We Need To Get On With The Job

We  Need  To  Get  On  With  The  Job

excerpts from

The Spirit of Understanding  and  The Intervening Provision

Martin Cecil  April 16, 1978 am & pm

We have a gathering here for the generation of power and beauty which may have an effect upon a large audience of human beings who are not present here in person. When there are those of whom it may be said they are with one accord in one place there is a creative facility available for the use of the Lord—true Cause. The expression of true Cause is present but virtually unknown insofar as human beings in the world are concerned, because they have become involved with another cause—the human mind. The human mind tends to think of itself as cause, but the mind itself is an effect. If an effect tries to play the role of Cause there is then a false cause present. True Cause remains beyond awareness and is excluded from any true expression in human experience.

That realm of Cause which already is a reality and always has been, may be referred to as heaven. Human affairs are restricted to the earth—there is a lack therefore of any real understanding of what it is that is transpiring outside of this restricted realm in which they imprison themselves. We have seen these things and recognized the futility of remaining embedded in that state. There is the necessity of coming out of it, of awakening, but the means by which we may come out of it is obviously not the false cause of the human mind. True Cause relates to true spirit. The mind is quite incapable of understanding or encompassing spirit. Spirit is quite capable of understanding and encompassing the mind. If you say “I don't understand,” you are saying that you are identified with your own mind. If understanding is based upon the ability of the mind to grasp knowledge then the real experience of understanding can never be known. Here is the mind again trying to be Cause when it is only an effect. The physical body of man is obviously an effect of something; the mind is an effect of something—something must be present if there is to be the possibility of mental function. If that something is not present, then all we have is a corpse.

Be careful what you say. Pause and consider. True identity is in Cause, in true spirit. If there is identity with true spirit then your words would be: “I understand. My mind may not be capable of encompassing this understanding, but I do not depend upon my mind to tell me when I understand.” The mind is capable of understanding certain things at a certain level but it very quickly gets out of its depth; and then it finds itself in a realm of fantasy, a realm that doesn't really exist in reality. We need to wake from this bad dream. The heaven is the realm of Cause, and our identity needs to be there. Then we understand. Understanding comes to the extent of purity of heart. By reason of this emotional capacity, we may move into a realm of Cause where understanding is and may therefore be the experience if our identity is there. You either know identification with Cause or you know identification with effect. Identification with effect is a state of darkness. The light relates to Cause—identification with spirit, the one place of agreement. There is only a true meeting in true spirit. True spirit is uncontrollable by the mind. The mind seeking to establish control over spirit loses true spirit and finds a substitute in its place, referred to as evil spirit, destructive spirit. Human beings are governed constantly by these sort of spirits—human nature. But why insist upon involvement with human nature when we may participate in the experience of angelic nature?

The word angel may be used to identify one whose identity is in heaven. If we experience our identity in heaven while we are living in form on earth then obviously there are angels present and in expression on earth—heaven and earth are revealed as being One. It is this reality in experience that allows the transformation of the consciousness of mankind—but not merely because one person has that experience. We could point to the One who was called Jesus and say, “There is the evidence of an individual who experienced identification in the realm of Cause while living on earth.” This fact certainly opened the door, but thus far virtually no one has gone through it. Everybody has fallen down and worshipped the door, if they have paid any attention to it at all. But a door is of value because one may go through it.

As there are those who do awaken to the true experience of identity in the realm of Cause it is because there is the experience of spiritual expression. We accept the responsibility in our living of giving expression to the true nature of Cause; and we are not always excusing ourselves by saying, “I don't understand.” Oh yes we do! We understand enough for the moment to give expression to true Cause at the level of our present experience. We have enough understanding of the quality of right spirit to give it expression. We also have enough understanding of the quality of wrong spirit to refrain from giving it expression. Angelic nature begins to reveal the true nature of the individual, and this can only be done in living—by expressing the true quality of life. Then life isn't a secret anymore.

As there are those who begin to let this happen agreement becomes a natural experience—agreement in spirit. This ministry only exists to the extent that there is agreement in spirit. There are those who have tried to make it exist on the basis of agreement in form, but scarcely anyone agrees on this basis. In true spirit there is agreement. This ministry has remained together because there was sufficient willingness to keep aligned with spirit, in which the agreement was. If we agree in spirit we find that there is a form which emerges in consequence, but it does not emerge because we figured it out with our minds. When spirit governs, the mind moves accordingly, and the understanding of the mind will be what is necessary to fulfil the particular requirements of the expression of spirit in the moment—and the mind in that case may say “I understand this much,” but it minds its own business and it doesn't try to understand something which it does not understand.

