We continue our basic theme of Heavenly Magic, particularly at the moment we have been considering the reality of the Shekinah Pattern of Being. We have been giving particular consideration to the revelations with respect to Shekinah as offered to mankind by our Lord when He was on earth. And in the pattern of meditation we recognized His statement:
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you…
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.”
And then we come to the Divine Revelation of the specific application here. I do not know that we will take too much time with this this morning, but I would like to read the record of the Master’s words:
“I am the true vine, and my father is the husbandman. I am the true Shekinah, and my Father is the One Who Dwells. Every branch in Shekinah that beareth not fruit, the One Who Dwells taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the Shekinah I have given unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Shekinah.
“I am the Shekinah vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me, Shekinah, ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my Shekinah abides in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father, the One Who Dwells, glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” Now there is no other basis of discipleship as far as the Master was and is concerned, but by the bearing of fruit, by glorifying the One Who Dwells; as you let the Shekinah Cloud of Glory have meaning in your life, so that you may bring forth much fruit.
“Herein is my Father, the One Who Dwells, glorified.” Sometimes human beings have talked about glorifying the Father, they talk about it a great deal, but they don’t do much about it. Herein is the One Who Dwells glorified, that ye bear or bring forth much fruit, the fruit of the Spirit of God on earth in physical form; so shall ye be my disciples. And if you would be disciples of our Lord, this is the only way that you can achieve that goal.
“As the One Who Dwells hath loved me, the Shekinah Fire, so have I loved you.” Now love is the business of the Shekinah Fire. The One Who Dwells loves the Shekinah Fire. “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love.” You begin to realize that there are many, many passages revealing the Master’s statement, which definitely clarifies the fact that He was and is the Lord of Love; that He has the responsibility of providing the Focalization Factor of the Shekinah Pattern for the Solar System. Now you may have, in times past, thought of our LORD and KING, the One who was made manifest on earth through the body of Jesus, as primarily relating to this world only. But I would mention to you this morning the basic fact that
He is the One who carries theFocalization Pattern of the Shekinah Fire for our entire Solar System
And as He was the Spirit of Love made manifest, so did He promise to send another Comforter, to be recognized as the Spirit of Truth made manifest. He said: Herein is the One Who Dwells, the Supreme Focalization of Deity for all of the Solar System. Now in this He was not actually, in the deeper sense, talking about His own God Being. It can be applied on that level, but if you have the larger vision you see that the Father of whom He was speaking in this instance, as in many others, was the Supreme Focalization of Deity for this Solar System; and it is under that Focalization of Deity that He has the responsibility of focalizing the Shekinah Fire—that particular part of the Pattern as it extends out through this part of creation. And He is our LORD and KING.
“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” Now this particular revelation with respect to our KING should not be required to make you have a greater desire to be His disciple, but it does give you an opportunity to have a deeper realization of the significance or meaning of discipleship. He was just as great before you had any conscious awareness of His position in the Cosmic scheme of things as He is now. We have just as much reason to love Him, and to acknowledge Him, before we know that, as we do after. But in this you begin to see that the body of planets surrounding the Center of the Solar system, which we call the Sun, is not to be properly considered as something of many separate, distinct, segregated bodies—the planets. In actual fact all of these bodies around the Sun, that are called planets, are integral parts of one thing, with a much deeper significance than would be immediately evident merely by saying they are all part of one Solar System. We are a part of this body of planets, and the body of planets is very important to us.
And to be a disciple of our LORD and KING gives us the opportunity of sharing in much more than just—what shall we say?—living a good life, as human beings think of it in the ordinary pattern of existence. That isn’t following Him; that isn’t being a disciple. Just establishing a little home, and trying to live a good life, and being honest in your job, and doing this and doing that according to the usual world pattern. Oh, we have to live—I know that—but that type of thing does not give any real expression to life. We need to begin to realize that as disciples of our Lord and King we have responsibilities far greater than your minds have yet been able to comprehend.
“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples”
“As the Father hath love me”, as the One Who Dwells in the center of the Solar System hath loved me; so have I, the Supreme Focalization of Shekinah in the Solar System—that is, the Shekinah Fire—“so have I loved you: continue ye in my Love”—the Spirit of Love. And He is the One who is the Lord of Love, the Supreme Focalization of Love everywhere. “Continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love.” Abide in my love; abide in the Shekinah Fire, whereby you have established, in you and through you, the pattern of your true relatedness to me.
“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in His love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”
“Ye are my friends if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth”—that is from the time you reach the state of being a friend—“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth.” You haven’t known very much about what I was doing, have you? You begin to realize that. How much less do you know about what our LORD and KING is doing!
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends;”—but I have called you friends—“for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you”—insofar as you were able to receive them. “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you.”
How is it, think you, that I have this position here in the world, in this pattern of ministry? Because I chose to do it? Because I determined that this is going to be my job, and I petitioned the Lord and said, “Well now Lord, if you will just give me permission, I’ve decided I’d like to do this over here, and if you’ll just give me permission I’ll go and do it.” Do you suppose that’s what happened? Not at all. I was chosen by Him, and ordained by Him, and that’s all that matters. He chose me to be in this position in relationship to Himself and no one can rebel against that fact of His choosing without rebelling against Him. I didn’t put myself in this position. He put me there. He put me where I am. And no one can rebel against that without rebelling against the One who ordained me that it should be so. As you begin to let these things be truly true of you, the same will be true of you.
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you,”—when you have reached the point of being a friend, that is—“that ye should go and bring forth fruit,”—and you are part of the fruit that I have brought forth out of the world—“that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.”
What have you recognized about the fruit that He brought forth on earth? Almost without exception it didn’t remain. He had one disciple and three faithful women, when the end came. That’s all that remained for Him—that’s all that remained. But He says that ye should bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain; and not go away, not be scattered and made to be of no effect. But once you have reached the state of being a friend, then, from that point on, we have His word:
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit”—on earth of course—“and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father”—in my Shekinah—“he may give it you.”
And do you think just repeating like a parrot the name Jesus, in a request, or so-called prayer, you are going to accomplish anything. How many times that has been done, is done every day, and nothing happens? “That whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name”—in my Shekinah—“he may give it you. These things I command you, that ye love one another.” We are only introducing, for the moment, those wonderful words. We’ll come back to them again in season, your response permitting, to take a deeper look.
And now we turn to the seventh Verse of the sixteenth Chapter of the Gospel according to John, and we find these words:
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth.” He, the Lord of Love, emphasized the point of truth. “Nevertheless I tell you the truth, It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear”—in the Shekinah Pattern of Being—“that shall he speak, and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine”—of that which I have expressed—“and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine.”
Here is a very important key. “All things that the Father hath are mine.” The beginning of origin with respect to all created things in the realm of form, is where? Actually, in the Fire, in the Lord of Love, the One who focalizes the Shekinah Pattern of Being. “All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
“I have yet many things to say unto you,” the Master said, “but ye cannot bear them,”—you cannot understand them now. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth”—not just part”—“he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself: but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” Take of the things that are His and shew them to those who will see and those who will listen.
Have we moved far enough along the Way, together, for you to begin to see the significance of these words? Have you seen any evidence of their fulfilment? Do you need to have any proof more than that which is offered to you? That’s the only proof that ever will be, by the way. As I so often told the first GPC Servers’ Training Class, when they began to act like they wanted a sign, I’d repeat the words of the Master, who said, “This is an evil and adulterous generation who seeketh a sign; and no sign shall be given unto it, save the sign of the prophet Jonas.” Maybe some day, I will tell you what that sign is.
