To Know

To  Know

Martin Cecil  March 8, 1981  a.m.

I stand at the center

and the light shines all around me

and now I know that my spirit glowing makes this light.

I come into power with the sun for I am the sun.

I am my own light.

Here at the center I see the meaning of things, all things.

And now I know that I am the meaning. The whole meaning.

The four directions come together in me.

I am the center

and everything flows from me, returns to me.

I am that which they call Great Mystery.

I am that which each one calls Wakantanka before coming here,

before seeing the light.

I am here and so I know.

Here I know everything. Here I know myself.

I am thought and will. And nothing sits above my will.

I am pride and joy. And nothing sits above my joy.

I own my life. And only mine.

And so I shall appreciate my person.

And so I shall make proper use of myself.

I stand here in the light of my own presence and I recognize my power.

I am reason. And nothing sits above my choice.

I am truth. And so I live in the spirit.

And so I live forever.

I am the oneness of the whole.

And whatever happens, happens in me.

I am Ahbleza. I own the earth.

This particular quotation is taken from a book called Hanta Yo, by Ruth Beebe Hill. In this book she speaks of certain of the American Indians, their life, their understanding, their traditions, their history. It has been a rather controversial book, some of the Indians in this modern era objecting to her interpretations. But this particular quotation certainly finds a point of agreement with us and in our own experience. I might read it again. (Martin reread the piece.) I do not know that these words would necessarily be classified as coming from scripture, but they certainly convey the truth, the truth long forgotten, long unknown to human beings.

Nowadays it is interesting that because of the seeming energy shortage consideration is being given to solar energy—not all that much as yet but no doubt that interest will increase. There is a certain recognition of the immense apparent quantity of energy that is brought to the earth from the sun in each moment. I don’t know what the figures are but probably the energy received on this North American continent in a day would supply all human needs for a hundred years. Here is an awareness of an apparent source of energy separate from the earth, separate from human beings. All those things which may be observed, such as in this instance the sun, are symbols which may acquaint human beings with themselves. Because so much weight is given to externals the symbols have loomed as though they were something in and of themselves, rather than a beautiful evidence of a reality which partakes of the state of oneness.

In the words which I read, there was a consciousness of the fact, as it was put, “I am the sun.” The sun is looked upon as an immense source of energy, but it is simply a symbol of a source of energy of so much greater extent than is revealed by the sun. What the sun reveals springs from a source. Human beings try to explain it in terms of atomic fusion, but the source which is the sun is the same source which we are. As I say, because human beings place the greatest weight in what seems to them to be external to themselves, the sun is looked upon as the source; but the sun is merely the evidence of the source, just as human beings are, just as the earth itself is.

Because of the apparent shortage of energy, or expectation of such shortage, human beings are concerned to extract energy from somewhere else. The sun is an obvious source. It takes a little while for human consciousness to adjust to the possibility of making use of what derives from that source, but, clearly, there is an immense supply of energy apparently, from the human standpoint absolutely inexhaustible. I noticed that somebody, in commenting on the rather laggard approach to the right use of solar energy, expressed the thought that nobody can make any money out of it. Of course that is not exactly true because people must build complicated machinery in order to extract the energy, and therefore there is an economic factor involved, but the source itself cannot be sold. Nobody can get a corner on the sun.

However if we are aware that what powers the sun powers us, then why go to the sun? Of course the reason for going to the sun to get energy, or to get it out of the earth in some form or other, is so as to sustain the world which human beings have created on earth. This is considered to be an all-important project because it is inconceivable that human beings could exist without the world which they have created on earth. The popular phrase is that one might freeze in the dark. The whole exercise is based in the endeavor to save the human world. We have another viewpoint, perhaps still largely theoretical: This human world does not need to be saved. People everywhere apparently become convinced that without this human world they themselves couldn’t exist, but human beings did exist for a long time before this particular quality of human world put in an appearance. Possibly it may be true that people have become soft and have lost a great deal of the pioneering spirit and the initiative in living, so that their survival might be in question if the world as we know it didn’t continue to exist; nevertheless it might be said that the human population has been sold a bill of goods. The world that human beings have made, rightly must pass away. Ultimately no endeavors, even the most frantic, will be able to sustain it. We are well aware of the cracks in that world, extending in all directions, and the disintegration which is occurring.

If there is a relinquishing of the idea that it is important, even a matter of life and death, to save the human world, then we will have space in consciousness to consider something else. It would appear that all human beings are pretty well hypnotized, brainwashed, into the view that they must contribute all their energy to sustaining themselves and this human world in which they exist, so there is no time or inclination to look at anything else much. However it is also true that in these days there are those who are awakening, as it has been put, to the futility of the undertaking, the attempt to maintain the human world. While still much of the thought in those who so awaken is that really some aspects of this world must be maintained—the better ones presumably, whatever they are—nevertheless it is a movement occurring in human consciousness which in a sense is quite commendable because it does provide space to see something else. If the population of the world can be thoroughly convinced of the absolute necessity of pouring themselves into the sustaining of this human world, then they are ripe for all kinds of manipulation.

