So often human beings seem to imagine that they can somehow individually respond to something vague and ambiguous in some high heaven or some other sphere, and that is all that is needed. It isn't, because until there is a form on earth which corresponds with the form in heaven, that which is in heaven cannot manifest on earth, and the will of God cannot be done on earth except as the beings on earth conform with the patterns which are established with respect to the Beings in heaven.

The Master instructed that we should pray, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [in exactly the same manner] it is in heaven.” The manifestation of the inner, then, through the outer is important. It is not that the outer should somehow get up to the inner. Many human beings have been side-tracked into various delusions which make it seem important that either man as such, or some spirit of man, should get out of earth into some heaven or other and do some growing or developing, that that was the goal somehow. No, it isn't true. The goal is for the invisible realm of heaven to have a means of manifestation here on earth, here and now—not for us to get out of the earth into some heaven, but for heaven to come into the earth and express through the forms of our bodies, our circumstances, our patterns of life.

When we recognize that there must be an organization from the standpoint of the God Beings, or angels in heaven, that there is a coordination, a harmony, a purpose, a design—and we recognize that God's will is done in heaven, that the Divine Pattern is fulfilled there, within the scope of that arrangement, and it is to be exactly the same on earth—then that same design, that same pattern, must be meaningful in relationship to our lives. We cannot hope to accomplish something without the machinery of accomplishment. It is utterly unreasonable to think that scattered human beings, disorganized, without coordination and centering and unification, can do something which the angels of heaven cannot do on any such basis. If it is to be done here we must do it on exactly the same basis as that which holds in the inner realm, or heaven. And that means organization. That means that, as there is a head in heaven, there must be a manifestation of that head and form in earth.

If there is to be a body there must be all the members of the body. If you have a complete physical body, in the sense of physical anatomy, and you have never had any of it cut away, you presumably have two feet, two arms, two ears, two eyes, two nostrils and a mouth, and all of these things are essential. You would not want to part with any member of your body if it could be helped. If it meant the loss of the whole body, better to part with a member than to have the whole body lost. But the normal design of the body is this, and all the members are important to the body as a whole. That body is not just a torso with legs and arms. It includes the head. The head makes the body meaningful; the body makes the head meaningful. Either one without the other is no good. In the head we have the various means of perception, seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, even touch or feeling, although that extends to the rest of the body also.

If this inner design is to manifest on earth according to the Plan of God we must have a body of many members, coordinated, centered. There must be the form of the head, as well as of the torso. And the Divine Design for man as an individual is the same as the Divine Design for man as humanity. With respect to man we have the record: “Let us”—note the plural—“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness,” and it was done. The plural is an absolute necessity in this particular statement from the Divine record, and it is the plural which is the reality in you, the plural of the members, of the parts, individually or collectively. And that design which is used in you as a human being, individually, carries the same principles as are used in the development of the body of humanity, as that body is drawn into the form, the pattern, the design, which God intended.

Emerging Focalizations in the Sanctuary

At the home of Rev. William Oshanek. Those present were: Kathy Meeker, Rose Forker, Grace van Duzen, Lillian Call, Mildred and Robert Patton, Richard and Dorothy Thompson, Billie and Vernon Fahey, Roz and Ralph Hooper, Bertha Meyer, Fern Meeker, William and Muriel Oshanek.

The purpose for which we are gathered here tonight is to take another step forward in letting the reality of the One Christ Body be made more truly manifest. In this it is needful that we should begin to develop an awareness of what I have often called the Machinery of Reality. I have called you here tonight because you carry key positions in the formation of the Body whereby we are to let the Spirit of the Living Christ find manifestation on earth. In order that such things may be, there must be control. What do we mean by that word control? It is not that, by some arbitrary or dictatorial method, human beings should be controlled, regardless of their own wills or choices. Control, in the outer worldly sense, does not convey a true meaning of what we mean or wish to convey. Control results from correct polarity in obedience to the Law, and from agreement in the Mind that was in Christ Jesus, as we let the Fire of God’s Love work through the Patterns of Truth, in the accomplishment of His Will on earth.

