When a number of human beings are assembled together in one place it usually is not silent. Is it not rather refreshing to be together in this place this evening and experience quietness? Silence without embarrassment. I am not embarrassed by this silence. Are you? Yet this is very different from what is usually known where human beings assemble themselves together. We are all here present this evening in this setting for a reason. I am sure that you are not interested in wasting your time. I am not either. So we are all here present, all together now. Do you think that we are here by chance? You know that you didn't just wander in. There has been much preparation for your coming, preparation in the life experience of each one and preparation in the life experience of others, so that there might be a setting into which you might come. If it isn't by chance then there is some sort of a sense of destiny, rightly. For one reason or another you could not help but be here. We are sufficiently humble not to imagine that we did it. Something was in action that affected us in such a way as to bring us to this moment, in this place together. This should emphasize in our consciousness the fact of purpose. There is indeed a reason why we are here, why we have been put together in this formation. We did not pick and choose each other to any great extent, and yet we are here. This formation is available for something.
You all have some consciousness of the reality which has allowed this to happen. What is the purpose? We might use words to define it, which may be accurate but not necessarily adequately understood. We are here together to allow spiritual action to occur, not for our own benefit but for the purposes of God. We are particular people, all unique; therefore it might be assumed that there is a unique purpose for this particular formation. Human beings sometimes drift into gatherings with the expectation of receiving some blessing—but I trust that none of us imagine that we are here present merely to receive a blessing. We are here to give a blessing, a blessing that is only possible of the giving by reason of these who are here present. The blessing that is possible to be given by reason of us would not be possible of the giving by anyone else. We are not really interchangeable. We need to have a consciousness of this, particularly as it relates to the gathering this evening. But the gathering here will only be valuable and effective as there is something of a consciousness of the unique expression which we individually may offer in blessing in our daily living. This is part of our daily living, but it brings all these unique expressions of blessing together in this one place, so that something even more valuable may happen, a greater intensity of Light may shine, a greater release of spiritual action may occur. It is surely our delight to be present to let it happen.
This little word let puts in an appearance again. We know very well that this relates to any creative process. “Let there be light,” was the creative command. But something preceded that creative command. It wasn't as though a Supreme Being suddenly had a brainstorm and by whim decided to say, “Let there be light.” Even in the record in the Book of Genesis there are several verses which precede the one which includes the words “Let there be light”: “The earth was without form, and void,” for instance, “and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Something is mentioned here which may seem to be more or less nothing to human consciousness: formless, void, empty, dark—and yet here was an adequate starting point, evidently. Reference is being made to something that appears to be nothing, dimensionally speaking—but isn't in fact. Reference is being made to what might be called the raw material of creation which is already present. It is already present now. From our standpoint, if creative action is to occur and the Creative Word be spoken, the Light be caused to appear in a special intensity by reason of this formation, it is because there is something already available to allow it to happen. We don't use the little word let in the creative process, out of the blue, so to speak. If there is to be a letting, it is because that letting is made possible—there is already a means for the letting. The letting doesn't produce the means for itself. There is something already present.
We may be able to see this relative to our own experience now. We have often spoken of the generation of substance, referring to it particularly as spiritual substance. One aspect of this substance has been called the substance of connection, the substance which makes possible spiritual connection so that spirit has a means of action within the range of human experience. This is our concern. Presumably spirit has had a means of action anyway everywhere, otherwise nothing would have happened; but we are aware that many things have happened and are happening and will happen in this whole vast universe. So the substance is already there universally speaking, but from the standpoint of human experience, not so. It must be generated—a substance of connection must be regenerated, we might say. The Master Himself spoke of the regeneration—the regeneration of the substance of connection, so that there may be a means for spiritual action, there may be a means by which the Creative Word may be spoken: “Let there be light,” perhaps.