To turn in a little different direction, we have recently reemphasized in our own consciousness the spacefulness of the human flesh body. It’s virtually all space, and very largely it has seemed to be empty space. Space is looked upon as being empty. Perhaps in these days there is more of a recognition of electromagnetic phenomena present in the larger space around us. If it is there, presumably it is in us too. But we have an awareness, perhaps largely theoretical still, of the absolute solid of the substance of love, out of which all other substance derives, and what derives out of the substance of love is not something else than love. So, present within our own flesh bodies is this absolute solid. It fills all the space. In that sense then there isn't any space. However from the standpoint of the consciousness of human beings it has seemed that there has been a lot of space—maybe not looking at it merely from the standpoint of what is present in an atom, for instance, or a molecule, almost all space apparently, but from the standpoint of what human beings experience. Nowadays they talk about being “spaced out.”

There is an immense emptiness in human experience. There are apparently so many needs, which for the most part are human wants rather than needs, but indicative of a lack, of a state of emptiness, a condition where space prevails. The very desire for the acquisition of knowledge, for instance, is indication of a sense of lack, a sense of inadequacy, a realization of empty space. So the approach is: Let’s fill it up; let’s fill this empty space up with knowledge. If not with knowledge then with “good times,” as they are sometimes called. So all of human experience tends to be governed by this apparent absence, so that one must rush here, rush there, trying to fill up the space with knowledge, with wealth, with whatever can be thought of; some go in one direction and some another but they are all trying to fill up this seemingly empty space.

But we realize it isn’t empty space at all; it is the absolute solid of love, of which human beings have been unaware. They do not know the substance which is present in what they think of as space. It’s been blotted from their understanding, from their experience—not entirely; there are little bits and pieces of love come through sometimes, and this is translated in different ways. But the reality is unknown. We have seen this relative to ourselves and the fact that we have lived in a fanciful world, which only exists in our own consciousness. If from the human standpoint it seems that there is so much space, that’s a lie; it isn’t so. The very fact that there has seemed to be so much space has been the motivating element in frantic human activity; they are going to fill it up somehow. It never gets filled on that basis. It couldn’t be because it’s already filled.

So there is a state of illusion here where it is imagined that something is so which isn’t so, and every generation that has come along has more or less taken the same attitude, having the experience of this emptiness. “Let’s fill it up”—and human beings are inventive. After all, part of the human nature is of creativeness, so they think up ways of filling up this space, nonexistent space, living in a world of illusion. They fill it up, as I say, with their pleasures, the things which they desire of various sorts, maybe alcohol or drugs or money or power, as they think of it, knowledge. Oh, there is immense variety offered for this, and most human beings are so dumb they fall for it. I suppose this can be understood with respect to young people growing up, because they haven’t yet plumbed the depths of futility; but all this endeavor to fill up what seems to be empty space is a waste of time. It is complete self-delusion. The space is already occupied by the absolute solid of love substance.

What is necessary is, of course, that there should be what has been described as an awakening to the truth of the matter, so that one stops indulging in self-delusion. But who is going to awaken? The experience of human beings everywhere is of a self, and it is assumed that this self which is the experience must somehow awaken to a different state of affairs but it’s still the same self but an awakened one now. That is not true either. In this passage that I read from the book Hanta Yo the state of separateness, which is the human experience, passes away: “I am that which they call great mystery. I am that which each one calls Wakantanka before coming here,” before coming to center, before having the experience of the truth. In other words the truth is seen as being separate from the person, and the person is going toward the truth so that he can fill himself up with the truth. This is another area in which human beings are very active these days: they are going to fill themselves up with the truth, they suppose. But it is already there. There is no need to fill anything up.

So this idea, anyway, is present in human consciousness, that they should move toward the truth, or that the truth should be allowed to move toward them. This is translated in various ways, using various terms: the idea of getting to heaven somehow. Whether heaven is in the hereafter or whether heaven is supposed to be here, it’s the same thing; let’s get there! Well where are you going? So another attitude is taken, “Well it seems we can’t get there, so we’ll let it come here.” That’s a nice idea and it may be a useful way of approach for a while, but somewhere along the way we come to the understanding that it’s here already. It doesn’t need to come.