The agreement comes in spirit, and those whose identity begins to center there find themselves a part of something that reveals the design in spirit. There is a design in Cause, a design which when it is operative in the realm of effects allows the realm of effects to reflect the realm of Cause. What is needful is that true Cause should have opportunity of release into the consciousness of mankind—and that is not going to just happen. The yoke is easy and the burden is light, but it doesn't happen just by chance, because we would like it to happen. It happens because there is a fulfilment of the essential requirements. And those essential requirements relate to the realm of Cause.

There is an indication conveyed by words in the Book of Revelation—don't get hung up on the words—a couple of verses about coming up hither into the realm of Cause and becoming aware of certain things because of that. The description included something translated as Four Beasts, four living creatures. Sometimes, when we begin to think about the realm of Cause and the sounding of the Tone we may think of just one note. Clearly that would become tiresome after a little. There is a vast variety and it emerges on the basis of the fact that there are unique individuals associated in distinct configurations. There were Four Beasts described, four distinct configurations of angels incarnate in human form. What is being described as being in heaven is the authority and the government of God, the means by which Cause may operate in the affairs of men. Because true Cause operates in the affairs of men, true Cause will then operate beyond human beings in whatever the scope of their field of responsibility really is, and that may go way beyond the earth. The point is that this facility of authority and government should begin to be experienced by those who find themselves identified with Cause. There are these configurations of angels for specific creative purposes. Do you think we are all here by chance? You know better than that. Many human gatherings may seem to be by chance, but this isn't so with us because there is an understanding of purpose. We find ourselves associated with others in relationship to the fulfilment of this purpose.

You shouldn't think of purpose in terms merely of your momentary task. That is a part of the purpose, but there is far more to it than that. We are sharing a purpose, and the purpose goes way beyond whatever is done—and yet these tasks are necessary. They give us the opportunity to reveal in expression our angelic nature. If we do that then we begin to move in the greater purpose. The conscious mind may not always know what that is. It doesn't need to. It is fortunate very often that it doesn't know, because if it knew it would interfere. But you know in your identification with Cause. There is something beyond mental grasp, which is the true knowing. Then the mind can come along and play its part in the total expression of true Cause. That total expression is spiritual expression, the Holy Spirit, complete, not little bits and pieces. We have the opportunity of allowing various configurations to appear, not by reason of some idea that the human mind has but by reason of what is impelled by spirit. Then those configurations can be used for the creative purpose, and we may share in letting that creative purpose appear. This is the sole reason why any of us are incarnate on earth now.

After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven:

and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said,

Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

And immediately I was in the spirit; and, behold, a throne was set in heaven,

and One sat on the throne.

There is One who sits on the throne, not half a dozen. We have some awareness of the reality of the One Law, of the truth as it relates to what has been called focalization—this is a fact of life. The reality of the true Tone of Life is made evident because of this fact. There is One who sits on the throne. In order that this might come out of the realm of imagination into the realm of true experience the throne which is in heaven must be made known. The composition of that throne is angelic—formed of angels who function in heaven, the realm of Cause, revealing the reality of the One who sits upon the throne. It is because of this One, because of this Supreme Point of Focus, that agreement, oneness is made possible. This One who sits upon the throne we have seen as relating not only to an invisible point but to an undimensional point. The throne itself is dimensional—it is a reality in heaven, the realm of Cause for this earth. The heaven and the earth are the two aspects of the dimensional world, but the throne is set in heaven. This is certainly invisible from the earthly standpoint but quite knowable from the angelic standpoint.

There is a heavenly facility by which the One extends His authority and His government into the world. That authority and that government spring alone from that One. We may speak of that One, we may identify that One by using words, perhaps the Lord God, the LORD of Lords, the Lord of Love, but the use of words does not acquaint us with that One. We are only acquainted with that One to the extent that we are actually centered in that One, that all our love is offered to that One, nothing whatsoever held out. The whole capacity to love in the human sense must be yielded to the One who sits upon the throne if the first great commandment is to be kept. How is this to be done?