This to me is a most solemn occasion, and as we let the Spirit of God control, we shall find that all of life's richest joys and blessings are increased and made more beautiful in the Currents of Control. In our present expression of Ministry on earth you represent the Primary Focalizations in the Unit by reason of which Control becomes a reality. The force that is of God is abundantly available, but that force cannot become, in actual manifestation here on earth, the Power of God except as human beings let that force find expression through themselves in controlled activity. In introducing our consideration for the evening, I thought to read four paragraphs from the current mailing,  copies of which are available to you at the main Ranch House [greatcosmicstory.blogspot.com/2019/02/hold-vibration-and-radiation-steady.html]:

“Our problem as a Unit, as you all recognize from previous Services, is in finding in actualized realization the point of true agreement, physically, mentally and spiritually, through that Mind that was in Christ Jesus. Our activities in the material, or physical, plane provide the greatest opportunity for observing the effectiveness of our movement toward agreement; our activities in the mental plane, our thoughts and our words, play their part in the seen and the unseen realms of our Unit function; and the Spiritual Expression phase of our manifest trinity should be functioning on both the seen and the unseen Planes of Being with much more meaning than it is.

“The Spiritual Expression plane should manifest as a Spirit of Gentle Benediction over all, which is above and beyond those things that tend to produce petty reactions, bickerings and inharmonies. That Spiritual Expression Plane of our trinity of manifestation should be as a halo, as a Glow of Heavenly Light that rests benignly over and around each Member of this Unit, and all that we think and say and do.

“We have talked about the future, knowing unworthiness, or the limitation of the expression of God’s Power through us, knowing that it could not yet be in the state in which we found ourselves; we have talked of the Greater Works in the futuristic sense. Blessed Ones, that must not remain futuristic forever. If it be always tomorrow—and tomorrow never comes—there will come a day, surely, that will not be tomorrow, when we will have to face and answer the query of our KING. God forbid that we should come to that day empty-handed. We are not playing child's games, and we are not experimenting with the whimsical fancies of the human mind. We are here to perform a specific task under the Decree and Commission of the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings Himself. The Greatest Calling that could be granted to any human being has come to you, the greatest opportunity, the greatest privilege, the greatest responsibility. Do we live and move and have our being in a consciousness of that great fact? Does that fact of reality that IS permeate our feelings, our thoughts, our attitudes, and consequently our words and our deeds?

“The LORD of Lords Himself came into the earth to intercede for humanity, ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’ He interceded for you, and when the day came that the world crucified Him and the intercessory work had to pass to the hand of another, there was not a break; and intercession has continued—and you are called to be Branches of the One Vine, Members of the One Body, the Manifest Form through which the intercessory work may begin in the Great Judgment. The final judgment and the work of executing the judgments, cannot be carried on, no matter how just the judgments, no matter how inevitable the results, except there be an intercessor who is worthy of the name. How much longer are we going to compel our KING to wait?—for that in essence is what it is. While we bicker in our human minds, and question as to how far we will let go, and excuse ourselves, and stand as accusers one of another—while we do all of these foolish, childish things, we make our KING wait, and wait, and wait some more. He has waited long enough. In this year of our LORD, one thousand nine hundred forty-nine, let us cease forcing our KING to wait, and begin, as One, to wait on Him, to let His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, that all the world may come to know that His is the Kingdom and the Glory and the Power forever. Since the Power IS His, the Power cannot manifest through this Unit until this Unit IS His—not becoming His, not hoping to be His, but IS His, because it has let go in True Love Response to Him and has allowed His Spirit to be revealed, so that the Spiritual Expression manifest through this Unit shall be a Heavenly Benediction, carrying the atmosphere of the Divine into the earth—benign, serene, unmoved by the storms in the world, and so that the mental function in thought and word may reveal the One Mind, the Mind that was in Christ Jesus, and so that the acts may be a true revelation of Faith; for ‘Faith without works is dead.’ Let us be ‘Doers of the Word, and not hearers only.’ Let us not be like those individuals who have such a vast difference between what they think they do and what they do do.”

In time past, to varying degrees at various times, I have talked to you somewhat concerning the formation of the Body, the reality of the Unit. I have pointed out for instance that in a personal sense I am not a Member of that Body, and that the Head of the Body in reality is centered in manifest form, and that the formation of the Head and of the Body as a Whole is being built and brought into manifestation around that Central Point. That which, in this sense, is the beginning formation of the Head, I have called the Nucleus, and the beginning formation of the Body as a Whole I have called the Unit.