So over the years there have been those who have been associated with this generative action. Substance has been generated by individuals over the years in some measure, and this also has been the case collectively, increasingly so. There is present, for instance, in this room, not only by reason of those who are here now in this moment but also by reason of what has gone before, a considerable amount of spiritual substance. Because of this there is much that can be achieved that could not have been achieved back along the way when there wasn't this extent of spiritual substance. Each individual is responsible for the generation in a personal sense, but also there is substance available, already present, which may be shared. We are here to increase the generation, certainly not to dissipate the substance that is already present. We all have a responsibility in this regard, but we may indeed be very thankful for the fact that there have been many who went before, and consequently there is an availability of substance in which we may now share quite apart from what we generate ourselves. I don't mean when I say “apart” that it is separate from anything we may generate ourselves. It is all one substance. Because of this substance, spirit can be in action to this extent.
Let us for a moment pause and consider the state of affairs in the human world, which has been sadly lacking in this spiritual substance beyond what we may refer to as the veil. There certainly is a veil in the world, and human beings function underneath it. It is so thick that there is scarcely any awareness that there could be anything beyond the veil. It isn't looked upon as a veil in fact; it is just looked upon as the way things are, and the area in which human beings do function is not seen as being restricted by a veil. Yet the fact of the matter is that it is so restricted. There is a little area under the veil where human consciousness resides and vibrational substance is fairly plentiful, but the operation all occurs under this veil. The realm of human consciousness, which is present by reason of the substance of it, is fairly coarse substance. All the various levels of substance under the veil are relatively coarse when seen in the light of the substance that is available above the veil. Here is very refined substance. This refined substance remains beyond human awareness because of the veil. The veil relates to the impure human heart. There is no open window of heaven, just a murky smog, and all human function is under the veil.
Human consciousness is the heaven in which the great red dragon functions and rules, or has ruled. This coarse substance under the veil has been wrongly used to create structures of all kinds which are then reproduced in physical substance, for instance. We have the physical world that human beings have created. It all emerged out of what was going on in human consciousness, the realm of the dragon who has ruled. The world as we know it is man-made. There are some evidences of the fact of another world, God-made, something that man could not make even though he manipulates it a good deal, tries to make it over. He deems that he has been quite successful in certain areas, changing the nature of animals and plants to suit himself, but there had to be animals and plants to start with. He could not make those. So the dragon has been enthroned in this coarse heaven below the veil.
It is said that there was war in this heaven. Many of these terms are used because they are familiar to human consciousness. It wasn't a ding-dong battle. We properly are permitting this so-called war to occur within the range of the coarse substance of consciousness for which we are responsible. We cannot take responsibility for the coarse consciousness which is present in others but we can with respect to our own. And it is within the range of this coarse substance below the veil, the substance for which we personally are responsible and collectively are responsible, that the heaven is, out of which the dragon must be cast and is in the process of being cast, so that there may be a safe place in this coarse substance for the designs present in the fine substance to begin to put in an appearance. There is nothing wrong with coarse substance as such. It is the uses to which it has been put that have been wrong—unrighteousness. So the coarse substance is available, but what has been present in it must be cast out. The structures must be dissolved in one way or another so that there is room, so that there is space, for the true design to begin to emerge out of the fine substance and be present at this level of heaven.
Here is our field of responsibility. We are to allow heaven to be here where we are, and it is a very practical matter. Let the coarse substance of our human consciousness be cleared. It is cleared of the structures that have been established there when we stop preserving them, when we stop giving our life force to their continued existence—stop arguing to support the things that need to pass away. Human beings have memories which need to be dissolved. It is said that the Spirit of Truth would bring all things to remembrance. This is slightly different. The Spirit of Truth doesn't bring to remembrance your hereditary shortcomings. It brings to remembrance what is already present in the fine substance above the veil, which is to be allowed to emerge through the veil into the coarse substance of human consciousness. The coarse substance itself is all right; that is the composition of human consciousness. There would not be any human consciousness without it. So we don't object to it but we do know that there is a great deal present in human consciousness which certainly doesn't belong there. It has been produced by the evil imaginings of human hearts. As long as it is there the dragon controls, the human state is preserved, and there is no possibility of any other experience until there is a little space created in this coarse substance. You are the container for this coarse substance—the coarse substance available in the individual to be cleared; and it is only available for that person in his own consciousness. This is true of each one.