Is it a matter of endeavoring to love some invisible God figure somewhere? No. That would be an endeavor to love a concept of the mind. It certainly wouldn't be loving God. The only way by which we may love God is through the provision which He has made by which we might do so—an intervening provision. There is something between the yielded human heart and God, something to provide a connection. There is a reality in heaven. There is the throne, upon which the One sits. The throne is in the heaven. The One is above the throne. The only way by which one may come in yielded love to the One who is above the throne is by reason of the throne. We are using symbolic words to describe something here. There is a very specific configuration of angels who provide the connection between the One and the yielded human heart. This is not a haphazard jumble of angelic beings—there is a very specific configuration. That configuration was described in earthly terms; however there is something that can be spiritually discerned relative to what are spoken of as the Four Beasts. I am not ignoring all the other symbols that are used to complete the picture, but merely to look at something that relates to our own present experience.

There is the necessity for this throne to become known in heaven on earth. It is a reality in heaven already; it doesn't have to be made so. But because human beings have been functioning in the earth, in the realm of effects, utilizing effects as causes for their actions, they have been below the veil and the heaven has been unknown—the reality has remained unknown and must remain unknown as long as the earth of human experience is held out as something separate. The heaven is then hidden—there is a veil between. What is real must be experienced to be known and it can't be experienced as it is on the basis of imagination or an endeavor to believe something. Heaven is a present reality and the throne is present in the heaven. The design by which the yielded heart may receive the truth of heaven into spiritual expression on earth is present by reason of the fact that the angels who compose it are present.

We recognize those angels as being present insofar as we personally are concerned by reason of the fact of incarnation in human form. The presence of the angel in human form sustains the life in that human form and was responsible for the building of that human form in the first place. So certainly the composition of the throne is very close to each individual. The very Cause of life in personal experience is a part of that throne. As angelic expression begins to characterize our experience we begin to find ourselves associated with others who are experiencing the same thing—it naturally happens. We are concerned with what is the reality in heaven. Wisely we do not buck that reality. We accept the outer circumstance for what it is. Effective personal relationships emerge when we are not being ruled by our hearts and minds. There is the need for spirit to find expression, spirit which will govern the operation of the heart and the mind and the body. So, as ever, our concern is with true spirit.

If the world is to be restored to the One who sits upon the throne, there is only One Way, and that is through what has been spoken of as the Christ, or in other terms the Lamb, or in still another term, Shekinah. This is present in the heaven because of the angels who are present in the heaven, the angels differentiating the spirit of the One who sits upon the throne, differentiating that spirit in the heaven. The differentiation of that spirit doesn't change it; it merely causes it to be comprehensible. As long as it remains undifferentiated in the One it is not comprehensible. As it is differentiated by the angels in the heaven it becomes comprehensible, and the angels compose the design by which authority and government may be extended into the earth.

It is only on the basis of response because of the throne that anyone can be restored to the One who sits upon the throne. That is in fact the restoration—mankind is to be restored to the One who sits upon the throne. Restoration implies a coming again. This experience of being One with the One who sits upon the throne was known on earth before. It is known in heaven now. Because it is known in heaven now it can be known on earth now, and we have the opportunity of so yielding human hearts in love toward the One who sits upon the throne—but in a specific sense toward that configuration of angels which composes the throne. No man cometh unto the Father, unto the One who sits upon the throne, but by what intervenes. The angelic design in heaven intervenes. Human beings have been trying to come directly to God, usually on the basis of some imaginary figure, but there is only One Way—the Way, the Truth and the Life. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” The true angelic identity of the individual is the Way, the Truth and the Life for that person, and only through the angel is it possible to be restored to the One who sits upon the throne.

Collectively speaking we have spoken of the Archangel, utilizing that word to describe the focus of the collective identity in heaven—one might say the Throne Identity, the identity of the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne. The composition of this throne is of angels—angels in a very specific configuration. It requires a very specific configuration for the creative process to work. It was designed this way, but human beings have been trying to change the design to suit themselves. But the design in fact has not changed; it's the same as it always has been. If we begin to have experience of spiritual expression in living, so that we begin to know ourselves in angelic consciousness, we find that there are associations emerging—associations between angels. Necessarily the human element tags along, but the association is between angels if it is real, if it is a part of the design, if it is included in the throne upon which there is One who sits.