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you”—for all beings, for the working of the Divine Plan everywhere—“ It is expedient for you that I go away”—for if I remain in here in this outer realm of things where I do not have the natural pattern of my true focalization, I cannot function effectively for very long, and I could not produce the conditions necessary to your effective function—“It is expedient for you that I go away.” It was, and it is, and He is where He should be. He is in His Place, a KING Supreme—the Supreme KING of Heaven and earth.
“For if I go not away, the Comforter”—the other Comforter—“will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world”—not condemn the world, reprove the world, and I wonder if anyone here has ever heard the word of reproof. “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me.” And that is the only sin there is. All other iniquities and transgressions and misdemeanors, or whatever you want to call them, result from that one thing. There is only one sin, just one, though that one sin may manifest in many, many ways. But if you are not deluded by the surface appearance, you always find that wherever there is sin, it is just this one sin. “Of sin—reprove the world of sin “because they believe not on me.”
Have you ever found that pattern of reproofin evidence here? Have you ever felt yourself reproved? What does it mean to believe on Him? Gradually, you have been going through a process of realizing the answer to that question. And the only sin thereis, is the sin of not believing on Him. What is sin?Iwonder how manydefinitions I would receive if I asked you to each state—of course, you might all go to Webster and quote him—then they’d be more-or-less alike. But what does sin mean? We talk about the first sin. You know, the first sin is the only sin. There is only one sin, it is just a question of whether you share in it or not. The first sin is the only sin. There is just one sin, and it is all the same sin, and those who shared in it to begin with, suffered the consequences of their own foolishness. You know you cannot sin again. All you can do is share the same sin. You cannot make any new sin. Human beings have managed to extend that one sin into all of the various factors of which humanity is capable, and you can’t create any new aspects of the one sin, no matter how hard you try. They have all been created or brought forth, long ago. But they’re simply variations of one sin, and the one sin is what, in the legendary sense, finally became known as the “apple.” Now there is just one apple, one sin. You either bite it or you don’t. You either toy with it, smell it, touchit, lick it a little perhaps to see what the flavor is and then take a bite. It is a narcotic thing, and a lot of people have been biting on it. I never could understand why so many people were interested in taking another bite. Some filthy mouths have been on it, some very filthy mouths have been chewing on it. Why shouldanyone want to take another bite? In the legendary sense, the apple is the one sin. Itis not an apple in the sense of the fruit, as we think of it, but simply symbolized by it, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the apple is the one sin.
“Of sin, because they believe not on me.” Because they believe not on the Lord of Love who carries the focalization of the Shekinah Fire. And he who cuts himself off from the Shekinah Fire has nothing, and he can do nothing, really. It my take a little while for him to shut himself off so completely that his body will cease existing, but he who shuts himself off from the Shekinah Fire has nothing and is nothing—and only as you let yourself be reestablished in relationship to the Shekinah Fire can you begin to be what you ought to be. There is only one sin. The world has used the word “sin” a great deal. Many of those who have conceived themselves to be ministers haveshouted the word atthe top oftheir voices from coast-to-coast and around theworld, shouting about sin—it is avery important thing that everyone should know that they have sinned.
And how should they begin to find restoration? Instead of pointing human beings to the reality of ourLORD, to attunement with the Shekinah Fire,they have pointed to what they conceived to be the dead body of Jesus, bleeding on a cross; and they say, “If you believe that the body of the Son of God died on a cross, that man wassuccessful in killing our LORD, and if you believe thatthe blood was dripping from His hands and His feet and His sides, if you believe that Hisbody was dead, then you are saved.” You are saved from what? Did they ever tell you anything about the Shekinah Fire? Did they ever point to what our LORD really is? What is sin? Well, whatever we might callit, itis simplythe failure tobelieve, truly believe, on the Lordof Love and the reality of His Shekinah Fire, because if you separateyourself fromthat Fire and remain separated fromit, there isonly a little period of existenceand you wither andare gone, and that’s all. Only in relationshipto the Shekinah Fire can we be men and women in the Divine sense.
“And when he is come, he will reprove the world”—the world of man, the world of self-activity—“reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” Now here we begin to see the Shekinah Pattern on the basis of the Divine View. Here, in relationship to the Focalization, the Centering—first the Fire. This is the reverse of the way human beings approach it, and see it, until they are inside of it, until they have learned to abide within the hedge. “And of righteousness”—and of right-use-ness. We immediately recognize that righteousness has relationship to the right uses, the right applications, the right functions, in the Design and Control of Truth. It relates to the Light that Glows. The one sin relates to the Fire—the Fire that Burns. “And righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me nomore.”
Now some people have imagined that the Master contradicted Himself a good deal. The disciples, some of them, thought He was being very confusing too. A little later He said, “A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, Because I go to the Father?” They said therefore, “What is this that he saith unto us, A little while. We cannot tell what He saith” We cannot tell what he saith. And they never did. “Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more.” Of right action, right function in the Pattern of Truth, in relationship to the Light that Glows. “And of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” And the judgment isin relationship to the Shekinah Cloud of Glory. Again the trinity of the Shekinah revealed in its patterns of expression from the Father. And once you enter the Shekinah Cloud of Glory you begin to realize that the prince of this world isindeed judged already. If it seems to you that he is not, it is because you have not yet entered the Cloud of Glory. And He continued:
"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear then now.” He did not have an opportunity to say those things when He was on earth, to convey them. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he willguide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shewyou things to come. He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine”—he shall receive of the Shekinah Fire—“and shall shew it unto you.” He shall receive of all things that are mine; he shall receive of the Shekinah Fire and shall show it unto you. “All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
I thank God for the patterns of your response that you may, of a Truth, draw near unto God; that you mayrespond to that Divine Invitation, “Come unto me,” that you my let yourselves bring forth the fruits of the Spirit and be the disciples of our LORD; that the reality of the Heavenly may become evident in the Earthly, that it maybe revealed that Heaven and Earth are one, and that His Kingdom. and His Power and HisGlory are here, at hand, for all who will share them, for all who will let them appear. And so shall we know the joy, the joy of which He spoke, that our joy may be full. So do we Glorify our KING, and there is no greater joy than to know that we are giving joy to the One whom we Serve. Peace be unto you.

We come to our class meditation on the 5th day of May, 1954 here in the Chapel on Sunrise Ranch. And it’s a beautiful day, a lovely day, springtime in the Rockies; it’s Spring now, you can begin to see the budding of the leaves and the many evidences of the resurrection and the life in Mother Earth. We’ve been considering something of the principles in relationship to Mother God. We have been in the habit, in time past, of speaking of Mother Earth. Realizing how much of the blessings of life come from the earth, how essential, we also realize that nothing could come from the earth except by reason of the Sun. So actually, if we are justified in saying Mother Earth, we will be justified in saying Father Sun, in relationship to the physical Sun of our Solar system, wouldn’t we? Mother Earth and Father Sun, because the earth could not bring forth anything except for the Sun. And the basic energy pattern which we utilize in life, physically as human beings, and in relationship to food and heat, everything, all derives from the Sun. So if we are going to talk about Mother Earth we should just as freely talk about Father Sun; and we must not let ourselves get confused on that basis in relationship to Mother God. But these two aspects of creation give us an out-manifestation of the basic principles in relationship to invisible Being.
