Woman represents the negative manifestation of humanity. Man represents the positive phase of humanity. But humanity as a whole is represented as a WOMAN in relationship to the positive expression of God. We have, for instance in Revelation, the Church and its membership of men and women forming the Bride of the Lamb.
From the standpoint of the relationship in actuality, in the right sense of Man and God, Man and Woman are One, and the Two in Oneness are negative to God, so that, in that Absolute Oneness of Man and Woman the manifestation of WOMAN in relationship to God is made manifest, so that the Fatherhood of God, working through the Woman, manifests as the Oneness of Man and Woman, permits the manifestation of the birth of the Child, as revealed in the case of Jesus Christ.
The PERFECT WOMAN, insofar as this world is concerned, is the perfect manifestation or blending of Man and Woman, so that together they make a Complete Unit that is negative or responsive to God, so that that which is of God may come through that ONE BEING into the world.
"They two shall be one flesh," and if they are one flesh they cannot be two pieces of flesh and separated, and considered as being distinct, one from the other; therefore, to the degree that we recognize that Man and Woman, as One Flesh, become perfectly negative and responsive to God, then the Fatherhood of God in relationship to birth or Creative activity on earth, becomes a reality.
In that union the male and female are One Flesh and they constitute the WOMAN in union with God the Father, so that God the Father is the Father of the Child, and the recognition of the Father in the Divine sense is absolutely essential to a realization that we are not far from God, and that in reality we can let it be so.
Mother God Being

The God Beings of each Plane are focalized in the Lord of that Plane. The Seven Lords of the Seven Planes are the Elohim, with the Focal Lords of the Six Lower Planes all focalized in full response in and to the LORD of Lords who is the LORD OUR GOD who manifested in and as Jesus.
The Three Inner Planes are Positive to the Three Outer Planes, and these Six Planes are contained within, and infused with, the Seventh Plane which is the One Plane that blends all the other Planes.
The Three Inner Planes are, for this world, the rightful Expression of Father God, and the Three Outer Planes are the rightful spheres of Mother God Being. All God Beings functioning in the Three Outer Planes, or Worlds, are all contained within Mother God, and are Focalized in the Lord of the Sacred Three, who, as High Priest of the Three Negative Worlds, is fully responsive to, and focalized in, the LORD of Lords, who is the LORD of the Sacred Seven.
The LORD of the Sacred Seven is the Focal Point of Father God in the Whole, Holy World. The Lord of the Sacred Three, as the Focal Point of Mother God, is centered in Negative Response to the LORD of Lords.
Through this Perfect Temple Vision of reality you behold the Truth of Creation, and you know that all of the God Beings who function in the Whole Holy World were drawn together and ordained to their Appointed Places as the first great step in the creative process. It was in this great step in the beginning of the creation of this world that the Christ Kingdom was set up for this world.
The Christ Radiance flows forth from all God Beings eternally, and that Radiance did not begin with the beginning of creation, but the God Beings involved did not come into the specific Harmonization which allows the Lines of Force, or Vibration, by which the world was created, until the time when the creative work was to begin. So it is that the Christ Kingdom for the Whole, Holy World was set up as the first step in the Creative Process, and is therefore the Foundation of the World.
Vibrations of the Creative Lines of Force could not be set up until the Harmonization of God Beings took place, any more than a scattered group of men can begin the activities of business and commerce until they are organized as one group, as in a corporation. The Organization of God Beings took place for the specific work of Creation, and this Harmonization had to precede the setting up of those Vibrations whereby creation took place. This Divine Organization, or Cosmic Harmonization of God Beings, is the Christ Kingdom for this World, and that Christ Kingdom was not set up until the time of that Harmonization insofar as this world is concerned.
You recognize yourself, in Oneness with your Lord, to be a part of that Harmonization of Lords which is the Christ Kingdom, and you begin to know that the Outer Harmonization of the Body Temples in the earth allows the manifestation of the Harmonization of the Lords within those Temples.
As the Body Temples are drawn together and Harmonized in the Fire of the Christ Love, the Lords of those Temples are allowed to render their true service in the earth, and the Christ Kingdom is made manifest.
This shows how it is that the Lines of Force, or Vibration, by which the New World Consciousness is being formed in the womb of the world darkness, can become active in outer manifestation only to the degree of Harmonization that is established in and through the Body Temples that are in manifest expression on earth.