Now we find ourselves in these associations. If we lose our angelic vision and return to the human view then we discover that there are all kinds of things that are not pleasing or not right, we think, in our associations with this one or that one. The angelic association has nothing to do with human likes and dislikes. Human likes and dislikes will distract people from the experience of the angelic association. We are very much concerned for the clear experience of angelic association. In this regard, there are specific configurations. Four of them are described in this 4th chapter of the Book of Revelation—the Four Beasts, the four living creatures. This is not a complete description of all possible associations necessary to the creative process springing from Cause in heaven.

We have an association here—an open-ended association because it includes all who wish to be here. However, in the creative process there are associations which specifically include certain angels. We need to reach a point where we can assemble groupings of people without anyone who is not included in the particular grouping feeling that they are somehow being excluded or being put down in some fashion. Because of such reactions we have rather seldom been able to have particular configurations for particular creative purposes—the reactions of others who are not a part of the grouping would tend to nullify anything that was being achieved by the grouping—but there should be vastly more such groupings. As angels we have our parts to play and that's all there is to it, and we play our parts in relationship to others. If the creative purposes for which we are here as angels are to be fulfilled there is the need for a great variety of these groupings for very particular purposes. The human mind may not understand. Why be bothered if the human mind does not understand? Don't identify yourself with it and you won't be bothered.

We need to get on with the job, and as we do get on with the job, without indulging ourselves in any reactionary attitudes, there begins to be a more specific point of focus and orientation for human beings everywhere. It is by reason of these various groupings that people can be touched in various ways, depending upon what is present with respect to the angels concerned, the nature of the spirit that is being differentiated, and also taking into account the earthly heredity of the particular form of the individual, because we have our connections on this basis with people everywhere. We are designed to use these connections, but we certainly can't use these connections other than in angelic consciousness. Then we are no longer reacting all over the place. How does the human mind know where the angel should be? Let it work out on the basis of the angelic expression and it will be right. It is the fact of these various configurations that provides the means of connecting up with every aspect that is present in the consciousness of mankind, so that all who will may become increasingly aware of the specific nature of the connection with the One who sits upon the throne. No one can circumvent that connection and reach the One who sits upon the throne.

Human beings in their human nature patterns like to imagine that they have their special connections, but there is only One Way, One Truth, One Life, and it relates to identification with Cause—identification individually, in a specific sense, with the reality of one's own angelic nature; in the collective sense, with the Hosts of Heaven who are all already centered in the One who sits upon the throne and already differentiating that One Spirit. Because of this the restoration of man to his true state is made possible. We share this responsibility. It has been said that we need to grow up. That means that we need to accept the angelic identity. Then we know why we are here. There is nothing personal anymore. It is all included in the overall purpose of our presence on earth, and if we need to be a part of one group for a specific purpose and not a part of another group, well that's the way it is, that's what we are here for—and we begin to find out that we actually fit in these configurations. We discover that it is a most fitting state of affairs, a delightful state of affairs, and we see the creative cycles moving and unfolding in all directions, all coordinated by reason of the One Spirit which in differentiated expression is providing what is necessary on earth by which the transformation occurs in human consciousness and mankind is restored.

I am thankful that there may be an increasing awareness of angelic associations and an increasing willingness to let those associations take a specific pattern according to the design of the throne in heaven. That is what we are here to do as angels.

Loosed on Earth Loosed in Heaven—Instantly

Loosed on Earth  Loosed in Heaven

Instantly!

Martin Cecil  April 17, 1981  Assembly

“Whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” So many people seem to sit around waiting for something to be loosed in heaven in their own experience while keeping things bound on earth. Action is needful—one must do something. If one undertakes to loose a bond on earth, to do something that is factual in an external sense, one cannot do that without at the same time having loosed something in heaven. One must have, if nothing else, changed one's mind. If something has been bound and has been kept bound in your own experience—and each person knows where those binding cords are, at least some of them, enough to get busy with a little loosing.