We all have the responsibility of letting this dissolution take place, but we also recognize that it does take place by reason of spiritual action emerging through the veil from the fine levels of substance which have not been distorted at all. The clearing of the veil to allow this to happen is the purification of the heart. The purification of the heart comes when the emotions are no longer triggered by what is below the veil. When the heart begins to be moved by what is above the veil then it begins to be purified, so that the dark cloud of the veil may be allowed to dissolve, at least at the point where that individual is. The cloud is always dissolved from above. Everything that goes on under the veil in the human nature state of consciousness is consequent upon what is happening under the veil. It goes around and around in a circle under the veil, and human beings are stimulated by their environments in one way or another to do this or that. Sometimes the stimulation is deemed to be good and sometimes the stimulation is deemed to be bad—but all the stimulation in this state comes from what is below the veil. As long as we are being stimulated, in whatever way, by what is going on under the veil we are completely useless. This gives a sad picture of the human race, doesn't it?—completely useless. That is the fact of the matter.
There is a potential for use; that is why the human race is still here. If that potential were gone then the human race would be gone. We are aware of the reality of that potential because we have, in whatever measure, begun to permit the experience of an expression which comes through the veil into the world below the veil so that something is added, a blessing emerges. We are here therefore to bless the world, and in blessing it to awaken it—to change it, to re-create it. Fundamentally it is an awakening that is required, out of the state of evil human imagination. There needs to be something absolute on earth in this regard, just as absolute as the One called Jesus is deemed to be. That is the nature of the absoluteness that is required of those who come into position to let what is in the fine substance emerge into the coarse substance of human consciousness in oneself—that is creative action. It is the creative action of spirit actually present, and this certainly has an effect with respect to human consciousness everywhere, because the fact of the matter is that human consciousness is not really divided up into little wee segments in individual human beings. It is one thing.
This coarse substance permits the creative Word to be spoken when there is someone on hand to speak it. In the beginning of the creation of the earth God was on hand somehow, and God said, “Let there be light.” But first of all the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters—the available substance. The Light emerges from the level where it is and acts in the coarse substance to the extent that the veil has been dissolved. It is like a ray of sunshine coming through the clouds. It makes a difference, doesn't it? Finally a ray of sunshine comes through and the whole world is transformed. We deliberately are willing to allow this to happen in our own experience in order that there may be a blessing extended, coming down from God out of heaven into the earth. We are the break in the clouds by which it happens. We are that break when the heart is sufficiently pure so that it is moved only by the beauty and the wonder and the Glory of the Spirit of God. As long as the heart is moved by the darkness underneath, it remains impure and there is no rent in the clouds to allow the sun to come through. The clouds are dissolved from above, not from below, and gradually the break in the clouds becomes larger and there is a safe place for the sunshine below the clouds.
We each have a responsibility to preserve that safe place. It is in our human consciousness. Did you ever consider as to how much you are really interested in preserving that safe place in your consciousness? Or do the arguments occur to you to convince you that it is impossible? There are so many things, aren't there, that make it impossible—like the impossibility of walking on the water. What really is impossible? There are many things that are impossible in human imagination. Most people think that they have to enter into imagination to be freed from the restrictions. One begins to be freed from the unnecessary restrictions when one comes out of the realm of imagination into the realm of fact, the realm of Truth. I say “unnecessary restrictions” because there really are restrictions that are right and proper. There is the restriction, for instance, of the orbit in which the earth moves around the sun. Would you like to dissolve that restriction? I don't think so. We don't want the earth straying too far out of that orbit. Maybe there is a need for some adjustment but I don't think any human mind is capable of telling what that adjustment should be. There are proper restrictions in this sense. There is a design—a true design. The universe is not an undifferentiated blob. So there are restrictions, and we don't rebel about the necessary ones but we may see that in human imagination vast areas of restriction have been created and steadfastly maintained so that we are all convinced about them. These are some of the structures that need to be dissolved.