The Father aspect of God is symbolized by the Sun, and in that connection we note that while there were religions in time past that degenerated to a mere worship of the Sun as an orb, that most of the reference to so-called Sun worshippers of the past is misleading. To call them Sun worshippers is a misnomer. We recognize that they recognized that the Sun was a symbol of God, and while they acknowledge the symbol of God, they did not conceive the Sun, as such, to be God. But our modern students of ancient beliefs and peoples have not adequately recognized that distinction. We need to bring it into the pattern a bit in our own understanding, in order to better comprehend the significance of the pulsation of cycles, the pulsation, the rhythm in nature. We think of spring and fall, winter and summer, as aspects of the pulsation that works through the earth. And now that we are in the springtime, we feel the bursting forth of the life forces in the earth, because the earth has been warmed and given new energy by the Sun.
Beginning to feel and to know harmony in the rhythms of Being is vitally essential. If we are going to understand Ontology, which is the science of real Being, we must recognize the relationships between visible and invisible Being, and we must recognize the part that is played by these rhythmic, pulsing cycles. Such pulsations originate in what we call the invisible realm, because they are invisible merely to our physical perception. But to what degree do we as human beings, allow the pulsations from Deity to extend out into the earth? In the days to come, when you’re giving an attunement, you will probably notice some very interesting factors in relationship to rhythm, pulsation and cycles. What are you doing when you give an attunement? We say we are undertaking to help the individual come into attunement with God, and that is true. What am I doing as I serve you here? I am working to help you come into attunement with God, the Father aspect of God and the Mother aspect of God. And we remember the commandment, “Thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother that thy days might be long in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” And instead of thinking of a geographical location like Palestine, or the United States, or Colorado, or some other place, the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee is the land of your own body, your physical body—that thy days, thy life, may be long in the physical body. “Thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother that thy life might be long in the physical body which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” And if we are going to honor Father and Mother God, how can we do it better than to begin to receive into manifestation the atmosphere, the meaning of Father and Mother God.
And so, bringing you into attunement with God means what? Bringing you into attunement with the cycles, the natural, divinely ordained cycles, the pulsations of Being. And what do we mean when we say divinely ordained? All too often the human mind limits the concept of something divinely ordained to something arbitrarily established by some Being somewhere that is called God. But these things are not arbitrarily established. They were established as the only means by which the given result could appear at this level of creation—no other way. It couldn’t be any other way. The Laws of God are not arbitrary Laws. They are the Laws of Being, not to be resisted as if we were compelled like slaves to conform to unreasonable demands, but the very Laws of our Being which should be eagerly recognized and accepted in relationship to ourselves because we know that any deviation from correct function under those Laws in the pulsation of Being, is going to bring difficulty of some sort.
And so, my work here is to help you to come into attunementwith, harmony with, the pulsations of Being, of real Being—physically, yes, mentally and emotionally, spiritually. As the mind begins to be aware, consciously aware, of the pulsations of Being in relationship to the level of intelligence, you find it easier to think, easier to see things to which before you were blind. And in the feeling realm, as we become aware of pulsations so that we can harmonize with them, we feel a richness in life, a fulness, a beauty, which before was unknown.
These pulsations, we see them in relationship to the sun and the earth, the seasons which God ordained. These seasons as they now manifest are a distortion of what God ordained, for He did not ordain the severe wintertime. He did not ordain the severe heat of the summertime. There were changes of climate in the earth as God established it, yes, some places warmer than others, some places cooler than others. In the higher elevations there were variations from the lower regions, and it was cooler in the northern parts than in the equator, but we did not have this extreme wobble in the axis of the earth. The equator, as we speak of it, was nearer a constant centering. If we have something that changes the physical earth, as such, so that it goes through this complete wobble, shall we say, every year, once a year, a complete wobble; and if this wobble is this severe, what happens to the atmosphere?
The forces that control the wobble are not centered in the earth's envelope of atmosphere. It is centered in the physical earth itself. So the atmosphere has to follow the earth, and as it follows we have various patterns of turbulence in the atmosphere, not altogether established on the basis of heat and cold, although that is the primary force that we are aware of. But the thing that we are considering is, that as the earth wobbles there are constantly changing patterns of depth in the atmosphere in relationship to the earth. The deepest part of the atmosphere is over the equator. The thinnest part of the atmosphere is over the poles. This is a result of centrifugal force, etc., as well as gravitational pulls. But now if we had just a little wobble, instead of such a big one, just enough to keep the changing seasons in a rhythmic pattern, enough to get away from sameness, monotony, the basic pattern of the earth’s atmosphere, being thick at the center, over the equator, and thinning toward the poles, would allow a pattern of heat distribution over the earth that would be quite different from what we have now.
That is what we had in the days of the Motherland. The heat distribution through the atmosphere, because the penetration where the atmosphere is thick would be slower, and where the atmosphere is thin it would be more rapid. And the radiation pattern would be different. Instead of having one pole at a time in darkness for so many months, where the cold collects and becomes severe, to be released in currents out over the earth, the poles would be virtually in daylight all the time instead of in darkness six months of the year. That would mean that we wouldn’t have the severe development of cold at the poles to disrupt the pattern of the earth’s atmosphere. Consequently, the whole situation would be different. I point this out briefly, only to emphasize the fact that the seasons as we now know them are not the seasons as the Lord ordained them. They are exaggerated. But we still have the illustration of the pulsations, the natural ebb and the flow, and with everything there must be a pattern of pulsation if there is to be a pattern of life.
When we contact an individual, a person, we recognize that no matter how healthy that person may be in body and mind and heart, the seasons, the pulsations there, are at least a little off key. There is no such thing as a person living on the face of the earth today, where the pulsation patterns are perfect; no matter how good that person is, no matter how well centered. Now you say, “If that is true, why should we be centered?” Because, in the first place, the nearer we are to the perfect pulsation pattern, the better health and joy, happiness we will have. But the Lord needs someone to work through to give the earth itself an attunement. It is not merely a matter of giving an attunement to human beings in a scattered or personal sense. It is a matter of developing a pattern which will permit the physical earth as a planet, to be given an attunement, so that we can establish a control pattern that will begin to modify the difficulties we have in relationship to the elements.
People talk about God controlling the elements. Well actually, the elements are not controlled in the sense God would control them if we would let Him. They are functioning on a more-or-less haphazard basis under the conditions which are prevalent; and if we say, “Well now, if we have the proper power or proper prayer, or something, we could cause it to rain or stop raining, or the wind to blow or stop blowing, or something of that nature”, as if the localized condition were the thing to be brought under control, we are functioning on a basis of ignorance. It doesn’t work that way. The control pattern in relationship to the elements goes back to the fact of the earth’s wobble. We can have a certain degree of modified influence or control in spite of that wobble, in its extreme expression, but if we were going to have dominion over the elements, we would first have to establish dominion over the earth so that in the pattern of attunement it could be brought out of its extreme wobble.
Also—I believe this is touched upon in your other classes in season—but we have 365 days, roughly speaking, in a year. That isn’t what God ordained. We’re just a little bit further away from the Sun than we are supposed to be. We are supposed to have a year of 360 days. We’re five and a fraction days out, five and a fourth approximately. Now if we had a day for a degree in the circle, so that being just a little bit closer to the Sun, moving at exactly the same speed around the Sun, we would complete this cycle or circle in 360 days, we would have a basic pulsation correct, as God ordained it. Now if the earth had been thrown out of pattern another five days shall we say, so that we had a 370 day year ,instead of what we do have, man would have been destroyed from the face of the earth. In other words, there is a comparatively narrow range there. If we got too much closer to the Sun we would break the vibratory rhythms upon which man was created. This basic pulsation of the rhythm of our movement around the physical Sun is of first or primary importance in movement toward the absolutely ideal state. Now, our job is to produce as nearly the ideal state as we can under these vibratory patterns, the cycle of the earth around the sun and so-on, which for the moment we cannot change. But if we will produce the best possible conditions under the vibratory factors as they exist in the solar system, we will reach a point where we can begin to cooperate with God in restoring the body of the earth itself to its proper rhythms, the proper cycle around the Sun, 360 days, just a little bit nearer the Sun, and the proper degree of wobble involved.