So there is certainly something to happen. Because it hasn’t happened in human experience no one knows how to explain it. That’s right, isn't it? People have all sorts of theories about it, but the theories are only necessary because there hasn’t been the experience; and because human beings are empty they swallow theories thick and fast, imagining that their appetite will be thereby assuaged. But you add nothing to nothing and you still have nothing; you still have the space, the awareness of the space, the awareness of the space which is consequent upon what has been described as a veil of the impure human heart. This excludes an awareness of the substance of love, the one substance of which all other substance of which human beings may be aware in some measure are aspects. But you take a little piece of something and it doesn’t tell you what the whole is, as witness the gentlemen who examined the elephant. The elephant isn’t all trunk, it isn’t all feet, it isn’t you all tail, it isn't all skin. Get it together and there’s the elephant. There is a state of wholeness consequent upon the fact of this one substance. So we have the opportunity, as it was put in this passage I read, of coming again to center. But then what’s that, because we never left it? How could we come again to it? It is simply a sufficient yielding of human minds and hearts so that what is so can be seen to be so—first of all seen to be so and then known to be so. There is a distinction here between seeing and knowing.

One can use metaphors of various sorts to open the heart and the mind of human beings. I suppose one of them is the mirage in the desert. If you are in the desert and you see a mirage but you don’t know that it is a mirage you may be convinced that just over there is the oasis with abundant water. I think that describes the attitude of human beings: “Just over there somewhere is the oasis with the abundance of everything.” But what has been looked at has been a mirage. A mirage of the oasis couldn’t exist if there was not a factual oasis, but if one mistakes the mirage for the oasis itself one is likely to perish in the desert. So it is that the world which human beings inhabit is a mirage world. It couldn’t be said not to exist, [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-uranda-may31-1953-class-0-0-1-26.html] any more than a mirage could be said not to exist. It’s there all right but it isn’t the real thing. But there wouldn’t be any world at all if it were not for the fact of the real thing. Perhaps this is a way of conveying an idea to the reluctant human mind and heart, that this present world which seems to be so real and from which it is imagined one can extract all that is necessary for one’s own life and enjoyment, is in fact a mirage, as people find out sooner or later. They endeavor to extract what they may, but it never satisfies. One may fool oneself momentarily but in the long run it never satisfies and a person discovers that he is more empty than he was before, just like the one who is wandering in the desert. He is getting thirstier and thirstier, amongst other things, tireder and tireder, trying to extract something from a mirage. But it isn’t in the mirage, even though the mirage can give evidence, if the individual will awaken to it, of a factual oasis.

So there has been this dream state, a state of a hypnotic trance, shall we say, where human beings have been open to suggestibility of all kinds and they believe all sorts of things that are absolutely not true, and each succeeding generation is educated into these beliefs. Being wide open in youth it’s not difficult for them to get filled up with these beliefs. We have all had that experience. I suppose in a sense one may say it is more difficult to get rid of them because they are reinforced by ages of human experience, repeated and repeated and repeated generation after generation after generation, and it is pretty thick apparently—it’s a real good mirage now. In this state there is a self, the experience of a self, which may be described I suppose as a mirage self, like unto what it believes in. And being a mirage person, of course, sooner or later the conditions are such that the mirage cannot exist anymore and it’s gone. We call that death. But the reality was still there. The truth is true and all is well.

It is in the dissolution of the veil, so that what is so may be the actual experience, that salvation is found. It’s not a matter of going anywhere, it’s not a matter of anything coming from anywhere, because everything is right here in fact. It requires a pure heart to know the truth. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” They shall see the character of God, which is love, and they shall see the quality of love, the character of love itself, which includes truth. As the heart is purified, this seeing arises. This was spoken of by Jesus apparently as the Kingdom of God, or the Kingdom of Heaven. He made the statement that a man must be born again if he is to see the Kingdom. Well the rebirth is simply the process of purification in the heart. As the heart is purified a little, then you can see things. For instance we are looking at something now and we can see it, if we have pure hearts—we can’t see it if we don’t—or at least adequately pure. What we see will be conditioned by the remaining impurities of the heart, but we can see something. On the other hand a man must be born of water and of the spirit if he is to enter into the Kingdom of God, if he is to know it, if he is to know the truth rather than just see it, if he is to be in position as himself or herself. In that position there is a knowing of what always was. What wasn’t, therefore, has simply vanished. There is no more human self in that sense then. There is no longer a deluded person on hand, subject to illusions of all sorts—which is the common lot of human experience.

Of those who are gathered here this morning, how many would be inclined to say that they know the truth, I wonder. I should be very careful about that. There may be quite a few who claim to see it but there is a vast difference when the human consciousness simply sees something as a possibility but does not know it. We may utilize the mirage again, if we want. The mirage is a reflection of the oasis; therefore you can see the oasis in this way and you may understand that it’s a mirage. You know about it. You see the palm trees, you see the water there, you see lush vegetation, and it’s lovely—but you ain’t there! The world in which you dwell is probably not quite of that nature; it’s more of the nature of the desert still; nevertheless you can see the reflection. “Well,” you can say, “I’ll know that oasis when I get there. I’ll know what it looks like because I have already seen it.” But it only becomes a useful place when you are actually there; so, seeing is obviously insufficient. As I say, there has been quite a bit of seeing in the Emissary ministry but a rather more restricted knowing, and yet it is the knowing alone that may be called salvation. One may thank God that there is water in the oasis, but if you are not in the oasis you can't drink it. So here is a totally different situation. Maybe seeing is necessary to subsequent knowing but let us never be fooled that seeing is knowing.