As each sincere and earnest one responds in Love to his or her Lord within, he or she is drawn into the appointed Priestly Office in the Temple, and that Temple is then Harmonized through its Lord with all other Temples who likewise respond, no matter where on earth they may be, and thereby the out-manifestation of the Christ Kingdom is made possible—and that is the Way whereby the New Heaven and the New Earth become a reality in the Whole Holy World, and all the former things of suffering and sorrow and death are caused to pass away, so that they shall be no more, nor come into mind. Rejoice in the Lord that it is so.
The heart is the instrument of the Father, the mind is the instrument of the Mother, and the body is the instrument of the Child, and the fulness of that which is revealed through the body and its capacities is the Spirit of the One Who Dwells. That One is the One who you are in reality. We recognize the application of this principle with respect to the whole—the body of responding ones in humanity are supposed to be formed into One Body of God on earth. Our KING came on earth in the revelation of the Father, the centering of our Father. He revealed the basic essences and purposes of the Father Pattern. The next logical step would be to reveal the Mother Pattern. We must recognize the proper relationship of the Father principle and the Mother principle in God if we are going to have a relatedness to what we should mean when we say God—the One Who Dwells. So the development of the Mother God principle is the important thing in this step. How are you going to have the Child without the Mother? We have to see the Father principle of God and the Mother principle of God in reality, before we can begin to see the Child Principle. Unless the Child principle is manifesting in reality we are not going to have on earth what we ought to have in the creative expression of God on earth through man—man being restored to the point where he can share God's creative work, which is the important thing. But you are not going to have the Child restoration of the pattern work out until you have the Mother restoration of the principle work out. In essence, the restoration of the Father principle has been taken care of, as far as the Master was concerned, and it is there. There is more we have to do about it, that is true, but we must come to the point of letting the Mother principle have meaning, before the Child principle can truly manifest. The Old Testament concept with respect to Jehovah was a distortion, but it was the reality of the Mother principle. What I am speaking of, using the term Jehovah is Mother God, not Father God. We need to realize that the manifestation of the Body of God must be in relationship to Mother God. Father God principle will function in relationship to Mother God principle without being evident in form in an outer sense, because in the Inner and the Outer vibrational factors at work in relationship to the world in the creative processes, we have Father God invisible, Mother God visible. But we have not let Mother God have a Body, so Father God could not do anything about it. Until we let Mother God have a body, Father God, in the invisible cycle, cannot have any real meaning on earth to bring forth the Child, the reality of the creative fulfilment. Once we begin to let the Mother God principle have meaning—the Master revealed the reality of the Father God principle—we begin to be in position where heaven and earth can be One: union between Father God and Mother God in the sense of the Whole World Pattern. And then we begin to have the restoration from the standpoint of the Life factor, or the Child factor, in relationship to individual living or the living in the kingdoms of this world—the mineral kingdom, vegetable kingdom, animal kingdom, etc.

We come to the evening hour of meditation on this 25th day of April 1954 let us begin tonight with a moment of Devotion. Our loving Heavenly Father, as we have received so abundantly of Thy Love, we would learn to Love Thee more fully, more truly, that we may share with Thee the fulfilment of Thy Divine aspirations for the children of Thy Family here on earth, that we may yield to the working of Thy spirit in thought and word and deed, considering ever the measure of Thy Love which we are privileged to exhibit on earth, watching in all things the extent of heavenly beauty which we may reveal through the expression of Thy Truth on earth, and considering the degree to which in our living we are privileged to reveal Thy Glory to the children of men, that we may let the light so shine before those whose lives we touch that they may sense a dedication to Thee, our Father, and a devotion to Thy Business here on earth, that all who will may become acquainted with our Father's Business. We would in all these things remember ever our Family Name, the Name of our Father, that we may honor the Family Name and bring joy to the heart of our Father in Heaven, that Thy Kingdom may come, Thy control may be exerted in the daily affairs of Thy children, and that the form of our affairs in their manifestation may reveal Thy control, Thy dominion, Thy Kingdom, to the end that it may become known upon earth to all the children of men that our Father's Business is the greatest business in the world, the most far-reaching, the most important, the most beneficial, the most profitable business in all the world; that Thy Business, our Father's Business, may be seen as including all peoples and all circumstances, all conditions; for there is nothing on earth which is not Thy Business, either in the revelation of that which is Thy Will in earth or in the correction of those things which ought not to be. We would now let Thy Hallowed Name center the Family Spirit in this world in the places where we live and serve, in all we think and say and do, until we ourselves shall clearly realize and help others to come to know that Thine is indeed the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever. To whatever degree we may realize tonight the reality of God's Love, we know that it is not adequate to the fulfilment of that to which our Father's children are called. The sense of love in the home, as such homes are established by human beings here on earth, generally speaking has a centering in the mother. In a true home it is present in relationship to the father. He gives character, strength and reality to that love, a sense of security, and yet, when we think of love in the home we think of the mother. Soon we shall come to that day that is set apart as Mother's Day. Once again that day is not far-distant.