Now there are many interesting things which we might consider in that regard. There is a comet—and all the comets that we become aware of, remember, are a part of our solar system. Those comets which come in the range of our perception are just as much a part of our solar system as the planets are, and that is something that most people do not adequately realize. Some of those comets are supposed to be comets. Others, or one in particular, is not supposed to be a comet. It is supposed to be a planet. That is another one of the factors that has broken the vibratory rhythm in our solar system. We won’t take time this morning to examine into how, what was once a planet became a comet, and how that that is now a comet must become a planet in the solar system itself, before we can have the absolutely ideal conditions upon the face of the earth. But briefly recognizing that, we can see how the lack of this planet in our solar system, functioning as a comet, is disturbing the vibratory factors of the planet, and the solar system as a whole. The fact that we are off key five and a quarter days, disturbs the vibratory factors in the solar system as a whole. Not just this earth.
We are inclined to think of our personal salvation as human beings, or perhaps with a larger vision, the salvation of humanity upon the earth, but we forget that what may be called the Plan of Salvation involves a correcting of ill conditions which extend throughout our solar system, because these breaks in the pattern, influence not only the earth but every other planet in the solar system, and it breaks up or disturbs the vibratory rhythms and pulsations which come to us from the Sun. So until we have the earth back where it belongs, until we have the wobble pattern corrected in the earth itself, until we have this planet back into its orbit so that it’s functioning as a planet instead of a comet, we are not going to have the absolutely ideal conditions on earth.
Now you say, “This job is getting bigger all the time. I didn’t know we were concerned about such a big task. It looks impossible.” Well, it isn’t at all impossible to start with, and if we blind ourselves to these basic factors in the solar system, we will be trying to go something here which cannot be done, and that’s futile, isn’t it? Effort which cannot possibly have fulfilment is a waste; so we need to at least briefly recognize these factors so that we get away from trying to do the impossible, recognizing that the pattern here is not ideal.
Now, I have not asked any of the ladies who play the piano here about it, but it’s very possible that this piano needs tuning. Does it? A little bit; it is a little bit out. It is not as bad as it could be, but it’s a little bit out. Now those of you who have a good musical ear might possibly recognize that when a certain key is touched, it does not give a note that is exactly true. Now if the piano is tuned accurately, we have the round, full notes, don’t we? They are right according to the pattern of the piano. So, we have exactly the same thing in the solar system. Let’s not imagine it just relates to the earth here, that it’s confined here. It isn’t, because this distortion pattern here on earth involves the distortion pattern on Venus and Jupiter and Mars and Uranus and Mercury and all the rest of the planets of our solar system. We need to see that, and know it, not because we are going to quit and say it is an impossible task, but because we need to understand the factors with which we are dealing.
Now for instance, perhaps I could illustrate with a story; and I believe it is a true story. I can’t vouch for that, and I may not have the story complete in my mind, but as I recall this story, there was a certain ship at sea which had run into a great storm, and the people were troubled, disturbed, for fear of losing their lives; and they were gathered in the cabin, or whatever it should be called, the main congregating place on the ship; and in this storm various ones were undertaking to be a little entertaining or helpful, some prayer, some recitations, and one thing and another that were designed to help take the peoples’ attention away from the storm, keep them relaxed, keep them quiet, and they were deliberately helping each other. And as I recall this story, there was a great violinist on board. Now how he could be there without a good violin, I do not know, but apparently he was; and apparently there was a violin that had only one string, and it was a rather decrepit old thing; it wasn’t a good violin, it was not in any sense complete. But this great violinist got hold of that violin and he went before this little group, huddled there, and the raging storm outside, and he began to play on the violin with just one string. He didn’t say, “I can't. The violin is not right, it isn’t complete, I can’t do anything.” He took the violin with just one string and proceeded to produce such exquisite music that every person there was moved by it, and touched with depths of being. Sometimes we may have to play on the violin with just one string. We know good and well that conditions are not what they ought to be with any of us. We know that the conditions in the earth itself are not what they ought to be. But, if we can make violin music, life music, on the violin with just one string, we will be helping toward fulfilment. We need to do what we can do with conditions as they are. And as we reach a point of true attunement with God, regardless of the limitations, regardless of the things that are not right, we can begin to reach a point where we can be the instruments through which God can work to give an attunement to the planets and the solar system.
You know, I am so very thankful that this comet out there that should be a planet, is still a comet, because if all the planets of our solar system were in position and one of them at least, was not a comet, our position would be hopeless. Do you know that? We on earth would be doomed to staying in an out-of-tune position forever. There must be a physical means of dealing with physical things. That comet out there is one of the great factors in relationship to the process of restoration to which we are dedicated. In season, and I am not going to attempt to tell you just how soon, but regardless of Soviet Russia and the Red menace, regardless of this, regardless of that, the day is coming when that comet that is now far off in space, is going to return, at a cycle, at a point, in the movement of the stars and the planets, and it will establish a physical pattern if we are functioning correctly, if we have reached a point of working with God, so that a control factor is established.
The return of that comet into our solar system will produce gravitational pulls, rearrangements, some cataclysmic changes, if you please. Oh, there will be some tidal waves, and there will be this and there will be that, and many people will be thinking of it as catastrophe, but we will be thinking of it as a step toward salvation. Why? Because we know that if we can, under those conditions, hold the right vibratory polarity, so that God has a means of working on earth in relationship to this change, the earth will be pulled back to its 360 day year, the wobble will be rectified so that it will be back the way it should be, and the planet will settle into its orbit. Do you think that can’t happen? It did happen.
You know, back at the time of the Children of Israel when it was said—at the time of Joshua, you know, they said, “The sun stood still.” At that time, another planet which was up to that time a comet, was restored. Do you realize that two of our planets, both Venus and Mars, they were planets in our solar system? In the cataclysmic changes that took place in the past twenty thousand years, both of those planets became comets, and they have both, within the past twenty thousand years, past three or four thousand years in fact, they have both been restored to their positions as planets. There is another one to come and if it were not so, we would be really in trouble. But, stop and consider for a moment if you need a little bit of connecting substance here, stop and consider, how certain of the ancients, as they are called, worshipped the planet Mars and certain ones worshipped Venus—there were two different periods involved. You look out at the sky and you pick out Mars or Venus, and can you by the wildest stretch of imagination, imagine any human being upon the face of the earth now, being so impressed with either of those planets that he would make them a god, and worship them? You can’t, can you? To imagine them as gods? Certainly not.
Well they were not in that position which they now occupy, in those days, and as they came in and there was wild changes in the solar system, they were comets which came close to the earth, disturbed the earth's pattern of pulsation; and while they were there, fiery monsters in the sky, the superstitious ones worshipped them as gods. Venus was one and Mars another. And they were not in the position where they are now, in the time in history when those planets were being worshipped as gods. And if we stop to think about it, we see how absolutely logical the idea is. We could go on and see that it is actually so. But just to help you connect up a little bit.