With God all things are possible. In reality all things are possible by reason of the action of the Spirit of God, but we remember that the Spirit of God includes the Spirit of Truth, and Truth is characterized by design and control. Given eternity, I suspect that everything that is conceivable could occur, but we wouldn't want it all to occur in one big bang, would we? So, wisely, there is no hurry. There is quite a while yet to go before eternity runs out, and it works out naturally in measured tones, rhythmically. If we are wise we are willing to let that happen, but in order to experience what that actually is the arbitrary structures that have been humanly devised and established must be dissolved. They will, finally, one way or another, be pushed out of the way anyhow. But we have expectations that when they are pushed out of the way they won't at the same time push all human beings out of the way, because there are those who have been willing to let go of those things so that the structures can go and they can stay, and be in position to participate in the creative expression of the Word, the sounding of the creative Tone, the action of spirit.
We are here to let that action occur. We have been here this evening to let that action occur in this particular formation. We have participated in the movement of that spirit in action. We don't have to try to make the spirit explain to us what the action this evening has particularly accomplished. Very largely that is none of our business. Our business is to let that action occur so that whatever is needful may be accomplished—and it is a wise provision that we don't know too much about it, because if we did we would probably interfere. This is the human habit, isn't it? If there is any human nature hanging around, that habit is hanging around too. We want to see things work the way we want to see things work. Never mind. Let it go! Let the creative action of spirit produce what is needful because we offer ourselves in position in this formation, in any formation at any time—or as individuals. We let whatever needs to happen happen on this basis, and we are not sorry to see the structures in the coarse substance of our own human consciousness be dissolved, because it doesn't leave a blank, strangely enough. The fine substance contains the design, and this comes forth naturally and easily, and all things work together to perfection. We have some experience of this already. Let us continue to let it happen to the Glory of God and to bring blessings into the world, which heretofore has been entirely under the veil. And behold, that coarse substance for which we ourselves are responsible may provide a resting place for what is coming down from God out of heaven, and we keep it safe. What becomes possible on this basis is certainly beyond the wildest imaginings of the human mind, is beyond anything, certainly, that is the experience in that realm of human imagination. How blessed we are to have a part to play in this!

A Special Message in the King's Chamber

“Our function is to let Reality manifest in the world chaos,
that in due season the Responding Ones of the masses
will be drawn into harmonization with the Focal Expression of Reality
which is made manifest through us in the world.”
Let the Blessed Ones realize that in the radiation of the Fire of the Christ Love, the choice of each one is being forced into expression, no matter what that choice may be. As the ever-increasing manifestation of power is released through the creative cycles focalized in the Third Sacred School, there is an intensification of all the activities of the world, no matter what they are. Those activities that are of the unreal, having chosen destruction, are intensified in their destructive expression. Those activities that are of the real, having chosen Life, are intensified in their creative expression. As yet there are very few individuals who are functioning in the fullness of the real, or in the fullness of the unreal. Each individual is, as yet, a mixture of the two types of expression—however, the change now taking place in the world is bringing each individual into a clear-cut harmonization with one side or the other. For most people, the pendulum will be swinging to all sorts of extremes, until the direction of response becomes one-pointed. Those who become one-pointed in their response to the unreal will be established on the side of destruction which is rapidly destroying itself. Those who become one-pointed in their response to reality will be established on the side of Eternal Life in the creative expression. The time has come when people can no longer be on both sides. So many people are lukewarm in their responses—and so does the world call them good. To all such are the words of Revelation 3: 14-19.
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit saith unto the churches. And unto the angel of
the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful
and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. I know thy works, that
thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will
spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest,
I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not
that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou
mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the
shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that
thou mayest see. As
many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.”
