and they include you if you will let it be so. But the word is: “And when He had called.” He has been calling, but the twelve segments of humanity, either in total number or in representative form, have not been truly called in the sense of response. He has called, but they have not let themselves be called. They were too busy with something else, too many important things, to be concerned about the birthright. They were too hungry. So, like Esau, they have been selling their birthright for a mess of pottage.

“And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power.” Now, whether it be in total form or in true representation, whether it be with twelve individuals, as such, or four-and-twenty, or a hundred and forty-four thousand—which is twelve times twelve thousand, is it not? the same principle carried out—wherever there comes together a true focalization of the twelve, there they receive power. But those who represent the whole cannot expect to have the power that should manifest through the whole. There were twelve men who were called to be the twelve disciples But we recall that Judas betrayed, Peter denied, and certain ones followed afar off, so those who were called the twelve apostles were not. They undertook to classify Paul as an apostle, for instance. He was an apostle of his degree of understanding of the things of God, but in any true sense he cannot be classified as one of the twelve apostles, although he was a member of the twelve segments of humanity.

Can you find any point in recorded history when there were twelve—apostles, tribes, elders, disciples—twelve who were faithful and true? Where, in history, have there been twelve who were faithful and true? Not of the tribes of Israel, not of the sons of Jacob, not of the twelve disciples, not with respect to twelve apostles. The pattern has been projected over and over again, but not once in all the range of recorded history can you find an example of the true focalization of the twelve segments of humanity in a true and absolute sense.

If, at this point in the pattern of the Master's Ministry, the twelve had actually received what He gave they would have been twelve faithful and true representatives of the whole body of humanity. The Master would have had twelve contact points, or handles, by which to take hold of the body of mankind, by which He could have controlled that body, by which He could have caused the power to manifest. But would they let themselves be integrated as true representatives? You will find, if you study the pattern, that they had their bickerings, their differences, their directions of interest, their little feuds—those twelve men whom the Master called, who were supposed to be something, but, insofar as the twelve were concerned, never became what they were supposed to be. But suppose they had, and they had proved to be worthy of the trust—twelve good men, faithful and true. Suppose they had received what the Master gave, what a different story there would have been written upon the pages of the past nineteen centuries, for, “He gave them power.” But did they receive it? Oh, to some slight extent. But even with respect to the working of the power and to the people who might be blest by it, there was, forthwith, bickering; there was, forthwith, a loss of the power.

After they had received something of the power and had thrown it away, the Master said, “Tarry in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and when the day of the Holy Spirit is fully come, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you, ye shall receive power.” He had already given power to start with. They had started to receive it and then had lost it. And He said, “After certain things are true of you, you will receive power.” Again, the hundred and twenty who waited for the day of Pentecost—one, two, twelve, multiplied by ten, the same pattern all over again. The hundred and twenty began to receive the power which He had already given, and again they went out and used it wrongly, again they lost it, again they had their differences as to how it should be used, and for whose blessing, and in what manner. So, once more it was gone. But the Central Essence of Being had already given it.

“And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples.” He has issued the call. We can respond here. And if there be twelve representatives of the segments of mankind—and they can be representatives without respect to color, or race, or creed—if there be twelve representatives, faithful and true, in this moment, here, or in any moment anywhere, twelve representatives who have truly come unto Him, centered in Him, accepting the basic Law of Integration, they will receive power because they will receive the Holy Spirit. Any twelve, anywhere, who are true representatives of the twelve segments of humanity—let them be either as twelve single individuals or any multiple of twelve that you may have, from twelve men to four-and-twenty, or on up to a hundred and twenty, or a hundred and forty-four thousand, it makes no difference—let twelve come together as true representatives of the twelve segments of humanity, and, being centered under the Law, they will receive the outpouring of the spirit and they will receive the power which the Master gave. The power He gave has never been truly received. Not by the disciples. He had given it before but it was not truly received by the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. They received only a little of it, and they lost it. The twelve children of Jacob received a little of it, but they lost it. All of the patterns of twelve that have ever been worked out with any meaning on the face of the earth began to receive something of it. But show me a pattern where they did not lose it, and throw it away, where they did not violate the reality of their birthright!