Long ago the word of Wisdom was expressed: “Man, know thyself.” Only to the degree that you know and understand yourself can you know and understand others. Only to the degree that the Unit understands itself can the Unit understand those to whom it is to Minister, and only to the degree that it understands itself can it understand the expression of the Will of the Father made manifest through it. We remember that, with the individual, the true or correct function of the body is not controlled or dictated by the head. So, also, with the Unit, the Nucleus does not, and is not intended to, control or dictate the function of the Body. The control of the whole Body, which includes the Head, is supposed to rest in the Father. The purpose of the Unit is to let the Spirit of the Living Christ find incarnate expression, that is, to have a means, or a Body, through which to manifest on earth. Only to the degree that there is purity of heart and mind can there be a realization of the actuality of the Spirit. It is at this point that we begin to touch upon the Service that is ordained with respect to the Little Chapel. Our gathering here tonight relates to that Service through the Little Chapel.

Last evening, six of you who are here now, gathered with me in Kathy’s and my room, to set up the initial cycle or to make a starting vibration with respect to the Ministry through the Little Chapel. There was a beginning with respect to realization and the actuality of function in the Creative Work of God on earth. There was the beginning of the realization of a deeper meaning that is to be found in the word Spirit. The Spirit of the Living Christ is One Spirit. It was, and is, the Spirit that found manifestation through Jesus Christ, our LORD when He walked on earth, and it is the Spirit of His Being now as He reigns LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, Supreme Ruler of the Whole Holy World. It is that Spirit which must manifest through this Unit if the Unit is to be an Expression of the reality that IS. It is needful that the Unit should understand itself, that each Focalization should begin to understand that which is in fact focalized.

This Unit could never have meaning if its outer form had been developed merely by making arbitrary appointments, putting such and such a person here, and such and such a person there, and saying, “This is your position or your office”, according to the organizations of the world. The formation of this Unit has evolved by reason of the actuality of that which is focalized through the individuals involved, not because I told them to fill such and such a place, but because, as we have functioned together in the Name of our KING, there has been, perhaps gradually but nevertheless surely, the actual evolving of a specific focalization in each one here.

As we realize this, and recognize that what we consider here is sacred to the Service of the Temple not made with hands, that actually we have gathered as in a Sanctuary, there will begin to be a new attitude, a new feeling, a new recognition. We are not to be here as human beings; we are to be here as aspects or phases of the Spirit of the Living Christ made manifest in and through the forms of human beings. As each one reaches a point of being sufficiently impersonal with respect to the human manifestation, so that each can let the Divine Personality manifest, it will be recognized that our Ministry in the Sanctuary is not the expression of human beings, but that it is the expression of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Living Christ made manifest in its various phases through human beings. The Spirit is One Spirit, and because it is One Spirit, and it permeates all Members of the Unit, the Unit becomes in truth One Body; but that One Spirit is infinite in its scope of expression. If every man, woman and child upon the face of the earth were completely dedicated in purity of heart and mind to the expression of the Spirit, and if all were therein obedient to the Will of God, and if all the creatures of the earth and all things whatsoever were fully under the Dominion of the One Spirit, then it might be said that the various phases of the One Spirit have adequate expression and adequate release in this world. The world is as it is because it has not allowed the expression of the One Spirit to have meaning.

The focalizations of the Unit here gathered cannot possibly allow the complete and full manifestation of the One Spirit in all of its differentiated phases, but this Unit of Focalizations can allow the primary phases of the Spirit to find expression in a manner that allows the beginning of the Creative Work of God to become a reality on earth, that the control of the Spirit may begin to have meaning, and dominion may thereby become a fact. Tonight I am undertaking to assist you, as a Group, into a new level of understanding. In so doing, I place in you a great trust, a trust that you will have an understanding spirit in your attitude toward that which is expressed, and toward the various phases which are considered within the scope of the Unit, a recognition of that which is pure and holy and sacred, of that which allows us to draw near before the Throne of God, of that which allows us to let the living, vibrant expression of the Spirit of the Living Christ find manifestation in our lives. In such function there is an increased current of the Power of God made manifest, and there comes with that increased current the increased necessity to hold true to the polarities of Being; for if the Polarities waver and the current is allowed to dissipate, the pressure resulting from world reaction can become very uncomfortable; and if it were the result of too much reaction it could become dangerous. It is essential that we keep the currents of the Spirit moving through constructive channels in a realization of the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Now I wish to read to you, on this vibration, from the Book of Revelation. There are Seven Personages indicated here which play a part, and we will consider the first five Personages:

The First Personage is the woman, the whole body of what the world recognizes as Christianity, those who have, to the best of their knowledge and ability, in sincerity, undertaken to serve our LORD and KING:

“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.”