When we think of God and His love, when we think of our Father, of seeking to love God, to be true children of God, there is subconsciously a sense of something missing, something incomplete, something not fulfilled; for, whether you ever consciously meditated upon the point or not, there is inherent in the longing, in the searching, in the seeking to find fulfilment in relationship to God a feeling that we should somehow come to know Mother God—the Mother aspect of God.
The Father aspect of God has been emphasized over and over again, and that is well; but if in the world we have known the situation that arises in what is called a motherless home, where the father seeks to be father and mother, we may admire, in some instances at least, the spirit, the determination, the desire on the part of the father to make a home, but generally speaking it is not a very successful venture, and unless the father can in such a case find a woman who will be a true mother to his children and make a home, the pattern gives a sense of something incomplete.
There are millions and tens of millions of people upon the face of the earth who seek sincerely and earnestly to serve God the Father, to know His love and to love Him, and in that relationship much has been expressed concerning God's Son. But in the pattern as it has been known in recent centuries there is something that has been conspicuous by its absence: the thought of Mother God or the Mother aspect of God. To some degree, for some in the Christian world, this need has been at least partly met by the concept of the Mother of the Son of God, meaning Mary. But the ideas that have been advanced in this regard, while they have seemed helpful to some, have not, from the standpoint of the basic need in the world, whether consciously or subconsciously recognized, provided for a sense of relatedness to the Mother aspect of Deity. There have in recent times been certain ideas touching on this theme, and some have spoken of Mother God, thinking to fill this need in human hearts, and yet the situation as we find it in the world clearly shows that none of these attempts to find a means of satisfying this longing in the human heart have been adequate. None of them have really solved the problem.
Tonight in meditation let us approach the question that arises from a little different standpoint. First, we have here that which is called the Word of God; the portrayal as it is given does not emphasize the Mother aspect of Deity. The question might arise as to why Father God is emphasized in the portrayal in both the Old and the New Testaments. But this that is absent leaves us with a deep, a poignant longing for that something which would complete the sense of family relationships, the pattern of being which logically should appear. Why?
By reason of that which is expressed, certain things are offered to our consciousness. Could it be that something else is offered to our consciousness by that which is not expressed, in so many words, in the recorded expression of the Word of God? What could be conveyed to us by that which is not expressed? First, it appears to me that if this particular aspect of the Heavenly Family Pattern were sufficiently revealed to modify this longing in our hearts there would of necessity tend, in this fallen state, to develop in man an even greater lethargy, a degree of self-satisfaction unwarranted by the facts. We see the results of the situation as it is in the fact that many millions who think of themselves as being Christians do not think of this world, this earth, as being home.
They say, “We are but pilgrims here.” And they think of going home as meaning going to heaven when they die. They do not think of this world as being home. In fact the idea that this could be home before some great cataclysmic change is virtually foreign to the consciousness of most of those who call themselves Christians. After a thousand years, after everyone is dead, after this and that and the other thing, after God recreates, then yes, but now no. It is postponed to some far-distant future time. The sense of missing the Mother aspect of Being tends to emphasize this idea that our home is not here, and yet our Father indicated that the home for man, mankind, men and women, is on earth.
God created man to be on earth, not to be somewhere else. And God created man, mankind, in His own image, after His likeness, male and female created He them. This would suggest that from God's standpoint the Mother aspect of Deity is not absent but is established; for mankind, created in the image and likeness of God, is clearly established on the basis of male and female, the potential of Father and Mother. And this appears in the image and likeness of God; so there must be, in the Divine Design, not only the Father aspect of Deity but the Mother aspect of Deity. If we see this and accept it as a starting point, we see emphasized this point that not having a consciousness of the Mother aspect of Deity has tended to keep us from becoming more self-satisfied, more lethargic than we have been. It has been something prodding, something unsatisfactory inside. Whether it ever came up to the level of consciousness so that you thought about it or not, there was something, a constant nagging something deep inside, which perhaps you did not identify but which in actual fact has to do with this situation in which we miss so much the Mother aspect of Deity in the Family Pattern under the Fatherhood of God. Now if we were to attempt to fill this place of Mother on a more or less arbitrary basis, as others have done, the net result would be that while the home might seem to be somewhat improved in some respects, we would still have a sense of stepmother instead of Mother. Can we, the children, fill the place? Or must this place be filled by the Father? How can we begin to become aware of Mother? We have given much thought to the process of becoming aware of Father. How shall we become aware of Mother?
