Michael And His Angels
Michael And His Angels
The Work Of The Spirit Of Truth
Uranda September 14, 1946 Summer Session — Sunrise Ranch
Once again we gather in the Name of our KING, rejoicing in the abundance of His Blessing, and most especially in the reality of His cleansing power, by reason of which we are prepared to let that which is of Him come fully and gloriously into manifestation in the earth. It is not to satisfy some need of God that we are required to relinquish such manifestations of the unreal as may remain, but, rather, for that blessing which He would give unto us, that we may be so open unto Him that only that which is of Him may appear and be made manifest in the earth. And so, when we realize the blessings which God hath prepared for them that Love Him and recognize, of a Truth, that “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man” what those things are that God hath prepared for them that Love Him, the human mind enters into a state of willingness to let God have His Way, in the realization that all things do truly work together in perfection for those who Love and Serve Him. Loving Him means abiding in polarity in Him. Serving Him means letting His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Always, as we let go to the cleansing power of God, there is, during the cleansing, a certain degree of what we might call fear and trembling before the Lord. That which is real in cleansing always comes with a deep sense of humility before God, and when it is real, there is a recognition of human unworthiness with respect to the abundance of the blessings of God and the opportunity that is granted in having the unreal burned away, that that which is of Him may come gloriously into manifestation. Very often it is difficult to acknowledge the ill thing before the Lord. A certain one once said to me, after having completed a phase of confession, that it was the hardest thing for him to do, and yet, when the release comes, what blessed peace, what wondrous sweetness follows the purging of the Lord. “… and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it.”
To my mind, the working processes of the Spirit in purging and in cleansing should bring to the earnest one one of the highest degrees of satisfaction possible to human beings; for in that there is the assurance that you are a branch of the Vine. If you were cut off, there would be no process of purging; there would be no Call of the Spirit toward purging, and there would be no recognition of the necessities of purging. Therefore, while the purging process may not in itself, for the moment, be the most pleasant thing in the world, the very fact of its existence gives assurance to the Earnest One that he is a branch of the One Vine and that he is bringing forth fruit; for the Master said: “… and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it,” and in order to bring forth fruit, it must be in the Vine. The purging period may be long or short, depending upon many factors, but, primarily, a lengthening of the time of purging comes from the human mind's tenacious holding to the unreal, being unwilling to relinquish it on the basis of human pride or some other such reason. In such cases, the operation is longer and more painful, but when there is a full, true willingness to let go in Love to the LORD and relinquish whatever He may find fit to purge, we find that He does not remove from us those things that are beautiful and glorious. He only removes the things that are not pleasant; He only removes those things that have done so much to make life on earth an expression of hell instead of an expression of Heaven, and all that is lovely, beautiful, fine, real and true remains, and is part of that new expression of the branch that comes forth.
During the process of purging, it is so needful that there be a true realization of these words: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" When there is that consciousness of polarity in Him, the passage through the abyss of nothingness is not difficult. If there be tendencies to respond to those things that are round about and below, fears beset, faith weakens, strength diminishes and a sense of separation from God creeps in. There is the Way, there is the Truth and there is the Life for each one, without one single exception, and when we abide in the realization that “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” there comes a consciousness of the fact that all things are caused to work together in perfection for those who Love and Serve the LORD truly. He does not desire to take anything from us; He only desires to give the fullness of which we are capable, that we may share the joy of the Master, and that our joy may he full.
I do not think I would quite agree with Paul where he says: “For it is impossible…” I would add a word. “For it is 'virtually impossible' (not quite) for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance.” I refuse to believe that there may not be some, under the intensifying currents to come, who may again, under the pressures of life's circumstances, be brought to repentance. The point that is essential is that they be renewed again unto repentance: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
I have not talked much in My Ministry about sin, for the same reason that I have not talked much about salvation, but, rather, have I been seeking to draw individuals into a realization of the Way, the Truth and the Life, that they might come to a true recognition of what salvation is, and to a true realization of the necessities of the cleansing of the Spirit, that, being actually a branch of the One Vine, they might share in that purging by which they may be caused to bring forth more fruit, and finally become true disciples of the Master and bring forth much fruit. There have been many ideas expressed as to that fruit. It is simply the fruit of the Spirit; that is, the fruit of the expression of the Christ-like Life made manifest on earth.