Then, the Second Personage, satan or the devil, or the manifestation of man's greatness according to his own self-active mind, lacking the control which would result from submission to the Will of God:

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven”—this is that cycle of man-made achievement—“And behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”

This is the Third Personage, the Child, the Christ Body, or the expression of the Christ through the Christ Body:

“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.”

Then, the Fourth Personage, the Archangel: “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels.”

We have these two manifestations in Heaven, that is, the Spiritual Consciousness of humanity. Heaven here means the Spiritual Consciousness of humanity, the highest and the best that human beings know. We have, on the one hand, the woman, and on the other hand the great red dragon; on the one hand the Spiritual achievements made manifest through those who have sought to follow Jesus Christ, and on the other those who have achieved great things according to world standards in following after the dictates of the human mind. So, both of these Wonders are in Heaven, the Spiritual Consciousness of humanity, that which is the highest and best that is seen and known by humanity. That is what is called Heaven.

The Fourth Personage is the Archangel Michael

“There was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser, of our brethren is cast down, which, accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony: and they loved not their lives unto the death.

“Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea; for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

“And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

“And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

Now, here is the Fifth Personage: the Seed of the Woman. By reason of the fact of Christianity in the world, something comes forth. This fifth personage is that which you are—“The remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ,” that Unit through which the Power of the Christ is made manifest.

Here, in these words in the Twelfth Chapter of Revelation, in brief we have the whole outline of that which has been at work in our coming to this hour, and it emphasizes the necessity of right polarity; for as the devil is cast out of Heaven into the earth, it is said, “Rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea, for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

We are engaged in the beginning of that War in Heaven now. That war has been  taking place in the Heaven of your own consciousness. The devil, the self-active expression of being, has been, I trust, thoroughly cast out of your Heaven, so that you may be those Angels serving with Michael, and so that you may be the true manifestation of the Seed of the Woman, through which the Christ expression is again made manifest on earth. This is that to which we are called, and it is only in the fulness of dedication in Love to our LORD and KING that we can truly share in His Victory. It is that we may understand that to which we are called, and that Body through which His Spirit may manifest in accomplishing His Will on earth, that we are gathered here tonight.

This may be the little wheel by which the power is transmitted to the larger wheel, so that the larger wheel may move and transmit the power to the larger, until, wheels within wheels, the Power of God is operating in and through the whole of the Machinery of Reality on earth, and that which is His Will is done because His Dominion is restored and His Will controls in the expression of the New Heaven and the New Earth wherein dwelleth Righteousness. I trust that, step by step without undue delay, we can move forward in bringing about a clear realization of the focus that you carry in the Unit. But that focus must be something that is of you, not that I am to appoint you to something, but rather that I wish to help you to understand that something that IS in yourselves, that you may see it and understand it for what it is, that you may function with and in a greater understanding of your fellow Members of the Unit.

We have had delays enough. The great necessity is for us to move forward effectively, doing something. I praise God for the doing that is manifesting through you. I would like to see, as we move forward, a greater cohesiveness of function, a more vibrant manifestation. There has been progress all along the line in this. I sincerely trust that, because you are here tonight, there is no development of any self-righteous spirit or attitude with respect to those who are not here. Let us remember not to judge, but let us utilize that which is at hand, that which is possible within the range of our function, to be doing in the Spirit of the Living Christ, and as we continue, this field of form shall surely become vibrantly alive, and the things needful in manifestation shall appear. Let us let this focus of the Unit here tonight become, through agreement in the Mind that was in Christ Jesus, through right function and right polarity, the controlling force by which all the others shall be helped in whatsoever way may be needful, that all may share the reality of membership in the Unit, and that each one may be a means by which some certain phase or aspect of the One Spirit may manifest effectively on earth, to the Glory of God and to the Blessing of the children of men. The Blessing of God is upon you as you abide in Love Response to Him.