“I stand at the center

and the light shines all around me

and now I know that my spirit glowing makes this light.

I come into power with the sun for I am the sun.

I am my own light.”

Do you know that? Well you see it perhaps, because the same source which powers the sun powers us. But who are we? Are we the power or the powered? If we are the powered we will find ourselves, somewhere along the way, running out of energy. If we are the power, that energy is always present. That light outpouring is always there, and where the light is we can see and we are thereby given the opportunity to know, to live in an awareness that all of our space is composed of the absolute solid of love substance. And this is all that is necessary, because out of this substance come all the differentiations; and when that is where we are, where we dwell, then because we are present those differentiations put in an appearance. But if you stand over there somewhere with a sense of separation, then perhaps someone will feed you with a morsel now and again, but you will run out of steam for sure.

“I am the oneness of the whole.

And whatever happens happens in me.”

This is so when I am.

The Earth Is The Lord's

The  Earth  Is  The  Lord's

YouTube Video

Anthony Palombo

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,

The world and they that dwell therein

I come in the midst of Heaven to bless the fullness thereof.

I stand in midst of the Earth and welcome the fullness thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the Fullness thereof.

Behold, I come in the sea and put my hand on the tides thereof.

And, lo, I come in the wind and put my hand on the currents thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the rhythms thereof.

Behold I come in the Earth and put my hand on the Seasons thereof.

And, lo, I come in the Sun and put my hand on the Fire thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the Seasons thereof.

I come in the towering mountains, I come in the rolling hills,

I come in the blue-green forests, I come in the sweet daffodil.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the beauty thereof.

I mount the sky on wings of eagles,

I run on hooves through the boundless plains.

I plunge the deep in whales of the ocean

I nourish my own in the fields of grain.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the kingdoms thereof.

Who will stand with me in the midst of the fullness thereof?

And put a hand of care on the boundaries of the fullness thereof?

The Earth is the Lord’s and the boundaries thereof.

Behold, I’ll come to thee and put my fire in the heart thereof

And, lo, I’ll come through thee and give my love to the fullness thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the Power thereof.

Behold, I’ll come to thee and put my thoughts on the wheel thereof.

And, lo, I’ll come through thee and shed my Light on the fullness thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the Wisdom thereof.

And, yes! I’ll come to thee and put my breath in the flesh thereof.

And, yes! I’ll come through thee and share my Life with the fullness thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.

Who will stand with me and welcome the fullness thereof

And who will dwell with me in the heaven of the fullness thereof?

The Earth is the Lord’s and the heaven thereof.

Come and share with me in blessing with the Spirit of Love

The world and they that dwell in the Earth, and the fullness thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the People thereof.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof

The world and they that dwell therein.

The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.

Jim  Wellemeyer

February 15, 1953

At the beginning of the Service titled Cone Response, and prior to Uranda's spoken words,

With power and tenderness, Jim Wellemeyer sang this hymn titled The Lost Chord,

with Lillian at the piano, in the Chapel on Sunrise Ranch

The Lost Chord  by  Arthur Sullivan

Seated one day at the organ,
I was weary and ill at ease,
And my fingers wandered idly
Over the noisy keys.
I know not what I was playing,
Or what I was dreaming then;
But I struck one chord of music,
Like the sound of a great Amen.
It flooded the crimson twilight,
Like the close of an angel's psalm,
And it lay on my fevered spirit
With a touch of infinite calm.
It quieted pain and sorrow,
Like love overcoming strife;
It seemed the harmonious echo
From our discordant life.
It linked all perplexèd meanings
Into one perfect peace,
And trembled away into silence
As if it were loth to cease.
I have sought, but I seek it vainly,
That one lost chord divine,
Which came from the soul of the organ,
And entered into mine.
It may be that life's bright angel
Will speak in that chord again,
It may be that only in Heav'n
I shall hear that grand Amen.

Acknowledging The Presence Of God

Uranda  August 30, 1953

For our morning devotion, we have what I think is a treat. My wife is going to sing for us — Kathy Meeker sang the hymn: "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him who brings good tidings."