Integration under the Law

It has taken twenty thousand years for it to finally come to this point where I might appear on earth and speak to a little handful of people in a little valley in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, at the center of the United States of America, the center of a continent, if you please. And have we yet established twelve true representatives, twelve true patterns of representation for the twelve segments of humanity? Twelve who have represented humanity, yes, but have we found twelve who have represented humanity and God? To represent God to humanity, and humanity to God—that is the duty of the twelve. That was the calling of the twelve sons of Jacob, the twelve tribes of Israel, the twelve disciples—to represent the twelve segments of humanity to God, and to represent God to the twelve segments of humanity. Let those twelve be found, as twelve single individuals or any multiple of twelve, in true representation, and they shall, in that moment—when they shall come together with one accord in one place—receive the Holy Spirit and power shall be given unto them.

They shall receive power, for the power has already been given. The power was given when man was first created, and God breathed the breath of life into man's nostrils and man became a living soul. In that moment the power was given and, as far as God is concerned, it has never beer taken back. It was given then. It has been re-given or revealed as having been given, over and over again down to this present day. And still human beings are too busy to give heed to their birthright, too deeply enslaved to be concerned about their independence, to be involved with their busy business to be about our Father's business in the Kingdom of Heaven that is at hand

“And when He had called unto Him.” Where will He succeed in having achieved that? He started to do it in many ways, at different times, but it still has not been done. When? Can we make that when be now? “And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease”—diseases of the body and the mind and the heart. Power—over all the things that limit the body of Adam and the body of Eve, the things that still crucify the body of the Son of God.

If the body of Jesus, centralizing the body of the Son of God, had truly died upon the cross, then the body of the Son of God, which includes all mankind, would have been destined to die. But as the Master's body was in the tomb for a little time, and came forth from the coma into life, so do we see that, even though man failed to receive the power that was given, failed to use it aright, failed to let the twelve segments be truly focalized, there was a period of coma for the world that is called the Dark Ages, and for some centuries—which are as moments, or hours, in cosmic time—the process of resurrection has been at work in the body of the Son of God, for that body did not die. Through these centuries the resurrecting process has been going on, and you are called to have the privilege of beginning to see the reality of that resurrection, the reality of that life of the body of the Son of God which mankind is.

The question still remains: Even though our Lord and King has given the power, when shall it be received? That is the question which remains unanswered still; for, searching among human beings in the body of the Son of God, we have not yet found those who would let the question be answered. But God has faith that in the body of the Son of God there will be found those who will let the question be answered, the power be received, the plan fulfilled, that the Son may be restored to the House of the Father, and be a prodigal son no more. The Father awaits the privilege of welcoming the Son. Who shall come, and when? Who shall be the ones through whom the plan shall be fulfilled? Who shall they be? When shall they appear? Blessed shall they be, whoever they are, whenever and wherever they shall appear, to the Glory of God, and to the Blessing of the children of men, that they may reveal the reality of the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever. Aum-en.

One Nation Under God

One  Nation  Under  God

YouTube  Video

 Martin Cecil   December 7, 1980

Into Thy presence, O Lord, we come with singing, and into Thy courts with praise. Then we are silent before Thee, that Thy temple may be prepared for Thy coming. So may Thy Word be spoken on earth in this hour. Thy Word is the bread of life by which Thy people are nourished. Thy Word is the security of life by which Thy people are sustained. Thy Word is the creative power of life by which Thy will is done. Thus the Lord speaks to the faithful ones out of the whirlwind and says:

Who are these arrogant imbeciles who darken counsel by words without knowledge? Put away the foolishness. Accept the responsibilities of manhood and womanhood, that my Word may be heard, demanding of thee, that thou mayest answer: Where art thou when I now relay the foundations of the earth? Answer me. Who laid the measures thereof now, if thou knowest, or who has stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the heavenly foundations fastened or who laid the cornerstone of truth thereof; when the morning stars sing together, and all the sons of God shout for joy?

The creative forces of God work in their sequence to bring forth according to His will. We assemble, that we may indeed be with one accord in one place, knowing agreement in God. In the quietness of that agreement, in the stillness, serenity and peace of the heaven, the spirit of God moves as the whirlwind moves. Out of that movement springs the Word of God spoken on earth.

Water is the name given to the first force, when the spirit of God moves upon the face of the waters. Out of this movement springs the Word of God which says to the faithful ones of the earth, “Where art thou?” This Word is spoken through those who know the truth in their living. We acknowledge our responsibility in this. “Where art thou as I lay the foundations of the earth, the new earth?”