If one undertakes, facing the fact of some bond, to do whatever one has not been doing, so as to loose that bond, by undertaking to do that something is already loosed in heaven—its an instantaneous experience. It's interesting to observe how so many of those who call themselves Emissaries have been inclined to sit around and wait for this supposedly heavenly magic to occur in their own experience, without them ever doing anything about it. But nothing is ever loosed in heaven until the individual deliberately looses it on earth first. And undertaking that deliberate loosing on earth, instantly it is found that it was loosed in heaven. You can recognize certain areas in your own experience where you have taken deliberate action. And what a tremendous sense of freedom immediately puts in an appearance. Of course shortly thereafter, maybe the beast, or the devil, or whoever it is may rear his ugly head and try to convince you that you're not really free in that regard. And you need to see this in relationship to yourself, but also in your handling of others. It seems as though a certain amount of repetition is required to convince anyone that something has really happened. I'm not thinking of the repetition that seems to have been necessary on my part, for instance, in speaking to many people over the years, because that alone hasn't achieved anything. It is only as there have been those who took it to heart and deliberately acted that it has achieved anything. It wasn't achieved by me—it was achieved by the person himself or herself, who actually did something.

We all are well aware that it takes repetition to establish a habit. It seems to take repetition to break a habit too, doesn't it? You decide, should you have been a smoker for instance, to quit smoking. That person who takes this deliberate action, saying, “I'm not going to smoke a cigarette now”—that's the only time he can say it, after all—may be inclined to say: “I've given up smoking.” Well in this present moment, yes. But the bond will reassert itself for certain. And this is so in any field. I merely use that as an illustration. The bond reasserts itself and the deliberate action has to be taken again and again and again, and a habit is established on the right basis. The loosing in heaven becomes the natural state of affairs. Once there is acknowledgment that one is loosed in heaven, one is loose, one is clear, one is in position to experience freedom as it relates to this particular area, whatever it is. Deliberate action in a very down-to-earth and mundane way it might be said.

Of course to know what that deliberate action should be one has to do some thinking—thinking as opposed to rationalizing—because one can always rationalize oneself into not doing anything. “What's the use?” is one of the favourite expressions of the devil. He delights in indifference—lukewarmness—and nothing happens. If a person becomes really active in doing the devil's bidding so to speak, he gets into such trouble because of that that it may be sufficient to cause him to stop and think about what he's doing, and therefore to take some deliberate action to allow a change to come. But of course the person who is more or less indifferent is like a lump of dough without the yeast—and it just sits heavily on the stomach.

We recognize that there isn't anyone who is participating in this recreative process that does not have to experience re-creation. Why should that be so difficult to understand? We, I'm sure, recognize it in relationship to ourselves, and it's true with respect to others. So we are willingly capable of giving space for changes to work out in all. It doesn't matter who it is, this must happen everywhere with all of us. I am sure no one is exempt in this regard, and yet how often there is an expectation with respect to somebody else that they should behave perfectly—I suppose that would be the word. But what would that mean? To conform to one's present ideas of what such behaviour would be? Who really knows? If we do not have the experience of such behaviour ourselves, how could we tell what would be right for somebody else?

So we permit space, and clearly we have all been given space in this regard, by the Lord at least, even though we may have felt at times that somebody else was hemming us in, in some way. It was felt at times by some that I was responsible for hemming people in, that I didn't give them the appointments that they expected to receive. I have never made an appointment yet! So don't blame me if you don't receive any appointment. People appoint themselves. Their capabilities will develop their field of action—their own capabilities, not someone else's. And if the field of action doesn't open according to expectations, well maybe your expectations were wrong anyway. But in addition to that, it involves the extent of your own developed capacity and ability to sound the Tone, because that's what gets the job done.

All things are made by the Word. Well if we don't speak the Word things won't be made by the Word, that's all. And we will feel frustrated or whatever it is. Presumably we’ve all learned how to handle what before may have seemed to be frustrations, not blaming somebody else because they hemmed us in and prevented us from expressing all our marvellous qualities of divinity, but because we hadn't yet learned how to express them ourselves—because that's the only thing that can stop it: the dirty windows that we put in front of the expression of what is already there waiting to come forth.

So we are clearly aware of our own personal responsibility in these matters and we begin to have this larger vision of which we have been speaking together, seeing the whole body of mankind, seeing the whole mind of mankind and the whole heart of mankind as one thing, one thing with which we are ourselves inseparably associated. We can't get out of it, except by dying presumably; then there's no more body to participate in the process. So we are sharing in this larger vision and we begin to see various things that are taking form, various ways by which things are happening. Things need to dissolve with respect to every area in which something begins to come to focus and really move. Are we going to stand in the way or are we going to be right there? And if there were any bonds in our own experience relative to these things are we going to take deliberate action to see that they're disposed of? Because when we do that we'll find freedom coming in heaven. It won't come in heaven before we take that deliberate action.