Have you not, perhaps in the evening, in the cool of the day, felt an unspeakable restlessness, something missing, and perhaps you said, “I need to develop a closer relationship with Father God.” And that is true. Part of that may very well be a sense of a need for a closer walk with Father God. Very often there comes a time in the teens when the boy or the girl senses a need for a closer relationship with the earthly father. Many times the distortions in the behavior patterns of teenagers appear because this need is sensed but the teenager does not know how to establish a closer relationship with father, and probably on his side, in many instances at least, the earthly father feels just as inadequate and uncertain as to procedure as the teenager does. The father, the earthly father, many times feels the sense of his children growing away from him, a sense that he has not fulfilled his responsibilities as a father as he would like to have done. And so this that is sensed, and yet in human families so often unfulfilled, is something that correlates in the pattern in our relationship to God the Father. But even so, for the young person, coming home in the evening to the house, to the home, to find that mother is not there—perhaps father is, but mother is not there—there will be a peculiar sense of, what? Do you know what I mean? If mother is not there, somehow it just isn't home. Perhaps a place to eat, some food perhaps, after a fashion at least, maybe a can of beans, but a place to get something to eat. Perhaps after a while a place to sleep. But the sense of home is missing, and this same feeling, in a little different pattern, correlates with a certain phase of the emptiness that human beings feel in their experience here on earth.
What of Mother God? Where has She gone? Where is She?
Why do we know so little about Mother God?
We miss Her so.
We feel a sense of needing Her.
Now after human beings have passed the teen age and have gone out to establish homes of their own, so that they become in turn parents, a little different situation arises. Most like to know that mother or grandmother is at home and all right, but there begins to be a sense of having home, assuming that the marriage is successful, that it is not wholly dependent upon one's own mother.
In my own personal experience I know something of these things, because I was a boy of twelve when my earthly mother left this sphere of things, and finally I learned to have a fulness of life, shall we say, where there was not the consciousness of missing her so much. In my case, there was always the conviction in my heart that I would not have called her back if I could have done so, if it would have been necessary for her to live under the conditions she had known. That always modified my attitude, because I would not have wished her to be alive again under the circumstances in which she had lived. But nevertheless, a so-called home without a mother leaves much to be desired, and when we think of Father God and think of ourselves as being children of God, and think of this earth as home, we have a sense that the situation leaves much to be desired, no matter how good our Father is.
We, His children, especially if we are not yet mature, have a very keen sense of missing Mother. What can we learn out of this? What blessing can appear? Surely it is not a question without an answer. Could it be that this very situation can have beneficial results by driving us (for it seems that most of us must be driven) to a pattern of seeking and searching wherein we may come to understand and know? I suppose all of us have some memories of mother that are particularly sweet, but in the consciousness of some human beings, for instance, if the earthly mother left the pattern of life at the birth of the child, there is no memory of mother; perhaps of another mother, but no memory of the mother that gave birth to the babe that became the man or the woman.
The memory of man, mankind, the body of humanity, goes back six or seven thousand years. You know what we call history is simply mankind's memory of his own experience. Mankind has never died. Cells have come into this body of humanity, cells have gone out of it, as cells change in your own physical body day by day, but man, meaning mankind, has never died. Individual cells in the body of mankind have come and gone, but this body of humanity has never died. It came close to it a few times, according to history, but it did not die.
Now there is a fear that perhaps mankind is coming to his end under a rain of atomic or hydrogen bombs. I don't think so. The body of mankind may be hurt by such things, but the body of mankind is not going to die, at least not that way. But my point for the moment is this: Mankind, the body of humanity, has a memory going back just a few years, just a few years, only six or seven thousand years, and from the standpoint of the body of mankind, that is not long. It may seem to be long to the cell which the human being is in that body, but to the body of mankind, six or seven thousand years is just a little while.
To the child, a person seventy or eighty years old seems to be very old. That person can remember back fifty years ago, and the young person tries to imagine that, shakes his head and thinks, “What would it be like to remember back fifty years? That was just the turn of the century—automobiles just beginning to have meaning,” etc., etc. “Fifty years. I can't imagine what that would be like, it is so long.” But to the person who can remember back fifty years, is that so long? Oh no, not so long. Just a little while. And the same principle carries over in relationship to the body of humanity.