YouTube  Audio

Let us continue our meditations with a moment of devotion: Our Gracious LORD and Holy KING, we would give thanks to Thee for this beautiful morning, for the refreshing of the gentle breeze, for the privilege of resting in the Spirit of Thy Presence and acknowledging Thy Holy Name. And being gathered together with one accord, in one place, we would so yield to the working of Thy Will on earth, that the action of Thy Will may appear through us, even as Thy Will is done in Heaven, to the end that we may share in the coming of Thy Kingdom; for we know that the Kingdom invisible is being made visible, and that it is Thine; and we know that the power by which Thy Kingdom is made manifest is Thine; and we realize that the glory which appears with the manifestation of Thy Kingdom on earth is Thine. With grateful hearts we rest before Thy Throne, that we may know Thy Will and let it be done, that we may come into attunement with Thy Spirit and abide in the Secret Place of the Most High, that we may dwell under the evidence of Thy almighty Presence, now and forever. And we would thank Thee in this hour for the response of all Thy children everywhere, of every race and color and creed, that not one with yearning hearts may be overlooked, that not one who turns to Thee, whosoever, wheresoever he may be, may fail to receive the refreshing of Thy Spirit; but that each and all who yield in this hour and in the hours to come may be assured, from the depths of Thy eternal being, that all things do work together to perfection for all who truly love and serve Thee, so let it be Oh, LORD and King, so let it be, now and always. Aum-en.

Essences

Essences

Alan Hammond   October 14, 1987  World Service Class

I thought I would begin by reading a few verses from Revelation, Chapter Eight:

“And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

“And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

“And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense,

that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

“And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

“And the angel took the censer, and filled it with the fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth:

and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

“And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.”

There is a rather dramatic, symbolic description of something apparently going on in heaven. Prior to those verses there is a description of seven seals being opened. This no doubt correlates with the Seven Spirits that are focused in every human being, and the opening of different levels of consciousness so that finally there is full consciousness in heaven, where angelic action is then initiated.

When people contact us they are invited to share in a process of awakening the outer consciousness to union with the Angelic consciousness. You could put it this way: where seal after seal is opened, level after level of substance is generated as the focus of Identity is known in each succeeding level. We have that experience as one of ascension. [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2018/10/getting-above-it-all-ascension-john.html] Our consciousness is raised. The first level relates to the physical level, and that is where babies and young people are identified. I won’t go through the progression of the seals, but suffice it to say that the opening of each seal does relate to the ascending focus of consciousness of Self as levels of substance are generated.

Is it not so that we and others have aspired to experience heaven? We’ve had our problems, troubles, frustrations, anxieties and resentments, and have thought, “Oh, to be free! Oh, to ascend into heaven and be an Angel there—that would be lovely!” And even after people have substantial spiritual education, there is still the aspiration in many to get into heaven. There is the matter of opening the seals, of letting Identity ascend as finer substance is generated. And there does come a point where there is adequate fine substance generated because of the quality of our living, moment by moment.

When the seals are opened adequately, so that we find ourselves living in heaven, an Identity is known in an eternal quality of Being, and we express ourselves as best as possible through whatever substance is available in our human forms.

There’s silence for half an hour. We become aware of the power of stillness. This is not just a cliché but awareness that external activity is not really what is required to achieve what we are here to achieve. In fact the whole process changes. Instead of the Identity trying to get into heaven, we find that we are an Angel seeking to get into the earth. That’s the real creative challenge before us. God has been excluded from the earth (I won’t say has been trying to come into the earth), and that is our creative challenge. The Angels in heaven experiencing the fulfillment and delight of Being, no matter what is going on in the external levels of substance, address the challenge of coming into the earth.

This is symbolized in the passage I read about the sounding of trumpets. Each Angel is responsible to sound his or her trumpet in the earth or, as it is alternatively phrased, to let the incense of their Being be released in the earth. Incense always relates to essence. The Angelic Presence, when released out of the heaven, has effects in the earth, not by sweat of the brow, organizations or organizing. A little bit of all that may be done in the very peripheral reaches of our Being. But the vast majority of Angelic function is experienced in the heavenly levels of Being, not the external ones.

Every Angel is a focus of Divine Being, the Spirit of God, and has the full range of Spirit with dominant and subdominant factors—differentiations of the One Spirit. Each of us is a hologram in the spiritual sense. This is significant because when people contact us, you often hear the moan go up at some point or another, “I’ve been moving in this program and gave up certain talents, a certain career. There are certain essences of my Being that I know are dominant.” In the early stages of our program one is somehow encouraged to forget that talent as the pathway to fulfillment and wash dishes, weed gardens, clean toilets, etc. Invariably in the human consciousness there is a certain amount of rebellion, resistance and argument about that, because, “What about my particular essences? Unless I have the chance in life to develop these dominant essences of my Being, I will not be fulfilled. How can I get into heaven unless I fulfill these essences?” Before I talk seriously about this, often people who say that are deluded about their level of talent and were never going to do anything much anyway in that particular field.

Speaking for myself, and I suspect for you too, I’m aware of many essences of my Being that I know will never be fulfilled. I’m very musical and like listening to music. I suspect I could have been a wonderful pianist if I’d had the musical education, parents that pushed me into it perhaps to start with, and the time and the money to do it. The essences are here in me. But that didn’t work out. I could have been an artist, I think. I feel artistic essences. That didn’t work out either. I could rehearse a long list of careers and areas of self-expression that I would have loved to do, where I feel the spiritual essences are present.