I would say that our fulfilling of spiritual responsibility, the responsibility that we recognize we carry, has been hindered greatly because there has been a rather resistant attitude toward taking the deliberate action that is required. Of course not so much perhaps these days in this way, but in the past people got involved in some reactionary attitude toward something or other or someone or other, and they would sit down in the muck and mire for weeks waiting for the magic of heaven, to clear their consciousness I suppose, or to clear somebody else out of the way—that was usually the thought—rather than take deliberate action. Because if one is reacting, well, one is reacting. It's me who's doing it, nobody else. So I'm the one then who has to take the deliberate action, and the deliberate action allows the clearing in heaven. The loosing on earth permits the loosing in heaven. The loosing in heaven never comes without the loosing on earth first.

Now we're all presumably candidates for very particular responsibilities of stewardship in the creative process that is working out on earth. We've all been associated with this focus of dominion and control on earth. So we have a responsibility in this regard—many responsibilities if we see it in individual terms. All put together we can take the total responsibility. But in order to be the right person in the right place at the right time there is always the necessity of whatever would lead up to our ability to experience this. The Emissary ministry in an isolated sense has no importance whatsoever. There are hundreds of thousands of cults of all kinds on the face of the earth. Why add any more? That is the self-centered state. But in the development by reason of the loosing of the bonds on earth so that there is a loosing in heaven there comes the awareness that here is a conscious focus for the whole mind of mankind, to provide the direction for mankind in the fulfilment of those purposes for which man is on earth. This awareness has been brought into the picture in various ways. Here is the most vital thing that is happening on earth now. The question is, do we have a vision with respect to all these things? And always there is the factor of human personality getting into the picture which looms so large to some that it obliterates this vast picture, like the penny before the eye.

So we all share in the necessity of loosing on earth those elements that have kept us bound in heaven. The things to be loosed relate to what is happening in the external sense by reason of what is occurring in heaven. And we see our relationship to what is happening, our relationship to the people through whom it is happening, in a particular sense, and we recognize our own relationship to all of that, because we all have specific parts to play. And we see where we are yet bound individually and personally, and we take deliberate action to free it up.

Sometimes that deliberate action takes the form of actually doing something that would be—would have been—against our nature to do in the bound state. Human beings being bound say, “Well this is my nature to be bound, and no one can expect me to go contrary to my nature. I have this attitude and I act and speak and think because of this attitude, and that's natural to me. Nothing could rightly change that.” Well here is where the deliberate action is required, to do something that does change it. I never like to see things become a general policy, shall I say, but if a person—in order to loose their own bonds—needs to do something let him go ahead and do it. That doesn't necessarily involve everybody else. And in any field this is the case, and there is no need to sort of look around to see what somebody else is going to do: “Well I'll do it if so-and-so will do it.” What nonsense. One is aware of one's own bonds. Do something—and it's loosed in heaven. But don't imagine that because you do it once that for eternity it's now loosed in heaven for you, because it is always a thing of the moment.

Of course we do develop right habits as well as wrong ones—the habit of giving expression to the Word of God on earth. And we need to be free to do that. In order to be free in heaven to do that we have to take deliberate action with respect to the way things are in our experience on earth. You see what needs to be done with respect to yourself. That's all I am concerned with because that's what we're here for—to allow something to happen in fact, not in fancy, as has been the usual case! We won't be very effective in opening doors for others to act if we haven't acted ourselves.

"Whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." But by the same token, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall for sure be bound in heaven. The changes that have so often been looked for have been inhibited because of the unwillingness to loose on earth. Each individual necessarily has to look at these things for him-or herself because it is an individual matter. If it's done by all individuals then it becomes a collective matter because of that. But only because of the individual awareness of responsibility. And so I draw this aspect of the matter to your attention as we come to the close of this first week of Assembly morning sessions. What is done here in Assembly is a vital matter as to what shall be done everywhere else. And if we are capable of observing the fact that there are some things that may need to happen elsewhere, we know how to set it in motion.