Six or seven thousand years?—just a little while. And yet, what is the situation here? Suppose you had lived six or seven years since becoming a victim of amnesia and you simply could not recall anything back beyond six or seven years—all gone, all wiped out. You can remember back six or seven years but nothing back of that. You cannot remember your childhood home, you cannot remember your mother, you cannot remember your father, though somebody has told you a little bit about your father. You never saw him. You can't remember, but you have learned a little bit about your father. But mother, no one seems to know about mother. It is blank. This is the state of the body of mankind for those six or seven years, back in the period of amnesia. Is there six or seven thousand years back to the beginning of history?
And man, mankind, says to himself, “I have been told a little bit about Father. I don't really know Him, I can't really remember Him, but they say He is like this and they say He is like that. Yes, they say He is still living, but I have never seen Him. I would like to visit Father sometime if I could, but they tell me the only way I can do that is to die, and I don't want to die, so I'll wait awhile. I will just go on what they tell me about Father. But Mother? No one seems to know about Mother. My childhood? I don't know. I can't remember.”
And yet there is this sense of something missing: the need to know about Mother, the Mother aspect of God, whatever that would be. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/the-spirit-of-truth-is-spirit-of-mother.html] The ideas that have been projected, they really don't satisfy—little trinkets the children have picked up and tried to make meaningful, make-believe. “This reminds me of my mother.” But what of the real drive here? What of the situation as it relates to ourselves? What can we learn about Mother? Why do we know so little about Her? Is Mother God dead? No, that could not be. Is someone ashamed of Mother? No, not at all. Why do we know so little about Mother? Here is what seems to be a mystery, but there is no true or real mystery in it. Our Gracious LORD, Our Father Who art in Heaven, hallowed is Thy Name. We would learn of Thee. We would be true children of Thine, true to the Spirit of our Family Name. We would let Thy dominion, Thy control, be felt and known on earth; we would let Thy Will be done in earth as it is in Heaven. We would let Thy Home have form on earth, and Thy Power have meaning, and the Wonder of Thy Presence be made manifest on earth. We would not postpone our experience of these things until some future time, or after death, for we are convinced that it is Thy Will that this part of Thy Home should reveal the Spirit of Thy Presence in Thy House, that this Mansion in Thy House may reveal Thy Presence, our Father's Presence. But we would also, when and as it is Thy Will, know our Mother's Presence. But we would not ask Her Presence to appear in conditions as they are. We would first let this Room in Thy House take form, in the assurance that we may then know.
At the present time the world is passing through a period of turmoil. We see various evidences of the choices that human beings are making. We know that the Divine must be considered. We know that in this world outworking it is only as we are coordinated in the expression of the Divine that we can have a part in the ultimate outworking. We know that the workers of iniquity shall be scattered, regardless of race, color, or people, or anything else. It does not take very much spiritual insight to see the handwriting on the wall.
We have turmoil and strife in our country here. The powers of this world think that they are gaining the victory over those who regard conditions in the world in a way that would be of the greatest benefit to the greatest number. Those who have thought to do the right thing have been overbalanced. It looks like a tremendous victory for the workers of iniquity, for those whose only purpose is to satisfy their own lust and greed for increased power and increased wealth. Since this is true, it is especially important that emissaries should remember this text: “Thou, Lord, art most high for evermore. For, lo ... thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.” If we do not have the absolute conviction and certainty within ourselves that that text is true, we could well be discouraged; but we know that the power of God is greater than the powers of evil.
As we look back over the progress of world history and see how history was made, we see how everything has been shaped toward producing the very conditions that exist today. Some, undertaking to analyze these things and seeing how the forces of evil have tended to build up such a state of affairs, feel that the situation is virtually hopeless. Now God did not cause the forces of evil to make the choices that they did, to produce the situations that have been produced, but the thing that the forces of evil fail to recognize is that the fulfilment of all of these things according to human plans is not contrary to the fulfilment of things according to God's Plan. Evil is always playing into the hands of God. Evil, in its designs and at the cost of so many human lives and much human suffering, is building something that it conceives to put the workers of iniquity in absolute control over the world and over all the things that are in it. They have come well nigh doing just that, and since they chose the way of evil, God opened the way and gave them opportunities to accomplish just what they have accomplished. If they had refused to make the wrong choices then of course God's Will could have been accomplished and brought into manifestation without so much human suffering. But God knew man and He understood man's tendencies.