So we realize that two of the planets of our solar system have been restored already, from positions as comets to positions back as planets, as God originally intended them to be. There is another one out there, a planet that is still a comet, that will be coming in one bright day and it is not too far away, and when it comes in close we are going to have some cataclysmic changes on earth and there will be a lot of fear, and a lot of superstition, a lot of nonsense, but if we have a control pattern which understands what is taking place, we can work with God at that critical time, and the physical pulls of the planet which is being slowed down and drawn into its course as a planet, will help reestablish the pattern with respect to the earth, and we’ll have a new attunement; we will be back in tune with the cosmos in the solar system. But that is a ways away, and we had better be prepared for that day when it comes. It is one of the great things of the future, and we are not ready. If that comet came today we would be helpless to be of very much use in establishing the right control pattern in the solar system. But it is to be done.
Now, if we see it in relationship to the solar system, perhaps it will be easier to understand it in relationship to ourselves. And as a matter of fact, you cannot understand such things as cancer, for instance, cells going wild in the body, unless you understand this. You can search from now till doomsday for answers and you will not get them clearly. In certain cells there is a tendency, instead of the nucleus dividing into two parts, it will divide into three—triplets instead of twins. Just one of the aspects of the problem of cellular division as it relates to such problems as cancer. Well, we are not going to have, in an overall sense, a perfect control pattern in connection with the one cell organism of the body or the amoeba, until we have a perfect pattern established in our solar system. It isn’t there. Now, we acknowledge that, but we do not quit because of it. We do what we can so that the restoration pattern can be with respect to the whole, and not just humanly, personally, seeking for some heaven somewhere where presumably we are going to be at peace, and everything is going to be lovely because God made it that way for us. We are here to share with God in creative work, and if it's going to be lovely, God will do his part. But if it's going to be lovely for us, we are going to do our part, or it will not be lovely. And that is what makes the difference between heaven and hell. If we do our part, step-by-step it will become lovelier, more beautiful and more wonderful, and the living of life more thrilling.
But these rhythms are there, the pulsations are there, and for the time being they are a bit off key. Not so far that humanity has perished, but far enough so that we cannot have on earth today the same condition that prevailed before the fall of man. And I think as you go along in your studies you will understand more effectively how it was that this break came in the pattern, at the time of the fall of man, what happened and why. But, we are considering the patterns, the pulsations, the seasons, the cycles, as they relate to us in this present day, our responsibility in this field. If we understand this background of the pattern, and realize that the music of the spheres as it relates to our solar system is not perfect music, it isn’t perfectly in tune, perfectly on key, then we will understand why there are certain irritating factors which everyone tends to feel, at various times in various ways, which are here and we cannot change them yet. They are there! Of course they are there. We all feel them. Some react more than others, but we all feel them. But we work around them, we do in spite of them, and we can go a long, long way toward the perfect pattern of expression as human beings without coming to the limit of what can be done in the present vibratory pattern of the solar system. If anyone starts saying, “Well now, I can’t be expected to do the right thing because the earth itself is out of key in the solar system.” If you start offering it as an excuse, I won’t accept it, because we can do a great deal that has never yet been done, we have a wide open field before us, much to be accomplished, before we reach the limits of what can be done in the present situation. And if we function correctly, if we will reach the limits of what can be done under this situation, we will be ready for that comet's return.
That comet came fairly close into the earth’s orbit, and made some definite changes, close enough to shift things around a bit, at the time of the Master’s birth. The comet didn’t come because the Master was born. The Master was born because the comet was coming. In other words, from the standpoint of God, the time of His coming was established in relationship to the movement of the comets and the planets, so that the vibratory factors would be right, so that the age cycles would be right, as we have touched upon them before, and they were caused to coordinate. The things that God does are caused to coordinate, if we let His will be done. And that comet has gone back out beyond the range of human view, but it came close enough to change things around a bit at that time. Now, we are here, in another cycle, given an opportunity to do something so that what has been done already may not be in vain, so that what is yet to be done may be accomplished, and it is a great task, a marvelous task, a noble task—but it’s not an impossible task, as it might seem to the human vision.
Now to get back to my starting point. When you are giving an attunement, what are you doing? You are helping the individual come into attunement with the true pulsations that are working through his own body or mind or heart. That person being disturbed, depressed or troubled, physically, mentally or emotionally, is not in tune with the pulsations of being which are flowing through; they are not being connected or contacted, they are not connected up, invisible and visible. So, you are helping to establish a field, a creative field if you please, which begins to help the physical body and its parts, nerves and glands and tissues, organs, to come into the pattern of rhythm with the Source of Life, simply a pattern of harmonizing with the rhythms in the body, and the body by itself cannot attain its own rhythms.
Over a period of time a person may do something in that direction by right diet, and by outdoor living, and by proper rest and so on. All of these things are all right and helpful, but they have a definite ceiling. Only through attunement, or attunement with the vibratory factors which provide the rhythm of being in the body and mind and heart, can we begin to let the things of the Spirit manifest effectively. The individual who is out of attunement in his mind and heart, considers something that is, what shall we say, in the current of inspiration, the current of true movement of the Spirit, and he says, “No matter how hard I try I cannot do that. I don’t believe I ever can.” Well of course, you can’t do it that way. The principle is to come into attunement with those natural rhythms and pulsations of being, Real Being, by which the inner may manifest through the outer. And that is the task before you in your future ministry.
Now let me illustrate just a little bit. I have on occasion given attunement to people of, what shall we say, extremely distorted patterns—a well advanced cancer case we might illustrate. Do you think you could get a control pattern through in such a case? Of course this individual was in a semi-coma, getting very close to the end. Do you think I could get a pattern through? No. I could arbitrarily establish a pattern, and the atlas for instance would move into position. The moment I took my hands away, it would be right back where it was. It wasn’t very difficult to move the atlas under that condition. It was just flopping around. But do you think it would hold for three seconds after I took my hand away? No, it would not. Absolutely no hold at all. Checking the body patterns, do you think that I could find a basic pattern of rhythm? No. Everything receding. Every vibrational pattern in that body had been broken and distorted. We become disturbed if a bone is broken, and say, “Oh, this is a tragic thing. A bone is broken.” Yes, it is bad enough; but how about the vibratory rhythms and pulsations that are broken? They are really more tragic. You see, we let the medical doctors set the broken bones. It is our business to set or repair the broken rhythms in the body, to re-establish—not the position of the bone; you need to understand something about the bones, yes—but it is our business to understand something about the cycles, the rhythms in the body and how they can be re-established.
In another case I was giving an attunement, or undertaking to give an attunement, to a woman who had,, well, gone off the deep end who was really in a mental institution. She had been taken out for the day, and I wanted to check her pattern, and they had performed an operation in relationship to that; I won’t attempt to describe. But when I started checking the vibratory patterns, instead of finding a pulsation pattern here in the cervical area, what do you think I found? A whirlpool, with the vortex centered just about over the atlas. You might say it took in the atlas and axis area, extending up into the occiput and down somewhat in the cervical pattern. But there was a whirlpool there; and I worked for, I suppose at least a half-an-hour, to see if I could modify that whirlpool and establish a pulsation pattern in her body. Do you think I could? No. Under the current, the atlas position changed, but the whirlpool did not change, not enough so that you could really detect it, so that you could do anything about it.
