The Mystic Twelvefold Pathway relates to the physical plane of being. The Twelve Cosmic Rays, sometimes spoken of as zodiacal influences, form the directing urges by which mankind functions on the physical plane. Only one of these twelve Cosmic Rays is dominant in any one individual, but all of them are operative in every individual. 

The points of contact within the body through which the twelve Cosmic Rays are enabled to transmit life to the body are the twelve Organic Minerals found in the body substance. 

There is a Tree of Life on every plane of being. The twelve fruits of the Tree of Life on the physical plane are the twelve body minerals. All twelve of these minerals are required by the body to maintain health. Physical Health must be attained before the body can respond harmoniously to the Twelve Cosmic Rays. When the proper balance is established in the body, the individual will find that the Mystic Twelvefold Pathway becomes clear to him, and he is filled with peace and joy. When this balance of the body Minerals is lacking, the individual finds that life is confusing, his perception is darkened, and he is filled with fear and sorrow. 

Before mastery can be attained the individual must eat of the twelve monthly fruits of the Tree of Life on each of the three planes upon which he functions. The first step in this direction is to begin eating of the twelve fruits of the Tree of Life on the physical plane. To do this, each one must supply his body with a daily diet which contains all of the body minerals. While the daily diet must contain all of the minerals in organic form (i.e., the form in which these minerals exist in the vegetable kingdom as found in vegetables, fruits, and nuts), each of the minerals should receive special attention during the time its own Cosmic Ray is dominant. For the duration of the dominant influence of each Cosmic Ray the specific mineral which forms its point of receptivity is most easily assimilated. The individual should also give special attention to the mineral which forms the receptive point for the specific Cosmic Ray under which he was born. The following table will guide you in making practical application of these facts. 

The Laws of Life by which the body is maintained in health are very important to all who would enter mastership. The Inner Soul of each individual is a Master now.  In order for that mastership to manifest in the material world, the physical body and the carnal mind must be harmonized with the Laws of Life in a way that will make them perfect channels through which the Inner Mastership may appear in the outer man. 

Those who ignore the physical body, and the laws of its well-being, show that they do not fully understand the Way which leads to perfection. The perfection of the Inner Soul cannot manifest through an imperfect channel. As long as the outer man dictates the activities of the individual, the Soul within is kept hidden from the world. 

The keys to the Mystic Twelvefold Pathway have been given to you. As you eat of the fruit of the Tree of Life freely, you will find that new wisdom is given unto you. As you bring your body minerals into a state of balance, they will form a coordinated magnet which will draw the full force of the twelve Cosmic Rays into your life. When the magnets (minerals) in the body are out of balance, they cause the power of the Cosmic Rays to be released in the body in an unbalanced form, and trouble of various kinds results. The power of the twelve Cosmic Rays is perfect, but you must establish a perfect connection with them before that power can manifest perfectly through you. The degree of uplifting power you receive depends entirely upon the degree of balance and harmony that exists between your magnets. When one or more of your magnets is lacking, you fail to receive the vitalizing force of one or more of the Cosmic Rays. Such a condition prevents the attainment of mastery. 

This gives you an understanding of the reason why the organic minerals are so important to you. The nearer you come to the ideal diet of simple, natural foods, the more certain will your progress be. Vegetables, fruits and nuts form the ideal foods for man. We do not have space in these lessons to go deeply into a study of foods, but a few words will not be out of place. To get life, you must eat life. When you eat death, you increase death within yourself. You would not think of eating a dead vegetable or a dead fruit. Vegetables, fruits and nuts are not dead until they spoil or rot. Yet people expect to progress on the Way of Life by eating dead flesh. Flesh is not necessary to strength and endurance, as witnessed by the horse, the elephant, and many other animals. Flesh-eating animals have a very short intestine, and experience frequent elimination. Man has a long intestine for the digestion and assimilation of foods from the vegetable kingdom, and normally his intestines eliminate only three times a day. 

If you were an artist you would not combine colors that clash. If you wish to be an artist, painting the glorious beauties of life for others to see reflected from the canvas of your body, you must take care not to combine foods that clash. Foods rich in carbohydrates (starches and sugars) should not be combined at the same meal with foods rich in protein. Fruits, and especially citrus fruits, should not be combined at the same meal with foods rich in carbohydrates. Here is a suggestion: Eat nothing but fruits—as many kinds as you want, as much as you want, and as often as you want—before noon. For the mid-day meal, eat your protein with a salad. In the evening eat whatever carbohydrate foods you feel you need, with plenty of fresh vegetables. Drink fruit juice instead of water as much as you can. Above all, avoid a "food consciousness," and rejoice in the foods of the region in which you live, partaking of them in season. 

The process by which the body atoms are transformed is called Spiritualization. From this have sprung all the legends and myths about Mystic Alchemy. The mythical stories about a mystic means by which base metals might be turned to gold, are based on the fact that through the influences of the Cosmic Rays the base substance of the flesh (i.e., base minerals of the body) is transmuted into the gold of the Soul. This same process is symbolized in the parable through the idea that the pearls were transformed by the pure auras of those who wore them. 

The body atoms are transformed by the aura of the Soul within the body. The aura of the person is the aura of the Soul after it has passed through the coloring of the body and mind, just as the light in the room is the light of the pure white globe after it has passed through the surrounding shade and has been colored thereby. 

Before the aura of the Soul can have any worthwhile influence on the body, the body must be attuned to the Spiritual Radiations, just as a radio must be attuned to a certain broadcasting station before the program from that station can be received. The Twelve Cosmic Rays, functioning through the twelve body minerals, form the negative pole of the Spiritualization Field within the body, and the auric radiations of the Soul form the positive pole of the Spiritualization Field. The whole process is based upon the same fundamental principles which man has utilized in electrical appliances. The positive and negative poles must be balanced in the electric motor before the motor will run properly and deliver power. In this sense the body may be likened to the electric motor. However, the Spiritualization Process employs principles which man has not yet discovered. The Spiritualization Field corresponds to a degree with the magnetic field of electrical science, for the same principles, and more, are operative therein. 

The next few lessons will be devoted to an outline of the vibrations which allow Spiritual Transmutation. For this lesson we have given enough to show the importance of bringing the body minerals into a normal state of balance, so that the Cosmic Rays can operate through the body and establish the negative pole which will allow the Spiritualization Process to begin. Spiritualization is automatic when you have harmonized the negative pole in your body with the positive pole of the Soul within, just as the operation of the electric motor is automatic after it has been properly wired and the current has been turned on. All you have to do is keep your thoughts and actions from cutting the ground wire. Your degree of mastership depends upon the degree of efficiency with which your body and mind respond to the Spiritualization Process, and this response is the result of Love for the Lord. 

As we proceed with a study of the mind, you will be still more deeply impressed with the fact that perfect balance and harmony are absolutely essential in the body, for the body is powerless in its effort to rise above Karma unless it is properly attuned to the Twelve Cosmic Rays. As you gradually let go in Love to the Lord, your Inner Soul, you find yourself being drawn into attunement in and with your Master-Self, in whose Presence, or Aura, you find the true sweetness of Being. Thus do you begin to enter into that ONENESS with God which allows you to begin to hear the "still small Voice" of the Soul within. Your Master Teacher is always with you. Learn to listen to His Voice, to obey His instructions, and you will be guided into the realms of Wisdom, of Peace, and of Joy.

Your own Soul is the Master. He longs for the day when you will allow yourself to walk in His Light, being filled with His Love and living His Life. This is the Way whereby the Truth of the Christ Life may appear in you.