It was because God knew man and his evil tendencies that the prophetic outlines that we find here in the Bible were possible. An understanding of vibrations in relationship to cycles was of course involved, so that it is primarily a mathematical proposition in outworking as to when certain lines of vibration will converge. Because God understood those cycles and vibrations and recognized how, or at what points, those vibrations would converge, and because God understood man, He knew what reactions man would make manifest as He Himself worked out the vibrations of the world according to His own Plan. In other words God did not change His Plan because man failed. In the sense of the immediate necessities in granting man every opportunity, it might be said that God did make certain adjustments in His Plan to meet the situation, but from the standpoint of the long-range cosmic cycles they were left absolutely untouched.
It was ordained clear back in the beginning of things that at this particular point in the outworking of cosmic cycles the earth, in its function in relationship to the solar system, would move into vibrations of a peculiar nature and they would be intensified in a higher expression of the spiral. Insofar as the basic Plan is concerned God did not change it one iota, and He will not do so. God gave man every possible opportunity to return along the way, because God knew that as these cycles progressed conditions would develop which would force the issue with man. God gave man an opportunity to avoid the stress of suffering and turmoil that would be involved in such conditions as we now have, but man refused.
We remember that at one time Jesus was talking about the evildoers, those who refuse to respond, and He called them an evil generation and pointed out that they asked for signs. They asked for signs in a demanding way, saying, “If you will give us signs, then perhaps we can believe.” And what did He say? He said, “But no sign shall be given unto them save the sign of the prophet Jonas.” We do not have time to analyze all the implications of His statement and attitude, but it should be clear to you in basic principle. That which He was mentioning in relationship to the sign of the prophet Jonah was actually much more than human beings think of it as being.
At the time Jonah lived the world was in the first of the Grand Solar cycles. We remember that those cycles are Water, Air, Earth and Fire, so the first Grand Cycle that was in existence at the time was Water. But the closing of the cycle, which extended for a little over two thousand years, and which had the most direct vibrational contact with man, was Fire. Also the twelfth, which would be the completion of the succession of Water, Air, Earth and Fire in the 25,000-year periods, would naturally be of a Fire vibration. In other words at that point the trinity of cycles was Water in its Grand 310,400-year period, Fire in its 25,800-year period, and Fire in its 2,150-year period. This means that the Fire vibration was dominant.
We look back at the period preceding the life manifestation of Jonah and we see that, insofar as the present outline of history is concerned, its detailed expression begins approximately with Abraham. At that time there was sacrifice by Fire, and Abraham had the trial as to his only-begotten son. All the way through the history of the Children of Israel up to the time of the manifestation of Jesus Christ there is emphasized in many different ways the principle involved in the vibration of Fire and sacrifice by Fire. We see how the whole structure of God's revelation to man during that period was on a Fire vibration. It could not have been in any other way. Jonah was sent to warn Nineveh of the impending destruction by fire, but he felt that it was a terrible thing to go in and tell these people that if they did not repent they were going to be destroyed by fire. His human sympathies were too much at work. He had not yet entered into the firmness of function in Divine Love, and the absolute, inflexible course of the Cosmic Plan. Consequently he undertook to run away, and when he was on the ship a great storm came, and in order to save the ship he was thrown overboard. And God had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights before he was spewed up on dry land; that is, into the air.
Now we recognize that the Master was in the tomb for three days and three nights, and that that revealed the necessity of transformation in the three phases of man, that the three phases of man be resurrected into the things of God. Now some have supposed that Jonah's three days and nights in the belly of the great fish were merely a prophecy of the fact that Jesus was to be in the tomb for three days and three nights, and the real significance they miss entirely. The three days and three nights represent the necessity of resurrection of the three phases of man into a state which conforms with the Divine. When the period that was dominated by Fire came to a close, it was around the year 400 B.C. Prior to the time that Jesus came into the world there naturally had been a change to a Water vibration in the two cycles, and an Air vibration in the third or uppermost Grand Cycle; in other words in relationship to the 310,400-year period, which began about 400 B.C., we had a dominant, overall vibration of Air. And that vibration will continue for over 300,000 years from this moment, because the period is roughly 310,400 years, but insofar as the 25,800-year and the 2,150-year periods are concerned, both were the beginning of the cycle, which meant that both were a Water vibration. That meant that the people of God, represented by Jonah, were to move out of the Fire vibration, which was emphasized by the threatened destruction of Nineveh by fire in relationship to the unreal state of the world, into a Water vibration. And the great fish prepared for Jonah was simply the Biblical sign, or symbol, a way of saying that the Water Age would begin in the next cycle, and that the children of God would move into the belly of that Water Age.