Now what happens? As you give an attunement, you may find that the vibrational pattern is all jagged; but under the attunement pattern you find that from the head down through the spinal column you begin to feel, as it clears, a pulsation, a moving up and a moving down, and in conjunction with that, if you’re alert to the vibratory patterns, you will also find one working across, like that. The true basic pattern of yourself as an individual shows up as a cross, in the vibratory patterns of your own being. If we have the true pulsations here, up and down, and across, we have the basic foundation for clearing the breakages in the other patterns that are inherent in the body. But if you cannot re-establish that basic pattern of the cross in the body, whatever radiation you give a particular part, it may help for the moment, but it’s pallitive in its nature, it is not corrective. You can ease some pain, you can do this, you can do that, but bless your hearts, it’s absolutely impossible to establish an attunement or radiation current that is of any real or lasting corrective value in the different parts of the body unless you have the cross pattern in your body. And you’ll learn to feel, whether you have yet detected it or not, learn to feel those pulsations, and you know that as soon as the pattern begins to get away from its jagged uncertain movement, so that it is not in rhythm, a faulty heartbeat so-to-speak, in the vibrational sense—and a person's heart can be perfectly good from what you might classify as a medical standpoint and still have that break; I don’t mean the physical heart—and the pattern begins to have an even pulsing flow; it begins to settle down; and you may feel some whirlpool effect in various parts of the body. You feel these jagged, uncertain, unrhythmic pulsations. And in this particular case that I was telling you about, that whirlpool in the vibratory factor was there; it was just spinning like that, faster than that, just a constant spinning. I couldn’t break it up and establish a pulsation. Once or twice, in spite of the vortex there, and the whirlpool effect, I managed to get just a hint of the pulsation through, but it was gone the instant I let go. There was nothing there to work with. It was too late.
We run into those cases where it is too late. It’s so much better to find them when it isn’t too late and the natural patterns of life are there. How desperately human beings want to live! How many there are in the world that would gladly exchange their physical condition of today for the physical condition in the life sense of anyone here in the room. You have equipment, every one of you has equipment necessary to doing the job. For you it is not too late, for any of you. But if you go along, far enough, that point is reached. Now, it was too late, that whirlpool was there, there was no intelligence to grasp, to understand, nothing I could do. So, I didn’t try to do something that I couldn’t do. I let it alone, let it work out. The final cause of death in that case was classified as cancer. Cancer, yes, it was. Why? Cells had gone wild; there was no control pattern in her body, no real control pattern.
But here we have in the normal pattern, the rhythmic ebb and flow up and down the spine, and in the cross bar of your being. And that is the true significance of the cross, the rhythmic patterns of the pulsations of life through the body. We could consider other types of problems, but it is not my purpose at the moment to start you in trying to feel out the patterns, that will come later, but rather to help establish in your consciousness an understanding of the basic factors which are involved, all the way from the solar system to you, and on down to the cells, the natural rhythms, the pulsations, the heartbeats in creation. And as we learn to harmonize with the heartbeat of the Creator, so-to-speak, we begin to be creative.
Now just a little point here, but such a big one. If we begin to realize Father God and Mother God, it is not difficult to recognize that between the two, or the two aspects of Deity, there is a constant, rhythmic pulse of Love and Truth and Life. It is there, constantly, always, everywhere. And as you begin to harmonize with that pulsing rhythm, begin to feel it, begin to know it, you begin to find what it is to be in the arms of Father God and the arms of Mother God—for Love and Truth are those arms, and the result that appears from that embrace is Life. You begin to feel and know the Rhythm of Being, not just of springtime in the Rockies, but of Father God and Mother God. Life—the Resurrection and the Life.
On this Sunday, the second day of May, 1954, we share the sacred privilege of being together with one accord in one place in the chapel on Sunrise Ranch. In our pattern of meditation, we have been considering certain basic principles of being as they relate to the reality of Father God and Mother God. And you're beginning to have a deeper sense of the presence of Mother God, beginning to know that it is only as we are aware of the presence of Mother God on earth that we can have a sense of being at Home on earth, and so function that we may truly let the Kingdom come and let the Will of God be done in earth as it is in heaven.
We noted in our earlier meditation, the need for the Father's provision and for the Mother's care if there is to be a true Home. Intellectually, theoretically, we have all recognized the reality of the Father's provision. And yet we well know that we have fallen far short in that cycle of function by which the Father's provision might be made manifest. And it is in this field that I would center your attention tonight for meditation. The Father's provision is projected from God out of heaven into the earth. That projection is spoken of, in the beginning, as the Garden which God planted eastward in Eden, that coming out of the east, out of the future, there might be the fulfillment on earth.
This morning we were considering together the pulsations of life, and we began to realize more deeply the nature of the Seasons of God, for we recognize that in all things, small and large, there are cycles or seasons. In the pulsations of being, the heartbeat of a man is normally slower than the heartbeat of a woman. The heartbeat of a child is normally more rapid than the heartbeat of an adult. The pulsation which we call the heartbeat varies according to the nature of the pattern and its purpose. And so, if we are going to think about the manifestation of divine provision and the correct process of receiving that provision into manifest form, we must consider the matter of pulsation.
We go back to the pattern in the amoeba, the single cell, and we realize that the body of the cell is charged by the current which flows from the nucleus into the body; and that is soon as the body or female mass of the cell is fully charged, there is a release of the current flowing back to the nucleus—the pulsation of life in the single cell—the outflowing until the body mass is charged, and then the release of that charge in response back to the nucleus.
We see these same principles in relationship to the mass of humanity and God. For God is the nucleus of this larger “amoeba”. As far as the mass of the single cell body is concerned the nucleus is God. It is the contact with the positive expression of being which God is. And the amoeba has no way to contact God except through its nucleus. That nucleus does have, of course, a vibratory pattern of relationship, in the currents of being, to a higher level; but it is, at the level of the amoeba, the means by which God manifests to the single cell pattern of life. Now if the provision of positive radiation, or charge, from the nucleus into the mass body of the single cell be established, and yet no response thereto be given, so that the charge is not returned to the nucleus, the cell would become rigid, crystallized, and under the abnormal intensification of the continued charge, not released, it would perish. The mass of this single cell body is made to receive the charge from the nucleus, but not to hold it for an unnatural or abnormal period of time. It is this pulsation of the charge radiating out from the nucleus, and the return to the nucleus, that provides the basic expression of life in the single cell form, the amoeba. The principles are exactly the same in the more complex form of the human being. The means of manifestation, the means of function, is altered—it becomes more complex, but the principle is exactly the same.
Now if the amoeba, or the mass of its body, had self-awareness and the capacity to enter into self-activity, so that having received the charge from the nucleus it undertook to use that charge for some purpose other than to return it to the nucleus, the pulsation pattern would be broken. Suppose the mass body of the amoeba attempted to project, or use in some other fashion, without returning to the nucleus, this charge, the pulsation broken, the mass body would feel deflated, weak. There might be a resurgence, some more receiving from the nucleus, but the cycle violated, the tendency would be to let it leak out in self-active uses, instead of letting it be returned to the nucleus. The pulsations would grow more erratic; they would slow down and become weaker, and finally cease altogether. In the life of an amoeba, this cycle would probably last, at best, no more than a few hours. The self-active lifespan would be very short, and the power to reproduce would be lost. For it is only as the mass of the single cell responds effectively to the charge from the nucleus that the pattern can be held, the nucleus divide, and the mass of the cell follow the pattern established by the nucleus, un cell division. It is by this process of cell division that the cell is perpetuated in what is virtually eternal life.