The Spiritual Point Of Orientation

The  Spiritual  Point  Of  Orientation

Distrust is evident, even rampant, the world around between individual human beings, between groups of people, certainly between nations, coming to a particular climax in the inability to communicate. There is one element which maintains the state where communication in any true sense is virtually impossible, where distrust is inevitable—that missing factor is an accepted point of spiritual orientation. This morning we were aware of the creative triangle putting in an appearance within the range of our own experience. There was a line drawn upon the earth; there was an apex to that base established in the heaven. This had meaning and was indeed a reality because those at each end of the base, the line drawn upon the earth, recognized and accepted the apex point of spiritual orientation. The consequence of that was peace on earth, insofar as those who were present each end of the base line were concerned. Communication was easy and natural, but only because of the apex point of spiritual orientation.

It is clear enough that there is no mutual point of spiritual orientation, therefore agreement is impossible and meaningful communication is impossible insofar as the human state of affairs is concerned. There has been the endeavor to make the world work without an apex point of spiritual orientation. This was what was lost at the point of what has been called the fall. Human beings decided that they could get along, quite well thank you, without any mutual point of spiritual orientation. This has been the case all down through such history as we know, to this very hour, and while there have been attempts to provide some sort of point which would be an apex in which the nations could trust, it has never been achieved, because this point was set up by human beings themselves. The true point of orientation is not set up by human beings. It is already a reality; it is already there. It has been most thoroughly denied in a practical sense, and so there is division, discord and conflict—it’s bound to be that way.

We have experienced a certain amount of division, discord and conflict even within what we speak of as the emissary family. We could say that there has been less of that than is usual in family situations, but it has been there nevertheless, and it has been there just to the extent that there was a failure to acknowledge a mutual point of spiritual orientation. It’s more than mental acknowledgment that is required; those who are associated with the emissary ministry very shortly made some sort of a mental acknowledgment that there was a point of spiritual orientation. Not everybody did this, and some challenged that point from time to time, which was all right. Anybody can challenge, but it doesn’t do any good in the end if there is a true point of spiritual orientation present. One of the things that was done in the human world was to try to set up something of this nature, associated with the human idea of God, through the original Christian church—the attempt was made in other ways in other religions also. But this view required someone, the pope in this instance, to provide a supposedly spiritual point of orientation for everybody. Evidently human beings in general thought they could get away with that by claiming that here was something that provided orientation in God, but factually it did not. It was a human invention. Christianity itself is a human invention.

The One who came and revealed the way, the truth and the life in His own expression did not come in order to set up a religion. He came to provide, initially at least, a manifest point of spiritual orientation for everyone. That had to start where He was, with those who were present next to Him; and this was done. The provision was made insofar as He was concerned but was not adequately acknowledged, beyond some mental acceptance, on the part of other people. If it had been acknowledged in the true sense we wouldn’t have had these two thousand years of tribulation since—but it wasn’t. So we are here now in this situation, which is consequent upon the fact that that initial point of spiritual orientation was denied, and in manifest form eliminated. The net result was that there was no spiritual point of orientation anymore on earth. Evidently the disciples endeavored to pick up the pieces, but they still found themselves incapable of providing a unified point of spiritual orientation. It wasn’t long before they were all at sixes and sevens with each other—the common human habit. So someone along the way later thought up the idea of establishing a church and a religion which would indeed be universal—but it was humanly invented and humanly set up, based in earthly heredity, the heredity that came down from the disciples. It came out of the past, in other words. Some may have claimed that it originated with Jesus—some of it did perhaps—but if something is oriented in the past it’s not real.

Your spiritual orientation is always of the present. There is no valid spiritual orientation which can be gleaned out of the past. It must be in the present—it’s the only time that spirit is present after all. It’s present now. It’s present in this now. It may have been present in that now, but that now is not this now. So it must be in this now. We recognize this and acknowledge the necessity of spiritual orientation now. We ourselves recognize that necessity, and over the years there has been the development of a certain trust in what was made available in this regard. The trust has been sufficient to allow for the experience of friendship which we now have, not only between you and me but between all of us.