I speak these words for myself. You rightly speak them for yourselves. I cannot speak them for you, only for myself. You cannot speak them for any other, just for yourself. In this hour this morning as I speak these words you speak these words, silently withal, but they are your words just as surely as they are mine, spoken to all the world but heard in the hearts of those who are faithful to the Lord: “Where are you as I lay the foundations of the earth?” These foundations are established in the new heaven. Because of the new heaven, the new earth takes form. We share the responsibility for the new heaven in this hour, and in every hour, as the Word of truth is spoken in living on earth.

Out of the whirlwind comes the Word. Out of the air of spirit, by reason of the water of truth, comes the Word which establishes the earth, the earth under heaven. The foundations of the earth are laid; the earth takes form. It only takes form because those foundations are laid. Individually we speak the Word, “I lay those foundations in my living.” That is where we are, doing what we are here to do. And so the earth, which is a new earth, takes form. It takes form, revealing that the morning stars do sing together in oneness, in purity of tone, and the sons and daughters of God shout for joy in their living. There is no experience more joyful to human beings than that of living. Dying is a sorrowful experience. The Word of God is spoken on earth, being revealed in this fashion. The kingdom comes. The power of creative action by spirit is known and the glory shines round about.

We rightly bring all this to focus in agreement that it may be so established, not only in this hour but in each succeeding hour as we move in the cycles of the whirlwind to let God's will be done. There is a saying in the human world that if you sow the wind you reap the whirlwind. Humanity as a whole, which is composed of individuals, reaps the whirlwind. We do not see the whirlwind as being merely destructive but as being the source for the creative fulfilment of God's will. Associating ourselves with that movement of the whirlwind, behold, all things are made new.

It is indeed arrogant imbecility for human beings to try to lead the world with any expectation of a creative fulfilment. Yet there are vast numbers of people doing this, or attempting it. God is forgotten, regardless of such claims of the lips as there may be. In the forming of the United States of America the attitude of those who were responsible at the time was that there should be one nation under God. This view is enshrined in the constitution of the United States. It seems that in such instances nobody dares use the word; it might create an uproar. While, as I say, the words may not necessarily mean very much if used, the fact of being under God is absolutely essential to the reality of a nation. Where else on the face of the earth is there even lip service paid to this? There is no true nation except under God.

Of course using words to this effect does not necessarily mean very much, but still the absence of those words certainly indicates the state of human consciousness. How to build a nation, ignoring God? It is quite impossible. No wonder there is wrangling. Those who wrangle are not wrangling about God but about themselves, trying to take this portion of the earth by force for human purposes. And there is a question of course as to how this shall be done. Nobody can agree. Of course not, how could they? This is continuing evidence of movement away from God. “Let us have a nation without God” is what is fundamentally being said. This is true the world around.

We ourselves are concerned with the nation of God on earth, calling it the kingdom: a nation under God, a great nation consequently, a nation not only capable of superseding all humanly constructed nations—the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ—but of providing the government of God for the children of men and, by reason of the children of men, for the whole creative field for which they are responsible. This comes with certainty as there is present on earth, within the body of mankind and the consciousness of mankind, the Word of God spoken. The Word of God spoken does not necessarily tell human beings about God. What words could possibly be used in any case? Theologians have been struggling with this for ages and have darkened counsel by words without knowledge. It is that God should be present on earth, in action on earth, the reality of Jehovah. In this hour we accept the responsibility for this individually or we remain, with countless others, arrogant imbeciles. The Word is spoken in this hour, let it be spoken in all the hours to come, by me. This is my Word. I trust it is yours also.

None can stand against God. When God is present the reality is present, the truth is present, the creative power is present, because I am present; and again I speak for each one. None can stand against it. The question is asked, because the creative cycle is in motion; it is asked of human beings everywhere: Where are you? Where do you stand? What is the quality of your living? I will demand of thee and answer thou me. Where do you stand as the foundations of the new earth are laid? Trying to sustain the old earth, to keep it around a little longer? Or wholly occupied with establishing the foundations of the new?—spiritual foundations, largely invisible foundations, the foundations of character, of the quality of living, seeking nothing but concerned alone to bring the living Word of truth into the earth in momentary living, the action of God. This action doesn't conform to the concepts of men as to how God would act.