This Unit, coming into a realization of cleansing, that there may be a true and real belief on Him Whom we serve, is being drawn into a focalization of the expression of the Life Currents, and of the blessing of God on earth by which it may be the beginning of the manifestation of the Tree of Life. That Current of Life from God, manifesting through the characteristics that are natural to God—that which is noble, honorable, true, real, lovely and beautiful—causes the manifestation of the fruit of the Tree of Life. That same Life Force, working through the channels of man’s self-activity, according to his human pride and desire and fancy, brings forth the fruit of the tree of death. The Current in both cases is exactly the same. The channel of manifestation determines the difference. It is man's failure to recognize this simple, fundamental Truth that has prevented the restoration to the Edenic State long ago, and, except those channels of the unreal that may have still been retained in you be purged away, how can the fruit of the Tree of Life manifest in you?
During this process of transformation from one level of consciousness to another, you have, to a degree, been bringing forth fruit of two kinds. Only to the degree that you were polarized in the One Source could you begin to experience this transformation which you have been sharing, but the devil of the outer mind, following after his usual custom of sowing tares in the wheat field, or grafting unreal branches to the Tree to bring forth his own fruit, has been able to maintain, to a degree, some of his own graftings. Those branches that have been grafted into your branch by the devil of the outer mind in self-activity are not yours, actually, truly, in reality. Why should there be any hesitancy in letting those branches that have been grafted in be cut off, that you may bear the fruit of the Tree of Life, and that fruit only? What gain is there in maintaining, in hiding within the true branches somewhere, a branch that has been grafted on by the devil of the outer mind? I see no gain, but loss; for there is this great Truth: self-activity always comes at a high price. All self-activity carries a very high price, and there is nothing gained in return. The whole experience of man proves that. So, we recognize that we cannot afford self-activity. If there be a degree of self-activity unconsciously participated in, so that there is what we may call, as Arjuna expressed it, “a witless sin,” and there be true response to reality, then it is, if the individual is abiding truly in his polarity, easily and quickly nullified, and the branch of the unreal grafted in is quickly cut away; it is pruned. Every branch that beareth not fruit is cut off. Let us let the branches of the unreal be cut off, and let us let the branches that do bear the fruit of Life be purged and cleansed, that there may be no fruit of the tree of death manifest in and through you.
Jesus, our LORD, revealed the fruits of the Tree of Life. He established the trunk of the Tree of Life on earth whereunto man might turn, if he would, to partake of that fruit, that man might be grafted into that trunk by the Hand of God, and become a branch of the Vine. He said: “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also.” He revealed the Father. He brought forth on earth the fruit of the Tree of Life, even unto the Victory over death. “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also.” There is the measure of belief, as to whether or not it is real. The Works that He did were to reveal the Father, and to bring forth the fruits of Life on earth.
Concerning the work of the Spirit of Truth, our Master said that he should reprove the world of sin because they (that is, the people of the world) believe not on Him. Any individual who believes not on Him is in sin, and if he does believe on Him he brings forth the fruit of the Tree of Life and reveals the Father. There is the dividing line. It is not something that I can alter or change, nor would I if I could. “He that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad,” said the Master. The Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, “will reprove the world of sin ... because they believe not on me.” They who believe reveal the Father and bring forth the fruit of the Tree of Life on earth. There is the simple, fundamental fact, and we have to face it whether we like it or not.
As a background of that vital fact, let us consider something else. I shall not undertake to list the things which human beings do, and the attitudes they hold, or the nature of function by which they bring forth the fruit of the tree of death, but some of them are: human pride, jealousy, fear of that which is of the unreal, which means faith in the works of the devil; and out of these spring such things as hate.
I was thinking of the first sin. Lucifer, the bright and Morning Star, was in heaven with the LORD. Let not the thought of heaven take you away from the earth; for in the beginning, and as it shall be in the end, heaven and earth were one. Lucifer was the bright and Morning Star, that which gave impulse to the expression of God on earth in a new cycle of time; for Divine Man was in heaven, even though he was also on earth. Remember that. Lucifer, watching, seeing the fulness of love and devotion given to the LORD of Love, began to be arrogant; he began to be jealous of the LORD. Was he not created beautiful? Why should he not receive the same degree of devotion, the same degree of response, and have the same degree of influence? Why should the LORD of Love receive all the wonder of the expression of love response? Lucifer began to be jealous. He began to think that there was no reason why he should not receive at least a portion of that love response. He began to think that he was just as good as our LORD. Pride entered in, and Lucifer in heaven—heaven and earth were one—the bright and Morning Star let the serpent begin to turn into the dragon. And what happened?