The time of being neither hot nor cold is past. The people of the world are taking sides with a vengeance, that they may fight on the side of their choice—for there are two sides in the world of unreality, which are fighting against each other. One side functions through a great, worldwide religion. The other side functions through the control of banking and monetary interests. Those who take either of these two sides are wrong. No one can choose between them and live. The Blessed Ones have come to a time when they must cease taking sides on the issues which concern the world, from a world standpoint. In the function of reality, each one is called to respond one-pointedly to reality, without being for or against any side, or function, that may appear, or be warring, in the world. On any worldly side there is that which is right, and there is that which is wrong. To take sides is to condone the wrong on the side chosen, and to condemn the right on the side chosen against. The Earnest One knows that the real will stand, and the unreal will fall, no matter what sides are taken in the world—and no matter who fights against whom. The faithful One remains clear of all sides except the Cosmic side of reality, letting the world fight as it will, without fear of, or anger toward, either side. This is that which is now of utmost importance to all, that they may remain tranquil, no matter what takes place.
Both of the great sides in the world, each of which has numerous internal factions, do all that they can to engender hate for their opponents, and fear of themselves—so that hate will drive those who respond to hate, and fear will control the rest. Perfect Love casts out all fear, and where there is Love, there can be no hate. Both sides can point to things that are not right on the other side—and to things that are reasonably right on their own side, and out of such subjections to hate and fear the present conflict in the world is growing. Our function is to let Reality manifest in the world chaos, that in due season the Responding Ones of the masses will be drawn into harmonization with the Focal Expression of Reality which is made manifest through us in the world. The Way whereby this function in the Radiance of Reality may best manifest is clearly revealed in the booklet, Seven Steps to the Temple of Light.
Let the Faithful One consider the words of our Great Master as recorded in Matthew 10: 32-42
“Whosoever
therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father
which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also
deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send
peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a
man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and
the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they
of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not
worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of
me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of
me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my
sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth
me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a
prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man
in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And
whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water
only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose
his reward.”
The radiation of the Christ Love cannot bring peace on earth so long as evil remains in the earth as the controlling influence among mankind. The conflict is being intensified, according to the choice of each one. Now are we living in the period our Master spoke of in His Words recorded in Matthew 24: 4-14
“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take
heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am
Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars:
see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the
end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against
kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in
divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill
you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall
many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax
cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the
same shall be saved. And this gospel of the
kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and
then shall the end come.”
Truly, “Men's hearts (are) failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.” Luke 21: 25-26. This fear prompts the attitude of bravado which is so evident in the expression of human beings everywhere—but that show of bravado will turn to the cry of Revelation 6:16 as the pressure of world affairs increases—“And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on
us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the
wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his
wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” Babylon of Revelation 18 is the world commercial structure upon which world trade, and so-called progress, are based—and so do we come now to the time of the out-manifestation of the events recorded in the 18th chapter of Revelation—“And after these
things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth
was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice,
saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen…”—even as those events have already taken place from an inner standpoint, in that those who are involved have refused to choose reality.
The “beast and the false prophet” are now at work in the earth as never before. The beast is that function of the faction which controls both capital and labor, pitting them against each other for their own selfish ends, and which dominates the industry and commerce of the world—and this faction is spoken of in the 9th verse of both the 2nd and 3rd chapters of Revelation. Those who say “they are Jews, and are not, but do lie,” are those who crucified our Great Master, and who have perpetrated a long series of world-wide crimes down through the centuries since that time—and who are now, as they think, on the verge of the victory for which they have worked down through the centuries, namely: absolute supremacy in, and rulership of, the whole world. It is because of these who claim “they are Jews, and are not, but do lie,” that racial prejudice and persecution are kept alive in the earth. On the other hand, the false prophet is that worldwide religious expression which claims to be the mouthpiece of God, but is, as a whole in directive function, without any true Spirituality. These are the two opposing factions of the unreal wherein all other unreal factions are contained—and between which all of the fighting in the world is taking place. This fighting of the unreal against the unreal is that which will surely destroy the unreal from the face of the earth—and to take sides with either side is to take part in that destruction.