Spiritual orientation is the one ingredient that is essential to peace on earth. “Peace on earth, goodwill to men.” But how? Well, “Glory to God in the highest.” We know that. Glory to God in the highest. In other words there is a high point, a spiritual point, which only has meaning when it is in expression within the range of our experience. There always has been a spiritual high point, obviously so, and people have tried to worship that high point somehow by seeing it above, wherever “above” is; but everybody had a different idea about it. It only begins to become real when it is in expression within the range of human experience. It was real by reason of Jesus. That reality has been at work within the range of human consciousness ever since, at work subconsciously—because the conscious ideas that people had about it were for the birds! It’s a good way of describing what has happened with all the mishmash of Christian doctrine, humanly invented. We would say, “Forget it!” Well most people can’t forget it, at least not right away, because it’s built into their very genes. But gradually there needs to be a relinquishment, and we have found this to be occurring in ourselves. It’s not merely a Christian thing either. It relates to all human beings everywhere. Everybody has so much to relinquish, and nobody is going to do it in one fell swoop.

It may be done to the extent that there is factually present a spiritual point of orientation which would always prove itself out as to whether it was trustworthy or not. From the standpoint of what has been occurring in our own program it has taken fifty years for the spiritual point of orientation to be sufficiently accepted as being trustworthy, that there might be orientation ever more fully in it. There are those who think of that in terms of orientation in a person. It isn’t orientation in a person, it’s orientation in the truth—but there must be a person on hand who reveals that truth. If there is no person on hand to reveal that truth, nobody can orient to the truth; the truth remains unknown. This is the way it works. From our standpoint I didn’t set it up that way, you didn’t set it up that way, but that’s the way it works. There needs to be an acknowledgment of the way it works in our own experience.

It doesn’t relate merely to one person. It relates to what it is that is being born on earth through many. What is being born is a spiritual point of orientation to which there may be an increasing evidence of acknowledgment and acceptance. The acknowledgment and acceptance is of the spiritual point of orientation. The spiritual point of orientation is far more than one person. But it was rejected then, and there has been an endeavor to pick up the pieces since. It can’t be done, because the orientation must always be in the present moment. Now is the appointed time. This is the present moment for us. It isn't next week; it wasn’t last week. It’s right now! And the spiritual point of orientation is present right now. We have some experience of this, some association with it, some fusion with it. There certainly is no fusion with it unless there is trust. Well no one is expected immediately to provide blind trust. There has to be sufficient divesting of self-centered motivations to reach a point where there may be a beginning recognition of the reality of the truth that is present. Only when there is that awareness beginning to flood the person’s consciousness is there a base for trust. It isn’t trust in a concept, it isn’t belief in some manifest idol; it is an awareness of the spirit of truth. It is our awareness of the spirit of truth that has allowed us to associate ourselves with that spirit and consequently to provide a means for its expression. The spirit of truth is not so niggardly that it can only appear through one person. Human beings were designed to accommodate the spirit of truth—all of them.

As this point of spiritual orientation puts in an appearance and a line is drawn upon the earth—there is agreement on earth. Immediately there is a basis of communication and agreement, which is totally lacking when those concerned are trying to make it work on this horizontal plane with just a base—there isn’t anything there. There must be an apex. In this sense there must be three points. There must be a common point of mutual acceptance. That common point is not some arbitrarily established dictatorship; human beings have tried this out over and over again; it doesn’t work. It is a spiritual point of orientation. For human beings who are merely on the base, it’s an invisible point of orientation; but it only begins to work when that invisible point takes form. Then there’s no excuse for anyone actually, even though most do not realize it to start with. It might be said, “You either orient in the truth or else!” Well that’s the fact of the matter, but we wouldn’t put it quite that blatantly to start with. We have known that is the fact of the matter for ourselves. If we don’t let it happen in us, that’s it insofar as we are concerned; we’re through! Unless it happens in the world, the world is through. But it can only happen when there is this manifest point of spiritual orientation actually present—when that is a fact. We have noted this and we have offered ourselves to provide the facility by which this may be present.

Someone has to do it. Who is going to do it? Only those who begin to awaken to the fact that this is what is necessary. Would you expect the pope to do it, for instance, or the Vatican?—expanding it a little. I am sure you are aware that there are things going on there that are not exactly the evidence of a spiritual point of orientation. One might say the same thing with respect to ourselves. There are things going on in our family which are not a revelation of the fact of a spiritual point of orientation in which everybody can trust—but I suppose you could also say this is the best we have. We can’t write it off because there are things of that nature still present. We have a certain amount of trust in the spirit of truth, do we not?