Michael and His Angels threw him out of heaven. It mattered not who it was, Lucifer or anyone else. Lucifer and his angels were thrown out of heaven. It was not the LORD of Lords who did it. The sin was against Him who is our KING. The LORD of Lords did not have to do it. Michael and His Angels did it, and they did it promptly, effectively and with dispatch. Lucifer and his angels were thoroughly thrown out of heaven into the earth, that if it might be that they should repent on earth, they might, in season, return to heaven. Do you think that the one who threw Lucifer out of heaven into the earth could stand as a respecter of persons in the process of throwing the dragon out of the earth? Just as surely as the cleansing came in heaven, so must it come on earth. Time has been given, remember, but the dragon is going to be cast out of the earth also.
I have come into the world as a voice from heaven, saying: “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.” Those who are on the LORD's side, those who will let themselves be established in Him, are being called; but those who choose to be the angels of the dragon on earth will receive no more tender mercy from Michael and His Angels than they did in the first place, when it comes to the cleansing in the earth. Except the cleansing come individually, and then a still higher cleansing collectively, the cleansing of the earth will remove the individual.
Lucifer and his angels undertook to fight. It was a sad mistake. If it had not been for intercession on the part of the LORD of Love Himself, Michael would not have just cast them out of heaven into the earth, they would have been annihilated. The gratitude which has been shown to the LORD of Love through these thousands of years for His intercession, that they should be cast into the earth only, that they might repent and return, has not been such as to make one think that a great deal of mercy needs to be extended much longer. Nevertheless, in order that man might have every opportunity, after our Master came on earth and was rejected and crucified of men, Michael, to keep that Act from being in vain if possible, himself took up the work of intercession; for if it had not been so, that dark day would have brought the end for the human family. That the Act of the LORD of Love might mean something, that it might not be in vain, Michael himself accepted the intercessory work for mankind for a season.
We stand at the door. Michael stands at the Gateway of the Garden, at the entrance of the Kingdom, with a Flaming Sword that turns every way. The call has sounded: “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins.” For those who believe not on Him the blow of death is dealt them now, and that which comes will but slay the slain. The only sin is the sin of not believing on Him, and lip service and claiming to believe carries utterly no weight with the Angel who stands at the Gate. Either there is the return to the Father, and the bringing forth of the fruits of the Tree of Life, or there is no entering in. That is belief. And failure to believe on Him is the only sin as far as Michael is concerned, under which the world stands condemned; for all other so-called classifications of sin are merely stems or branches of that one sin, and they mean nothing.
I have not talked to you about sin, in the ordinary fashion, because human beings only talk about the branches of sin. I have wanted to do it when I might point you vividly to the one sin: the sin of not believing on Him. That is the only one about which I am concerned. To the degree that there is response which lets the individual come closer and closer into an actual state of belief on Him, his so-called sins in the world amount to nothing as far as the intercessor for the human race is concerned. But if they believe not on Him, all the claims of all the self-righteous ones on the face of the earth amount to nothing. All the works you have done, no matter how much you have thought you served Him, or how much you have given supposedly in the name of the LORD, mean utterly nothing unless they be the fruit of belief on Him; that is, the revelation of the Father and the bringing forth of the fruits of the Tree of Life on earth. That is the necessity. It cannot be done in human strength. Only in love response to Him whom the world has rejected can it be done, and that stands as the one requirement. When human beings stop rejecting Him and stop crucifying Him, they are welcomed at the Gate, but if any shall think to enter in past that Flaming Sword that turns every way without having actually believed on Him, they follow after the figment of a fanciful dream.
“Of sin, because they believe not on me,” said the Master. He was outlining what? He was outlining that work which the Lord of Truth had accepted and undertaken, that the Act of the LORD of Love might not be in vain. “He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me.” The one sin—the one requirement. Now is the accepted time. Now is the Day of Salvation. It is written that He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.
This morning I have told you what sin is, what the conditions are, and what the requirements are. Since this is the work of the Spirit of Truth, the Lord of Truth had something to do with the establishment of those points. That point with respect to sin has been simplified to the highest possible degree, and the way of man's return to God made as easy as possible within the scope of Truth, because it carries back to the point of the original sin, the first step in the fall, and the whole thing hinges on that one point. All else can be as if it had not been.
“The first shall be last, and the last shall be first,” applies here to that first sin: “They believe not on me.” And so these things are said in the infinite love of God, according to the absolute nature of the pattern of truth, in the simplest possible form. The battle is not done as far as the clearing away is concerned, but the victory has already been won. It is merely a matter of waiting to see who will share that victory. The hand of the Angel has long been stayed.