Sun Substance

Sun  Substance

Journey  To  The  Sun

Uranda   July 2, 1939

Suddenly you realize that distance is no obstacle to the Magic Word, and we draw close to the Sun of our Solar System, and you are thrilled and filled with awe as you contemplate the prospect of our visit to Siomra. But wait! What of those huge flames of fire that come leaping out toward us? Almost fearful, yet not afraid, you watch those flames of livid fire that leap out into space for tens of thousands of miles. You know that if our little world should ever come in reach of such flames of fire as these, the things that man now knows would surely be all burned away.

I assure you that while the flames are burning hot to that which is not of perfect reality, they do not endanger the earth, and all Poisenra is safe enough. I see a question forming in your eyes—no, you are not yet perfect, but so long as you stay within the Magic Word the flames will not touch you, and we will pass right through them—these flames you see are the result of what we may call the physical radiation of pure Sun-Substance.

As the Ascending Substance that is drawn from the various worlds comes within the active orbit of the Sun, the flames reach out to receive it, and there is a chemical change that releases what we may call gaseous substance which immediately appears to burn. This burning produces an actual flame that is far hotter than anything known in man’s world; but from the vibration of ultimate Sun-Substance, that flame feels cool and soothing and is, actually, in its own plane, a heatless flame. The radiation of that flame does not generate heat until it is reflected from the surface of some substance that is lower in vibration than the vibration of Sun-Substance. The human scientist of man’s world, who journeys out into space as far as he can, which is only a few miles at best, finds that the rays from the Sun do not appear as light, nor do they give heat. Those rays must be reflected by the earth’s surface before they appear, and function, as the light and heat which man knows and uses. So it is that you begin to understand the simple facts which have before been hidden in mystery, and the questioning in your eyes begins to fade away.

Next you notice that while I have been explaining these things to you, our Magic Word has been moving, more slowly now, through the flames of the Sun, and as you watch you see those surging flames moving in many directions as they envelop us, and a constant play of colors more vivid and gorgeous than any known in the human world holds your vision entranced. Such colors as these your human eyes have never seen before, but from within yourself you have the deep assurance that your Master-Self is at home here and can read the meaning that is revealed by every changing hue. Soon, out of the seeming confusion of movement and color, you begin to detect a wonderful order and rhythm of change, and as you watch you begin to see deeper and deeper into each passing flame—until you know just how and why it is that human language is all too small and limited to allow more than a hint of that which is to be revealed. Now you see why you have to be inside of the Magic Word before you can understand the glory and the beauty of all these things.

A strange feeling begins to fill you, and you feel every cell of your body becoming more alive. Gradually it begins to dawn on you that you are enfolded in a sea of soft music that lifts you to heights you have never dreamed of before. Yes, you are now hearing the lovely colors which were only seen by you before. As you watch, and listen to, the ever changing colors of these wonderful flames, you begin to realize that the flames themselves are no longer moving—only the colors are moving now! How clearly the lovely music now sounds within your ears! Again I see a question forming, and I answer it before you get it into words—only the tip ends of the flames, which form the outer covering of the Sun, are moving. The deeper layers of the Sun are permanently fixed, created out of Sun-Substance which endures for all eternity; and it never grows old, it is always new! Truly, we are at last moving through the outer boundaries of Siomra!

As your eyes become more accustomed to the light, you begin to realize that you are just beginning to see things that have been there all the time. The seeming development of that which surrounds us has only been a gradual expansion of your vision! That which seemed dim to you a little while ago now stands out with vivid clearness, and you feel as if you were under some great pressure which seems to be pushing you out of yourself. You can no longer think of yourself as that little human being which man’s world has thought you to be. The human part of you has been absorbed into the Being of your Eternal Self—and you are the ONE!

As the unknowingness of your old human consciousness has grown more dim, and has faded away, the knowing of your true reality has filled your whole body. Now you enfold the human part of you inside of yourself, and let it look out through your eyes. As you think of the earth in your little human mind which has now been absorbed inside of you, the earth seems far away—but as you think of the earth in your Eternal Mind, you find that all you need to do is to turn and look, and there it is, almost at your fingertips! But now we are to give our full attention to Siomra, and I see the joy that surges through you as you arrive for a visit in your Ancient Home, where you lived and worked so long ago.