Those who think anything about God are inclined to imagine that He comes with a great thunder, arrayed with lightning, to lay something on human beings. No, He comes quietly. Human beings make the noise. There is silence in heaven for the space of half an hour, enough time to establish what is needful. It doesn't require years and years. Thirty minutes should be enough, when there are those who speak the Word of God on earth, not merely in what is said. We all say something day by day. I have not noticed that anyone has yet taken a vow of silence. So what is said may be included in the Word of God, what is thought also, what is felt, what is accepted into experience. Human beings are accustomed to accepting trash, garbage. They think nothing of it. Everybody stinks, so nobody notices it! “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” They shall be God in action on earth.

So this stable foundation is established, is laid, and the earth takes new form. The old form dissolves, disintegrates, falls away, so that the new form may appear on the true foundation, the foundation of the Word of God. To the extent that we have no other gods before this One, it is done. It cannot be prevented from being done. Arrogant imbeciles do not realize this, which is really fortunate. It is better that they shouldn't. It leaves God with a free hand, when He has a hand to use on earth. But in all our ways we may proclaim the truth of God, not by speaking those words over and over—who knows what they mean?—but by being God in action on earth. That is humility, because man was so designed. To accept that design is to be humble; to reject it is to be arrogant.

We share an understanding of these things. Let it be more than an understanding. Let us stand with God, one nation under God, that the truth may be made known, the foundation truly laid, and the earth restored. Here is our unified purpose, the sole reason for our presence on earth in human form. The human form with its consciousness is of little moment except as it allows the revelation of God in action on earth—the revelation of the one I Am. Here is our service this morning, not to congratulate ourselves on our understanding but to let the kingdom come and God's will be done in earth because we have let it be established in the heaven of our living, giving glory to God always in the highest.

Like A Man

 Like  A  Man

Martin Cecil   May 8, 1977

As individuals, how great is your sense of destiny? This ministry has meaning and effect to the extent that those who compose it are keenly conscious of a sense of destiny. How aware are you that individually speaking you each play a part which is absolutely unique and essential in the achievement of those purposes for which this ministry exists? It isn't only a matter of the other fellow having a sense of destiny, so that you might ride along upon what someone else's experience is. That sense of destiny comes to the extent that our involvement with the earthly state recedes in our experience. If we are wrapped up in the world, which certainly seems to be present all around us, then amongst the four billion other human beings on earth we become equally meaningless; there is no sense to our continued existence. So it is reasonable to suppose that we would feel rather futile. Most people try not to think about it, but presumably we have seen something of a vision which transcends the outlook of most people.

The voice of the Lord has spoken, and in varying measure we have heard that voice: "Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away"; remember who you are and why you are here on earth; let the sense of destiny be known. His voice speaks this morning as we share this hour, to call the truth to remembrance. We may hear it, even as Job heard it long ago speaking out of the whirlwind and saying, "Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?" Who is it that has usurped the position of the truth in your experience to bring a sense of meaninglessness? Who is it that has attempted to control and direct your living by the knowledge of your mind and the feelings of your heart? Who is it that has held sway in your experience so that the sense of true destiny was obscured? As long as this one continues to exist in your experience, of what real value could you be on earth? Do you remember now, and in each succeeding moment, that you were sent as an emissary of the Lord into the earth to manifest and live in human formyour present human form?

"Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me."Remember that man was created male and female. Man is not just the positive aspect of the combination, or the one who should occupy that position, nor indeed the negative aspect, but both—there is no man without both. "Gird up now thy loins like a man." Be prepared to remember what it is to be a man, for in man is the sense of destiny. Man was created in the image and likeness of God for a purpose. Without the experience of man there can be no experience of true purpose. Human beings have invented purposes for themselves to try to fill the void which they feel. If they succeed they have succeeded only in deluding themselves. "Gird up now thy loins like a man," male and female, and hear the question that is asked of youas it has been asked of all generations of human beings to this hour: "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding."

If you have made any claims to intelligence, if you thought you knew something, answer this question. The question is not asked merely to prove the ignorance of human beings but to emphasize in human consciousness what naturally should be known. "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?" What are the foundations of the earth? This is not talking about the earth itself but about the foundations of the earth, the reason for the existence of the earth. The question might be seen as relating to the planet but it can be seen as relating to what we call "physical form," great or small. What is it that causes the existence of physical form? What is it that has brought forth the dimensional universe? What is it that maintains the existence of this planet and all that is present upon the surface of it? What are the foundations of the earth? The heaven is the foundation of the earth; without the heaven there could be no earth. What is it that you know of the heaven?

"Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof?" Do you remember? Or are you in darkness? There are many human beings who might say, "The Lord did this." But do they know? Do they know what their words mean? Is there in reality any separation between heaven and earth, between the Lord and the truth of man? Who is the Lord? Pharaoh asked this question and then proceeded to answer it, "I know not the Lord." Apparently in that instance he was at least honest. He acknowledged the fact that he did not know the Lord. It would seem that all too many human beings are not that honest. They think they know when they don't. They have a concept of the mind, they have an intellectual belief, they might even have a belief of the heart, but what is known? What is known of the reason for all existence? Some of the facts of existence are seen and experienced, but what is known of the reason for those facts? If we are capable of girding up our loins like a man the understanding would obviously be present that characterizes a man, and that understanding includes the truth of being, an awareness of the fact that there was no separation between the truth of one's own being and the truth of all being; there was and is no such separation.

What is known of this? Insofar as you are concerned, doubtless you have many ideas about it, but what in heaven do you know? That knowing is based in a sense of destiny, in a sense of eternal purpose, in the fact of one's own being. The Lord says, "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?" Are you capable of giving an honest answer? "I was there. I was with Thee. I was and am a part of what Thou art."

When the creation of the earth is mentioned most people think of it in terms of the past; sometime in ages past something happened. The solar system took form somehow and in due season the earth appeared. This is idle speculation in the field of imagination. What do we know? We know that the earth is here; we know that we are here; we know something of the vastness of the form of creation. Has creation ceased? It's still here. If there is creation there is a Creator. Without the Creator the creation is not. The creation is; it certainly has not ceased. It's here and the Creator is here. Now is the day of creation. The creation is known in this present moment. It may only be speculated about, insofar as human consciousness is concerned, as creation may have related to the past. Whoever may have been present at a particular point of creation in the past may be capable of remembering it but what is known is what is present now, the creation that is here now. In human consciousness there may be idle speculation, imagination; in the true consciousness of being there may be memory.

But what is it that is needful? Merely to speculate, or conceivably to remember? I think not. What is needful is to know now the reality of creation, the reason for creation now, the foundations of the earth in all its myriad forms now. The truth is present now. The truth can only be known now. Certainly the creative process was clear to man somewhere in the past. Man participated in that creative process once: "When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy"when there was harmonious expression by reason of the mind of man on earth, by reason of his thoughts and his feelings. "When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy"when the sons and daughters of God incarnate on earth were filled with the joys of creation, and there were the beautiful sounds of creation on every hand. Let this sense of destiny rise up in you, that you may begin to know the truth of creation now, as the morning stars begin to sing together once again and the sons and daughters of God shout for joy.

For this to occur there are many questions to be answered, not for you, but by you. Human beings are always demanding answers; there is what is called an insatiable quest for knowledge. They have been so busy trying to find answers that they never heard the question that was being asked of them: "Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me." This begins to put man back where he belongscapable of answering the questions of the creative process on earth, capable of handling his field of responsibility in creation. Human beings have imagined that they would know these things by asking questions, by seeking to multiply knowledge, the idea being that when one has all the knowledge then one would be able to answer the questions and do what is required; but who would be doing it? The Creator or an imitation?namely human beings exalting themselves into the position of a creator.

What are the foundations of the earth? There is a great deal of awareness of the earth and of the multitude of forms it takes, but what of the reason for all these things? Why do they exist? For what purpose? What is it that should exist in this way and what is it that should not? Do you not suppose that there are many things on the face of the earth that shouldn't exist? I am sure that human beings everywhere think that there is much that should not exist according to their view of the matter, but those views are usually contradictorynobody knows. But there are those things that should exist now and there are those things that should pass away now. This is the creative process and it relates to the foundations of the earth, what is back of the forms everywhere around us. We are not properly dealing directly with the forms but with the foundation of the forms, for the foundation determines what the forms should be. The heaven is the reason for the earth, and there is One who is the reason for the heaven. When the earth reveals what the heaven proclaims, then the true creation is made known; and man is an essential part, not only of the creation but of the Creator. Creator and creation blend in man.

"Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades?" Have you ever experienced any sweet influences? There are many experiences on earth which human beings have deemed to be sweet. How much influence do these sweet things have over you? Your experience in the world has been largely subject to the influence of sweet things, the things that you deem to be sweet in your experience. Unfortunately human beings are very much aware that the sour comes with the sweet. Perhaps they may suppose that because of the sour the sweet tastes all the sweeter and therefore it would not be possible to know any sweetness if it were not for the fact of sourness. The question put is, "Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades?" Are you capable of handling those sweet influences without being subject to them, or is your experience one of a desperate chase after what you deem to be sweet? I suppose these things could be summarized with respect to eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriagesex, in other words. Certainly human beings have devised a vast array of methods of generating sweetness, synthetic sweetness, saccharin. It is interesting that saccharin is now being banned, one method human beings have invented to bind the sweet influences.

While this question is asked of man, male and female, we may see how it particularly applies to the male, because one of the primary sources of the sweet influences is considered to be that which is provided by the female. Where are the men who are capable of binding that sweet influence? The voice of the Lord has long called for men on earth. The very fact that the One who came to offer salvation to the world in the direct sense was a man is indicative of the vital role to be played by those who might be classified as men. It is said that woman was taken out of man. The word "rib" is used to describe the basis for what occurred. A bone of the head wasn't used, neither a bone of the foot, but a bone of the apparatus which keeps safe the heart and the lungsbut we may think of it particularly in terms of the heart. Male and female were supposed to be one flesh, one being, a proper role to be played by each in relationship to the other; but the female was designed to keep a man's heart, a male's heart, safe. She has failed dismally in this. She is rightly the keeper of his heart, of his home, of his heaven. The male has been left without this protection. The female has been concerned for her own heart, her own home, and mostly her own hell.

Man is male and female. The female was called womb man, the means by which the heart, the home and the heaven might be kept safe. The female purpose was not to try to get anything from the male but to provide that essential enfoldment. She may consider these things, but the man may consider them also, because his responsibility is to bind the sweet influences of Pleiades in his own experience. This is not an instruction to try to dominate women. This is something which relates to men and what they know from within themselves. What is the nature of their attitude toward women? What is the nature of their own feelings toward women, and how much are those feelings allowed to determine what a man does? The world has been filled with violence, principally because of the weakness of the male. Weak people act in desperation. Desperate action brings violence, and the world is filled with violence, a reflection of the weakness of the male. Of course he displayed his weakness in the first place by forgetting his manhood and pandering to the female. That is the story of the fall, as it is called. He went along with the female who had lost her integrity, and fundamentally the male of the human race has continued this evidence of failure and weakness ever since.

"Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades?" Can you stop being controlled by your desire, your lust for what you deem to be sweet? This not only applies to men. I have brought it to point with respect to the male attitude toward the female, but the female doesn't lack in desire and lust for what she deems to be sweetness. That's what she wants too. So her attitude needs to bind those influences so that they are not dominating the experience of existence.

The American Constitution says something about the pursuit of happinessthe pursuit of happiness, the lusting after sweetness. Man was designed to lust after the Lord. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." It leaves no room at all for all the worldly things after which human beings lust. The beauty of life for man could never be known on the basis of such reversed polarity, and yet how many have awakened to the truth of this, not as a theory but as a fact in their own living? What are the things that you want? What are the things that you think you must have? These are the things that control you, and human beings are controlled by things. No wonder they have become things themselves, pawns to be manipulated by other human beings; just things. Maybe this is what we should call human beings collectively: "things." But a thing has absolutely no basis for comparison with Man.

The sweet influences of Pleiades must be bound by those who have been willing to let this experience be known for themselves. We can theorize about it as long as we exist and nothing whatsoever happens. It only begins to happen when someone is willing to experience it, and again we come back to that little word "willing." That's all it is! Most people, if they were honest, would say, "Well, I don't want to experience it." They try to delude themselves with a surface display of theory, but underneath, "I don't want to experience it," is the attitude. "I like to be dominated by these sweet influences. I like to have my life bring the experiences of sweetness, even though the experiences of sourness also come." You can't have one without the other as long as these constitute the god, the lust after the things of the earth, particularly those things which are deemed to be sweet. The sickly sweetness of what may be experienced in this way bears little relationship to the natural sweetness which comes in the experience of Man.

"Gird up now thy loins like a man" and answer the real questions that are being asked. And when we answer these questions correctly we find ourselves as true male and female components in Man.