As you begin to realize these things vividly and truly—and as you recognize that this is the most serious subject possible to the consideration of man under the sun—you have a deeper realization with respect to your calling as a member of the One Christ Body on earth. The utter impudence of man in presuming to continue to hold back in the face of all that is done does not augur well for man. But all of you may have opportunity in the closing days of this cycle—and to the degree that you actually realize the responsibility that is yours as a member of the One Christ Body, you will see that now this Christ Body is a form in which the Spirit of Love and the Spirit of Truth are incarnate together at the same time in the one form, that the polarities may be established and the work of intercession may continue for a little time; for the Angel with the Sword, when he begins his work, will not be interceding for anyone, and except there be intercession, who should remain? This is that to which you are called, and except you be cleansed, how should you stand untouched of that Sword? If you be not cleansed until you are touched of the Sword, how should you intercede for any? It is so ordained. No man can alter or change it except for himself, choosing as to where he shall stand: either upon the rock or the sinking sand.
The Master said: “On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” With respect to these things, I suggest that a period of quietness in the LORD, and meditation and deeper examination, especially with respect to the fullness of polarity in the LORD of Love, is in order. The Master said: “For the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” Let the purging so take place that when the Angel with the Sword appears, He shall find nothing further to cleanse away. When he appears…? He is here, but he hath not yet taken up his sword against the world.
Love Response
To The Lord Of Love
Uranda September 14, 1946 Summer Session — Sunrise Ranch
Today we have been considering the necessities involved in reproving the world of sin, because they believe not on Him whom we serve. We recognize that we ourselves must experience cleansing before we can be a pure channel through which others may be drawn to the cleansing. There may be degrees of impurity, but impurity is impurity, and purity, as far as we are concerned, rests in the absolute fulfilment of the first of the two great commandments. Impurity, whatever it may be, is that which detracts from a one-hundred-percent response to the LORD of Love. Anything, whatever it may be, from human standards—good, bad or indifferent—that detracts from a one-hundred-percent love response to the LORD of Love is a factor of impurity. We recognize this to be absolutely true. This afternoon I would like to assist you to an expanded vision whereby you may more easily distinguish between those things that are proper and those things that are not proper with respect to this one great point.
The LORD of Lords and KING of Kings is the absolute focalization of the Whole Holy World. This means that in fact—spiritually, vibrationally, from any standpoint whatsoever—He is the point of focus for all that is contained within the Whole Holy World. Everything that has any proper place in that whole range is polarized in Him. To the degree that any individual or any condition does not have a focus in Him it is of the unreal and is to be done away with. Since He is the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings, and all that is properly contained within the Seven Planes of Being is focalized in Him, then every recognition of that which is lovely, beautiful, true, honest, pure, holy, sacred, is in its essence, when recognized in love response to Him, actually a recognition of Him. We are all members of His Heavenly Body that fills the Whole Holy World. This Body of God that fills the Whole Holy World has its absolute focalization of the Head in Him. There are those who share with Him the position of the complete formation of the Head of the Body, but with respect to the Head itself, He is the Head. That Nucleus of the Divine Body, then, that is the Head of the Body of God in the Whole Holy World, while functioning in its position as the Head, in turn recognizes Him as the absolute point of focalization of the Head, and therefore He is the Head. And He is the contact point between this Body of God that fills the Whole Holy World and the Cosmos, the realm of God Being beyond this world.
We recognize that in all things there are focalizations. Wherever there is a cycle there is a Center of that cycle. As revealed in Ezekiel's vision, there are wheels within wheels. Regardless of your relationship to the other members or parts of the Body of God in the Whole Holy World, there is a cycle that has its Center in you—that is, of the individual nature. That in turn is a part of another cycle—whether at the Center or as a part of that cycle is for the moment beside the point—and then that cycle is again a part of another, and so on, until we have the LORD of Lords at the Absolute Center of the Whole insofar as this Whole Holy World is concerned. Recognition of that which is vibrationally above you is a recognition of the LORD of Lords.
We have the word of the Psalm: Lift up your eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh your help. The hills are as high as you can see; they may be at one level for one person, at another level for another person, but whatever you see and recognize that is high and holy and wonderful does not reach the point of the absolute until it is of a truth a recognition of the LORD of Lords Himself. Whatever it may be within the scope of the Whole Holy World, that which is of the real leads to Him, that which is of the real points to Him, and the reality that exists, whether of the Inner Planes or of the outer, and all of the expression of God Being and the degree to which that Divine Being is made manifest in the human being, is contained within the One Christ Body of God, which fills the Whole Holy World. Response to that which is not of Him is a detraction from your response to Him; but response to all things lovely, beautiful, real, fine, true, sacred, holy, in a spirit and attitude of love response to Him, regardless of whether the vision of Him is clear or not, is a response to Him.