Now the Water Age, insofar as the 25,800-year cycle is concerned, will continue for about 23,000 years yet, but insofar as the directly involved cycle is concerned, the 2,150-year period would come to an end at about 1760 A.D., and immediately following that there would be an Air vibration. God was telling man that he would have roughly a 2,150-year period under the Water vibration, in which he would have the opportunity of experiencing the resurrection of body and mind and spirit into conformity with things Divine; but after the close of that cycle, or period of time, man would be spewed up out of the belly of the fish—they would be moving out of a period of comparative darkness under the Water vibration onto dry land; that is, into the Air. Man was being told that the Air Age would begin, and it did begin with the Air Age at about 1760. Present outworkings insofar as world events are concerned provide proof of that fact. 1900 marks the end of the overlapping period, because the vibrations of the Age that exists and the one that succeeds overlap each other for a period of about 300 years. That means that an outgoing Age dominates the first 150 years of the incoming Age. The incoming Age is increasingly dominant, but the first 150 years of the incoming Age are dominated by the outgoing Age. That point of division comes roughly at the year 1900. In other words at 1900—back forty-six years from the point of time where we now live [124 years ago today]—God's people were spewed out of the belly of the great fish into the Air Age, and since that time we have had the development of the things that take cognizance of that Air vibration which became dominant at that point.
The Master said that the sign of Jonah was given to the people of the world, and He indicated that it was sufficient, and they did not need any other sign. What I have been dealing with was what the Master had in mind when He spoke of the sign of the prophet Jonah. It all worked out exactly as God said it would, and the children of God were spewed out of the belly of the fish into the open Air at what we call 1900. They had been in the belly of the fish for a period of time beginning about 400 B.C. They were in the process of being spewed out for 300 years prior to 1900, roughly speaking. To the degree that we have grasped the fundamental significance of all of this, our minds recognize the fact that Jesus Himself emphasized that He was living in a Water Age, in contrast to the Fire Age which had been. He called fishermen as His disciples. He performed many of His miracles in relationship to water, the first being the changing of water to wine, so that man might know how to change the abstract water of truth into the living wine of life. He performed the miracle of walking upon the water, and He stilled the storm, saying, “Peace, be still.”
At the beginning of His Ministry there was emphasis placed upon baptism by water. You find no record whatsoever of Jesus Himself baptizing anyone with water. John the Baptist was the one who baptized with water and the later disciples carried through on that; but in sending His disciples out Jesus did not instruct them to baptize with water. He instructed that they baptize with the Holy Spirit. He Himself was working from a Cosmic vibration. John the Baptist was the harbinger of Light, through whom the emphasis was placed on baptism insofar as ceremonial function was concerned in relationship to the Water Age, and the later disciples, in their activities after Jesus ascended, used baptism with water and emphasized it; but Jesus Himself did not. Jesus recognized that that Water Age would pass, and that when it had passed, as it was revealed to man through the sign of the prophet Jonah, man would be spewed out into an Air Age, where the primary necessities would be coordination with the Spirit, and a period would come when it would be very needful that man should be baptized of the Holy Ghost. We live in that time. We see that the sign of the prophet Jonah carries up to the time where we now are, but that is not all of the sign. Let us look at the rest of it. Jonah went back to Nineveh and proclaimed the Word of the Lord. That means that a great revelation of the Word of the Lord would come after the close of the Water Age in which Jesus should manifest, in the early part of the Air Age that should follow, and that is the time in which we live. And it meant that those who responded to the call to repent, as the people of Nineveh did, would be spared destruction by Fire. Nevertheless, as it is stated here in Peter: “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment.” Perhaps we should look on the word and consider it in relationship to the atomic bomb or atomic fire. “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” It does not say that the godly men should be burned, and it is not something to be feared by godly men. In the 10th verse it says: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
We represent the people of the world as they move into this new Air Age.
They have the opportunity of repenting and accepting the greater revelation of the Word of God, as the prophet Jonah foretold would be made manifest early in this Age. We know that that prophecy has been fulfilled. The Word of God has been made known to the children of God; not to all the people of the world as yet, but it is expanding in that direction. Those that repent will not be destroyed by Fire because they will be transformed by Fire and made whole. The Fire burns away the unreal. Those who are identified with the unreal will be destroyed. Those who are identified with God will find that the Fire simply burns away the bonds, as it did with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who were cast into the burning fiery furnace which was heated seven times hotter that it was wont to be heated. It destroyed the ungodly, but for the faithful ones it simply burned away their bonds, so that they walked with another, like unto the Son of God. This Fire sets us free, so that we may walk with the Father within individually—one like unto the Son of God. Therefore we see that the sign of the prophet Jonah was completely sufficient for man and that no man was left without sufficient signs if he would but open his eyes, that he might live in an understanding of the period of the cosmic cycles in which we live and serve God and man.