The spirit of truth calls all things to remembrance and allows for the purifying of the waters of human consciousness, the waters which symbolize the substance of consciousness, both at the level of self-consciousness and below that level. The purification is needed. A centering in the spirit of truth makes that possible. As this purification occurs, so that there begins to be something stable and factually trustworthy, then it is safe to allow an intensification of fire. The fire is the next step, isn’t it? The fire isn’t safe—it’s destructive—unless there is the stable point of orientation provided by the spirit of truth. If that is not there, then the fire is destructive, and we can envision it quite easily in terms of thermonuclear war—fire is then destructive. Even that possibility does not indicate that everything is not still under control.

The truth works. It’s human beings who get in the way of that working, and either stop getting in the way or find themselves being eliminated. All useless things are ultimately eliminated, and if mankind becomes a completely useless thing then it’s right and proper that it should be eliminated. We do not see this as something separate from our own human experience—we’re part of that too. We need to reach a point where we are quite willing that that should be so. We find ourselves being eliminated somewhere along the way in the human sense anyhow. Why not let it all come with a big bang then, get it over with? One needs to be open to that, so that there is no resistance to it—it may be just what is needed, so don’t resist it. Because you don’t resist it you begin to find, as we have found, that there is something present which cannot be eliminated. We could call that the truth, and if in our own experience that composes our identity, then it may be said that we cannot be eliminated. Human forms come and go, but there is something beyond that, which we have been speaking of as the truth.

We are here to let the truth be present so that it may be apparent in form, providing this point of spiritual orientation for all who will receive it. There are those who are receiving it. We couldn’t have had the line drawn upon the earth if there were not those who were receiving it; and because they are receiving it the evidence of agreement is there, the evidence of peace on earth to this extent. This is the way it works. So we have the responsibility of providing this trustworthy, stable point of orientation consistently, now and in all the nows to come. Doing that, we discover that the design of things reveals itself. Here is the base of the creative triangle. Nobody thought it all out—what all the great significance of it would be—but it has significance if it emerges by reason of this spiritual point of orientation. Without that, there is nothing. This has become quite apparent to us, so that we are very much concerned to allow this point to be a reality. We are not really interested in ending up with nothing. I personally would not like to have to accept the fact that I have lived a life of seventy years or so and ended up with nothing. Are any of you interested in that? Let’s have something, for a change. So we share the truth and the spiritual point of orientation. Without that there is nothing; but with that there is something, and that something becomes apparent—the design becomes increasingly apparent.

There are points along the base all over the place who mutually accept the spiritual point of orientation. It’s an interesting thing that those who compose the points of the base are the ones who also provide the spiritual point of the apex, because the triangle is one thing—it’s not three separate points with lines in between—it is one living manifest organism, and all concerned are in position to provide what is necessary at the three points. We are interested in letting more people provide what is necessary at those three points. We are not anxious to have it all to ourselves; it wouldn’t work anyway. Let it emerge. Let it be born increasingly. It will be, not because human beings rally around and say, “Let’s let it be born,” but because they can’t prevent it. And these things are happening very often in spite of us rather than because of us. I think we are accepting “because of us” a little more—we are not standing in the way quite so much. We are more willing to let it happen, let it come.

Once there is this spiritual point of orientation, let it come! Let’s balance the books. Let’s let it wind itself up as speedily as possible—a very painful business right now everywhere, isn’t it? Let’s get it over with because we provide that spiritual point of orientation. And it is done in our living moment by moment by moment; that is the only place we can do it. It doesn’t matter what our circumstances are, that’s where we do it. The only circumstances we have are the ones that are there; no use dreaming about better ones. What would better ones be anyway? No, what happens happens now, the way things are now; and we are willing, surely, to let it happen now, so we would at last gain some modicum of common sense. Sharing this, the world has opportunity to find orientation. Human beings everywhere, whether consciously or unconsciously, have the opportunity to find that orientation. We may observe that it is happening in various ways and there are those who are moving with it. Sometimes a person who moves with it thinks he has great ideas and he’s doing this and doing that and things are really rolling. That’s not what’s happening in fact; it’s just that person’s interpretation of things. But there is something underneath moving, moving, moving, and human beings are carried along with it. To the extent that they are too heavily laden they sink.

Associating ourselves with that fluid movement, all things work together to perfection because there are those present providing the spiritual point of stable orientation, those who are in fact trustworthy. Whether they are trusted or not is another question of course, but there need to be those who can be trusted so that it is possible for somebody to trust. We can look in the mirror, look in the jadestone a little, and see to what extent we are really trustworthy.