The degree to which you see the LORD and know Him is not the determining factor as to the purity of your response to Him, because there may be a one-hundred-percent response at your level of consciousness and point of being in the Body without a full consciousness of Him as He is in reality, the Absolute Head of the Body of God. When this is seen, there should come an easy recognition of the fact that the recognition of the Divine can be experienced anywhere, at any time, under any circumstance, and that is a recognition of God. And a recognition of God is a recognition of the Body of God, and a recognition of the Body of God is a recognition of the Head of that Body. Therefore, while I have emphasized, and do and shall emphasize, the necessity of absolute response to the LORD of Love, it should be recognized that I do not expect you now, or necessarily at any near future time, to have an absolutely clear-cut, vivid, actual, complete knowledge of the LORD of Lords Himself as a Being. This is not to detract from Him, but to open the way for you to draw still nearer to Him, so that you may not feel a separation from Him where you are.
If He, as He is in reality, as He is by His own right and nature, in His place as an individual God Being, were to suddenly appear before us in the fulness of that glory, these physical temples would be utterly consumed and they would not remain for His uses in this world. However the very nature of the structure of the Body of God, coupled with the manner of expression of God through creation, particularly through man, permits a clear consciousness of our LORD and of our attunement and harmony with Him, wherever we may be. He Himself said that we must worship God in spirit and in truth. We might say that the truth of the matter is that God is everywhere, but to worship Him in spirit requires a feeling recognition, a perception of Him as He is made manifest at that point. We might say that God is in this space, or in this tree, etc. While that is basically true, unless there be some understanding of the nature of the Being of God, it might be supposed that the Body of God is there. The Body of God is there in the sense of the spaces in the Body of God perhaps, or in the spirit between the points of focalization in the Body of God. But the thing that I am seeking to draw into clear, vivid consciousness is that the manifestation of Deity, of the Divine, of that which has its source in God, is our contact point with God, and we must have a consciousness of that which is higher than that which is so perceived. That is our vision of God, and it is a recognition of the LORD of Lords if it is a recognition of God.
Our focalized consciousness, in its highest attunement, should always be centered in the highest point of recognition in the Body of God, or the Being of God, of which we are aware. There is of course a consciousness of the LORD of Love as being a Being. Some of you may say that you have seen visions of Him, and I would not deny it, although I would doubt if you had actually seen Him—a projection of Him by some means, for some cause perhaps, probably colored or toned down by your state of consciousness, etc. In saying this I am not advising that you try to get visions of Him, but only pointing out that you have not seen Him as He is, but that nevertheless you are never without a contact point with Him and that all that is of the Divine, when it is recognized, is a recognition of Him without respect to the particular beings that may be immediately involved.
As long as there is love response to Him, whatever is right, according to His will, will work out. The former things are passed away. God Himself shall wipe away all tears from your eyes. There have been a few tears with respect to the process of cleansing that we have had. No one needs to be ashamed of such tears. As there is a true cleansing, a purification, so that that which is of God can move through the individual, God Himself wipes away the tears, a sense of peace, satisfaction, well-being comes, and we abide in that polarity in function with God. We have to learn to function on an open vibration toward God. You do not have to be wide open to the world; you are not responding to the world. There may be at times even an appearance of hardness toward the world; be careful about that, to see that it is not self-active. But the openness is toward God, and anything that is done must be on the vibration of the cycle with respect to that thing, if it is going to be really worthwhile. All of this relates to bringing forth the fruit of the spirit in the earth, which must be, if we are to prove that we believe on Him.

These pieces have called me back a number of times, because there is such a depth to what Uranda is saying here. Here are a couple of resounding messages that I've devoured: Let Michael do the work that must be done in the world. I am not here to judge what is ordained and must be done, But I am responsible for continuing cleansing in order to participate in the long enduring intercession that has been operative for man. Feed my sheep from the truth of my living, looking, without judgment, at my world, not to be distracted by good or bad works, but know, "... Response to that which is not of Him is a detraction from your response to Him; but response to all things lovely, beautiful, real, fine, true, sacred, holy, in a spirit and attitude of love response to Him, regardless of whether the vision of Him is clear or not, is a response to Him."
I am the one on hand to see and acknowledge such response that is HIS. As Uranda says, this defines THE "sin" MOST clearly, revealing the responsibility of Lucifer restored, to the Head of His Body. Thank you for this post at this time!