We should have a deeper understanding of that which is taking place. These things that have developed through man's misuse of the opportunities which God granted are actually what God anticipated that man would bring forth. It is not something that in any sense hinders or prevents the outworking of God's Plan, but rather, the workers of iniquity play into the hand of God and permit the ultimate outworking and fulfilment of that which is according to the promise, by reason of which the New Earth and the New Heaven are assured. So let us remember that these world turmoils which are now, and which shall increase, are not signs of failure on the part of God, nor are they an indication that we ourselves shall fail in that to which we are called, but rather, when we see these things we should rejoice and we should realize that God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. We should remember the words of the 92nd Psalm: “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.”
At the present time we have in the Grand Cycle of 310,400 years, Air; in the 25,800-year cycle, Water; and in the 2,160-year cycle, Air. However, we must also remember that the overlap period of the 25,000-year Fire Age that closed 400 B.C. is still with us. Therefore, there is a projection of the Solar Fire Age into this present Air Age. The activity of the Fire in the Air is that of cleansing. We do not have to have a Fire Cycle in order to have the fulfilment of the cleansing by the Fire of God—Love. We should always remember what vibrations we are working under. Anytime you do anything that is not blended with those vibrations it is not going to work. The Air vibration is the dominant one, and remember to be attuned to the Spirit. From the standpoint of planning, or from the standpoint of long-range vision, or in relationship to the Plan, we have to consider how those vibrations are working through the Air-Water-Air vibration, or it will not be a clear picture. Regardless of what we feel, we do the right thing. “Think not that I am come to bring peace, but the sword.
This point could be emphasized again: “This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets.” That includes Jonah, and is emphasized by the fact that the sign of the prophet Jonah was the only one that would be given to the world. “And of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” We know that it is the sign of the coming of the Christ Kingdom for all the people who survive the changes that are at hand—the ushering in of the New Earth state, where heaven and earth are one, as emphasized by the sign. The sign of the prophet Jonah is given to all people of the world, but how many will be able to see that sign in the sense of accepting it and recognizing its importance? Let us not imagine for a moment that because we have dealt with it tonight that it will mean anything more to the people of the world as a whole. If you had a means to broadcast that expression, as it was given tonight, over the radio every week for six months on a national hookup, there would be precious few that would pay any attention to it.
This again emphasizes the importance of our radiation work.
Let us remember that it is not necessary—in fact it would be undesirable—to have people who are just beginning to sprout spiritually come immediately into the Third Sacred School consciously. Let us remember that those individuals who have the real stuff in them—and if we carry through properly here—will be drawn step by step to the point where they can contact us. If we start thinking about it in the sense of running out and telling them, we will wreck it. All those individuals will have to grow and develop out of that darkness and move along the ways that will open, and as long as they respond they will be drawn by those irresistible cords of love.
And we must remember to remember that we mean what we say. It is true that we will want to open up new channels. They will run into various things that will give them an avenue of approach. That means, then, that we have a great responsibility in understanding these things, working on the vibration and letting the radiation flow out. That is what we are doing here, and that is opening the way for those individuals. It will touch all those who are sprouting spiritually. They have to sprout under the conditions where they live or they will not be reached. We cannot smooth the path before them. We have to remember that it is working according to these plans, programs and principles and do our part and let it work out. If they cannot follow through to the point where they contact the service, they wouldn't be any good anyway. So until they come through to it—we will open it up for them—it is no good. We must realize that personal sympathy will not work. They have to prove the stuff that is in them, and if they have it in them they are going to come through. It is going to be easier all the time. Now, this is a good subject and a good point that we can radiate through.
As the world response is being speeded up we have gradually got to a point where we can intensify the strength of the radiation. Then as those out there permit an increased radiation to be effective, we find it developed here. The individuals here have let themselves be attuned to that. We are coming to a point where it must intensify. But it is reaching those individuals who are responding, and consequently we are pulling just as hard as their response will permit. If we could arbitrarily start speeding things up, that would snap the vibrations. If you were trying to pull in a fish and it started to fight, what would happen? You would break the line. These lines of vibration will stand only so much pressure. Sometimes I have to let it relax and stop the pulling pressure. There is a pulsating effect in the whole thing, and as individuals respond they are drawn. So these who are here are the ones who followed through on vibrations that were set up and were given the opportunity of service here. As individuals work on the vibration, it will work, just as surely as it has before.