The Way of Reality is not the way of fighting against any. We let Love Radiate to all alike, without respect to race, color or creed. Of every race, color and belief there are tens of thousands of Earnest Ones who will be drawn into harmony in the Cosmic Plan. To the degree that you can look on the things that are taking place in the earth, without fear, without hate, and without anger, but in a true Love Radiance to all alike, you are standing on the Rock. Some there are who say that we should not mention such things, but that we should close our eyes to them, and delude ourselves into saying that they do not exist. Such an attitude is born of fear—and perfect Love casts out all fear. Those who try to deny evil have just as much faith in it as those who are openly subject to it.
Being in the world, but not of it, each Earnest One is called to walk in the Central Way, avoiding all extremes—wherein he feels no need whatsoever of fighting against anyone under any condition for any cause. However, that does not mean that such an one is to become a doormat for selfish and aggressive persons who know not Love. The Earnest One, standing on the Rock, cannot be overcome, or disturbed. Those who try to fight against the Faithful One finds that his fighting is returned upon his own head. We fight not, but those who fight against us are crushed by their own fighting. In the Cosmic Period of choice you are called to so stand on the Rock, in the Christ Power of your Lord, that you may test the unreal that comes against you, and that you may no longer be tested by the unreal. It Is Wise To Be Alert

In order for the restoration of man—let things be put together the way they were created to be—there must be the connecting link between God and man, and that comes by reason of the body of the Son of God. It came by reason of the body of Jesus, according to the story. He evidently was well aware that it needed to be more than His body. He gathered around Him some other people, Twelve Disciples in particular. There was something way before that, when there was a gathering together of what were then the Twelve Tribes of Israel. There were actually Thirteen—but then it was Thirteen with the disciples too, because there was Jesus there as well. So there is some significance to that number.
It didn’t work when there were a lot of people. I suppose consideration was given to the matter: “How can we get it to work? Human beings are so intransigent. Perhaps if one person goes and provides a true focus of Spirit in the earth in form it will be possible to bring together twelve men out of the population of the world who would accept that and who would be willing to relinquish their separate existences in order to participate in the bringing together of the whole.” It didn’t work, even with only twelve men. So all that could happen was that the body of one man carried through without a break. The break occurred in the disciples. It wasn’t really those wicked people—the rulers of the Jews or the Romans—who produced a destructive condition. It was the failure of the twelve men. The question has arisen again, insofar as we are concerned: Can there be whatever the required number is now, first of all of men who will relinquish their insistence upon doing what they want to do, following out their likes and dislikes, so that they might accept and receive the creative process into their own living, let that creative process do what it needs to do? This is something that is being proven out, as to whether there are—how many? Twelve men, do you think? I am thankful to see that there are those who are beginning to emerge in a more exact way in this regard, who are not concerned about their human careers, for instance, but are concerned alone to allow the creative process to work as it will.
So something has to be proven out every time. If you read the record of history with a spiritual perspective—most beautifully portrayed through much of the story contained in the Bible—you will note that it was all failure, all down the line: Adam and Eve to start with; Cain; you can keep going. Whenever something began to be drawn together it was invariably broken at some point. There was the scattering of the Israelites, and there are those of course who have been trying to get that together again. It’s like the resurrection of a disintegrated corpse. It’s a pretty difficult business—the substance has all gone every which way. But we have the opportunity to let the body of the Son of God be put together, and it is happening, simply because there has been a focus of the Spirit moving in the creative process to bring this to pass. Something has been held sufficiently steady and stable over a sufficient length of time to allow for this drawing power to recreate the body of the Son of God, resurrect the body of the Son of God, so that once again there is a body that is governed by the One whose body it is—the Son of God. I am sure that we all like to be coordinated in our own individual bodies. This body which is being drawn together only operates as a unified body when the parts are not trying to play their own games. That is obviously so; otherwise it disintegrates. When your own personal body, the parts of it, begin to want to go their own way, you disintegrate. This is what happens in the human experience. Let us let it come together. But it only comes together on the basis of the creative process, which doesn’t pander to human likes and dislikes, to human wants and desires, to human ambitions. What a relief it is to come again to the experience of man, made in the image and likeness of God to accommodate the expression of God. Do you think that would be worse than what is now known? Fulfilment! Let it be the way it works! And as we yield to that, behold, the body of the Son of God re-forms.