From the Angelic point of view (and very often our external capacities come along semi-consciously to go along with this), what is required is an outer capacity, because the outer capacity of the human form is very flexible. It could have done all these things—from businessman, to musician, to politician, to gardener—I love doing all those things in essence, and you would say the same in some way. This facility, the outer form, is very facile, very flexible, and could accommodate many of those essences. But from the Angelic standpoint, what is required in the overall creative process where I am?

If we can let our outer consciousnesses yield to what the creative process, the Whole, brings to us to be done, and release the essences of our Angelic nature into what actually comes, interesting things begin to happen. For one thing, we are able to lead a far more varied and balanced life than most other people. Angels do that. Angels, you see, are quite capable of creating heaven through virtually any form of activity. A human ego can’t do it. But an Angel can and does and, therefore knowing the eternal nature of its Being, is in no hurry to lose the unique opportunities to express the particular blend of essences that are required in this short cycle of a life in this form. Whatever our circumstances are, it is a unique artistic challenge to create the experience of heaven out of the raw material of circumstances. We naturally accept that challenge with delight, not wanting to change some of the raw material and say, “I’d rather have more of this, and less of that.” It’s the futile habits of the outer consciousness to think that way, because the Angel can very easily create heaven with the raw material that is at hand. And there’s no frustration, because every circumstance affords the opportunity to express the creative genius and essences of one’s Being.

We must know the experience of heaven before we can offer much leadership on earth. Unless we are experiencing the creative fulfillment that is natural in heaven, our service on earth is limited. We can still serve even with our frustrations, anxieties and fears and know we are still playing a part. But we must also know that it is a natural part of the cycle for us to generate the fine substance required to come into the experience of Self in heaven, fulfilled. Then we find that certain of our essences can be expressed in every moment of our living. Then after that generalized expression of Self, it does happen that there are certain dominant essences of our Being that can move into focus so that we can sound those trumpets on earth. We have particular areas of essences that we are individually responsible for sounding in the body of mankind. It’s important that those do come around (and they will if we do it right), because the expression of these Angelic essences is the means of control and government within the larger body of mankind and beyond.

I’d like to look at some areas where people tend to experience frustration because they feel they are not expressing the essences of themselves in that field. One is sexual relationship. I think we can all relate to feelings of frustration. We have essences of love within ourselves, and may feel there’s no one in our vicinity that we can see who complements these intense currents of love that are essences of our Being that we long to release into the Earth. Much of the frustration generated in human beings is because they are focused in the level of form. The art of arriving on earth is to begin to release the essences, the currents, and the incense, with the forms that are actually available, even though a person may not be married or have some physically intimate relationship. Well, that’s tough then. That’s the situation. Must we be frustrated? No.

The Angel in heaven, one with his or her own essences (that’s who they are, after all) feels these currents emerging and looks around in the earth for someone to complement the current of love that may be moving. Now it would hardly be appropriate to jump on the first person of the opposite sex that one clapped eyes on—it’s not the creative way to do it! However, one can find in one’s world a symbol of the Beloved—perhaps a person sitting at a dinner table, and smile and converse with them appropriately in the current of the essences of one’s Being—and know that one is releasing into the earth, with this particular contact point, a complementary factor. It’s a complementary factor in heaven but looks as though it is someone out here. An Angel relates to them fittingly, creatively, and those essences are released.

There’s a progression of form available to release these essences: holding hands, giving a hug. If it is done artistically in the pure essences of your Being, you will find that you are releasing these essences of your Being, sexual factors, through the contact point on earth of someone you can hold hands with. The power is being released and the fire is being released through that small symbol. If it is the pure, clear essences of Spirit that you release through that small symbol, it moves out and achieves what it needs to achieve, and is also part of the creative process whereby a more substantial form or symbol is being created, through which greater intensity may in due season be released as needed in the creative cycle. We have to use the symbols that are present now, exactly as they are—and release the essences of Spirit ourselves through available forms, as part of the creative process for the achievement of larger purposes.

So we need never be frustrated in that field if we realize that fulfillment is always primarily in the experience of essences. I’m sure many of you have on occasion experienced communion and fulfillment sexually in essence, when you’ve held hands with someone, and can contrast that with having sexual intercourse with someone where those essences were not in focus. One experience is delightful, thrilling and fulfilling; the other is an empty husk. Form is not the dominant factor, ever. That’s not to say that there are not fulfilling factors related to all levels of form, but that is not the core factor of fulfillment.

Let’s take another relationship: children. There are many people who feel that they will never be fulfilled on earth because the essences of parenthood cannot be fulfilled. They’re either not married, or not likely to have children, so they feel frustrated. It’s because they don’t know how to live. Their identity is not in Angelic Being, with their essences; because there are children around all over the place! Those essences of parenthood may be exercised if they really need to. Opportunity abounds for the release of those essences.