Now let us examine these factors in relationship to the human being. The positive radiation from the nucleus—God—to the mass body of humanity is constant. It is always there. Sometimes the human mind must be persuaded to believe that the Father's provision is always here. We have in time past emphasized that point over and over again. But the fact that the Father's provision is here is of comparatively little significance to most people. Why? Because it is not received into form. We have noticed, in relationship to the amoeba, that there are two primary patterns of pulsation. One, what we might call the normal life function of the amoeba, the charge from the nucleus, and before it becomes too intense, the release of that charge, which we may call “electrical” to illustrate, back to the nucleus. And in the normal life function of the amoeba that rhythm in pulsation continues. But when there is an approach to the time of reproduction, remember that the form of the amoeba, its body mass becomes round, the charge becomes much more intense and it is held for a longer period of time. There is a change in rhythm, not just for the purposes of the life function of the cell, but for the purpose of reproduction of the cell. Consequently, this charge into the mass body is not only held, but it becomes more intense, till the round form of the cell is complete; and instead of receiving the charge back again immediately, it is held in powerful radiation while the nucleus itself divides. Two positives repel each other. Therefore, the moment the nucleus divides, the two parts move toward the outside of the nucleus body. And then the charge begins to flow back to the nucleus, but the nucleus is divided, So the response is to the two parts. If the response of the body mass were incomplete, the division would not be complete. It would only be partial. But normally there is a complete response, yielding to the two halves. The nucleus has divided. The body of the cell divides, and the two parts separate; whereupon each part is whole in itself, and it relaxes into the pulsations of normal life functions at the level of the amoeba. But that process of division, which is creation at the level of the amoeba, creative function at the one cell level—that creative function would not be possible if there was not a positive charge of greater intensification which is held until the nucleus can divide, and the charge be released back in pulsation to the two parts of the nucleus. The creative activity at the one cell level requires a greater pressure, a greater intensification of force, in order to allow creative function.
Now if this be seen as true at the level of the amoeba, it is true at the level of the human being. We do not function as single cells, it is true, but the principle is the same. How can the provision of God the Father, how can the provision of the nucleus, be made manifest? That provision in the ordinary sense, in the limited sense, is simply in relationship to the normal pulsations of life itself. But, being made in the image and likeness of the Creator, with the capacities essential to intelligent sharing of creative activity with the Creator, we know that the life force flowing through us is supposed to do more than merely permit breathing, eating, etc, we might say, as in the animal kingdom. We are supposed to be able to produce something out here, accomplish something, give form to something, give meaning to the forms on earth. This requirement, of the greater intensification, is something which human beings tend to seek to evade.
When the cycle of pressure begins to build up, instead of yielding and responding so that the body of the “amoeba” becomes round, the outer mass of the body, feeling the intensification in the currents, tries to move out of the range of pressure, to release the pressure in this direction or that, to get away from it, to escape from it, and it produces a leak. After the human being has dissipated his share of that energy, or perhaps more than his share, he may not know just how he dissipated it, but he feels unsatisfied, restless, nervous, insecure, and he tends to enter into some kind of a self-active drive pattern. He seeks entertainment. He does a thousand and one things. He may go to a show, or a dance, or to the bar for intoxicating liquor. All of these things to try to provide a substitute which would be satisfying in relationship to that which he has dissipated, in his failure to share in God's creative activity on earth.
Now we see here the working of the principle, “according to thy response so be it unto thee.” And we remember that one of the first things that was drawn to your attention as you came in contact with this Ministry was the necessity for the spirit of thanksgiving, of thanksgiving to God, the attitude of appreciation. Now if there be genuine thanksgiving, appreciation, toward God, the consciousness is centered in relationship to the nucleus, which God is. There is by reason of that attitude of thanksgiving, or gratitude, an openness, a yielded condition, which accepts the positive charge of the Father's projection of provision. But having received that positive radiation, the human being, sensing something of its presence, says to himself, “Now the Father has provided this, I will take it, I will use it, I will do this with it.” And when he does this with it, he finds that what he thought he had is gone—it is dissipated and lost. Now if the attitude of thanksgiving had continued, and not been just for the moment when he perceived something of the provision, he would have not have said to himself, “This is the Father's provision for me to use.” He would have held steady in the attitude of openness to receive the wholeness of that provision, and to let that provision be used according to the Father's will. He would have allowed the capacities of his being to be filled to the very limit, to “become round”, as it were. For when you blow air under pressure into a balloon, it tends to become round and it tends to swell.
Something of the same thing takes place in the life of the human being. It is not his physical body which changes, but the vibratory nature of his whole being begins to feel this change. We might say it is the sphere, the atmosphere, or the envelope, like the envelope around the earth, which is around his physical body. If this charge from the Father is not properly received, if we're not properly open to it, if we're just receiving a little of it, and weakly responding to it, and the pulsations are becoming erratic, and weaker, there will not be any “round form”, there will not even be enough of the current to permit the level of life function merely as a human being. But if we allow the fullness of our capacities to be filled with this charge, without taking an attitude, under pressure, that we must find some way to dissipate it, some way to use it, something to do with it—if we hold steady and let it increase, what will happen? We will find that we are not asked of God to hold that intense pattern longer than we are able to do.
That which God is doing, that which the nucleus is doing will be done at this level where we are. The new form within that sphere will begin to take shape, and then the giving back to God will take place. And because we give back to God instead of dissipating, there is something of the outer form of substance which begins to take form in relationship to that which God, the nucleus, has done or established in the vibratory field. Not a separation into a new human body necessarily, although the same principle holds true in conception, gestation, and birth. But I'm talking about the process of the creative action appearing in relationship to external things, conditions, circumstances, or the current that may be used in helping to establish healing in the body of another.
The cycle builds up. Something takes place in the invisible realm which the physical eye of itself cannot see. The nucleus form through which God operates does something on the level where that thing is to appear. Not some other level, up here. In the physical realm, it appears; in the mental, emotional realms. And there is enough of the life substance returned to God, the charge of being, so that that which God has done may begin to have meaning in the realm of form. In the continued patterns of pulsation, all that is needful to giving form to that which God has done, will be drawn. It may take a little time. The seasons of the Lord, and not the seasons of men, are involved; but the continued pulsations, and the substance is drawn to give form to that which God has established. And in season it appears, and it is there. Now God's provision is here with respect to all things whatsoever—every level and aspect of life, for every human being upon the face of the earth, in an absolute sense, it is here. But human beings have not known how to function correctly in permitting the Father's provision to have form for the purposes of manifestation.
We look out into the world in relationship to what shall we say money that which represents wealth in various forms. We recognize that in the Lord's service we need a certain amount of money or we cannot operate. We look out into the world and we see that there is a great deal of money in the world, but into what patterns does it flow? Under what control is it maintained? To what degree is there a release of that substance into the range of control in the Lord's service? It is comparatively small. We are not objecting. That's the way it is. But it is not because there isn't enough money in the world. And actually we have faith to believe that there are stewards of the Lord's substance who, when they are contacted, when they understand, they will be the means by which more money is made available. And I am simply illustrating at this level, for it works at every level in relationship to all things. But if we here who know the principles, the law in operation, all the factors that are involved, allow the charge from God the nucleus to be misused, lost, dissipated in various ways, that which God has established cannot take form. But if we learn to hold steady, remain under the control pattern, let the intensification take place, we will begin to provide that which is necessary in the outer sphere of being to permit the inner provision to take form, to have manifestation.