Carrying your human self safely inside of you, your purpose now is to reveal to its human mind, as rapidly as it can receive it, the truths of Creation which you know so well. So it is that you now have your own Magic Word, which you will use while we stay in Siomra. So I now open the door to my Magic Word, and as you step out of it into the atmosphere of our Ancient Home, I draw my Magic Word closely around me as the Garment in which I am clothed. As you thrill to the sights and sounds before you, you draw your own Garment about you, and enfolded in your Magic Word you are dressed in the Robe which you wore in the Ancient Days, and which you see worn on every hand here in this glorious City of Light.

As we step forth upon the Crystal Way, moving naturally into formation, the Welcoming Host begins the Song of Greeting which swells into a glorious refrain which issues forth from the lips of the Wondrous Beings before whom we stand and echoes in rhythmic response from every part of all the created things surrounding us. In recognition and response, we bow low before the welcoming Representative of our great and beloved Lord RaiRa, and deeply do we Rejoice.

Ascending  Substance

Drawn  Toward  The  Sun

Uranda  February 2, 1938

The Descending Flame is as important as the Ascending Flame. In the Creative Process any given substance that is subject thereto is lifted to a Point of Suspension and held in Being on a vibration that is between the Plane from which the substance came, and the Plane to which it is ascending. This is true of the entire Creative Process beginning with the Unformed and carrying through to what we may call Sun-Substance which is the Perfect Positive which does not contain the Negative within itself, but must be used in the Creation of its Negative in order to maintain Universal Balance. This ascension of the Negative to the State of Sun-Substance, with the resulting necessity of further Creative Activity beginning with the Unformed is that which motivates and at the same time balances the so-called evolution of the Universe.

That which is so Suspended is subject to two forces, namely, the Ascending Flame and the Descending Flame. The portion of Suspended Substance which responds to, and allows attunement with, the Ascending Flame is thereby lifted to the next higher Plane, no matter what Plane that may be in the Negative Field, i.e., before it reaches the final state of Sun-Substance, where it becomes a part of the Universal Positive Field. That portion of Suspended Substance which responds to, and allows attunement with, the Descending Flame is thereby carried back to the Plane from which it came before being lifted into such Suspended State. In this world, in the Outer Planes, through man's unwise interference by reason of self-activity of the human consciousness, the State of Balance in such Suspended Substance cannot be maintained until the whole portion has been acted upon, and thereby does the portion of Suspended Substance in such forms as are natural to this world, including that of the human being, become so erratic in action and reaction, and so out of tune with Radiation and Response, that the Life Contact with the entire portion is broken and it is lowered back to the next lower Plane in what is called death—before the natural functions of the Creative Cycles complete action upon the Suspended Substance, bringing the process to fruition without death, as was the case, for instance, with Enoch.

To the degree to which any human being allows his conscious actions and organic functions to be attuned to the Ascending Flame he feels light and easy all through his body, and he experiences perfect health. Contrariwise, attunement of actions and functions to the Descending Flame makes the human being feel heavy and clogged, with all types of ill-health. Here a great secret is seen. The Suspended Substance of the body is rightly Ascending and Descending all the time, but all the actions and functions are supposed to be attuned to the Ascending Flame. Suspended Substance can be attuned to the Descending Flame, and so cast out of the body to return to the soil, without in any way disturbing the whole organism. It is only when the actions and functions of any or all of the Three Planes of human being become attuned to the Descending Flame through human interference that there is trouble.

The state of Sun-Substance, and the Eternal Creation that is established through the formation thereof, cannot be understood in any detail so long as the consciousness is functioning primarily in the Negative Field. However, I would mention that the Body of your Lord within you is made of such Sun-Substance. That which is once formed in the Sun-Substance of the Positive Field is the only true solid, and it is Eternal and absolutely indestructible. In the Sun of our Solar System man can gain some faint understanding of these things.

The Sun, as is true of all Sun-Substance, is Purely Positive; and its radiations in the high vibrations appear as fire when they touch the responding substance of a certain vibration which is being drawn in toward the Sun from all parts of the Solar System. It is evident that the radiations of which I speak could not be seen by any means devised by man; but man can see something of the result when those radiations act upon substance that is still within the Negative Field. To scientists and astronomers this responding substance is classified as gaseous, which is a part-truth. Only when it comes within a certain Field of Radiance, does the resulting action and reaction become observable by man. It is not necessary to go into this matter further at this time; other than to point out that all the functions of the Sun are under set and absolute Laws, and are governed by God Beings who are completely beyond the possible comprehension of man in the mortal state.