The experience which is known because of this requires that every failure that has happened down through the past should be met victoriously now. If any failure is repeated we’re finished. There have no doubt been a lot of little failures, but thus far there has been a carrying through of the core of this body. It has not become subject to those elements that are present in human nature which would bring a break. This is something that has been proven out in various ways a number of times. The most obvious one, I suppose, was when Uranda left this sphere of things, and at that point there was no break. Well that was a point of victory, but don’t imagine that that was the last point required to be proven out. We could look over the historical record and we could see, all along the line, where the breaks came, and usually the breaks came immediately after a more intensified release of the currents of radiation.
Remember the story of what has subsequently been called the transfiguration. Here was something remarkable which occurred, and it happened because there were three of the disciples present who at that point were willing that it should. But as soon as it occurred, one of the disciples reverted into his human-nature condition instead of letting the process continue as it was working. This was, they say, Peter: “Let’s build three tabernacles!” This is the sort of human-nature reaction that occurs. Something marvelous happens in a spiritual sense and, “Oh, let us put up a statue!” Leave it alone. Let it continue to work. Don’t push in some human-nature idea, which was certainly very vividly portrayed in this story. Immediately, what was happening vanished. There was a break. There was a point of failure.
I think it is wise to be alert, in one’s own experience, that when there is a greater outpouring of radiation and something marvelous is being felt and known and expressed, to be careful that you do not find yourself being knocked off your pedestal, so to speak, very shortly thereafter. Let what was happening unfold at its own pace. Don’t try to make something of it. No one needs to make anything of anything. Let the creative process work, and it will do what needs to be done. And we may all rejoice in that doing. That is fulfilment. But one has to let it happen to find out that it is fulfilment. One can wonder about it: “Well I don’t know; maybe it will be all right.” You never find out. You find out that what you are doing is all wrong eventually, but this is taken for granted nowadays.
The sign of the Son of Man is present in the heaven because the control and the design are in the process. It is working. The body has come together to this extent. It needs to be more coordinated than it is as yet, but it is all coming. Let the creative process work. Don’t look at what is happening and say, “That is wrong; I think something else should happen over there; that person isn’t doing what he should be doing.” How do you know? Let the creative process work. Trust it. And, behold, the body takes form. Of course there are many, many things involved in all of this, relative to the failures all down the line; but the creative process does what it should do, exactly right, when allowed to do it. We are here to allow it to do it, and I am thankful that we have the opportunity of sharing an hour such as this when we may awaken more fully to an awareness of the way things actually work. Then we may trust life, trust the creative process, because we become more and more familiar with the expertise of it. It does things right. Human beings never do.
We have connections with many. They are with us and we are with them. Here is the evidence of the Son of Man in heaven—the sign of the Son of Man. And it is through this that God and man can be reunited. It is through the working of the creative process that we can be aware of this much of how it is working, and how essential what is happening is. It is not subject to anyone’s judgment: “Oh I don’t think it should work that way.” Well it does, and what one thinks will make no difference to it. It works the way it works. Let us be satisfied, content with that, and we will find that all things needful are available, and all things needful will be done. While we have shared directly together this evening, we continue to share just as directly even though there is no telephone line, just as directly, because we all trust the same creative process and all embody the same beautiful spirit of the living God. We remain together in our experience of living, and this is so with those who compose the resurrected body of the Son of God wherever they may be on the face of the earth.