How about money? Some people feel they would be fulfilled if they had lots of money and could show their expertise in handling it if they had enough to perhaps play the stock market. The essences of stewardship and money management can be released through a welfare check, in the same way one handles all physical form effectively and efficiently.

Fulfillment is in the level of essence, of Spirit, handling that more intense level of substance. The outer levels of substance are less intense, with less dense substance. The most intense experiences of life are known when one is consciously engaged in the denser levels of substance, living and acting from them. This is the art of creating heaven. Heaven, in all its dimensions, is created through handling spiritual essences. As soon as you become aware of a spiritual essence on the move and allow the careful release of that essence—the fire that is moving into the earth—and let it come precisely into the other levels of substance, fulfillment will be known.

This is how Angels begin to sound their trumpet in the earth. If I had read on in Revelation, you would see that when the Angel began to sound the trumpet, all sorts of results occurred in the lower levels of substance. Our crudest awareness of focalizations of Spirit, the presence of Angels, has always pertained to whatever level of substance our own Identity was focused in. Therefore when we were children, humanly speaking, or spiritually, our experience of focalization or leadership was an external control through someone else.

There’s a need to move successfully through the experience of focalization in all the different levels as they appear. Usually there’s no need for rebellion. There’s a wrong rebellion that is resistance to the Divine Design, taking the form of a naughty child or rebellious human ego. Then as one comes to the successful filling of the vessel with substance of a certain level, one naturally feels that that kind of control, external perhaps, is no longer quite fitting. There is a sensing that one has generated finer substance that transcends that level, and so the old patterns of focalization—yes sir, no sir—don’t feel quite right, and therefore there’s a change. There is no need to feel rebellious about it just because there’s change, and one naturally explores in a creative Spirit what the new patterns of interaction are. The crude experience is the teenaged thing. We know the same sort of machinations go on spiritually. So let’s be more graceful in our awareness of what is going on.

As the Angels do appear in the heaven and sound the trumpet, in order for a creative experience to occur, there has to be response to that. In one sense, the Angel doesn’t care. The Angel is always in heaven. It might be said by the Angel, “I Am always fulfilled.” I know I speak for all the Angels present. As the Angel actually appears in heaven on earth, the Angel doesn’t try to impose control. There’s no need. You might say the human consciousness’s experience of focalization is being imposed upon by something so-called higher than I am. Coming out of heaven, there is no need to try to exert control over anybody or anything. It’s a different process altogether. It’s just the presence of the focalized essences with their particular authority, and as that presence manifests more and more intensely through the levels of substance that have been generated in the earthly form, then the radiance does the job. Resonant substance in other people or objects throughout the body of mankind or the planet simply respond as the radiance is present, and find union in the experience of heaven, union with the Spirit.

Any substance that resists or doesn’t want to be unified, well that’s fine. It doesn’t matter to the Angel because we know that the process is under way. You might say that the beauty of Angelic focalization is that it is all done by love. It’s All Love. An Angel doesn’t want anybody or anything to respond, and doesn’t want anything. Government is maintained by the working of love. As the quality of the Angelic Presence appears, and its particular focalization of essences, then that which should be unified simply responds out of love. Anything that doesn’t love the point of focus from the Angelic standpoint doesn’t find union there and is not included in that part of the heaven, anyway; maybe they are orienting somewhere else, and that’s fine. It doesn’t matter. This takes a lot of the anxiety out of “who is responding to me” and “who isn’t.” Only a human ego would be bothered by such a thing. From the Angelic standpoint, ultimately everything is unified in love, and that’s where we begin to sense our Being is.

As we sound our trumpet out of heaven, things begin to happen in the earth, and the Angel uses available symbolic objects and situations through which to sound the trumpet. The essences, the power, the fire must have a medium, contact points into the various levels of substance. Thoughts are things. Thoughts are objects. Thoughts are symbols. They should no longer just flit through our minds. They are contact points with the whole consciousness of the body of mankind. When an Angel thinks, then that substance resonates throughout the whole consciousness of the body of mankind. No sweat. It just is so.

There’s another aspect to this matter of Angelic Presence that I would like to just touch on. I think we would say that Spirit is animating all the earth forms that exist throughout the whole Cosmos, wouldn’t we? There are some rather interesting implications to that generalized statement, because human beings usually think of the universe as an impersonal machine. We look up into the night sky and see all these solar systems, the galactic systems. We look out on the surface of the planet and see all the vegetation and other systems. It’s a very impersonal world that human egos live in. As far as the Cosmos goes, they live in the midst of what is thought of as this huge machine, and think only they have this intelligence and heart, and that everything else is machinery supporting this consciousness capable of experiencing love. It isn’t so. That’s the isolated human that has come to that pass.