In relationship to this, at the time of the Garden of Eden, eastward in Eden, we remember the statement that man was commanded to “dress the Garden, give it form, and to keep it.” Most people when they think of dressing the garden think of hoeing the weeds, trimming the grass, trimming the hedges and so on, putting in stakes for the grape vines and the tomatoes, maybe the green beans. Dressing this Garden, the Garden of God, means giving it form, allowing it to have form, to dress it and to keep it, which is to say, keep it in form on earth, so that it can have meaning here. This is the realm of care, the care that is a part of the function of Mother God—the provision of the Father and the care of the Mother.
We begin to realize, that out here in this realm, we have more to do with the body of Mother God than we have directly, within the range of perception, with the body of Father God. But the body of Mother God belongs to Father God. So, if we say that man is to give form to the body of God, it is true. And if we say man, the mass of mankind, men and women, man is to provide the body for Father God, that is true. But what will be the shape of the body which is so provided for Father God? It will be the shape of the body of Mother God, which is provided for Father God.
Now, what is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit? What is the baptism of the Holy Ghost? It is the intensification of that which issues forth from Father God into this realm where we live. If feeling something of the pressures, the intensification of the current, we do as Peter did, and go out and try to use it, we could for the moment do some remarkable things, no doubt, because the power is there. But if we dissipate it, the form of its manifestation will disappear. And that is what happened after the Day of Pentecost with the coming of the dark ages.
We have a new cycle to carry out—a new release of the spirit of God into the earth to experience. Now we cannot properly say to ourselves, “We will wait for the great intensification,” correlating with the cell division point in the amoeba. “We will consider only that, as the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.” We must first learn to function in harmony with the Law, in the normal pattern of life function at the level of mankind, before we can hope to function correctly under the pattern of the greater intensification. If in the level of daily life we are not working correctly in relationship to the pulsation pattern; if we are dissipating the current by self-activity in some fashion, then what would we do with the greater intensification? It too would be dissipated, and the dissipation there would be more dangerous, more devastating, than at the level where we now are. So there must be training, there must be practice in correct function, in the pulsation, allowing it to work out in the pattern of the Divine Design.
But you may say, “How do I dissipate this precious charge which I receive from God?” One of the ways that it is dissipated, most profusely, most generally, is by idle chatter, by talking to much, by letting words flow out of the mouth without the control of the spirit—one of the most devastating of all the methods of dissipation! People might say, for instance, well, liquor provides a terrible pattern of dissipation in the world, and it does—yes, it does. But do you know that as terrible as that is, there is one worse? Talking, idle chatter that dissipates the energies of human beings, and their patterns. And what is happening in this? The consciousness is not centered in God. The control of the spirit is not established with respect to the words that are spoken, and the response is to this condition, to that person, to this thing, back and forth, idols, false gods, bowing down, which is to say responding to a multitude of things which are not of the nucleus which God is. And all of these many haphazard patterns of response, established in foolish speaking, meaningless chatter, produces a dissipation that is horrible to see. And the results—humanity must suffer the results. We have sickness in body and mind and heart, as a result; all kinds of things, nervousness, ill conditions of many kinds, primarily from this one thing. Idle chatter, which by its very nature violates the pulsing cycles of the One Law, and causes the individual to become subject, momentarily perhaps, but definitely to bow down to all of these idols which are producing the stimuli utilized in the expression—the control in the expression. What is controlling? Not the principle of being, in basic form, not the purposes of God, not the design of God, not the control of God, it is being dissipated.
But not just in words. Another tremendously dangerous pattern of dissipation is in the field of attitudes. It is in the range of attitudes that thoughts have their destructive pattern. It is not thought as such, ordinarily. It is attitudes which derive from wrong thought, which provide the patterns of dissipation. The weakening of the negative body of the amoeba which man is in relationship to God. If we see God and the whole mass of mankind as an amoeba, which is to say a single cell being, we can perhaps more readily understand the application of the principle. We are simply parts of the mass bodies of the amoeba, with the exception of the fact that a focalization of the nucleus is contained within each one. The nucleus in the sense of the form is not just in one body, except as human beings are in the one body of the mass of mankind. Here the one nucleus is differentiated into many points, one for each human being. The nuclei are everywhere—the means by that which is of invisible God may work in the level of this form, this realm of being.
Now that through which or by reason of which God may work must be on the level where the work is to be done. The nucleus pattern is differentiated throughout this body which we call mankind. And yet it is one nucleus, in actual fact, because all of these differentiated aspects of the nucleus provide a perfect nucleus pattern in relationship to God, regardless of what human beings do. The nucleus pattern of radiation is completely coordinated and is never violated. The outflowing is constant, yes, and yet it has its rhythm. Once you begin to feel that rhythm so that you are not trying to respond, as it were, at the wrong point in the pulsation, you will find that response is easy. If you are swimming in the ocean on the beach and the tide is going out, you may have some difficulty in swimming fast enough to get into shore. But if the tide is coming in, you shouldn't have any difficulty. If you work with the tide, it will be easy. If you work against the tide, it will be difficult.
The tide, or the pulsation, in our pattern of relationship with God, God through the nucleus or as manifest in the nucleus, if we work with the pulsations there, it will be easy. But if we disregard that pulsation, we'll be trying to govern our pattern of response, our pattern of receiving, on a basis that conflicts with the rhythm from the nucleus—and we will fail. We'll bring about a distortion. We'll have an emptiness. If the positive radiation is intensified in any given moment, that is the point of receiving—just letting it radiate. As that positive intensification relaxes, begins to recede, as it were, that is the moment of response, to yield and let it carry through, back to the nucleus. It is a rhythm, and that rhythm is in every aspect of life, every level of body and mind and heart.
That which is allowed release in radiation, the positive projection from God out of heaven into the earth, will have all of the different patterns necessary for the perfect manifestation on earth. And it is in our sharing in the pulsation that we will begin to gather together the substance which will, in the larger cycle of pulsation, permit the outer manifestation in form of that which the Father has provided—the living, pulsing, open receptivity and response. As we work in that pulsation, that which the nucleus establishes in pattern is given form. If we violate the pulsation, the rhythm, that which is so established by the nucleus never has form, and then the human being says the provision of the Father is not made manifest.
The care of Mother God is in this, that as we function consciously as parts in the body of Mother God, we begin to sense the control aspect, the care aspect, by which we may allow the rhythms to be in the true expression of the body of Mother God, and all the things that the Father provides will be carefully given form, and allowed to be born into outer manifestation in their season. And then we will have the outer evidence of the Father's provision. But human beings are so impatient, and consequently so impertinent, that they try to make the Father's provision appear without giving it body, and then they cannot see it, they cannot use it, and they deny that God has given or provided. Here we see that God gives to man; but the meaning of that giving cannot manifest to man except as man gives to God. For the giving to God is the response pulsation by which outer substance is drawn to the position of the divinely established pattern as ordained through the nucleus.
If we say we're going to be positive, or we're going to be this way or that way, and try to attract something out here to us; if that is to move, there must be movement here. What kind of movement? The movement in the pulsation back to God, vibrationally speaking, expanding out, drawing in; and that which is responding out here will not be repelled as the expansion in the pulsation takes place. We'll simply be reaching more deeply into it. And then in the attraction pattern we draw it closer. And in that rhythm, step by step, draw people, things, substance, all things needful, into the pattern. But if we refuse to have the rhythmic breath—and this is the rhythmic breath, not just rhythmic breathing, the air out here—this is the Rhythmic Breath in the Body of God. It is the Body that belongs to Father God, but it is the Body of Mother God. And in that pattern we draw all things into form in relationship to the divinely established design. We begin to let the Father's Will be done in earth as it is in heaven. We begin to let His Kingdom come.