As the subsequent seals are opened sequentially, we begin to find that the universe is not an impersonal place. If Spirit is Love, which is animating everything, it’s the Spirit of God. It is love. Well, what is this love? A sort of electricity? No. For love to be meaningful, identity must be involved, so that as Angels we begin to meet each other as focalizations of love. I know that I am a focalization of love—my real Self that my outer consciousness is beginning to know. I know my nature. I love to love! I’m beautiful. I’m noble. I’m honorable. Yes, I am this Angel! The outer consciousness begins to be aware of the presence of an Identity—the true Self, a focalization of love.

Whether I like it initially or not when I look out, I see other focalizations of the one Spirit of Love. It’s true of everybody. We know that theoretically, but in experience we should become increasingly capable of knowing communion with the essences of a person, even if they have some kinky human characteristics that we don’t care for much. If the Angel is increasingly present, we can disregard oddities, knowing that that’s not the eternal part. We can begin to connect with the essences of the Angel that is present. That in itself opens up a vast new world of communion. If you, as an Angel, begin to have control over your external consciousness and heart such that you can begin to forget the garbage that is spotted on various human beings and relate to the Angelic Presence, well then you can begin to be in a totally different world.

Even objects—trees, flowers, everything—are evidence of the Presence of an Angel who is coordinating that particular aspect of Spirit. I’m not saying there’s an Angel in every flower. I am saying there is a differentiation of an Angel in every flower. There is a point of Angelic Focus, a Divine Being, whose level of responsibility is to coordinate the creative field that, we’ll say, includes flowers or plants. That is a differentiation of a focus of Love. There is a point of Angelic Focus, a Divine Being for every species. The Angel’s Identity isn’t focused in that form, but the Angel’s Spirit is present through that creative field for which he or she has responsibility.

Now this has implications, because there is the possibility of communing. We think we’re just communing with nature. People go out and say, “Well, I sense God.” Who’s God? God is focalizations of Angels, Divine Beings who have particularized responsibilities of focalization in the Divine Design. There is a whole network of focalization. That opens up a whole level of communion, not just with a flower. You can commune with a flower, there is a differentiation, but increasingly we may find that it is not an unintelligent, unloving universe in which we find ourselves.

Coming back to the human-nature way of doing things, if a human being doesn’t like their neighbor they will maybe kick their neighbor’s car or, if they’re really nasty, their dog. Let’s put it this way: damage the neighbor’s car, you damage the neighbor. Now we, in human nature, do that all the time. There are people who we don’t realize we are attacking when we criticize their dog. It’s not really the dog, it’s a person we’re getting at—the way “their child is an ill-mannered twit, if ever I saw one,” and so on. And when the child goes by, some ill thought or word passes through us, maybe not even to the child, but in spirit we do our dirty stuff. There’s the person over there, and the differentiation of that person’s world (like their car) is contacted over here.

We have thought ourselves to be in an impersonal universe with flowers, trees and objects. It isn’t that way. We are connected in Spirit, in essence, to actual Beings, so that when we interact with any symbol, object or life-form, we are not merely interacting with that. That is a contact point with a Focus of Love, in fact. Here is an opportunity for communion at various levels, in Love, with a particularized Focus of Love. Heaven is not only vast; it is very personal. And you will find that as you begin to relate, at first you don’t know who the Being is that’s coordinating a pattern.

What I described is just an outline idea for something to begin. As you begin to relate to every object and connection in the current of love, releasing the essences of your own Being, you will find, for one thing, that you are beginning to generate spiritual intimacy in many dimensions. It is communion and the sharing of love. When you start doing it with objects, just expressing that tone of love, respect, cooperation, releasing the true essences of your Being in this interaction—although it may be high in the heaven yet and the outer consciousness is not yet capable of being aware of it—you are, in fact, communing with another Being, Beings. The world, the Cosmos, is actually only animated by Divine Beings. And their radiance is what we have called natural laws. It’s not just inanimate, unconscious power. It is the radiance of Beings. There is no other power except the presence of Angelic Beings. It is not impersonal.

So the experience of love begins to be much more intense, varied and omnipresent. It is a totally different universe than the human consciousness has known. Heaven is full of forms of union in Love. And we are here to provide a focus for this re-creative consciousness that experiences this. This is the Truth of Love. Above all else, we have all longed to love, to know love. As we awaken in heaven, we find (speaking of the outer consciousness) that just as we suspected, love is everything and everywhere. It is very intense, it is mild, and it is all the different nuances to be experienced.

YouTube Video  Part 2

And it is all very personal. The caressing of a flower is the caressing of a Divine Being’s hand somewhere. The healing touch on something that is ugly, with the intent to clear up a mess, is soothing to some Being somewhere; it is of assistance to a Being somewhere. It is not an impersonal act. It is an act of love. And as we begin to function in this world that I have just described, we will find love appears in myriad forms all around us.

Ultimately, the focus of this pattern of Divine Being is what we have called the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings. It is the expression of Love to Him personally. “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25:40) And that’s not just other human beings. “The least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Communion in love is available to us in every moment.
